[Official] Best Buy GS3 thread

Ordered your GS3 from BB? I feel your pain, never gonna preorder from a 3rd party again. But if you have any info re: BB preorders, post it up here.

I gotta say, my whole reason for preordering through Best Buy was because they were the first to open for preorders. They started accepting preorders on 6.5.12, everyone else the following day, so I surmised that at best I'd get the phone slightly before everyone else or at worst the same time as AT&T. The sad truth is that although I preordered before 99% of the people here, I'll likely be one of the last to get the damn thing.
That being said, I'll never preorder though Best Buy again. They are as wildly uninformed as AT&T but when push comes to shove, BB gets pushed to the side as if somehow it's customers (who's money goes directly to AT&T just the same) aren't as important as those who preordered through AT&T direct. The one's who lose are us, the customers. Lesson learned. If I ever preorder a phone again, rest assured it will be direct from the carrier.
Sorry for the rant, just sucks to see so many people who preordered after I did get their phone, or at least shipping confirmation (with delivery eta 6.21.12) before I even know if my preorder is going to be filled on or before 6.21.12 as stated on my preorder receipt.

I preordered in a Best Buy store and have no reason to think I wont be able to pick my phone up tomorrow.

Yeah...I ordered from Best Buy as well. But ain't quite ready to rush the joint with torches.
We shall see what tomorrow brings.

Two BBs around me both said the phone was coming out tomorrow. So I'll be up and on the phone seeing if I can buy an unreserved one

Do you get shipments overnight, or early morning?

Why not wait a year? I remember all this fuzz a year ago with the GS II. Now you can get a GS II for 99 cents...

I called my local store (Watertown, MA) a little after 10am and they had no idea when the shipment was going to come in. I've also tweeted @BestBuy. I'll post if/when they respond.

Morning shipments. Best buy does not do any inventory things at night. They will arrive in stores via UPS or FedEx.

I pre-ordered mine at Best Buy, my gf works in mobile and just called and word is they haven't got their UPS shipments in yet today(due in any time)but RSS is still showing they should be here today. So I'll wait before I grab my pitchfork.

Yeah...gonna wait until noon to call. Fingers still crossed.

Just went into my best buy store here in frisco, texas. When I arrived the salesman showed me an internal email they received that stated that the pre orders would be closer to july first before they would be filled.
As I was walking out the salesman called me back over to show me a new email they received that said the preorders would be fulfill tomorrow.
Bottomline, the store doesn't have a clue nor does the best buy home office.

Just called my local BB (Corpus Christi, TX) and was told the SIII was delayed but hopefully they'll fulfill pre orders this weekend. I was 14 out of 25 pre orders

Mine told me they didn't even have a date for sprint yet lol. I'm going wherever gets it in store first.

Couple guys in the main Sprint pre-orders thread said they received calls from their local Best Buy telling them to expect a call around noon tomorrow to pick up their phone. They were both expecting shipments by tomorrow morning.

There's a thread going with T-Mobile pre-orders in the Q&A forums. I pre-ordered on the 18th, first date it was available. Had an estimated delivery date of the 26th which came and went. My card was just charged yesterday, thinking they will start shipping today or tomorrow. My status is still as backordered.
This whole pre-order thingy is whack, should have just waited till Wednesday and gone in to get the N3 and Gear watch same time.

I pre-ordered on the 19th. My cash was held on Friday but I haven't received any shipping info. I've called in asking for the status and was told they won't ship anything until the 2nd. I'm thinking I should have just gone into the store since I ordered ground shipping and will have to wait that long now. Kinda sucks.

