Hello to all,
I write because success is a major problem.
This morning I updated my samsung galaxy s4 to the new version 4.3.
since then when I receive a call the phone no longer associates incoming numbers with those stored in memory!
I, for reasons of convenience I have set all the numbers in my memory with the international prefix +39, +41, +44 etc.etc
now all incoming calls obviously did not include this code and have not been recognized by the phone that showed me just the phone number ..
how can you fix this problem?
thanks in advance

Hi, I just upgraded to the new ROM and now whenever I get a call the caller ID decides to include two additional 1's in front of the number. I can understand adding one 1 because I live in the US, but the other one? For example for a 203 area code it will show up 1 (120) 302 9355 1....This is a HUGE problem cause it distorts the whole number and the numbers in my phone book don't match. Please help!!! Is there a registry hack or anything I can do?
It's possibly to do with the US international dialing code being +1. When I was in the US there seemed to be no standard way of specifying international numbers (because the US/Canada don't follow the conventions used in the rest of the world) - when I got a call from an international number, it would sometimes show as +447740123456, or sometimes 011447740123456, or even worse, sometimes 0114477401234 (cutting off the last few digits of the number!) - that was for calls from the UK. This seemed to vary by whatever network I was roaming on.
What I do notice though, normally the caller ID works pretty well regardless what junk shows at the start of the number, as long as the last 8 or 9 digits match it tallys it up with the contact number...
Not sure how you can fix your problem, I expect there is a registry value which sets the phone number format for various places in the world, but I dunno what it is. I'm guessing you upgraded a US-based ROM (T-mob/Cingular?) to a European/ROW ROM (i-mate/qtek?)
Actually no, just updated the ROM to universal English, just keeping it simple. I had no problem with this ever, and its frustrating becuase yes it is an international 1 at the beginning but it screws up the area codes, so therefore the wrong number gets called. Since i use this for business and need to store many of the incomming calls in my phonebook its been the biggest hassle and would appreciate anyone that could help on this matter.
Thanks guys. I have cingular.
By European, I meant a Q-tek/i-mate based ROM as opposed to a Cingular/T-Mobile based ROM. Since the most up to date ROMs are Q-tek and i-mate, I assume you updated to one of these (which aren't targetted at the US market). Hence, WWE or not, there would appear to be some setting for the US phone system and the rest of world phone system.
Hi all,
just wondering about an issue, that must concern many who have two SIMcards, one for business and one private.
I normally have my private SIM card in the device (TRION), so that when I call friends, they see its me through my caller ID. I have my business SIM card diverted, so calls are transferred to my private number.
The trouble is, I cant see on which card the call is coming in, since I cant allways identify if its a business or private call by the caller ID in my display, cause sometimes I just dont knwo the number or there isnt any. After hours I just dont want to take business calls, but taking out the diversion is to much effort.
Nokia devices have a little arrow that indicates this. Does anyone have a clue for WM5 ??
Greetings
Paddy
I've got excactly the same question. I already thought about connecting a second device with the buisness card to my pc at home and enable/disable the diversion with the help of a webinterface (and call it via start menu).
Anybody outthere, that knows a fix ?
I would be extremly grateful! donateful ;-)
Paddy
I've the same question .
Hi Guys,
I am lately seeing this issue. When I receive international calls, I dont see the plus code (011) in the callerid anymore. Also, these numbers dont get identified from my phone book who have the numbers with the plus codes (011).
thanks
Hello,
I have a HTC Touch Diamond 2 bought 2 months ago. There is a problem that only occurred recently (worked fine before, so I might have configured the settings incorrectly)
Problem:
My contacts are stored inside the sim card. Before when my friends called their name would display on the screen. The problem now is when they call me (their numbers are all already stored in the sim card) only their number is displayed on the screen and no name, and I would have no idea who is calling if I don't recognize the numbers.
the odd thing is if i check my call history afterwards, the names come back up. so it is only not showing when it is ringing
this isn't one of those area code problems, my area doesn't use the area code during calls (hong kong), so adding the area code in my contact list doesn't solve the problem
Is there a way to fix this problem?
Thank you.
in advanced config>phone set caller id to 8 & reset.
I had a similar problem a while back. The only thing that solved my problem was a hard reset.
maybe this helps..are you using activesync?

Hi all,
Just got my G6 H870DS recently.
When I call people, they don't see my number so I show up as an unknown caller.
I have been to the caller setting and set my caller ID to always show and it doesn't fix the problem.
I didn't change SIM card or phone carrier when changing phone and it was working fine on the LG G3.
This is only when making an international call.
Local calls display my number.
Anyone else having this problem?
Anyone know how to fix this issue?
Thank you
