I hope someone out there can help me. I rooted my Verizon Note 3 and then had it un rooted. I want to be able to go back to original stock rom, just not sure about the process, and even if I am able to do it. I would appreciate some help here. Thank you!
DutchDogg54 has put together a great post in the VZW Galaxy Note 3 Android Development forum. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2528707
Basically download the file matching your current firmware MI9 or MJ7 and follow first 3 steps in the post. All files should be linked in his thread as well. HTH

Hi
Im on a rooted international(I9300) s3 4.1.2 and want to know how to go back to the absolute stock like the firmware that was shipped with my phone. I forgot what my old firmware ver when I got the phone was
Thanks in advance guys
Read the guide on returning to stock, choose the firmware from Sammobile.com that matches your country. The original firmware is irrelevant.
Questions go in the q&a forum, report your own post and ask a moderator to move it for you.

Just rooted my Verizon note 3 and installed safestrap, It is on nc4. Could someone please explain the next step for installing a custom rom?! Or is there a video out there?!

Check Beans thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53508270
Go to second post for instructions and you're using the NC4 ota set of instructions. Some of which you've done already since you're rooted and have safestrap installed. You can pretty much flash any NC2 or NC4 rom in the development thread as long as it's a retail rom and not something for the developer edition of the n3. If you decide to play with Jasmine read his instructions multiple times as his rom is a s5 port for the note 3 and it doesn't seem as straight forward as NC2/NC4 roms.
Another point, flashing the nc2 kernel must be done with Odin and you're phone must be put in download mode. There may be some videos too, check the development threads in the first three to four posts of each rom thread.
Edit: Also, if you've never used Odin @az_biker has an instructional thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2576104, it's not hard at all.

I'm sorry if this has been answered already, but I cannot find a clear answer.
My Verizon Note 3 came from the store with Kit Kat.
I put safe strap recovery on it, and have it running AllianceROM build 2 right now.
I want to go back to stock, just as it came from the store, so I can give it to a friend. No root, no safe strap, just stock.
Can I simply just ODIN back with the stock 4.4.2 tar file? Is that really all there is to it?

For anyone questioning the same thing, after searching over dozens of threads... I took a chance and had success with one thread:

I was confused on firmware versions, because I bought my Note 3 late in its' release, and it came with 4.4.2 (NC4), and from there I rooted and did the safestrap thing. Many restore-to-stock threads focus on 4.3, and you can't go backwards in firmware from what I understand.
Okay so, anyone with a newer (4.4.2/NC4) Note 3, you can go back to stock by following the guide in the thread above. It worked for me anyway. Just follow the instructions but make sure you download the 4.4.2 firmware and not the 4.3 version, and make sure you wipe/factory reset afterwords. :victory:

Just used ODIN to flash my Retail Note 3 to MJE, using the Full Stock firmware in the OP.
If I flash it to the Full Stock NC4 and am not happy, can I again re-flash back to MJE?
Thanks.

I am currently using another thread to assist me in unbricking my device and using ODIN in order to restore to factory settings. I am a novice at best and I was referred to your thread in order to download the tar file for my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-I535 4.4.2 and the links are no longer working in this particular thread. Does anyone know where to find the correct file to use in ODIN to fix my phone? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Don't know about the S3, The Note 3 can be downgraded from 4.4.2 but after 4.4.4 it cannot be downgraded.

My phone is unrooted and seems to be working fine now. I did it through the app itself then checked with a root checker. After this once I restarted my phone it still shows the custom unlock sign on the samsung screen. Binary count is 0. Should I go into recovery and reboot or wipe phone to start fresh? What will get rid of that custom unlock?
I'm just looking for some assistance on where to even begin. Lol. I bought a S5 for $125 and want to root and rom it. I am coming from the whole note line. I have a note 3 right now running biggins rom and love it. If someone can point me in a direction of the chaos of posts as to rooting it and some stable rooms for it. I'd be grateful of your assistance. There is a ton of posts in the S5 line. Thanks in advance.

I would start by flashing the NGC full tar file. (NGC is the only firmware that is rootable). First download safestrap and towelroot onto your ext SD card. Odin the NGC tar file. Install towelroot, hit the " make it rain" button. It should say you now have root. Download SuperSU from the play store. Install, update its binaries, and reboot your phone. You are now rooted. Download busybox from the play store then install it. Then install safestrap. With the Verizon S5 you can go up or down to any firmware you want to and keep root.

What version of Odin is best to use on the S5. On the Note 3 I could use one of 3 different versions and not have any real issues. But some did have issues with the newest version.
