I posted specifics to another thread on the T-Mobile LG G2 not connecting/keeping connected to WiFi.
Once I lose the call I am on, it takes up to 10s to disconnect. Then, when I try to redial, a message shows up "To place a call, first turn off airplane mode". I have never used airplane mode. Once cancelled, I can retry the call and it lasts maybe 5 min.
Are there any forums that are LG specific? I couldn't find anything on their site. Google led me (back) here. I really want to get LG's attention so they will work on the radio.

I have had a wizard for about a month now with few issues. After the first couple days I settled on Jaguar 4.0 ROM, and it has been working great except for a few times when it freezes / won't let me unlock the screen to use it.
However, the past few days a big issue has come about. I can make calls easily, but I cannot receive them. People say it goes straight to my voicemail. My phone doesn't ring, doesn't tell me I have missed calls, doesn't tell me I have voicemail.
Last night I found one thing that may be part of the problem. On the top, it shows the network strength - this is always strong. To the left of that, it SHOULD show an 'E' symbol, possibly for the edge network (at&t) ? Anyways, I know the E is there when it works. I can also connect to internet via GPRS when this is there. Lately, that E symbol no longer shows up. Intead, it has a different symbol with an 'x' on it (two arrows in opposite directions with a small x). At first I thought this just meant I wasn't connected to the internet for data usage at that time, but I've learned that I cannot receive calls either. If I try to connect to the internet, it says connecting but never connects.
If I click around in the menus and connection menus, or reset the phone (sometimes), eventually I can get the 'E' to show again and the phone is working like it should (not sure how to actually get it back, but after clicking around in menus I can). However, it doesn't stay. It seems to stay on a few minutes, I think everything is ok, and then I look at my phone 30 minutes later and that symbol is gone, thus I am no longer receiving calls.
It's weird, because I can make calls easily regardless of the symbol there. I'm clearly connected to the network, have a signal, etc. I've checked flight mode, which is always off. I've checked settings and everything looks ok.
Any ideas on what is going on or how to fix this?
Edit: Note - Turning flight mode ON and then OFF seems to get the E back and the connection restored properly. I think the same happens by turning the phone OFF then ON. However, it only stays fixed temporarily (less than 30 minutes) and gives no notice the proper connection is lost. I just find out next time I look at the phone and see it's not working and find out I've missed important phone calls.
I have Epic 4g on SPRINT USA. Not rooter, latest original firmware. I recently notice that if I get to no signal zone like subway, radio icon is crossed circle; I guess phone suspend radio and randomly check to preserve battery. Problem is that once I back to area with full signal it may take 5-10 minutes for phone to get radio back. If I attempt to make call it will say phone not registered on network. It will take me switch airplane mode on off to enforce registration on network sooner. As the result if I am located in no signal zone for an hour and have signal for 10 min and back to no signal it will not get my sms, voicemail and email during that time. Is that waiting time adjustable? Any idea?
When I'm heading down into the subway, I put my phone on airplane mode because its pointless to have the radio on when there's no signal and it wastes more battery, then when I get out I wait a few seconds and then turn airplane mode off and it reconnects like nothing.
Just try turning I on when you're going in, and when you're outside again just turn airplane mode off
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
You could use Tasker for something like this easily. Its what its made for.
No Radio / long time to register on network
But I do not want all time to manage my phone when I go to underground area or at no service area. I can use tasker, but should not it be handled by sprint? Also in tasker you expect me to use cell near and check it repeatedly once per 3min? Not much sense, as tasker will not see event when display off, it by default use to check once per 10 min, which is not good in this situation.
Any other solution? I do not expect all people using subway to turn on airline mode
When I receive a text message while flight mode is enabled it gets the timestamp from the moment when I turn off flight mode but that is not the time when the message was sent.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
I use Handcent and enable flight mode every night.
Thanks

Sorry but I don't understand how that application can fix the problem.
The time doesn't stop while flight mode is active and I don't care about a few ms but I care about the hours of sleep while flight mode is active and text message are received without the right timestamp.
This is actually a known Android issue, and it's infuriating.
For any cell phone (as far as I know), if the radio isn't able to access the network (flight mode, phone turned off, whatever) for a period of time and later obtains a connection, all "missed" items will be pushed to the phone. Just basic cell phone 101 stuff.
