[Q] Slow to fix - GPS - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've had the G2 for nearly a week now and have found the phone to perform nearly flawlessly with the exception of what I'll call the the time to fix on GPS. Outdoors and especially indoors, the time to receive a good fix for GPS is slow. Using tools like GPS status it seems to take for ever to begin seeing satelittes and then even longer to get enough to firmly establish a fix. I'm a pilot and really need my devices to work robustly with GPS and since I'm within the two week return window on Verizon need to establish if this might be an anomaly with my unit or something inherent to the device in general so I can act accordingly. Thanks.

Sitting in my living room I grabbed 8 satellites within a few seconds. Working as expected for me so far.

Thanks for that. I'll try a reset and then return for another if that doesn't do it.

Yup, same here!!!!

Well I reset the phone and without activating wifi so as to avoid the help that provides, I cannot get a fix indoors or out. Outside I lock on two sats but no fix. Going to return for another.

eveyrtime i factory reset it takes about 5 minutes just to get a lock.

actually, after a reboot its taking forever to lock on as well. annoying.

My experience with GPS on my phone is similar to yours, really slow to get a lock. Also, on local streets, sometimes the compass gets all whacky and losses the correct heading. Not sure if it's just my unit or not.

Well back to Galaxy S4 for me. At least temporarily. Went to Verizon store to have phone replaced. After spending 15 minutes trying to have the manager understand the problem they agreed to replace. Went to check out and they say you have an outstanding balance. I say yes I just sent in payment electronically. So even though I paid full retail they wanted me to pay again. Will not I say, so keep the damn things. So then they charge me $35 restock fee. Okay so I go home and call Verizon and find out the phone should have been replaced. Credited my account the 35. I really hate Verizon sometimes but unlimited data is hard to walk away from.

they got us by the balls there on the unlimited data dont they? Hope it all works out for you

My G2's GPS has been phenomenal. Easily one of the top 5 things I love about this phone. Outdoors, a lock is damn near instant and indoors I'm locked on to over 8 satellites within seconds. Even after an AGPS clear request and reboot/WIFI off/google location services off, it locks one within 3-4 seconds INDOORS. I would try to return for another. Coming from samsung devices, this is a welcome change. It just works. :good:

TopNTP
Try TopNTP, i had similar issues with my galaxy nexus and this was the only softwafre which solved it by changing the gps.conf file (need root)

Did you quote the wrong person? LOL
I'm not having any problems with my GPS. All of my previous samsungs (epic 4g/droid charge/GNex) had some kind of GPS issue one way or the other. There was some workarounds that seemed to help but they were never this good. Actually now that I think about it, my first Droid charge was pretty darn good with GPS but my replacement unit had some trouble. I think my Gnex was the worst by far. Oh well, it's been relegated to WiFi-only duty and I'll keep it around just to mess around with the latest AOSP builds. :cyclops:

I think I may have had a lemon but due to stupid verizon store employees I don't know yet. I'll now wait and take a look at the note 3 and/or wait for some used G2. As compared to my S4 the galaxy finds nearly 20 satellites in seconds and locks to most of those within two even after agps reset.

My LG G2 won't get a fix indoors even under skylights, and takes much longer than my Moto Droid Razr Maxx outdoors. Maybe I will try and exchange it.

I really dont think swapping will do anything... mine does this too and sometimes it just works better. after a reboot it takes a while, but then it'll lock in seconds during that time on. it's weird.

The LG G2 has been slow as a mail in rebate to get back to you when locking onto GPS. I picked the phone up yesterday. Before and after root the same thing here in Northern VA/Metro DC area. The S4, Gnex, N4, and N7 all perform flawlessly. I don't want to do an exchange with VZW cause most of the in store help is clueless and I feel my soul slowly dying every time I have to speak to one of them.
I am hoping it is solar flares, sunspots, weather, congress blinking, or my 4 year old daughter continuously talking that is causing interference with my device locking into GPS in a timely fashion.

Mine works great outdoors and for the most part indoors. There are some bad spots I've found in my office so far where it can't/struggles to lock.

How do you know you got a lock?

GPS lock is very fast here, Korean G2 in Europe. Might it be a Verizon version issue? Could the wireless charging coil block the GPS signals?

Samsung S4 GPS: How good is it?

