N9000 camera Vs N9005 camera
Hello guy
I'm so confused about the camcorder differences of N9005 and N9000 version.
Does N9000 has 120fps filming?
I heard somewhere that the only difference is that N9005 has 4K capability. However, some say that N9005 has 720p 120fps filming, a capability that N9000 lacks.
Can you please clear this up? Are they only different in terms of 4K filming?
Those who have N9000 version please post a sample of 120fps filming if their phone has that capability.
Thanks in advance

do you think 4k resolution is that important? the max resolution we may see is 1920x1080, so even if it up to 4096×2160 (4K), you don't feel any difference.
there are many difference between N9000 and N9005, like N9000 is with Exynos 5420, supports WCDMA/GSM, N9005 is with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, supports LTE 4G/WCDMA/GSM

so many version....

the mexican version with telcel is n900w8, ad stated in tecel official page

YES, it is a huge difference for some people like me, who use the note's camera for slow motion footage and 4K resolution videos, because not all of us watch the videos only on the note, but also on a 4K screen. (or using a screenshot of a 4K video as an image -> editing in photoshop etc)
So i think we would like to know the detailed specs and differences of course. In 2 years there will only be 4K displays on sale for TVs and computer screens.

According to: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_note_3-review-996.php
Video recording:
N9005: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]
N9000: [email protected]
N9005: Quad-core 2.26 GHz Krait 400 CPU, Adreno 330 GPU; Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset
N9000: Quad-core 1. 9GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7, Mali-T628 MP6 GPU; Exynos 5420 chipset
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (the Snapdragon 800 edition) premiers 2160p video capture, more commonly referred to as UHD 4K or just 4K. It translates to videos of 3840 x 2160 resolution, or in other words, four times the resolution of 1920 x 1080 FullHD clips. The latter is also available on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in standard 30 frames per second mode along with the smooth [email protected] video recording.
Note that in 4K video shooting you can't use Dual Shot mode and doesn't allow stills capture during recording, while in 1080p recording you can snap full-res 8 MP 16:9 aspect images.
30 fps FullHD videos carry the bitrate of around 16 Mbps, while 60fps movies take about 30Mbps. Audio is captured at 122 Kbps with a sampling rate of 48 kHz with 2 channels (read stereo). The more interesting 2160p video recording mode carries a very high 47 Mbps bitrate (almost three times that of 1080p videos) for the same 30 fps framerate. Audio is recorded with a bitrate of 123 Kbps with the same 48 kHz sampling rate.
During 1080p video recording you can zoom up to 4x times with the Galaxy Note 3 retaining the same quality up to 2x zoom (because the camera is capable of the double 2160p resolution). Beyond the 2x zoom, things start to downgrade rather quickly.

Samsung I929 Galaxy S II dual-network support

It appears that Samsung has quietly released a new member of their Galaxy S II family. The Samsung I929 Galaxy S II Duos is the China telecom version of the extremely popular http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i92...h_dualnetwork_support_surfaces-news-3569.php#SMARTphone and is the first Galaxy S II device to come with both CDMA2000 and GSM support. The I929 Galaxy S II Duosis built around a 4.52" WVGA Super AMOLED Plus screen and features a 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU. The company hasn't published the exact details of the chipset, but the clock speed of the CPU suggests that the Galaxy S II Duos runs on a modified Exynos.

No, it doesn't have a WCDMA radio (it seems) so there is nothing you can do.
If you want one with WCDMA (aka UMTS or HSUPA/HSDPA) go with the international i9100 if you want GMS/UMTS there is also the SGH-T989 which goes by the SGS2 name but has very different hardware Qualcomm vs samsung exynos.
Depends on which part of the world you live in.

that's correct it will work on wcdma only. In china, different telecom companies use different radios. China telecom uses CDMA 2000 while China Unicom uses WCDMA. China Mobile uses GSM only.
I ask my self why Samsung can't or whon't to release an I929 for europe with WCDMA and all that we need.
-why only for china????

