Since updating my Galaxy S4 to the 4.3 OS, the app “Beaming Service for Beep’nGo” continues to appear as an update in Play Store. The problem is that the ‘parent’ app, “Beep’nGo” is NOT installed on my phone. Does anyone know how to remove it? Tx

Since I use BeepNGo, I don't want to myself, but have you tried freezing it with Titanium Backup?

Where did you find the app? I don't find it in my list of apps & it didn't appear in an ES Explorer search. Haven't tried TB.

You may have to reinstall BeepNGo first in order to properly get rid of it.
Titanium Backup is acknowledged as the best backup app out there and well worth buying the license.
It can do many things - freezing and removing apps being one thing, but you may need the full licensed version to do what you need.
You also need to be rooted.

Well, I installed the app from Play Store then uninstalled using Android Assistant. Then powered off & the Beep’nGo app was no longer there. However, the beaming app was still listed as an update in Play Store!!! I double-checked my backups via MyBackupPro & the parent app had not been backed up in the past. So, I guess I'll just have to live with the stupid beaming utility existing in Play Store forever as I'm not going to root my phone.

I have the same problem. Can't get rit of it in the google play list, so can't remove it, and it keeps trying to install with any updating. Realy awfull spam app. Hate it, but can't be removed...****ty google play!!!! Google should make it easier to remove apps from your list!!! Why don't they??
Please give the add-on (link) and the original app (link) a 1-star rating. With enough low ratings, they might reconsider forcing this down our throat. (I have an S5 by the way, same crap)
I got it removed...finaly.
I installed Titanium Backup and deleted it from the backup list. After that it had a "x" in google play and so i could then remove it. FINALY!!.
But still...removing ANYTHING should be made a lot easier by Google in the first place!

I'm using Titanium Backup to restore my girlfriends apps and data from her Galaxy SII to the new Galaxy SIV. Both have stock roms. On the SII she has a native app that came with the phone called task 1.0, it's like a memo note. The SIV does not have this program. How do I get Titanium back to install the app and data on the SIV, or is this not possible since they are different phones? Every time I hit restore app+data it just sits there and nothing happens, does that mean they are not compatible across phones?
Is it an app that can be downloaded from the play store or is it a system app from the SII.

Backups with TB do work between different devices. My guess is the app is not compatible with the S4 so it can't restore. Probably the resolution or the app is tied with the calendar on the S2. Something like that. Have you tried restoring without data? Might have to find an alternative app for the S4.

It's not tied to the calendar it's like the yellow note pad you just type stuff on like a post it. For some reason hers is called task instead of memo. I think you are right about it not being compatible. Just wanted to make sure I'm not doing something wrong. It does not give the option to restore without data for this app, only with data. I'm guessing it doesn't work with the IV because it has S Memo.
I guess some of you noticed that google just updated Google Talk to replace it with Hangouts. A nice WhatsApp Clone with some beautiful features. I guess cross platform chat (Phone <> PC) is the most interesting part.
If you are an owner of an One which has Google Talk preinstalled as bloatware there is no chance to update this via Google Play unless HTC delivers an update. Too bad we're not able to uninstall bloatware / preinstalled stuff on non rooted devices...
But if you open the Play Store via browser on your computer to instruct it to install Hangouts on your phone, it will overwrite the Google Talk and you're able to use the new Hangouts app

I really wish they integrated it with sms/mms app like Facebook Messaging can do... or just made it like iMessage. But I'm happy for the upgrade.
It might not be showing up for folks because it is probably still replicating across the Play servers.
UI Layour is quite nice, hope it gets popular, but i really wanted that it could send sms , like imessage , or sms atleast so i can use that app for all.

Already Installed Issue on Hangout..
Hi, i am from India and I am having an issue about installation of Hangout, The same issue occurs to my colleague also.
In Google Play it says already installed and no update option displayed but when i open it is the same GTalk UI and same icon.
Not able to update from Google Play ( WEB / Android Device). i am using Stock LG NEXUS 4.
Now that root is achieved, many will freeze or remove stock VZW apps. Are there any resources on which apps are safe to freeze? This may have been asked elsewhere, but this is likely to be a recurring question and a thread in Q&A could be useful. Any information would be appreciated.

That is interesting information, but I don't believe that article specifies what is safe to remove (just what the consider removing). Also, the ATT framework may not behave exactly as the VZW might, which is my specific question.
Edit: consider using titanium backup and freeze as an alternative to uninstalling entirely. Should give you the option to restore if needed.

Correct if you want to uninstall them, but you can "disable" bloat from the applications section in the settings to free up memory and to cut down on unnecessary processes without needing root.
I'm not sure how the US carriers will handle this issue, but all of my carrier-specific apps were uninstallable on my Korean Note 4. Samsung and Google services have been hit-or-miss. But then again, there was specific legislation passed here on this very subject last year.

Like that stupid flip board app.
Sprint has been pretty good about being able to straight uninstall all those useless programs they load once you activate. The rest has to be root uninstalled to remove. I've been using Samsung devices for awhile and most have to be rooted to remove their extra features.
Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
Can't you just disable them? They'll still take up space but they won't run.
uninstalling some of the applications, especially from google or samsung could break other things seemingly unrelated, so much better way is to freeze them, but you need root. greenify has some option to stop apps from starting on boot up, not 100% sure, but I think it works even without root.
greenify is limited without root, but it is a start.
Does anyone know when the ATT note 3 was able to root?
Hey guys!
I am switching from Samsung Galaxy Note 2 to LG v20 and was wondering how to import all my data from Note 2. I have few backups with Samsung Kies and is there a way to just import a fresh backup from Kies to LG?
I will prefer a program like Samsung Kies for Windows that can work with both phones but if there's an App that I can install on both phones and transfer data via bluetooth / wifi or something is fine too.
Thanks!

I did it as well - but just as a suggestion, when setting up the V20, make sure your sim card is in or it's connected to wifi and make sure that you setup your google account. Otherwise it will not install your apps.
First go round, I bypassed the google screen and was going to do it after and I still had my sim in my Note 7 and was at work (no wifi) and it did not install any of my apps.
I made a backup on my SD card using LG backup, installed the SD card in my lgv20 and transferred it that way. Worked out fine.
