I received notice of the update to my Note 3 last week. But because my Note 3 had been perfect in every way so far I did not really want the update. But there seemed to be no way to refuse it permanently. I finally got tired of constantly dismissing the nag screen and today went ahead with the update.
Unfortunately the phone now randomly reboots itself. I pulled the battery for a few minutes and that does not seem to help. It has done it a few times in the 6 hours since I updated. Seems random with no set time in between. Once was only a few minutes before it did it, another time it was good for a couple of hours before it did it. I had a perfect phone and now this! At least the reboots have not happened when I was in the middle of something. So far it has happened when the phone was just sitting idle on the desk with the screen off. I would just notice it rebooting by itself. Another time I took the phone out of my pocket and looked at battery use and it said something like 4m 30s on battery and it had been in my pocket for over an hour while I was using some power equipment so it had rebooted at least once while in my pocket. I plan to remove the battery overnight and see if that does anything.
If you have a SD card, try removing it for a couple of days to see if the problem goes away
Flash stock.
In case u dont know how:
Press ×#1234# in th phone app
Go to www.sammobile.com/firmwares
Search your firmware (type in your csc in the search field)
Download it
Download odin v 3.09
Start odin
Put your phone in download mode
Connect the phone
Put the firmware in ap slot
Press start

Since SGS2.... after every OTA or Kies Update the Phone runs not perfect. WTF... every time the same until I flash complete Firmware with Odin, but this time I did not use Odin because of Knox.

Thanks Killberty - Not being experienced with that I wonder does it prevent OTA nag notices going forward?
Just flashing wont prevent OTA notifications from showing up once there is a new update. They will only show up when the is a new update, which could take a while.

I just got my Note 3 and the first thing I did was root it. The problem is that I forgot to perform a software update. Now when I try to update the software, I get the message that I can't update because my phone is modified. Is there a way to download and manually install the latest software update?
This should be in Q&A....mods will either delete it or move it for you.
To answer you...depending on your region the stock firmware may or may not be available for you to odin back to stock.

Then update and reroot (from what i heared, ony the international N3 had a firmware update) Usually, if there was one for you, as soon as you would have connected to the internet it would have told you, unless you rooted without first connecting the phone to the internet

Triangle away is not yet supported on note 3 to my knowledge.im sure CF will get to it though.

You can use kies to restore your phone back to stock. It will change your phone back to original status, without root. However there's nothing you can do on your knox warranty.

from mj2 rom release (leak,pre official) there is knox integrated in system and shows one counter in download mode like Official bit = 0
so i made this thread for our beloved note 2 's newer firmwares knox issues and informations.

As far as I know there is a specific chip on the motherboard where knox increments the flashing.
1st of all since this is a "feature" that came with the note 3, I think we are kind of safe since that specific cip was not integrated on the mb. I'm not sure that even the s4 has one.
Non the less the counter some how could be emulated in the bootloader and thus tricking us in thinking that knox is emplemented.
Some more experienced people sooner or later will figure it up.
My advice is that if you still have warranty think twice before flashing.

u are right to wait.
but knox is integrated in all kernels, framework and bootloaders. so it may rise a flag as in s4 and note 3 roots,downgrading and etc.
they have this since one exact month and theres no way they can reset it and they got warranty voided.
and s4 doesnt have this kind of efuse chip on mb but still they have all flags i think.
Are you sure that our note2 has an efused inside?

I have done more than 3 factory resets since i'm using 4.3
The only problem i have with KNOX (i like it) is that after i install it
my Note start to tell me after update on some basic apps
"External StorageSpace left 1.55 MB".
Without KNOX i don't have this massage.

The current firmware mi6 doesn't have knox integrated, it is just an app but in the new pre official leak mj2 has knox integrated into the bootloader.. Which is hard to bypass as the firmware won't boot with any older bootloader thus there will be knox counter raise on flashing custom recovery or rooting the device.. I haven't still got into details myself but there should be a way of downgrading to older boot and firmware for claiming warranty.. And I guess the s4 community will probably get some work around as they are in deeper problems with official 4.3 has realese for them. It's just a matter of waiting and watching now.

hey guys, are there any limitations in flashing after updating to FW containing Knox? I mean, i don't care if it sets knox flag to 1, i already don't have any warranty. I'm just asking because people everywhere are speaking only about warranty when it comes to Knox. But are there any other restrictions like missing possibility of downgrade, or unability of flashing custom ROMs?