[Q] Pre-ordered I9500 - LTE question

Hi,
I just confirmed my back-order for the I9500 (and the product description is mentioning LTE eu which I believe means Europe). However, I'm a T-mo subscriber.
Does any one know if T-mo will support the European LTE (or in other words - will the I9500 will work with T-mo or AT&T LTE network?)
Thanks,
Gil.

Hi! Us Tmobile User Here! Sadly no. The i9500 does not come equipped with 4g LTE chips. Mainly due to Europe's lack of a reliable network. The i9505(international) on the other hand does support LTE, so does the us version (SGH-M919). But buying one of these phones is somewhat of a waste knowing there could be compatibility issues with your network. In simple terms, stick with you i9500. HSPA+ IS NOT BAD. On paper it has a 42mbits max while LTE IS A WHOPPING 100MBITS. But the problem is paper stats dont translate well into everyday. Many times i find my self enjoying faster speeds on my HSPA+ phone then my LTE friends, variables like network congestion and signal strengrh can all factor into this. So yeah, stick with your I9500, the lack of LTE will only save you battery:laugh:!

I think that the lack of LTE for the i9500 is now updated. This is the spec from the website I've ordered the i9500 from:
Network: 2.5G (GSM/ GPRS/ EDGE): 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz; 3G (HSPA+ 42Mbps): 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 MHz; 4G (LTE Cat 3 100/50Mbps) : up to 6 different band sets(Dependent on market)
Display: 5 inch Full HD Super AMOLED (1920 x 1080) display, 441 ppi
Processor: 1.6 GHz Octa-Core Processor
OS: Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean)
(they had the rest of the spec, cam, etc. but its not relevant for this thread).
This is the site: http://www.expansys-usa.com/samsung-galaxy-s-4-smartphone-black-mist-16gb-unlocked-247538/
As you can see, it is the 1.6Ghz Octa core and it does support LTE per this spec. The question is - will it work with the US (T-mo and AT&T) bands?
Thanks.

AFAIK there won't be compatibility issues because the GT-I9505 will support all global LTE frequencies and standards. And what you said about LTE in Europe is wrong. There is a "reliable" network in Europe but it works on other frequencies than in US and moreover most countries in Europe will get the GT-I9505 version only. What you said was the case with the SGS3 but now the Exynos version (GT-I9500) will be officially in only few Europe countries.

Negative. I spoke to them and had them look up the exact model with their procurement. The version they are getting is sourced from South America and DOES NOT have LTE despite it saying so on their website. It appears that many websites have made this same mistake because like Expansys they have simply reposted Samsungs description but it does not discern between the Korean version which is an Octa with LTE and the rest of the (announced) Octa variants which do not have LTE.
delete.
International phones are on International Baseband. US phones are on us baseband. If they were the same then there would be no US-International. It would just be one baseband. So i doubt it will but you can still be open to possibilities.

I've seen that, but their descriptions are really confusing. Some marked LTE, some marked LTA (not sure what that means), and some are marked just GT-i9500. Those which are marked just GT-i9500 say that they come with a quad-core, which should not be; the GT-i9500 is supposed to be octa-core. GT-i9505 is quad-core.
Which is which? Also, there are 16, 32, 64GB versions on the website; I doubt we will be seeing something higher than the 16GB version for the release.
Also, if I order the octa-core version. When will I get it, approximately?
Hi,
I'm having real trouble finding info on this so I hope you can help.
I have a standard 3uk 3g micro sim card in my international GS3. Can I use this card in an LTE enabled GS3. Is the LTE device backward compatable. I don't expect to get LTE coverage I just need to know if my sim will work as normal in an LTE device.
Yeah it is. If there's no 4G it should revert to whats next available such as 3G

If you want to:
-Pay 200 dollars more expensive(import tax + local seller commission)
-Have a bigger size(korea version is thicker than us one) and have stupid korea restriction(sms limitation, etc...)
-Take a phone who only support Korea 4G frequency and imcompatible with all other country
You can surely go for this version. No problem!!!

