As we now, we are the second device in the list of devices which will get android Kitkat. the exact date confirmed for kitkat release is in about 1 or 2 weeks.
Google bought Flexycore for 23 Million, and they worked hard in kitkat android to optimize all at max.
What is flexycore?
it's a company which focus in soft optimization in android. they (with google) optimized all in kitkat for a great perfomance, graphics & battery use.
so, normally when we get through android versions (ej: From GB to ICS) we get a little bit less perfomance and smoothness, but, not now, if you thought of buying an ipad mini 2 because you are stupid then retreat from that, because a quad-core optimized to run at max will get you into a new level. trust me.
Kitkat does run AMAZING in devices with just 512 MB ram and a 1GHZ processor, imagine kitkat in a new nexus 7, will be as fast as light.
as of ROMS,Developement,Rooting,Apps, i don't know anything about that, i just know that this update is going to be a big hit.
here are some sites i read about it..
http://www.gottabemobile.com/2013/10/22/google-aims-improve-android-4-4-kitkat-flexycore/
http://androidandme.com/2013/10/news/google-buys-flexycore-creator-of-droidbooster-optimization-app/
i also made this thread to tell the users who want to buy the new ipad mini 2, that, basing in TRUE information, nexus 7 owns it. see:
Screen : 323/324 PPI N7 FHD vs 326 PPI Ipad Mini Retina (not noticeable. so it's not a plus for ipad mini 2)
point for both
Processor : Quad-core 1.5GHZ Qualcomm Snapdragon "S4 PRO" modified to be similar to next gen snapdragon. the Ipad mini has a 64 bit processor so it's supposed to be better, but with less cores.
point for ipad mini 2
Design : Shut up *****, Nexus 7 design it's not bad, it's awesome for me. if you personally like ipad mini 2 design most we don't care.
point for both
Apps & Games: thinking of future, android since this year become the best mobile gaming platform. think of it, all games which were not on android and where HITS on IOS appeared all of them this year at android. also some games which are free in android are paid in IOS.
also, google has much more of apps than apple, as google has GMAPS, GMAIL, Chrome, all Gapps (you know), apple just itunes, safari and another ****ty thing no one likes. but, as that was a personal like/dislike i just count the gaming part.
point for nexus 7 fhd
GPS : oh yeah the ipad mini doesn't have one.
point for nexus 7 fhd
Price : well, $600+ Ipad mini 2 vs $300+ Nexus 7 LTE 32 GB.
point for nexus 7 fhd
Weight compared to size: nexus 7, the ipadmini 2 became heavier from 1 gen to 2 gen.

and well. lots more of things, you may notice that.
and it's not that IPAD MINI 2 is better, it's not, it's worth double. if the nexus 7 would cost $600 it would have maybe an armv8 processor or a much better screen. it's obvious. the price matter. nexus 7 wins.
if you want to get then a fast phone / tablet get japanese ones, they have the best processor technology / screen technology, but no services like google has.

To me, it's a bit moot. They aren't for the same platform, so it's not necessarily more cores is better, or more advanced cores. It's all in how the software uses it.

Free in Android but ad-supported. The problem I find with Android is there aren't nearly as many tablet-optimized apps as I expected there would be, this late into the game. Many are still stretched phone apps, sadly.
iOS is way better for kids games, imo, than Android is. The quality of the kids games on iOS is much farther ahead.

iOS doesn't "truly multitask" but the iPad mini has at least 1GB RAM, and iOS has always been the standard by which OS "responsiveness" and "fluidity" is measured.

It's not necessarily that Nexus 7 is clearly better than iPad mini either. It really depends on what the person wants from the tablet.
Your points are clearly looking for things that you like about the N7, and that's fair and all. But being honest about the differences, and not skewing them to suit your view, is really what "fair" is about.
Different devices, different prices, different target consumers, imo. The price is a big factor in that, as is the ecosystem.
We can just simply enjoy our devices, no need to try to convince ourselves that we made the right choice, whichever that may be. :good:
Kit Kat is the main reason I'm keeping the Nexus 7...

First, do you have any source for the release of kit kat? There hasn't been anything official about the release of it at all... So that's already reducing your credibility.
Second, is there any proof that the modification from that company will be included with kit kat or released later on down the road? How can you be sure that it's going to be included in this os?

I tried flexycore's droidbooster app on my n7 and HTC one, both running jb 4.3, and it showed an 5.5-6 times performance gain. I wasn't very anxious for kitkat (hate the candy bar) but since I found that out I am.