Is this true? I mean... who in their right mind would go official after being on xda for any reasonable amount of time?... but the possibility that such a restriction could be enforced on our device is deeply troubling.
HI there, i have being lurking a lot of time without and account and from the time i learned here how to root and do other cool stuff to android device but now i needed to create an account to ask for help because i cant find any solution.
first a bit of story so you can understand why im so weirded out by my problems.
My dad works in an important carrier here in spain where i live, the 28 it was my birthday and he wanted to gift me some new tech, he managed to get a Samsung Note 3 Live demo unit ( i know all the fuss about it and how it can't be used as a normal phone etc) and i was quite happy to test out this device but as any live demo unit there was the retail mode installed and all, so i decided to find the Stock rom for my phone and ¿flash it? through odin, went perfect, the retail mode disappeared and all the functions worked perfectly (not the network signal obviously) but it was a clear stock rom Note 3, all happy, rooted it installed my apps used it until this weekend.
My father got another one (same device model etc) for him and asked me to make it like mine,i thought this was easy because i still had all the files from mine and all, did the same steps as with mine but when it restarted it entered a loop, the device booted up, the configuration worked kinda weird (wifi not searching from my network), system not working, and after a couple minutes reboot
I decided to test on my functional note 3 the same files and that ****ed my note 3 too same deal rebooting and stuff. WITH THE SAME FILE I USED THE FIRST TIME.
I tested formating everything, flash another recovery, root it use another international stock rom i tryed TWRP and im out of ideas and im in fear of bricking the device even more.
Anyone could help me out.
I have no clue of what is happening or what could i did wrong, i understand there is no way of make it work like a 100% normal phone but i want to flash a rom and be able to use it like a stock note 3 just from my personal stuff.
Both Note 3 are SM-N9005, i cant acces the memory of the phone,but i can put it in download mode and in Recovery,i can flash it with odin and put Clockwork but i tested everything and i cant find any solution.

Is 3.09 more efective,reliable or it may affect the procces than using 3.15?

I know that ROMs from sammobile are reliable.
Odin v3.15? Never heard of. I can confirm 3.09 works perfectly for not 3.

I just saw something weird, in the back of my Live demo Unit, there is a tag below the battery who says its model SM-N900X but a bit upper in the plastic there is a code with SM-N9005 if this has something to do with all .

After flashing retail firmware i've got bootloop.
It is may be because EFS is broken.
Or bootloader blocks normal firmware.
I've tried to flash original bootloader but it fails with error.
Still waiting method to recover it.

I have a question, I am experiencing random freeze where my screen will just free, will not respond to my touches, I was on mi7 rooted it using Rdlv, then used the mobile odin method to upgrade to upgrade it to mj7 in the hope that, these freezes goes away. Afraid that the issues is still there. I think I might have to send it to the service centre. So my question is unroot the decide using sypersu method, will I be able to re root and if yes how. Secondly if they they change the montherboard, nd put straight mj7 on it, will I be abl do of root it again

You can still root even if they put MJ7 on it but you may lose knox if they put the new bootloader on it.

So I have experienced some issues. When I first got the phone it was stuttery and having issues with Google Music and freezing up. Next Day I factory reset it (twice in a row cuz I'm paranoid) and been a dream since. However, just last night it has an issue too. I was messing with some PSP ROM and trying to load it from sdcard. Then I started reading that A) there may be issues with the 64GB SanDisk SDcards AND/OR B)Note 3 may have some issues with indexing sdcards in general.
So if you are using an sdcard of any size, try taking it out or reformatting (after backing up ofcourse) and see if that helps. BUT for sure a lot of problems are cleared up with a factory reset. Mine is at about 95% now except for that weird issue last night.
I do not use any sd card at present

Modem is DMJ7, but my boot loader is still MI7
I have today seen that the most probable issue with the freeze is my RAM is getting filled up, i used LMT pie control and from that i can see, that my ram used is always 2109MB, leaving only 333MB. I have now frozen, Flipboard, after which after cleaning the RAM, the usage is now 1928, even thought the stock ram status says only 0.99GB used. Can some please help me

I factory reseted my note 3 today, my Knox is 0x1 but my system custom is official... I can install all normally, like S health, s translator, kids mode etc, but when I try to install Knox app, the app opens and show an animation, after a message asking for wait a minute, and after that the app simply closes, and when I reopen, it do the same... Can it be because of the Knox 0x1? I believe that isn't 'cuz I remember that I can install it before...

I knew what 0x1 indicates, what I didn't knew is that the knox tripped even with system status official don't let the Knox app run...