Hi, since you have the korea version, please show us more pictures about its size, what difference does he have other than the fact he get overclocked processor and compatible LTE? Some physical difference? Bigger than us one? Thicker? Some restrictions? Do you mean that with your app, you can use 4G LTE in the US and in other countries? Also where did you buy your phone? How much does it cost? Thank you.
The overclocked processor settings was dropped before it's release. It's now 4 cores at 1.6 and 4 cores at 1.2. I'm guessing because of heat issues.
Just doing a backup will make the phone heat up quick. Plus, the battery life isn't good.
I should have waited two more months before buying a S4.
I too want to have the octa core S4 with LTE to use in the US and don't want to settle for anything less. Some sources say that the S4 Exynos octa-core supports 20 LTE bands, but often responses from people say that the Korean LTE S4 won't work with US LTE bands. Wiki contains some info on the S4 and LTE bands but I'm a noob so it's not clear to me why it is a definite no for LTE in the US.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S4
SHV-E300/ - Korean with 3 variations: K, L and S
K: GSM, DCS
L: CLR, IMT
S: CLR, DCS
GT-I9505 - International version
800, 850, GSM, 1800 MHz, IMT, IMT-E
SGH-I337 - AT&T
700 MHz (Band 17), AWS, IMT, IMT-E
SGH-M919 - TMobile
700 MHz (Band 17), CLR, AWS, PCS, IMT, IMT-E
I'm targetting to use the S4 on Tmobile LTE. So according to that info Tmobile supports 6 LTE bands, some of which are also listed under the K, L and S variations of the Korean S4. To me that sorta implies that Tmobile LTE would work, but then I'm a noob and not sure how that works out. I don't know how reliable the Wiki info is so it'll be great to know. I've also seen sources that say the Korean S4 supports LTE bands 1/4/7/17. The info are scattered around and carriers don't specifically release these info so that makes things even harder.
But assuming the wiki info is reliable, if you can explain how it works or not work would you please enlighten the rest of us. Thanks.

i have a shv-e300s too, and i have used lte because of skt hidden menu by switching to option lte all on the network mode because it doesnt have the option lte band 1 like your app do. and a few days ago my lte suddenly stopped working and i don't receive signals from my network when i switch to lte all. do i need to root it first? im from the Philippines by the way and my network use band 1 for lte thanks bro

Wind - Galaxy Note 3 - T-Mo N9005 or CDN N900W8?

If LTE is available via the T-Mo Snapdragon 800 processor and the upcoming 700 MHz spectrum auction, I think it's a no-brainer.
Future-proof for LTE network and, via its 4k camcorder, for ultraHD TVs.
Region lock doesn't seem to be an issue thanks to ChainFire (root).
Thoughts, other concerns?

[Q] Why N9000 and N9005 are together?

Note 3 N9000 and N9005 are different equipments, so why they are not separated like others devices (S3, S4 and Note 2)?
This will avoid questions like: "Is this for N9000 variants or N9005?"
It's just my opinion...

The handset is same, the only difference is one is 3G while the other supports 4G and processor. All the other things including OS and other hardware is same, so there is not point in making it a different device? Besides you can't launch Note 3 and Note 4 on the same day

Exactly...
Other devices like the ones i mentioned have different threats so this one needs also...
Thread here basically is for N9005.
I do agree shall separate the N900/N9000 vs N9005.
N900/9000 - Exynos 5420, Mali T628, HSPA.
N9005 - Snapdragon 800, Adreno 330, LTE.
I don't want to start another thread just to ask this question, but more roms and kernels will be available on n9005 version, right? I have the option to go with either n900 and n9005. I know one has LTE and the other doesn't. All I'm worrying about is which version would have the most dev support?
Completely agree that they are different phones with different firmwares/software and better be separated...please.

I don't know now that the 900 seems to not have the knox issue.
But the source for the 9005 will be more open.

Bootloader locks? KNOX? Region locks?
Where to find the answers please.
