I was just reading a review on the AT&T version of G2 (I have the Verizon version) and there was a piece of software called LG Backup, that basically looked like an in built Titanium Backup that didn't require root.
I can not find this on my Verizon version.. is it removed? Is it named something different?
Thanks
Vzw probably removed it because they offer their own backup app with a monthly subscription.

I just looked. The only thing I find there under the Backup & Restore menu is
(all of this appears to be tied to google)
Backup My data
Backup Account
Automatic Restore
then the Factory data reset
So there does not appear to be that app on the Verizon.. damn you verizon..
Guess I will have to root it after all....

Anyone got a full list of whats safe to Freeze/Uninstall on TB for the Verizon LG G2??
Any Bloatware not safe to fully remove?
Do we need Verizon log in or location services?

Search and you may find a pretty good sized list.
Hint: "debloat".
Did that and it brought me to this thread. Check it out.
Do you know the answer to my question?

If you're rooted, it's easy. You need to freeze plug & pop (I believe that is correct name, if not its something similar) sistem app. I used Titanium Backup Pro but you can use any other app which offer same feature.
The 12/10 hangout app still won't send MMS messages. I'm on Sprint, not rooted. Anyone else still having this issue?
It's love to use hangouts for all my messages, but I get no love from Google.

Just tried it and no bueno on the mms

Yes, share more. Am I supposed to do something with it?
Also, it sometimes switches from Wi-Fi to 3g when I try to send an mms. I have no idea why. Stock messaging app works fine.

Open app as archive, go into res, xml, delete apns.xml, reinstall. Works for me on Verizon. Full MMS/ group. Damn Hangouts and its custom xml.
It is in /data.

I hate to be dense, but how do I open it as archive?

Z archive through a file explorer
The issue is with app not the phone and BTW it was fixed in latest update.

It's actually not fixed on Sprint with the latest update. MMS doesn't work still and you can't change apn within the app itself.

Unfortunately it didn't fix the Sprint version mms issues. Come on Google!

Navigated to it but do not show apns.xml in the res folder. Am I missing something?
Xml folder after res
I don't know what 'open app as archive' means. Please give some details for the n00b.
I'm not rooted, if that matters.

zArchive (Google play free) can open apks as "folders". Root doesn't matter if you get the apk link and edit before install. Overwrite.

Thanks. I did it, but still no go on Sprint. That just causes it to force close.
Sent from my Sprint LG G2.
Same with the last guy. No idea. :/
And still no go for mms on 12/12 update. Come on Google, you have got to be kidding me. I can download 10 apps from the play store in 1 minute that can do this.

Had anyone been able to get this to work on Sprint?

Since updating my Galaxy S4 to the 4.3 OS, the app “Beaming Service for Beep’nGo” continues to appear as an update in Play Store. The problem is that the ‘parent’ app, “Beep’nGo” is NOT installed on my phone. Does anyone know how to remove it? Tx

Since I use BeepNGo, I don't want to myself, but have you tried freezing it with Titanium Backup?

Where did you find the app? I don't find it in my list of apps & it didn't appear in an ES Explorer search. Haven't tried TB.

You may have to reinstall BeepNGo first in order to properly get rid of it.
Titanium Backup is acknowledged as the best backup app out there and well worth buying the license.
It can do many things - freezing and removing apps being one thing, but you may need the full licensed version to do what you need.
You also need to be rooted.

Well, I installed the app from Play Store then uninstalled using Android Assistant. Then powered off & the Beep’nGo app was no longer there. However, the beaming app was still listed as an update in Play Store!!! I double-checked my backups via MyBackupPro & the parent app had not been backed up in the past. So, I guess I'll just have to live with the stupid beaming utility existing in Play Store forever as I'm not going to root my phone.

That's what you want to freeze/uninstall using Titanium to remove 'Beaming service for 'Beep 'n go'.

I have the same problem. Can't get rit of it in the google play list, so can't remove it, and it keeps trying to install with any updating. Realy awfull spam app. Hate it, but can't be removed...****ty google play!!!! Google should make it easier to remove apps from your list!!! Why don't they??
Please give the add-on (link) and the original app (link) a 1-star rating. With enough low ratings, they might reconsider forcing this down our throat. (I have an S5 by the way, same crap)
I got it removed...finaly.
I installed Titanium Backup and deleted it from the backup list. After that it had a "x" in google play and so i could then remove it. FINALY!!.
But still...removing ANYTHING should be made a lot easier by Google in the first place!
Hey guys!
I am switching from Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to LG v20 and was wondering how to import all my data from Note 2. I have few backups with Samsung Kies and is there a way to just import a fresh backup from Kies to LG?
I will prefer a program like Samsung Kies for Windows that can work with both phones but if there's an App that I can install on both phones and transfer data via bluetooth / wifi or something is fine too.
Thanks!
You have to use LG backup, download it from the play Store

Thanks Nick, I just checked it on playstore and there are many reviewers saying its not working with new LG phones. I will still give it a try when I get the phone.
Any other suggestions are appreciated!

Some carriers like AT&T have apps to do it as well.

I used the app to move from my Note7 to my V20. It moved all my apps (without saved data), call logs, contacts, and texts.

I did it as well - but just as a suggestion, when setting up the V20, make sure your sim card is in or it's connected to wifi and make sure that you setup your google account. Otherwise it will not install your apps.
First go round, I bypassed the google screen and was going to do it after and I still had my sim in my Note 7 and was at work (no wifi) and it did not install any of my apps.
I made a backup on my SD card using LG backup, installed the SD card in my lgv20 and transferred it that way. Worked out fine.