It shouldnt matter what other people say or do. I dont care much if people call me a phandroid or isheep or whatever. I see the value in an apple device for specific purposes, same as i do with android devices. Does it make me blind or less intelligent that i don't only own one of these devices? To each their own.
The world has much bigger problems than apple vs android.
No... Everything is around apple vs android.
It s mega companies not paying any tax in usa.
Everybody is losing. No winners.
I find Nexus 7 preferable because the weight(mini retina have a huge battery and is going to weigh more than old mini as a result), width (Mini is too wide imo),aspect ratio(Ipad's 4:3 stinks for HD video contents), price( Nexus 7 is $180 cheaper) & Android.
But if you are looking for a 4:3 tablet then you have no choice but Ipads.

ipad is not a bad tablet. but, when compared to the nexus 7 , it's difficult to get an ipad since n7 is like the half of the ipad price.
and, if kitkat get's that "boost" with gpu optimization, apps optimization (in november every android tablet will get this via play store) , RAM optimization,etc.. will be amazing, much more amazing than a $600 ipad mini 2.
Right. The kitkat will be ready for thanks giving or right before.
They need it to boost n7 sells.
Many will decide to buy the n7 if battery match or beat the new iPad mini 2

What the f are you talking about. Apple and Google are just corporations who sell electronics made by borderline slaves in the developing world. Why are you taking sides lol, it makes you look pretty pathetic haha.

I'd love to hear how you quantify "ahead." Not that life is a race, but in terms of things like personal freedoms, over population, economy, etc.. I disagree in a very large way. For sure you are right that China cannot fairly be called "developing" or "3rd world," but neither is it hardly a place I can imagine someone from USA, Canada, or Europe willingly immigrating to.

Ah, the*Galaxy S III. We always knew it'd be a keystone among Android smartphones, but according to the AnTuTu benchmark suite, it'll be the one device to rule them all. While there's no way to verify whether this test is indeed legitimate, all Android users may currently peep the AnTuTu app, which not only shows the smartphone as having bested the mighty*Transformer Prime*tablet, but it also reveals the most comprehensive set of specs we've yet seen for the Galaxy S III -- again, take this with a grain of salt. The device is said to wield a Samsung*Exynos 4212 SoC*with a dual-core 1.4GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM and a 4.7-inch, 720p HD display. This lines up similarly with the*product listing*from Amazon Germany, as the specs also reveal a 12 megapixel primary camera on the rear, along with a 2MP shooter on the front. No big surprises for the OS, which is listed as Android 4.0. Should the benchmark tests turn out to be legitimate, the*HTC One X*will no doubt have some very stiff competition.

Won't the nexus that comes around xmas time for the past 3 years running have similar if not better specs and sport the pure Android first in line upgrade experience for users? Same logic would suggests that the Galaxy S4 would just be a few months behind that nexus then. Galaxy phones have been coming out around mid year where nexus phones have been coming out end of the year, and then tack on a few months more for carrier delays. The Galaxy phones have all been about specs and design. Sides, with enough developers working on it to push out AOSP roms, "pure google" isn't that hard to obtain.

Right, and carrier delays also force the nexus to come many months after that new Android update as well lol. Unless you're going to switch away from Sprint and going with a GSM carrier, Sprint's Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus both came 5-6 months after their international brothers.
Personally I don't understand why everyone loves the nexus so much...It has the exact same specs as the S2 but NFC capable and worse camera. I don't get it. It's the CPU/GPU that are pissing people off, and I completely understand because I am too. The Galaxy s phones are supposed to be powerhouses. The previous two were faaaar ahead of their time. This phone uses some A9 chip with the old Mali400, which has been long outdated. All they did was overclock it. That GPU can't render triangles if its life depended on it.
What about audio chip. I have an Sgs ii and dont use it because it cannot record videos under loud conditions such as concerts. All you get is noise.

Really -- I mean from information we have now, which one will you take Tegra3 GPU or Mali400 clocked at 440Mhz? or Adreno 225?
Everyone knows about low memory bandwidth issues with Tegra, and Adreno isn't that a powerhouse in GPU. Samsung has always stated multiple times this year that their aim is battery life and efficiency.

