Hi, Tried to install root through odin for the first time but the install didn't complete.
Now my sgs won't boot anymore.
It gives, the firmware upgrade error.
I can boot into download mode.
When i try to flash the original firmware for the i9505 it gives an error (something about a pit file missing)...
What can i do to get my sgs4 working again?

seems partitions are corrupt so try getting the 16GB pit file and set it in odin with the repartition option enabled..... and try flashing the new firmware
Under normal circumstances, DO NOT tick "re-partition" during Odin flash of firmware.
Only tick "re-partition" if you have the PIT file as described in previous post
Ensure any firmware (double check !) is that for your specific model.

There's a .pit file in the DOWNLOADER folder at this link: moulnisky DOT com/index.php?dir=Samsung/Firmwares/GT-I9505/
I haven't tested it so don't know if it works, but there you go.
P.S. I had the same issue and restored my phone using Kies firmware recovery mode: samsung DOT com/us/support/SupportOwnersFAQPopup.do?faq_id=FAQ00048586&fm_seq=52928
I found the odin or mobile odin is unable to flash the baseband ZHUDMI1, XXUEMI8 and XXUEMJ3.
When I use odin to flash, the whole process is success but the baseband version in the handphone doesnot change when viewing.
If I use mobile odin, the process will stuck at the blue robot and the last line shows" Modem #2 Clearing..."
Unless I use odin to flash the whole rom of XXUEMI8(4.3) and the the baseband will be undated to XXUEMI8. I would like to know what is the problem.
Which files are you using to flash the baseband?

All the files I downloaded are from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025
and the Odin I used is odin3 1.85, odin3 3.09 and mobile odin 3.76. None of these works.
But luckily, it seems that my baseband is not flashed and remain as old version and working.
In the post it recommends you use Odin 3.04 and untick "Autoreboot", you should try following these instructions to the letter and see if it works!
Ok it worked.
If anyone else is having issues with the baseband not changing, do this.
Use Odin v3.04
Untick Autoreboot
Flash modem
Reboot once again into Download Mode using (Vol Down plus Home button combi)
Flash Modem once more
Once done, unplug then reboot device manually.
If this doesn't work, try repeating the flash process again while rebooting manually and with auto-reboot option turned off.

If it ain't broken, don't fix it, I have never actually tried ODIN v3.09 but v3.04 and even 1.85 still work well. And you can flash that through PDA in those versions of ODIN.
However if you must use ODIN v3.09, use 'AP' option and place that file you mentioned there. Cheers!
Here you find the how to for flashing with Odin ( post 1 ) You only need the tar.
Pda in Odin 3.09 is AP

My galaxy s4 is rooted on 4.3 MK2 for the Sprint SPH-L720, the phone will no longer boot up because i flashed a wrong file. The phone will go into stock recovery, and download mode. Any ideas on what to do to fix?
Doesn't seem like you searched. If you can get into recovery try and flash a ROM if you have one in your memory, or wipe data and see I'd that boots your phone. If none of those two work you can Odin MK2 tar and that will bring your phone back to life.

Odin should not be failing unless its a bad download, your computer doesnt detect your phone , or there is the chance the phone itself is done.

What does odin say when you try to start the flashing of MK2 tar?

Odin detects my phone and goes all the way through till system image. than fails.
So i am downloading a different mk2 file but its taking forever and hopefully that works.
You need to use the newest Odin which is 3.09 if you are on MK2, also make sure you are running Odin as administrator. With 3.09 you put the tar file in the AP slot. Also, here is where you can find a fast download of MK2 that is known as good: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2601443
Here is a copy of Odin 3.09:

Hello,
I haven't tried to flash any other firmware.
I bought the phone in hong kong and the old firmaware was:
Product Code: TGY
PDA: N9005ZHUBMI7
CSC: N9005ZZHBMI7
MODEM: N9005XXUBMI5
When I tried to flash the new firmware I got the following DOIN error:
ODIN: ext4 image file failed.
I'm downloading the BMI7 firmware as it is the old one.
I'll try to flash an MJ7 before.
Thank you.

Every time when i flash the device with odin i just use the file firmware tar.md5 in AP
No need to specify other, but you can try if your problem persists, :-$
You have been tried a custom rom or just tried a simple update stock rom on your device?

Hi Guys,
I downloaded the latest stock rom TGY MK1
It worked fine.
I wonder if there is any possibility to flash some european roms.
What is important now is that I have my phone working.
Thank you very much.
