Well sent my Droid Maxx to Motorola Repair Service for a Screen replacement. They received it Sept 13. They sent me a email stating that they have not received my device on the 15th.. So I call them on the 16th and said there was a email problem on there end and yes they have my phone and was in the system. So on 25th check web site on status on my phone still no received status. Then called motorola again. This time they could not find it and said, we will call you back later with a replacement..(sounds funny) Motorola did call back later and offer to upgrade me too. Droid RAZR Max..So told the uneducated person, that was a down grade...Then they apologize and put me on hold for at least 10min. Then came back and said no replacement...repair office has moved, it has only been 8 business days and They still can not tell me where my phone is...reminds my of where's the beef TV commerical...Next Chapter coming soon.
Well to continue with my further madness. Call Motorola Repair Service, Oct 4th They still can not find phone...So asked them to replace phone, the rep: said no replacement or new phone...(let me see . Motorola makes phones and they do not have any... Now that is funny ) but wait, now they are going to send me a check for full purchase price $749.00 ....Great !!! (New maxx for soon...) Check will arrive 4 to 6 weeks....So I will continue this post when I receive check or attorney.....

file a complaint with the better business bureau
I sent in my RAZR HD a few months ago. It was a nightmare. The people you call don't know squat. It took days for it to show up as received. Then days later it showed as shipped. They didn't give a tracking number but it did up the next day. I think total it was 8 days without a phone. I'm not sure I'd mess with their warranty service again.

Brother you have got to call them up and pitch a ***** the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Tell them you want your phone now or a new phone sent to you but their incompetence is not your problem or fault. If you don't like there response ask for a supervisor and keep going do not let them brush you off. You will get what you want you just have to be proactive.
Man, how horrific.
I swear, the more I read stories like this, the more I think that if this doesn't change fast I'm going to switch to an iPhone in 2 years. If there's one thing you can say about Apple it's that they support iPhones better than anybody. To the point where it's ridiculous how bad everybody else is. Asurion is no substitute, as they either cannot repair phones or, even 5 weeks after release, can't get any Droid Maxx phones in for replacements.

Feel your pain in the same boat send my Ultra for screen replacement 9/18 got the email they didn't get my phone when it got there the 20th. Took till the 24th to process it in. Paid the fee on the 24th called and ***** on the 27th why my phone was on hold, told 2 day hold on non payment. Said paid three days ago what's the next excuse. Had to be transferred to the technician to get told I should have my phone by 4th at the latest. Checked today 29th phone is still showing on hold??
Should be end of story, they owe you a brand new phone...NOW.

I can give a slightly more upbeat story: some hassles, but a 10-day timeframe.
-FedEx delivered them my phone on Tuesday morning, 9/17.
-On Thursday I got an email saying they didn't have it, so I web chatted and their support said "the repair facility has it; we'll make sure they update the system."
-On Friday Moto sent me an email saying it was ready for shipment back to me (they replaced the device though I just paid for a replacement screen).
-Monday 9/23 they printed the shipping label for second-day back to me.
-Tuesday it wasn't showing picked-up on FedEx's site, so I called. They escalated me to second tier within five minutes; she said she'd talk to the shipping facility and call me back. A couple hours later she called back, said they'd just misplaced the box and that it would now ship overnight.
-FedEx picked it up on Wednesday and delivered to me late Thursday, 9/26.

guys... be careful playing games with high graphics for long periods of time. as the heat further separates the screen from the case.
I wonder if this is where phones are built as well as refurbished? It would explain the poor build quality of their products. I had returned 6 RAZR Maxx phones because they were put together by monkeys.
This new Droid Maxx is suffering the same cover creaking/gap issue.

Make sure you have the batteries in properly
If it's out, it seems on back-order everywhere. I checked Amazon and they wanted less than both Motorola direct and AT&T, but I ended up going into an AT&T store and asked if they could match and they did, free shipping too. It's not due to ship until March 8th, but Amazon said the same thing. Just need to be patient.

I would buy another one and refuse delivery when it does ship. If they still charge you, dispute it with your card. Tell them this is what you're going to do when they say they won't cancel it. If it hasn't shipped, they can still cancel, no matter what they say.
I had a phone on order, when I found it cheaper at Best Buy. I bought the Best Buy. When I called AT&T to cancel my order (18 hours after placing the order), they told me it was in the "shipping process." I asked how to stop;return it. The CS rep said either wait until I received it and then return it for credit, or refuse to accept it when delivered. When it got back to the shipping origin it would be automatically credited to me. He recommended the latter, just refuse to accept from Fedex. I did that, and 3 weeks later a credit showed up on my card. It worked!
Its been like 2 months now and i still haven't got it. Yesterday i got an update email from att and was literally screaming and jumping up and down in my computer chair thinking finally its about time it ships out! well then i read the email and the order has been canceled! Couldnt they of told me that a month ago?