Recently power consumption for mobile devices have increased a lot and mobile devices have limited cooling capability....Samsung optimized its 45 nm processor for performance first and later found it could not get its full performance without exceeding power consumption limits. The 32 nm chip was optimized first for power consumption

That's an interesting comparison between the 4 GPU's, most benchmarks I've seen lean towards the Adreno 225 or the PVR MP2 used in the iPhone. How much more power would really be used by a Mali T6 card over the Mali 400 :/

Go to a store and try out the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 (when available) and see how you like it.
Google tablet specs are great, but tablet choice is really a lot of personal preference.

I consider performance and battery life to be excellent on my Nexus 7.
It is a device I carry every where.
It is the first thing I use in the morning (before getting out of bed) and the last thing I use at night.
And I don't see how any of that is of any use to you. You are not me.

At home we have an iPad and our smartphones have all been Android. And I'm now considering an Nexus 7 tablet for my 10-y-old daugther's Xmas
To answer your question, I'd say it really depends on your ultimate usage of the device. In my opinion, iPad really beats Android on its much wider offer of games, kids games, education apps and kids interactive books... If you're not game-oriented, especially kid-games oriented, then give-up your iDevice for an Android device (the Nexus 7 seems great)... because on all other aspects i believe Android is superior...
The other point you should be taking care of is the screen size: The Nexus 7 is more comparable to a iPad mini... moving from an iPad 3 to a Nexus 7 might feel a bit frustrating... you may be considering a Nexud 10 or another 10" tablet

Looks like Google will be discontinuing the nexus 7 8gb after only about 4 months. People who bought the 8 gb should be mad at Google and all the people who bought the 16gb for $249 in July should also be mad at Google for dropping the price by $50.
I have both the iPad 3 and Nexus 7. Love the Apple hardware and incredible battery life (especially standby), but don't like the restrictions and closed os. Liking the android os more and more, and the nexus 7 is a great piece of hardware, so good that apple is scared to death. If you want a smaller tablet nexus 7 is a great choice. However, the "old" iPad 3 is still one of the best big tablets on the market. It may be discontinued but it is far from being a dinosaur. I would say buy the nexus 7 and after a month if you find you aren't using you iPad anymore, you can still sell it for a good price.
Im also a recent "shifter" with ipad and iphone being my 2 devices i always carried around with me, as many others im getting of apple, not so much because of feeling limited (all my devices are jailbroken) but because after so many years on little change in their system, it's just plain getting BOORING, so this time i thought i jump the android boat!
WOOHOO! nexus 7!
the first week or so i still carried my ipad with me in my bag, but it stayed there! - in my bag lol, i don't use it anymore, nothing i could do on that i can't do on nexus 7, im also a tech dude (is i was a fairy i would be a tinker fairy), so i enjoyed all the things i could do and CHANGE like i wanted, of course the first thing was to root it and install custom firmware, not because it was needed but because i could
for me, the nexus 7 is so much better than ipad, but as i said i also love to tinker with my devices a LOT, for kids on the other hand, i think ipad's are more "safe" and easy to use.
the only 2 (well 3) things i noticed from the beginning, and got a little disappointed about is battery life and no microphone pins in the audio jack (can't use a microphone in iphone headset), but disabling the wifi when sleeping made a huge change in that department, and the microphone problem i solved using a BT dongle that has microphone it it, and normal audio jack for any headset (Jabra Clipper), 3rd thing would be the fact that there's no way of expanding the internal storage, but i survive with having lots of cloud services + a usb otg cable with a 32gb memory stick in
but as others here also say, you have to try and make your own discovery and judgement, this is just my experience, i love it and im never going back, already dreaming of replacing my iphone with nexux 4
and by the way, my first task with the nexus was to be able to do anything i did with the ipad, and i succeeded! + a lot more
hope it helped a little, but go try it, you will never let it leave your hands again

Apologies for a question that's certainly been asked before although mine might be a little different.
At the moment I have a HTC Desire S that's served me well for a while.
I've been debating upgrading for a while and I have been waiting to see what the HTC One Mini was going to be all about. However literately today I noticed the specs for the Nexus 4 and Samsung S4 Mini and was wondering if it was really worth buying the HTC One Mini.
So I did a bit of research with the Nexus 4 and I the price of the phone is just to tempting to ignore especially for 16GB. I also realised that potentially the Nexus 5 is going to be released soon.
Basically, I wanted to know if it was worth waiting for the Nexus 5, however my additional question was relating to the size of the Nexus 5, is anyone aware of how big it might be? I don't want anything bigger than the Nexus 4 Ideally as I heard a rumour it might be one of those phablet (spelling?) types?