I feel yall...whats the damn benefit of preordering if you get it when the stores get it...hell you could save on the shipping cost...COME ON T-MOBILE

Now that you mentioned shipping that just made me more upset, $25 overnight shipping to get it maybe 1 or 2 days later than stores? WTF....
Also if there is a problem with the device, ordering in the store is MUCH easier because you can just walk in and swap it out. Online orders you have to ship it back to them, wait up to a week for them to look over it and hope they don't lose it (they lost my S4 for 3 weeks in their receiving warehouse) then mail you out another and you get charged $5 for a "swap" fee.
Top it off, you can't cancel the order once you pre-order it. This whole pre-order thingy stinks of BS. T-Mobile rep said to wait for it to ship (whenever that will be) then wait for the UPS man and refuse delivery, that's the ONLY way to cancel it. You'll lose your shipping charges too. Nice eh?
I forgive them though, they did get my LG G2 delivered to me 2 weeks before the store release date. =)

I had to order mine online to quality for my promotion (10% off service and $50 account credit). It also claims I'll have 2-4 days to wait for it (free shipping, no expedited option was available). I'm willing to be patient to save $218 over the course of two years, though

Went to the closest T-Mobile store yesterday. They will start selling them tomorrow. They will only get 8. The sales rep said I should be there as early as possible. I will have it first thing in the morning.

I called 5 stores and visited one in person on Monday. All the stores have them in stock and go on sale Wednesday. I didn't hear anything about low stock from any of them. Most likely the rep just wants to get you in there asap to get a commission, lol. I had one rep badger me to sign up with service now, then come back and buy the phone on Wed, lol.

I'm in SC and will also pick my note 3 up tomorrow around 10am we they open. And my area has 2 locations each with only 8-10 black in stock.

I was also planning to pick it up in store, because the preorder didn't really seem to have any advantage to it.
I did some calling around, and it does seem that each store isn't getting too many units. My local retailer is
about 10 minutes away (running), and it opens at 10 AM. I'm also actually a college student, and I have a calc. lecture
until 9:50... I'm really tempted to leave class 20 minutes early. haha. Is it worth it?

The T-Mo Corp Store I work in as a RSA got 15 of the black only. We do not have a Demo phone to show customers. I will be buying my phone tonight before I leave the store. Most of the stores that I talk to got under 15 some got demos some did not. My store has never sold out of a Galaxy phone on day one.

Same here at my local stores nether received demo phones because even though I planned to get it I wanted to check it out first o well...

3 hour count down. Stopped by the T-Mobile store again yesterday. They have 8 black and 5 white in stock. The rep said he doesn't think it will sell out early. Still I start work at 9:30 and I'll be there at 8:30.

G2 using Slim Bean

Well I have had mine since 1034am and so far I'm not liking it as much as the mega 6.3. It's basically the same size as the note 2 the no big difference there. There is auto correct while typing. It is rooted however the system is keeping certain root apps from working, such as wifi trevE mod which I still haven't figured out. Anyone that has a work around on the wifi trevE mod please by all means help me out with a link & screen shot of the settings. Thanks in advance.

Best Buy in Store Purchase

So I tried 3 Best Buy location this morning.
The first said they only had enough for the people who pre-ordered, and that they might get more in tomorrow.
The Second said they don't have any and don't know when they will have any.
The third (at a major mall) said they were sold out, but might get some in later today or tomorrow.
The good news is that I was told by a manager that they have extended the $200 working phone trade-in deal until November 1st!

That's good news about extending the promotion, I pre-ordered on the 12th, I still haven't received an email from BB, I'm hoping to get it over the weekend.

My local store got enough black for preordered plus additional 2 for walk ins. Didn't get enough white to fill preorders.

T mobile nexus 6 cheaper for cyber monday

I have a blue 64gb on backorder called customer care and have them credit me due to the phone has not shipped and the price has been reduced. I don't know if this breaks any forum riles I just wanted to make anyone who has their phone still in backorder to check this out. I made sure enough get the csr name and ID number.

I didn't have the same luck. The CSR I spoke with said that she didn't have a way to credit me (64GB ordered on 11/24). Maybe it's because mine is new service and I don't have an account yet? She said that I'd have to do a new order on the web and then refuse the shipment of the first order. She also said that the 64GB is backordered with no information on when they would be available.

So for the people that ordered the 64gb version in-store on 11/19, are we screwed? Or is there some way to get credit for this? I see it says web-only orders but I still don't even have the phone yet and opted to pay in full for a new account/line.

I ordered mine in store last night? What's the new price? I got a 64 gig also.