Here's where the problem is, though:
With any other phone out there, from the cheap ol' Nokia handsets to top-tier WP7 smartphones, once the phone is reconnected to the network and received those missed SMS the timestamp on them will be marked as the time the sender sent them. If the phone is disconnected at 12:00 A.M., somebody messages you at 4:30 A.M., and a connection isn't reestablished until 6:00 A.M., the message will arrive shortly after 6:00 A.M. but will be marked as being sent at 4:30 A.M. - that's how it's always been as far as I can remember and that's the way it ought to be.
With the Android OS, however, if you follow the same scenario above (off at 12, message at 4:30, on at 6) the message, when received, will be marked with a timestamp around 6:00 A.M. There's a post on the official bug report list about it but apparently El Goog doesn't care. Share your thoughts.
This is probably my biggest frustration with Android right now, and it's entirely unnecessary.
Looks like the issue's over two years old, though, so don't expect an official fix anytime soon.
EDIT: In the Google thread I linked to above there are some workarounds. This app in particular has worked for me, but it has to be running before the messages arrive... shouldn't be a problem with you as you have your phone in flight mode; just make sure to run the app before coming out of it/getting the messages.
Hope this helps you out a bit!
Help please anyone.
Earlier today my phone lost service...i wasn't too bothered as I was home and the wifi is still working well.
I thought there was no orange service! Turns out my sim card isn't being detected (nor is any other one i've tried)
I did drop my phone early...but it's in a hard back case and it landed on its front and this has never occurred before.
What to do? Will a repair cost a bomb?
check ur IMEI and baseband...
i gues they'll be unknown
yep unknown?
This just happened to me just few minutes ago. Try turning off your phone, remove battery and SIM. Re-insert battery and turn on without SIM. If your radio service is restored, turn off and turn on with SIM this time.
This seems to happen to me whenever I try to calibrate my battery using the app in market by NEMA.
I'm going to have a backup of my efs folder and root explorer app now because I'm scared.
^ thanks will try that!
My airplane sign is on though! and has been for ages now-despite airplane mode being disabled?
Lol okay so I have two issues...sim problem AND
the phone refuses to switch off flight mode (despite the fact it's not activated in settings) Wifi comes on but bluetooth won't as it's in "flight mode"-sigh
If you have some radio service restored, then there is still some hope:
Go into phone dialer, punch in *#*#4636#*#*. Then go in Phone Information, scroll down, and there should be a drop-down box selection there. Select "GSM/CDMA auto (PRL)". Wait few seconds. Hit your menu soft-key. Select "Select radio band". Select "Automatic", OK, then go back to Phone info Menu. Hit "Turn off radio", wait few seconds until you lose all radio connections. Then hit "Turn on radio" and see if you get your radio connections restored.
If you can't do any of the previous steps then your efs nv_data.bin file is probably corrupt or something. Try removing battery, wait few seconds, turn on phone without SIM, turn off phone, re-insert SIM, then turn on. Repeat instructions on previous paragraph.
If you're still SOL, then you need help from someone else. Try searching "efs restore" from the parent forum thread "Samsung Galaxy S II I9100". I found a thread with [FIXED] tag that may show some help regarding this.
My S2 is also in similar mode .. tried ur instructions but unable to start the radio please help
the same think for me
i had this with ke7 modem and when i changed to kh3 it stoped
Apologies for hijacking this thread but I have a similar problem in that I can't get a 3G signal either.
In my case, it happened when I was at my local cinema and I managed to pick up a 3G signal in there which I used to do a quick check of my email before the signal switched itself off.
Usually if the phone is out of range of a 3G signal, the signal would switch itself off then back on once the phone was in range of a 3G signal and yet, when I was back outside, I couldn't get a 3G signal.
I thought it was the SIM card at first but it's definitely not that. I finally managed to install VillainROM after much difficulty yesterday and it fixed a problem I had with the phone being stuck in Flight Mode but it didn't fix the problem involving not being able to pick up a 3G signal anywhere.
ok i have recieved my second, sgh-i337 build number kot49h.i337UCUFNC1 Kernel is Now 3.4.0-1125940, from assurion with the same issue. it seems that after the latest OTA update my mobile network fails randomly throughout the day. I cannot use web, if i try to make a call it gets stuck "dialing" and cant even end the call. I try to turn on airplane mode and airplane mode gets stuck between on and off. PS half the time this happens i show full bars but no 4g or E or any network designation the other half i show no service. i know its not where i am by the way, this is testing it in the known full bar location of my house, and downtown at my work, where i also have full bars.
So people sound off if this update screwed over your phone too. also any suggestions are welcome.