There has been no word from Google that they will even make a Nexus 5. If they do it won't be available for sale till late November early December so you're looking at waiting 4 more months. You also take the chance that it will be a lot more expensive than the Nexus 4, a good $200 more if it has a larger screen and LTE and top of the line hardware.

If a Nexus 5 were to be announced, it's likely Google will base it off the Optimus G2 which should be LG's flagship phone, most likely selling it for $500+. In that case I think it's hardly possible that the next Nexus will be cheap.. Go for the Nexus 4, I am
I've had my Nexus 4 since launch and I absolutely love it. Great build quality and as fast as I'd ever need it to be.
However, with that said, if I were in your shoes I would hold out till the Moto X is announced officially next week. It looks to be a very promising phone and I like the fact that it will be less fragile than the Nexus 4 and have a better camera. Supposedly it's beating out the Nexus 4 in benchmark tests as well.
I imagine you will love either phone but definitely wait until you see the official Moto X before making your decision.

N4 blows the Moto X away in specs.
I'd say wait for the N5. What can the N4 do that your phone can't?
Buy the Nexus 4. If the Nexus 5 comes out and it is similarly priced, buy that too.
The good thing about Nexus devices on the play store is that their cost is not prohibitively expensive. Also, as mentioned...there has been no official word at all on Google's end about the Nexus 5.

Why do people keep spreading this false information? Right now for all we know the Moto X has much better specs than the Nexus 4. But even if we just stick with the rumored leaked specs, the Moto X STILL pulls out on top...

Hey man, I literally got my nexus 4 a week ago and honestly I couldn't be happier with it, for me the screen size is perfect as I'm not a fan of these gargantuan phones. I was thinking of waiting for the moto x but I'm fairly impatient and with no "official" announcements yet I decided to take the plunge and get the N4. It looks good feels great in the hand and is far cheaper than most of the newer handsets. I've personalised it to my liking and certainly won't be upgrading anytime soon

Where are you getting that antutu score for the nexus 4? It isn't uncommon for the nexus 4 to break 20k+. That score is certainly not a good representation. Benchmarks in general aren't. Don't base opinions regarding to performance on benchmarks. A touchwiz GS4 can easily score 26k+ in antutu but in real life usage has lag, stutter, and slowdown (in which case the Nexus 4 beats it outright in performance IMO)
Benchmarks don't mean s***. Don't base any decisions on them. try out the phone for yourself.

I couldn't agree more with you about benchmarks. Just trying to show that there really is no proof at all that the Moto X won't perform as well or better than the Nexus 4. Just because it doesn't have a quad core CPU doesn't mean it won't be optimized and fast. I fully anticipate the Moto X to be as fluid or more fluid than the Nexus 4 as far as usability goes.
I'm personally looking forward to it and if I were in the OP's shoes I'd hold off on buying anything until they see the full release of the Moto X.

I agree. The Nexus 4 is already pretty damn smooth as it is (ESPECIALLY on 4.3 ). An improvement on that would be phenomenal for the moto x. We are at the stage in the smartphone game where specs themselves don't mean much anymore because software optimization is becoming really good (look at iOS and Windows Phone). I think Android 4.3 further solidifies that notion. I'd say to the OP, no matter what modern smartphone you decide to buy you can bet on it that it will be a fast and efficient phone. We're not in 2010 anymore.

Once you make the decision of getting the new model you will see there something newer is on the market. The moment you holding and using your phone is priceless. Why think too much just grab the phone when you need the phone.

Well said... Always confused when people ask others to help them make decisions especially when there is Google. All the information you need is out there and nobody here knows more about when G5 is coming then you do or Google. Buy what you want to buy and keep it moving, its a phone and it will be obsolete the moment you buy... LOL
N4 and rooted with custom kernel will keep phone cool, battery lasting long and a smile on your face

I want the 7.7 since release date, but never find one here in europe. After many tabs like a nexus 7, Gtab 8.9, Asus Fonepad, SonyZ, Acer and many more, i found a shop 1 month ago that get a contingent of new 7.7. In times of quadcore i buyed it for 250.- brand new and like it very much.
The best tablet i ever had.
For a 2 year old tablet its very good. better specs like the tab3 and other brand new devices. Asus present the Fonepad but the 7.7 could do this years before.
Iam so interested why no producer makes a tablet with specs like the 7.7. Thin, sdcard, umts, phonecall with 3g, 1280er display bigger then 7 inch and a very good accutime. Only the p6800 had all this like 2 years ago.
most premium looking tablet. i hope the next one is borderless since we dont usually hold this by the bezel, leave that for ipads and 10 inchers.