I called and complained to Verizon about the LTE upgrade and the woman was very nice and sent me a box. I just dropped my xoom off at FedEx to head in for upgrade. Maybe if you call they will do the same or I just got lucky. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up!

Got it back yesterday, all is good, was wiped clean, not any real changes I can see. I'm in the Tampa market and I can say Verizon 4g kicks sprints 4gs ass hard. If I could get my unlimited sprint plans on Verizon I would change today.

This site does not truck with BS artists and those things have a way of working themselves out here. I trust the OP more than the whole batch of Motoxprts combined. (They aren't all pieces of crap but they had a bit of a credibility problem for a while there. I can understand the caution, but I'm content with the OP's statement.)

Im calling BS till Pictures are shown of the upgraded device. I spoke with both Motorola and Verizon yesterday for approximately an hour each, Supervisors in customer retention et cetra, they sure were not offering to send a box to my door to ship it to moto for a upgrade (I know, I asked) spoke to "Caroline" Verizon customer service ID 2047489 and her supervisor. Try giving them a call their as clueless as the deceptive Motorola staff.
i already have a box for a different issue. You think if I send it in they will fix it and throw the lte upgrade in for the heck of it?
How about going into settings and getting a pic of u holding up ur 4g upgraded xoom. Where it shows the build and version. The reason it's hard to believe is that so many of us have called and gotten no box to ship ours out. I have called and gone to every vzw store within 150 miles. None of them have had a xoom upgraded yet. As far as I'm concerned motor can send my 2 4g cards to my door! The damn bionic is crap! Why would I trust a cheap tech to put my cards in without screwing them up?

The person didn't have a clue what I was talking about and got a supervisor that did know, she apologized and sent me a box, it was that easy. She probably wasn't suppose to do it but all Verizon employees and Verizon contractors as well as fortune 500 customers have all received the upgrade. It does exist.

I work for Verizon Wireless Corp here in Lansing Michigan as a retail sales rep. I had sent my xoom tablet in a couple of weeks ago during an Employee Only offering to test the process of upgrades to the Motorola Xoom. The whole process took about 4 days including the ordering of the box they send you. Was kinda hesitant due to the fact that I really customized alot of settings ... apps that arent avail any more..etc., So I sent it in without backing anything up (took a "Big" risk of losing my stuff), once I got it back my xoom had plastic protection on the screen , documentation of what was installed and a new build number " HLK42B ". Once I turned my device back on with fingers crossed.... all of my apps, movies, settings everything was how i left It. Was very satisfied with the care they took and notifing me along the way by email once recieved, completed , and sent from repair location. The 4G in my area is beyong what I expected. For those on the fence well worth sending it in.

I ordered a Black One last week via uSwitch. The £30 upfront fee has been deducted(not sure if they deduct straight away when ordering) on 02.04 and T-Mo have done their in and out of £2. When I called yesterday I was told that they will send an email before they ship, which I am still waiting for. They also said that they were expecting stock in yesterday, but I assume that was BS as their facebook page is saying next week in many instances.
I've spoken to them twice today and in the morning I was told stock will be in either today or tomorrow and in the afternoon they told me that they've received an email from HTC saying the delivery has been delayed till next week and they're looking at Tuesday (9th) or Wednesday (10th) for posting the handsets at the earliest.
Called tmobile direct to see if they can match the pricing but won't budge from £26pm for the tariff and £170 for the handset up front which is ridiculous.
Will just have to sit back and wait now.
That really sucks. Will just have to be patient I suppose. Not too worried about waiting another week I suppose it will arrive One day

Well I took the plunge and signed up to the £26 T-Mobile deal and 29.99 upfront because it seemed such a good deal! Not to mention the HTC media thing (if I get one!)
Got all the way to the end and it said I'd been referred and the number on the refer page didn't ring / nobody answered. Then got 2 missed calls from a T-Mobile 0845 number and haven't heard anything since! No emails either.
Emailed the [email protected] address and had a standard email saying about credit checks might delay orders and rang t-mobile and they have no record of anything so I'm in limbo-land! I guess I got somewhere because I had the 2 missed calls but not had anything since!
Here's hoping that everything goes through and there's little delay!
Ordered my silver one on the 28th and it arrived this morning with no sign of any media link. Spoke to them via Facebook and they said they had run out of media links as they were limited. However, I have read they others have received this that ordered after me, so not a happy bunny as you can imagine.

They had better have one for me. I called specifically to confirm that I would be getting one as it did not show when i pre-ordered and they said that I would be. I cancelled my 02.03.13 order on MPD because this was marginally cheaper AND they were giving the Media Link free. If I dont get it I will be p....ed, and they will hear all about it.
I called Buy Mobile Phones today to ask if it were likely that I'd receive a black One sooner if I were to order with them now rather than keep my order with Affordable Mobiles.
He said that they both share the same stock pool, which is interesting as both companies have different addresses, though both are A1 Comms. I asked if they had ever received black handsets, to which he replied that they had, but they were sent back due to a quality issue.
The main reason I called is that BMP have a customer area and they answer the phone a lot quicker than AM! I don't know if BMP have priority though, being the parent company.
I read on Facebook that Mobile Phones Direct are emailing all waiting customers daily, no matter how small the news. Goes a long way though!

