Nexus 7 (2013) Shipping Thread!

It is July 30th. Where is my Nexus 7 2?
Order from Google Play on the 25th and haven't heard a peep from Google,
nor anyone on the internet saying they have gotten a shipping confirmation.
Meanwhile I bought a wireless charger from Samsung for my N4/ N7 one hour ago and it shipped already.
Hope this is not another debacle.

Ordered mine on the 26th or 27th from amazon and its arriving today. I always buy my stuff from there

I ordered Amazon Friday around noon and paid $20 for Saturday delivery. Been playing with it all weekend.
Just cancel your order and buy one locally. Sucks though.
Wasn't there a big ordeal last year with them being late and taking forever to issue refunds.
It why I never order from there. I was pretty happy with Amazon... But I always am.

I could buy one right now, as I'm standing just 3 blocks from a Staples that still has 2 in stock.
Also Tigerdirect is selling it with no tax on Amazon.
But I rather deal with Google. A lot easier to get a new one in case something goes wrong.

Not really. They'll just send you to ASUS for any issues other than replacement.. If you get a bad one returns are pretty easy most places.

Going to try in a little bit. Will report back but I see no reason why this doesn't work/ Also, living in Florida, computer products are tax free this week for back to school. Other people I have come across have reported that tablets fall under this category, which makes sense.

Damn, nearest office max is 40miles away. Had one been closer I would have bought anew 32gb and return my staples 16gb -$30 coupon.

Very nice! I wished it was tax free in CA. I also bought OM protection plan for 2 years. Anyone have experiences with OMs protection plan? Debating if I should cancel it. The girl that worked there said I can return the tablet in any condition within 2 years and either get it replaced or refunded full amount with a gift card. Sounds too good to be true.

You should see if there is a deductible and whether it covers lost/stolen and physical damage.
$54 off is amazing. I would jump on it before OM decides to exclude certain devices or cancels the coupon. I paid full price at Amazon the first day it went on sale (Friday). Paid $300 for Saturday delivery. Returning it and buying locally would be lucrative. I wonder if Amazon will price match if I call them. Tell them I'm within my 30 days and I can save $54 if I go through the hassle.

Just took the coupon up to Best Buy to see if they'd price match a refund since I bought mine on Friday, and they did. I walked out with $49 cash in my pocket. Thanks OP!

Yep. It's in their best interest to do so, otherwise I'd return it and then buy another for the matched price. They don't want to end up with an extra used device that can't be sold new.

Just curious (and I'm really not trying to start some big discussion), is BB still doing the scan your driver's license and send to 3rd party analysis thing (for PMs and returns)?

Got mine from BB last week and used a GC for part of the purchase, called them up and they said they do not price match post sale.
But are you saying if they did give a refund from a price match after sale....and you used a gift card for part or all of the purchase.....you only get $10 back?
I also thought the salesman at BB told me when I was completing the sale, said "You can not return for refund, you can only return for exchange."
Of course it sort of went in one ear and out the other as I thought to myself....why would I think of returning for a full refund.

Yes, I had a $50 GC so it knocked it down from ~$300 to like $247.

[Q] Who preordered from Best Buy?

I've been checking the status every since I saw that thread about ABT and TD shipping before the release date and I noticed that my order status says 1 item(s) Status Not Available.
Is this normal?

I preordered from BB.
I've been told repeatedly that it will not be there til 10/10.

lol did you try and see if you could use the fact that people on here have already gotten theirs as a way to get yours sooner too? I'm just worried that there is a problem with my order. But I guess it saying that the status is not available doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem... right?

I'm not familiar with Best Buy's pre-order process, have they already charged you? If they have, I wouldn't be worried.

It shows up in my transactions as a pending charge. They said they would charge the card once the order was shipped, but I've just signed in and I don't even see the pending charge in there anymore.

Ugh... This sucks... they say there doesn't appear to be a problem, but I'm being told that they won't even ship it out to me until the 10th.. Why would I preorder on line if I can just go to BB when it opens on release day and pick one up?? I knew I should have just ordered from Tiger Direct...

I canceled my order with BB. Tiger Direct just got one more customer.

Was in best buy today and peered in the cage in the Samsung area of the store and what did I see? Boxes of note 2014s... Right there in plain site. Asked the sales guys about it and they said no, we don't have them. Took them over to the cage and said what is that... Oh man we can't sell those until the 10th so we better hide them. Wouldn't sell me one but they did open the cage and put them out of sight. I mentioned they were already shipping from other retailers but they wouldn't budge. Oh well, wait for the preorder shipment.

Well hopefully I'll still be able to get it on before the end of the week (Thursday or Friday). I usually go home on Friday afternoons to visit my parents and I'd really like to be able to set up the device over the weekend so I can have it ready for school on Monday.

I preordered from Best Buy only because I didnt have any funds available on my other credit cards. That might be a plus since BB's protection plans have always done me good so I got that for my note too. My order says "in progress" and when I click on the actual note line item, it tells me status not available. When I made the purchase though it did tell me it wouldnt ship until the 10th.
But now it makes me wonder if I should just change the method of shipping to pick up at the store.

Yea I placed an order with Tiger Direct, and I'll speak with them tomorrow or Monday. If they can't promise me a tablet by Thursday then I'll cancel my order with them and just call my local Best Buy and do an express check out. For some reason I don't have the option to place a pre-order for in-store pickup. Hopefully Tiger Direct will ship mine early, but I'm not expecting much. I'm prepared to just go to BB right when it opens to purchase on in the store. I've learned my lesson. I won't fool around with pre-orders anymore. Better off just picking up in store.