This is the best designed tablet. However, it's limitations rests on Android. For tablets, we need a full fledged operating system like Windows 8. Not only is Windows 8 a complete OS, it runs 100x smoother than Android.
We can have a 8 cores 9000 Ghz CPU with 5,000 GB rams. It will still lag on Android. Sorry, but my next tablet will be windows 8. For mobile phones, Android is ok.
Just waiting for a 7-8 tablets to be released with windows 8. It's too bad that I will no longer have the call and text feature of the Galaxy Tab 7.7.

Enjoy your "complete" OS. Cm9 ROCKS this tablet with tremendous battery life. Btw you might want to invest 1.2k or more if you want windows 8 full with no lag, and not just the RT version since it's not a "complete" os. Oh and don't forget a shoulder bag to haul the thing in. I've messed with a few of them but the battery wasn't that impressive and they were way heavy (the guy was hauling it in a backpack). A laptop would have been a better choice than a full x86 slate IMHO, but by that time the argument is "laptop vs desktop". Rabbit trails.
Good luck!

No phone capability so I guess it is more of a replacement for the P6810.
Large screen phones are a rarity. This company's Aries range looks promising though I doubt they will match the build quality of the 7.7

No... No oled ---> ignore!
Friend of mine decided to flash off his new 8" Note 3 last week, insisted on showing everyone how good the screen quality was.
He decided to show an episode of Horizon (BBC Science TV show for overseas readers) about black holes in 720p, funnily enough I had that episode on my 6800 so we played them side by side.....everyone in the office said ".....Oooo the picture on that older one is so much better...much sharper and more vivid....." he wasn't a happy bunny!
Don't know if anyone noticed but a 6800 sold on ripbay UK last night for £180, in good nick with the box and accessories.
I've got 3 6800's and a 6810 now sitting in various docking stations doing assorted things, just wish there was an official 4.2.2 release.
Ho Hum
My 7.7 is my baby. It's my main device for everything, entertainment, odd games and portfolio device. The device I read the daily news and catch up on tech news, reviews and read xda every night in bed. My wife knows not to disturb me when I and with my baby lol.
I have a note 10.1 also which I doodle with. I have the same apps on both but I just don't find the note tab satisfying to use like the 7.7. It's not just the looks, it's the whole ergonomics also. 7.7 is the perfect size for me. Big enough to read websites on and small enough to carry around. I love how thin it is and how premium it feels.
I'm amazed that even though the device got the all clear by the courts (Apple being jealous and trying to hinder the sales) Samsung should have expanded on this design. The 10.1 is ugly at best. The 7.7 looks beautiful.. like a Porsche.
It's a shame, I am tempted by the New 2014 note 10.1, that does look nice but it still is a little off. Also I'd prefer a smaller size. And then there's no amoled. This is a big booboo.
Sadly the 7.7 is feeling the strain. It is getting old and a bit slow. I always need more ram and on the p6810 I can't use multi window. I really love this feature on my note 10.1 and would love it for the 7.7. Thing is can I justify spending a couple of hundred quid for a p6800 - an old device that I know is slow for some tasks already just to get multiwindow?
Hmmmm decisions decisions....
Sent from my GT-P6810
Man, I love the 7.7 but since swapping (and cutting) my SIM into the new Nexus 7 FHD LTE, I haven't looked back. I rarely used the dialer on the 7.7 since I also carry a phone, and I can always make voice calls using GrooveIP if I need to.
The thinner bezel on the Nexus 7 means I can put it in most of my pockets now. The 7.7 is really chunky compared to it, and for not much more screen space. True, it isn't SAMOLED so colors aren't as punchy, but much sharper resolution. Plus, no lag! The 7.7 was always laggy, sadly

Totally agree. Just the right size, great screen, great feel... To see a 7.7 v2 for /2013/2014 would be fantastic. Screw Apple for litigating this tablet out of popularity and therefore dev support :/
Was looking at buying a new tablet a few weeks ago.
What I wanted:
1. HD AMOLED screen
2. Can make calls
3. 7-9"
4. Can install AOSP-style ROM
Nothing that you could buy new fit all these criteria except for the 7.7 which was released 2 years ago!
So I bought a 2nd hand 7.7 for $250 and haven't looked back
Only thing that I think could be improved is a faster processor and more stable custom roms and it would be perfect!
Finally sold my 7.7 tablet + my android phone to give way for a Note 3. I have to let go of bringing and maintaining two android devices (Phone + tablet) at the same time. I really love this tablet but sad to say, some good things really never last.