Just called tmobile..I mentioned sale and they said I could cancel and reorder...then I mentioned I'm using Jump! was put on hold and they are crediting the eip on the nexus 6 in 2 weeks. CSR seemed to think I'd have the phone by Dec 15 to apply the credit so we shall see...
I ordered on the 19th for what its worth...makes the 64gb basically the same as the 32gb was initially... I'll take that and wait for my whale.

Yeah it seems to be only for current customers. The csr also looked at my account. This phone release has been nothing but issues. But I guess this makes it a bit better since we are getting the phone for what the 32gb cost.

Mine is on backorder [emoji24]. Although if it ships at/after christmas that's OK....should be getting cases in my stocking.

I was on the phone with T-mobile for the past hour trying to deal with this, but eventually they took care of the issue.
Essentially I am a new customer - single line - switched from Verizon - paying for the 64gb Nexus 6 in full - but ordered the phone in store and paid the taxes in advance on 11/19 after specifically asking if they normally have black Friday/cyber Monday deals and being told no. I asked if there was a way to cancel my order somehow or reorder the phone with the current deal etc, because it sucks to be out $50 when I have been waiting 2-3 weeks for this damn phone being on backorder etc and still do not have the phone in hand (on top of being told that there wouldn't be any deals). They said that I would have to refuse my shipment because it's already shipped, re-order again right now and wait for the new one to get to me, and then they would refund me for the old phone so that I have saved a net $50. So then I asked what is the purpose of wasting both parties time and money when an account credit would be fine for me? They apparently didn't think of that.. and said it would be no issue lol. I'm not the type of person to go complaining to get free stuff, but this legitimately sucks because I was told by a manager that there wouldn't be any deals and I might as well just order the 64gb now while I'm already here.
Overall even though T-mobile's customer service is set up somewhat clunky, I am very impressed with everything they've helped me with so far (had to deal with them 3-4 times already in the past few weeks). Verizon would have told me to go **** myself.
Hopefully this helps anyone that's in a similar situation.

Just go back to that same store and get the price adjusted. They should be able to do it.

Too bad those people ordering today probably won't see their devices until February. Or, T-Mobile just might screw us early orders over again and ship items ordered today by x-mas. Which will make me hate it even more.

yup, if it was a 32gb either just returned or some new stock there is a good chance you will see it soon.

No dice here. Spoke with customer care and they transferred me to the "buyer's remorse" department. Both said the only thing I could do was cancel and reorder, but I would be placed in the back of the line for the phone. Not cool....

I just got off the phone with customer service. I ordered and received my phone the week before Thanksgiving after being told that they didn't have any deals planned. The CSR I spoke with today couldn't change the monthly charge, but did credit the $48 against EIP.

I bought mine on GPS with Discover.
It has 90day price protection.
I'll see if I can pricematch it to tmo's.

I just ordered two more. From the mobile app I didn't see the 2-unit limit.

Most of the alternative cases which were about $9.99 have gone up to around $14.99.

just sign up for a free prime 30 day trial and you can order another 2 per account.

damn, we only had the 49 Euro's ( 51 USD ) deal in germany yesterday. Orderd mine yesterday and got it yesterday, love the new same day delivery for free.

I was able to make three purchases of two each to get 6 total. When I was submitting the third and final order, it said I had just made a similar order and did I want to continue. I told it yes and it went thru. 'Course, now I won't get em until 21st or 22nd of December, but that's OK.

If anyone is looking to get the Fire in the US, ordering it from Best Buy online for in store pickup is the best way to go. I ordered it this morning and it is already in store whereas amazon has it backordered until December 17th+. You could probably cancel your orders and buy it this way instead.

Yes. Same price. Much more convenient IMO.

UPS says mine arrives on Monday. I don't think I've ever been so excited to get a $35 gadget, haha.

Not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, but the price was too good to pass up.

One of mine arrived yesterday, the other should come around the 30th.
Anyway, this is a pretty good device so far. I made sure to replace the Fire OS with CM12.1 and now it really flies compared to the original Kindle Fire. At first I was concerned with the resolution, but now I'm fine with it not being 720P. I mean for $35 I can't really have it all.
Also I would suggest using the Supertool posted in the index.