Affordable Mobiles nightmare
I avoided Affordable Mobiles this year after an horrendous episode with them last year. Basically even after confirming my cancellation for a One X, they went ahead and allowed a contract with three to complete, it took me weeks to get things sorted and never received any sort of apology. I've always got phones online through these type of resellers but this year I went straight into one of my local three stores, ten minutes later walked out with a new HTC One Silver.
The reason I did this was after googling how to dismantle the htc one, I learned that it's virtually impossible to repair the phone screen. I can only imagine the trouble I would have with the likes of Affordable Mobiles in trying to get a repair. Was assured by three that the phone would not be sent away if repair was needed but would be replaced. That sealed the deal for me.
Had mine 10 days now and it's awesome. I would advise avoiding the double dip official flip case, it's awful.
I hope you all enjoy your new phones when they arrive
So I bought the hype without reading more here first. Lesson Learned. Only my second android phone, the first being the SG3.
I contacted ATT who sends me to MOTO, who sends me back to ATT.
Finally called the store directly, and am Hoping the second customization comes before the end of 14 day period so I don't have to pay the restocking fee.
Thankfully I have kept everything, the original card, receipt from the store, invoice from MOTO saying it was on its way, the tracking information, the tracking information from when I sent it back for the second customization.
I will keep you guys updated but either way, ATT and MOTO need to talk to each other cause spending 3 hours on the phone / "live" web chat doesn't cut it as customer service.

I was able to exchange my Moto X through Motorola no problem (didn't like the white front once I saw it in person) I didn't get bounced around. I chatted in through the Moto maker website. They told me I would get a call in 24 hours. Never got a call but got the slew of emails to order my new one, rma info and FedEx label. I seriously only had that easy of a time exchanging Google play devices. My replacement is acting wonky. I lost 7% battery in less than 45 minutes of mostly idle time. Today he tried to tell me to go to at&t and I told him he was wrong. They only accept non custom ones at AT&T. So he did the same thing they did they first time. Escalated it and said I'd hear from them in 24-48 hours. Hopefully the same deal happens where I don't get a call just the emails.

I was returning it because I wasn't sure if I was going to be patient enough for root and an unlocked bootloader.
With Root seeming like it is going to happen by the weekend. I'm really considering keeping it but a locked bootloader might still end up being a deal breaker for me. The other reason is that I'm willing to wait until the holidays for the price to drop since my financial situation has changed.

I started it as a warning about motorola's poor customer service and the trouble you'd have to go to return a moto x with ATT.
I still might have to return it, which is why I kept every single receipt, and I plan on posting an update should I go down that road.
I also did a swap because I didn't like the white front. I had no problem at all with customer service. Letting me swap it out for a different color because of my mistake is way better then I expected.

I believe you posted in the Moto forums, and the forum manager already replied that it wasn't an issue with Moto customer service. The issue was there was an untrained AT&T local store (big surprise). If you buy the phone (or MotoMaker voucher) from an AT&T store, you are able to return your phone to that local store.
The process works, unfortunately you just hit a local store that didn't follow it.
As for the bootloader thing - it was announced at launch that dev edition phones would be coming out for some networks and AT&T and Verizon would not have unlockable bootloaders.
Hey guys this is my first post so I apologize if this is in the wrong section. I just wanted to share some information that may be beneficial to those that bought a Developer Edition phone prior to the recent price drop ($649 to $549). Anyhow, I contacted Motorola to see if I could be reimbursed for the price difference and was told that I because I had purchased my phone more than 14 days ago that they would not be able to make up the difference. While this was completely understandable, I was surprised to hear the customer service agent say that although they could not make up the difference via Google Play or Motorola credit, that they would send a pair of Sol Republic Jax earbuds free of charge. This phone call occurred yesterday and I'm happy to say that I received an email confirming the complimentary earbuds had been shipped. I was not expecting this sort of customer service but I am very pleased with the way that Motorola handled the situation when they really did not have to do anything. I just felt like sharing this story and I hope that others will have similar success!
They had a glitch with my X order. Have gone above and beyond to correct it. Impressive customer service. Nice that they can tell you have an open ticket when you call and direct you to the department you need. Google needs to do thier CSR departments like this.

Yeah, I had a few issues with my order too. Eventually got cleared up. Got an unexpected call the next afternoon, it was Moto customer support, personally calling me to make sure everything was cleared up!

My X and the ducks are finally on thier way. Will have the X tomorrow and the docks Friday. Moto really came through. Can't wait for my new toy.