4:3? $399 for 16GB?? It would take a lot for me to buy a Touchwiz Tablet over a Nexus but this would do it. If that is how it will be I will be buying a Galaxy Tab S 8.4" instead of this thing. 80% of my daily tablet is usage is watching videos of some sort and 4:3 just don't work for that at this age.
Plus I wouldn't call the spec impressively, 2GB Ram is standard nowadays and Tegra K1 is nice, but 2048X1536(reported as 2048x1440 due to onscreen buttons) is lower res than Tab Pro/Tab S 8.4 and Kindle Fire HDX(all are 8.9" and smaller with 2560x1600 res).

I can't see Google going with 4:3 and only 2gb of RAM. Both are non starters for me. I would buy a Galaxy Tab Pro before this and deal with the darn physical button(s).

Out of all the specs listed I was most surprised that it is only rumored to have 2gb of RAM. With a 64-bit processor in tow, I was expecting more. Just remember that these are just rumored specs. Still $399 is a little steep, however I would still pick one up over other devices just because of quick updates, hopefully easy boot loader unlocking and, quality ROM development.
I agree that I thought the spec's to be a bit lack for such a long wait (Q4) but the upside is the 64-bit processor. I got tired of waiting so I ordered a Tab S 8.4 and I will buy a Note 4 when it's released. . I am at the point with Android that I think it works well in regards to performance and I usually replace my devices every couple of years so I am less reliant on updates. I haven't even rooted my latest tablet ( Note Pro 12.2). So in other words I will be passing on this one.

Yeah the Tegra K1 is certainly an interesting processor, and it will be interesting to see how Google approach 64-bit Android. I agree with you that Android is at a point where rooting and rom'ing to get enhanced performance has perhaps seen it's hey dey, but regardless of that, there will always be those who love to tinker Why Google seem to be going the route they are is beyond me, I would rather have a slightly less premium build quality in terms of material used to cut costs, but obviously there has been enough demand, or their have been enough voices raised for them to ditch plastic in favor of aluminum. I will just stick with my Nexus 7, it already does everything I need it to do, and it's at a price that I can live with

I concur with what you said, plus Nexus 7 have the aspect ratio that I prefer(16:10). So if Google wants to sell Nexus 9 with those specs and 4:3 aspect ratio then I will just keep my Nexus 7 and wait till a new 16:10 Gpe/Silver Tablet or the next 16:10 Nexus tablet instead.
Also, reading that a LTE model could cost $600? I was really hoping for more. But we will know offically next week at I/O. If thats all we really have foward to, I will probably make Galaxy Tab S 10" my next device. I have been wanting a bigger tablet and LTE. I was hoping for it here, but if this proves to the final model. Ill move on. I love ease of rooting, unlocking bootloader and contract free. We know Nexus targets that middle ground. But if this is the middle ground with high end pricing, im not so sure they will make a impact.
Only 2GB of RAM blows my mind.

Not sure if they will say much about Volantis/flounder at I/O if it is due in Q4, the most they do is show off some Android L features like how Apple did with iOS8 at WWDC.
I do get the feeling they will announce a few new Gpe/Silver devices as 4(Galaxy S4, HTC One 2013, Xperia Z Ultra & Gpad 8.3) out of 6 current Gpe devices have gone out of stock recently. I am hoping for a Galaxy Tab S 8.4/10.5 Gpe release.

Same here, Basically this a device that is out-speced by the recently announced Galaxy Tab S 8.4(same price and have SD slot) in every aspect aside from the SOC. It would be a really tough sell at its Q4 release date.

I would most certainly go with a GPE Tab S. But i want the multi window. Is it on Nexus 7 2013 through Xposed? I haven't look. That's probably the only feature that i would like. Especially on a 10"

It is not a xposed feature, it is an OmniROM feature that is still in early beta. I think it might work eventually but if you want stable multi-window I guess you have no option but to put up with Touchwiz for now.

I don't care for tw, but like the multi window feature. My only hesitant waiting for another rooting and unlocking exploit for a Samsung device. There is always hope. But I love the ease of,
fastboot oem unlock.

I don't believe any of this news (rumor) neither the date nor the aspect ratio (4:3) I believe aren't consistent