I usually get all my devices in white (in this case white 32GB) but thinking I should have gotten the black. The back part getting dirty is starting to get to me since I'll be using it every single day for hours on end. Here's hoping they ship today. I'm using this tablet for college and it would be great to have the opportunity to have the weekend to get it ready for next week.
That's only if my anxiousness doesn't get to me and I don't cancel the preorder to pick up at the store. ^^;;

amazon and essential web page.
I want to also get the extended care or the 2-Year Multi-Device AD Protection Plan if it's from amazon so my question here is:
Anyone can recomend me if i should buy it from amazon or essential web page?
the benefits of buying it from amazon is that i can get the phone the same day for free, but i don't know if getting it directly from essential will give me the chance to have a better build phone vs the early ones with cloth speaker issue etc...
i don't really know how long it takes to get one from the essential since i leave in the west side of US and i heard that the phone is coming straight from China?
also it looks like both extended protection plan works the same but i will like some feedbacks from actual buyers from amazon and essential.com

I ordered my device on the 13th day before the $200 price drop and while Essential is refunding people in my situation without hassle, Amazon wants me to ship back both my phone AND 360 camera (since I ordered them bundled) and then reorder them.
On the plus side - my Amazon issue phone from 2 weeks ago came with the newer grille, so that's most likely what they've got in stock.

I ordered from essential on Sunday and got my phone today. FedEx before 1030. Saved on tax and I was able to finance cd it through affirm with low monthly payments. Price was 499 only on essential that day. Amazon and best buy followed the day after.

Sounds like, even tho I will only save around 20 bucks, it's better to buy directly from essential, It will only take around 5 days and I have no rush yet to have it on hand.
I'm planning on compile on this phone once we have the proper device tree available but that won't happen yet...
Hopefully soon. It all depends on essential devs

Could you look on your box and see which month it was manufactured in? Mine has SEP at at the end of one of the numbers, I assume that is the month of manufacture. Thanks

Definitely a head Turner. The phone is utterly beautiful. Feels so solid in hand. Am trying Google camera and essential camera. Essential updated camera app again yesterday and it seems solid.

Mine has the SEP also, but that's the SKU, it doesn't make sense that they'd change the device SKU every month. More likely the USEP at the end is United States Essential Phone There will probably be a slight variation for other colours or if new kits come out, but not months of manufacture.

That makes sense. I wonder if there is a way to tell if it is an updated hardware version without opening the box?

Ordered mine through Essential a week before the price drop. Contacted them about the chance of a $200 refund and was told anyone within the return period would see a $200 refund within 1 to 2 weeks credited to their method of payment. Credited the next day!!! Gives me the impression these guys are serious about keeping their phones in the hands of satisfied users unlike most OEM's and carriers. Works great on Verizon by the way....

I can't see why i'm getting charged with taxes when some people are saying is tax free if i order through essential.
also noticed one priced $540 on swappa (including the 2 years extended plan). i think i can save some bucks like that.

You're getting taxed because Essential has a physical presence in California. Any time you buy something online, and that company has buildings in your state, taxes are required.

they should and will provide a tracking number. I end it up buying it from essential as well, but as you can see on the below link, it may take longer than i was expected

There are side by side pics in another thread on here. Can probably give it with a quick search.
The issue was the original cloth/foam grill would fall out, leaving a little gap. So they changed it and made it metal.
I have the original one, it is not a big deal, unless you are really OCD. In which case, seek help. Lol

$100 Google Credit with Pixel 2 purchase

Cyber Monday deal from Google Store.
Going to have to give them.a call and see if they will give me the credit since I only received a week ago.

I bought it Sunday, called Monday. I was told no. They can't refund or even adjust purchased phones after an hour from time of purchase. I now have a second pixel 2 coming and I'll be sending the first one back.

At least I know next time. Next Pixel release I'm not going to buy it until several months later. I could still return mine, however; I'm not going to b/c I'll be stuck with a lot of credit until next year.
I traded in my Pixel 1, so if I return the product the refund will probably not happen for a week in which they will refund the cash portion and re-apply my store credit from my trade in. If I were to re-buy it, I'd be out the immediate cost right now as the refund won't process for awhile so no prior store credit will be able to be used.
Next time I know. The trade in process was a disaster and you'd get more selling it independently. If I bought cash only then I'd do it, but the store credit complicates things.
Plus my Pixel 2 doesn't actually have problems so I feel like I won the lottery as it is LOL

i chatted and they gave it to me no problem. bought it on the 16th november. just got off chat about 10 min ago giving me 100$ credit after 30 days of use. (project fi).. and sending me an email for the google home mini. logistically thats just dumb. lets send a new phone out. pay for shipping pay for return shipping and still giving out the credit. makes no sense.

They pulled this stunt last year, said there were going to be no BF/CM deals and then had something. I decided to hold off on my purchase for just that reason to see what they would throw out for cyber monday.

Yah, mine went from shipped Nov 28, delivery Nov 30-Dec 1 to Shipped Nov 30, Delivery Dec 4-5. Wtf Google.

I just got a tracking number too. Looks like it is shipping overnight, arriving tomorrow. So I guess that isn't too bad - even if it is 2 days later than they originally said.

At least your getting overnight (granted you paid extra).
They should be doing it for free since they are now 4 days after my original delivery date.

Ordered it on cyber Monday night and checked status today that it was delayed. They didn't provide a new delivery date, just that they it was delayed and I would receive an email when it's shipped.
Does anyone know if it's because they are trying to process all the orders they received on cyber Monday or is it an issue with limited stock?
I would prefer the former explanation rather then limited stock, since it could be quite some time before it actually ships if that's the case.

Did they really get hit with more orders than they could handle? I just have such a hard time imaging that this phone is selling so hot they can't keep up with stock.

I don't think it is a stock issue, rather a fulfillment issue. And yes, I think they got enough orders Monday that it slowed down getting them all out the door.
