I'm experiencing issues with some earphones using my CX500 the right earphone does not sound. And then I have have tried the stock earphones and phone it works but sometimes the right side is quite and then sometimes perfect?
Anyone else got any issues? Sound like my plug could be bad? Time to contact Samsung?
Edit: Very odd, software glitch. Reboot its fixed itself

Does anyone else have this issue where sometimes when you plug in headphones the sound still comes through the speaker? I have the headphones plugged all the way in. I usually have to restart the phone to get it to work properly.
[Edit]: When this happens the sound comes out from the speaker as well as through the headphones.
Mine is more of when I bump the headphone jack it either plays through the speaker or pauses the song. It seems very sensitive
My first Vibrant had a faulty headphone jack, that would short out with even the slightest touch. You guys might be in the same boat.
Overall, yes, I would agree that the headphone jack is 'cheap'. It seems as if it could be easily broken, and having one arrive DOA is not a great sign.
If you're still able to, I'd take your phones in for a swap. You're not going crazy.
Same issue here. It's especially an issue when you're sitting in your quite cube at work about to watch The Bed Intruder video on YouTube and it comes blaring out of the speaker when you thought is was going to come out of your headphones.
I think the third connection point for the video causes the problem since the device has 3 contacts instead of just left and right audio like most devices.

Hi guys I am new, First post.
I really enjoy almost everything about the Focus. I bought it because I was so happy with my Zune HD.
I was underwhelmed when I plugged in my Grado headphones tho. Perhaps the Zune is just very high caliber, but It seems like I am missing some lows and the soundstage seems flat. Does anyone know what sort of Hardware went into this phone? If the hardware is good, is there anything I can do software or backend to make it sound better?
I have a second complaint. When I stick a headphone jack in the mic turns off, it probably is expecting an inline mic with the headphones. My problem is when I then go to pull out my headphones the phone doesn't notice and will continue to not hear. It takes two or three times reinserting and pulling out the headphones to remidy this. Is anyone else haveing this issue.
Since flashing 3.1 I have been having a very odd sound problem
The only way i can think to explain is is: The TF seems to forget it has external speakers after a few seconds.
post reboot I have no sound from the speakers, no screen clicks etc. the volumes are all set to on, nothing is muted.
if I then plugin headphones and play some music,I hear the sound through the headphones without a problem.
I can then unplug them and have normal sound UNTIL I stop the music for about 5 seconds. after that time the speakers no longer work again until I reset them with the headphones.
Anyone have any ideas?
Unrooted TF WW running US 3.1 update
Quick update, I have flashed back to 3.0.1 and factory reset, still got the audio problems...
might be a second RMA for me then..
Im having a problem where I plug in the headphones and a weird German metal song comes on. I have no idea what app it is playing from or how to disable it.

You have a problem with audio too? Wow. My problem is on the headphone jack.
I saw your thread, but the problems we are having are ver different.
I have a work around for mine at the moment, so will wait and see if the official 3.1 fixes it this week
if not, RMA time.
Good luck with your problem.
hi bibilko,
I have the same issue since i bought it. It was stock 3.1.
What I have noticed, is if I plug a headphone it works. I then put the sound lower then 75%, unplug the headphone and then I have sound.
If I increase volume more then 75%, the sound gets killed in a couple of seconds.
What is your workaround?
Is this a software issue or hardware? The moment i set sound to 100% it kills and i have to repeat the steps.
This is not an issue related towards android whinking a headphone is plugged in when not.
thanks
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this - I will play some music using Power amp or double twist and randomly the headphone audio will stop and will start playing through the speakers. It seems to be related to notifications I believe which try to play through the speakers which then steals the audio away from the headphones and back to the speakers.

Haven't had the problem, but you need to isolate the problem to software/hardware first if no one else has reported this type of error. A loose plug, loose wire, cheap or faulty headphones as well as sweat in earbuds could all false signal the plug into thinking the headphones are not plugged in. Try switching them out to a new pair and check for loose plug after you insert them. Then, I since you said it is random, but try and find a situation where it can be repeated to see if it is on the hardware side.
A couple suggestions. Faulty headphones can cause all type of hardware and software bugs with the 'smart' devices that detect when they are plugged in (voltage sensing not just a mechanical switch like the good old days...). Hope you can use something..

Does anyone else have an issue with the audio cutting out when the volume is up high when using headphones? For example, during a phone call, if things get loud, the audio will start popping.
Something's telling me that I may have to RMA, but other than that, I have no other issues. Screen is perfect and I don't want to lose that.
I have the same issue

I have tested this on myltiple earbuds headphones and the same issue occurs every time. Any one have any ideas before I take it back under warranty.
