ok i have recieved my second, sgh-i337 build number kot49h.i337UCUFNC1 Kernel is Now 3.4.0-1125940, from assurion with the same issue. it seems that after the latest OTA update my mobile network fails randomly throughout the day. I cannot use web, if i try to make a call it gets stuck "dialing" and cant even end the call. I try to turn on airplane mode and airplane mode gets stuck between on and off. PS half the time this happens i show full bars but no 4g or E or any network designation the other half i show no service. i know its not where i am by the way, this is testing it in the known full bar location of my house, and downtown at my work, where i also have full bars.
So people sound off if this update screwed over your phone too. also any suggestions are welcome.

That works I wonder if its an issue, if anyone else has the prob let me know

I have that issue as well, idk why it happens but I'll add it to the list of problems for when I call to get a replacement.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
That just happened to me today also. It switched from "H" to "E", then when I opened USA Today it FC-ed and the icon turned into a generic Android one like the app was on the SD card and unavailable (even though it's installed to phone) and then 5 more background apps that I didn't even know were running FC-ed (Amazon MP3, Finance, QuickOffice, something and then Facebook three times?) and the phone locked up. I was able to power off then back on, but data never came back even after waiting about 10 minutes until I powered off and on again. Quite odd.
I get the same issue where am connected to wifi and as soon as i walk away from it it doesnt connect back to the data network. I got a replacement phone coming so hopefully i dont have the same issue. Another thing is the random reboot and i get black screen a lot especially after rebooting
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
I've had the issue, but each time it appears to be related to JuiceDefender not properly enabling the radio. If I shut JuiceDefender off, the connection comes back, although sometimes its just easier to airplane mode it and be done with it.
I called T-Mo about it, they said call about a week after the inital release date and see if they have a fix by then, there isnt enough information kept since it hasnt been officially released yet.
I'm having the same trouble. Are you guys on the new sim card? I popped in the new sim card and the tech told me to not use it and just save it. I noticed when I put the new sim card a notification of a new voicemail came on. I didn't have any voicemail.
Edit: I'm starting to have some serious data issues. I'll get cut off, but my phone will still show full bars and "H". I try the whole airplane thing and it still does nothing. I constantly get the "check network setting, try again or cancel". My market wont load, browser says "unable to connect." This is getting stupid. When I call T Mobile it always start working and then cuts off shorty after hanging up. I've never had this isssue before. I live in the middle of the city. Only 3G around here. Its getting annoying.
Guys I'm afraid that it might problem with the antenna placement. Holding the phone on the bottom half will drop me from 3 bars of "H" to 4 bars of "G", then it will bounce back up to 4 bars of "E". If left on a desk then it will remain at 3-4 bars of "H". I notice this especially at a place where I have low-mid signal, such as my school (reinforced concrete FTL). When I have a strong 4 bar signal, it usually won't drop all the way down to edge but I do loose a few bars. I hope a simple software issue is enough to reduce this effect. I might be being crazy paranoid but I'm definitely noticing a lower signal than on my G1.
Try holding the phone by the edges, then hold it in a normal grip and see if the signal strenght changes (Menu->settings->status->signal strength)
I just got off the phone with tmo and was told its a known issue with the network affecting about 10% of users. The issue started for me yesterday on my hd2. He also said they have people working on it. I asked if I could get my buyers remorse set back 14 more days to ensure the issue is not permanment but he said that they are no longer doing extentions. I'm sure if I get tranfered to retentions the answer would change. I hope.

I'm also having the same issue. I just rebooted my phone, so I haven't had the chance of switching airplane mode on/off yet. I'll let you guys know if that works for me, either way, I'm hoping there's a fix from T-Mo.

Wow that's funny, my MYTOUCH does the same thing with airplane mode off/on. I also remember that the store demo g2 I played with last night had the voicemail icon in the notification bar, but when you pull the bar down, there's no option to connect and retrieve the voicemail. I found that even weirder since the phone comes preloaded with google voice.
Also experiencing the same issue here in Phoenix. Been having it since I got the phone on Monday.
I have been in an ongoing round of tech calls and will be having a follow-up with the tech who I spoke with last night... I've tried everything from APN resetting to swapping the SIM card to a total factory wipe -- nothing is changing this for me.
I *know* my neighborhood has full 3G access, but I am maxed out at 1 Mbps. (Before the factory wipe I was getting 0.35 Mbps.) If this doesn't change I may just return the phone and switch to Sprint to get the Epic 4G. I mean, I'm not getting HSPA+ coverage either way, and at least with the Samsung Galaxy S Pro I'd have a full 5-row qwerty...
>_<
Wow, this is really too bad. I was SO excited about this phone...

If this happens, try going to settings->wireless->mobile network->network operators and see if you get an "Error while searching for networks" error as I did.
Reset fixed for me too. But it makes me worry.
I'm on a brand new sim card (switched to TM from ATT). I'm having some data issues too. I talked to TM tech support and they reset my connection but that did nothing. Now they're going to their android techs to see whats up.
I have a Vibrant...stock and I haven't received the update yet. Houston, TX area.
For the past 3-4 days, I keep randomly losing my network signal. No 3g, no Edge. Rebooting the phone or putting it in and out of Flight Mode will wake it up. Otherwise I think it would stay dead regardless of what I do or if I move around. I am in normal areas that should have decent 3g signals and have never given me issues before with this phone.
Any ideas? Maybe weird network issues in the area or definitely a problem with the phone itself? Maybe the OTA update will clear it out?

This actually happened to me couple times last night, first when i turned off wifi and 2nd time i was on 3g and suddenly data signal was gone completely
I'm on ji6
Same problem here. I upgraded to froyo and then get back to 2.1. Had a fix drawbacks but it is now working fine until I noticed this problem where the signal is dropped. Sometimes it says that the sim card do not allow to connect to that operator, but when I try a few more times it reconnects. I'm waiting samsung release again froyo to update the phone and try to fix this problem.
As the title says the signal drops on my s4(gt-i9505) alot.I've been searching over the internet to find a fix but nothing helps.
The sim card is brand new so it.s not the sim
The firmware is updated to latest version
The imei is the same as it writes on the back of the phone so it should be right
Even if the signal is poor or strong it drops randomly and the only way to fix it is to restart the phone.
I also tried to factory reset the phone many times
Even if i set the network mode only on 2g or 3g it does the same thing
I'm from romania and the service network is on Vodafone
Android version is 4.4.2
I dont have waranty for the phone so i'm tring every option i can before sending it to a service center.
I try to belive there is a glitch in the soft and not hardwere fault
If there is anything else i can do please tell me!
This happens to me sometime, the only thing that I do is I switch to airplane mode then switch back again then wait a couple seconds then it restores to the right or proper network coverage. What happens is you experience is that the signal suddenly drops right?

Yes the signal suddenly drops and even if i try to swtch to airplane mode and then back again it's not doing anything.
And in the past few days it became more frequently. It's not passing half an hour before the signal drops.
Did you try flashing different modems? That would be my point to start.
Yes i did flash a new modem but it still keeps droping.
I will try other modems since there are more avaible for my country.

As you can see in the picture none of the options is checked.
They uncheck themself and if i try to select one of them nothing happens.
The only way to get the signal back is to restart the phone

Hello,
I have the Sony Z2 on Tmobile USA, completely stock (no ROMs, or modifications).
Approximately twice a day, my Z2 randomly stops receiving calls, making calls, and accessing the mobile internet. It still shows plenty of "bars" on the reception meter, thus I have no idea that I'm not receiving calls.
When it happens, this can only be resolved with a restart, or turning on Airplane Mode, then turning it off again. The problem will usually come back within 6 hours, requiring another restart cycle.
If I have WiFi enabled when this is occurring, then I can still access the internet via WiFi, but I will not get calls and text messages. I get no indication anything is wrong, until I try to place a call and it fails.
When this happens, the "Signal Strength" meter (under "About Phone", "Status") does not change, it would read something like -95 dBm no matter where I would take the phone (even in areas of poor coverage). It appears the phone simply looses synchronization with the mobile network, but doesn't notify the user. Other phones on the same mobile carrier continue to work perfectly at the same place, so it's not a mobile carrier issue.
I've had this phone for 8 months, and this is a new phenomenon.
This is Z2 model D6503 and I am on the latest firmware (Android 4.4.4, build 23.0.1.A.0.167). Sony support said "reset the entire phone", of course.
Please share any thoughts you may have about what could be wrong.
Any input is very much appreciated. Thank you!

Most probably random software issue. If you installed any apps recently one of them could be the culprit. Uninstall them or trying booting into safe mode and see if the problem persists with continued usage.
As a last resort you can factory reset the device using the PC companion. But since the lollipop update is round the corner wait for it and see if the update fixes the bug.
If a factory rest or firmware flash doesn't solve the problem its a hardware fault, return it and ask for replacement.
I know I randomly get data drops, but I always cycle mobile data off and on to fix it. Next time it happens, I'll try to make a call to see if this is the same bug that I've having.
Quick update:
Right before the problem started, I installed the current-as-of February 2015 version of Audible on my phone.
After I uninstalled Audible, the issue appears to have disappeared (haven't seen it re-occur yet). Bizarre, but that's the situation,
For last 5-6 days I had to restart phone about 4 times because of strangely stuck signal. Phone shows full bar, but there is no icon for data connection. And whole phone and data module is stuck, so no incoming/outgoing calls nor internet. Tried to enable airplane mode, no change. When I forced phone to 2g only mode, it showed Edge icon, but still no data. Only solution is full restart.
Took me while to notice and still trying to figure some pattern when it happens, but seems to be random. Only common thing is it happens on the move, because for last 3 days I stayed home sick and signal was fine. Today I took walk and happened twice.
I've noticed this too on my s7e...only happens when I lose data connection...but I can still make calls....subtle difference...
Airplane mode on/off...mobile data on/off doesn't do anything. Only success I've had is with selecting 3G manually , then putting it back to 4G...seems to kick back into life....data symbol pops up immediately
Tried to simulate this at work - went somewhere with zero signal - got the "no entry" sign at the top of screen to say no signal whatsoever...then as soon as I went elsewhere...bang - straight back to H+ connection instantly..
The only difference I can figure is that at home I'm on 4G (at work is H+)...and it looks like the phone has trouble kicking a 4G connection back into life (hence the manual toggle trick).
Try it yourself and see if any of this ties in with your fault.
Same problem here. Airplane isn't helping. So fare only full reboot helped. Will try toggleing network next time.
Very annoying bug.

This used to happen to me, but last week got an update (G935FXXU1APD - UK unbranded carphone warehouse) ...so went to my 2 favourite reception black holes at the weekend (different days) , and when I emerged the phone had connected again to the data network without any manual intervention...update seems to have done something....
December and I've been having this issue since October. The signal has gotten worse with the last update