I am considering upgrading to S4 after almost 4 yrs on Touch Pro2. I just want to make sure also that the GPS is up to it as I am considering using it with a electronic chart program as a back up navigation for flying. I know that this GPS is also GLONASS compatible. But can it work in unassissted mode without any phone or data signal at all? Does it lock onto GPS signal fairly fast? Much appreciated personal experience regarding this. thanks.
It's a full GPS so it will work just fine without a data signal. I am pretty sure every phone made in the past 3 years can do this. I just turned off all data on my phone and ran GPS Status. It locked in less than 10 seconds indoors. But I did use my GPS earlier today, so it may have some data stored. But in any case, it will work for what you need. Having said that, so will any other modern device.
i would say it's pretty good from my own experience.. it can pinpoint my exact location within a few meters INDOORS! don't recall ever having a problem finding signal after having the device since it came out. And yes, it can work without data..
Works great to a 3 meter accuracy. In doors on a two story apartment complex.

I don't do any navigation for flying but my situation was similar to yours. I'm on SERO, had a TP2 when it came out to replace a Palm Centro, then switched to the EVO 3D (changed my plan to the $40+$10 just like you are about to do), and now on the S4. IMO it's worth the extra $20/month in many ways. For me it was a night and day difference going to the S4. Once Wimax was available in Southern California it was a big jump with the Evo 3D compared to the TP2. But with the S4 on Sprint with a LTE connection it's absolutely amazing.
As far as GPS is concerned, I travel frequently and use the Maps with Me app. A few weeks ago I was in remote areas like Arches National Park and Yellowstone where there is no reception for all carrier but Maps with Me operating strictly on GPS worked great.
Another thing you could do is open a new line and pick up a S4, their trial return policy has changed to 14 days so you can get one and test it in your area. Only issue with this is to watch out for the way they define 14 days.
Hope this helps and good luck!
Cool. Think I am going to make the jump... gonna call their upgrade line tomorrow. Hopefully I can do it in a sprint store also. Hate to have to wait in mail for it, but want to make sure account change done correctly
For SERO I recommend calling 1(888) 882-4030 via Sprint telesales to upgrade. I believe standard is 2 day shipping via UPS for $12.

[Q] LS980 sprint call qualtiy tricky at times.

I picked up my G2 a few days ago at Best Buy and I didn't have any problems with it until I started to notice on calls at times the audio coming in would get distorted for a second and go back to normal even though I have fairly good signal. I'm asking if i should take it back and get a new one or if this is something known about or maybe a software issue.

I have also been wondering the same thing.
It has been spotty for me. People cant hear me, I cant hear them etc.
I think I might get it exchanged for a new 1. Im still within my return period. If it happens again I will go to the N5 or something. I really like this phone tho..

I am on my 2nd one and still having same issue. So a return might not help you. I have spent a lot of time on phone with sprint. They reset my network, hard and soft resets, and their answer is network issues. I get a popping and slight occaisional static on my end of call, other end hears me fine.. I have a 3rd seperate one besides my returned two and that one is fine. What I have noticed is if I roam, my calls are crystal clear, unfortunately I can't force a constant roam. I love the phone so I am gonna stick with it. Possibly the processor and sprint not behaving nicely? I am in the New York area, where are you guys?

Try and see, if possible, when roaming, make a call and see if it clears up. That's the only time I have the same quality call as my HTC one.

I am not an expert, but do read the forums a lot and a bunch of Verizon users had same issue and now sprint customers are starting with same problem. Both CDMA, so possibly, yes, software related.
All of you, Please call Sprint & make them aware so they can fix this. I already let them know as this is my 2nd one & it exhibits the same problems.
I travel between Dorchester and Malden MA most often and I get the same issue. I tried all sorts of things. I did a chat with tech support and a phone call. They setup an appt for me in a corporate store and the tech just dismissed and imediately said it's a network issue with ALL of the newer Sprint phones. He mentioned the S3, S4 and of course the G2 (how convenient) as well as the Note 3. Mind you my daughter just got an S3 a month ago and her phone is fine. The tech just kind of left it at that but suggested he try a network reset with no guarantees of course. He also suggested I try roaming of a GSM carrier (he said we aren't charged for roaming). He also said if it does it when roaming then I should bring it back (I assume then he would actually do real troubleshooting. So I left the store and was in the area for about an hour and things got progressively worse. I ended up going back and the manager switched it out right away. So far the new one sounds pretty good. Time will tell.

This was a problem with the note 3 when released on sprint as well "Problem:
*
Voice quality on a connected call is garbled, with intermittent popping, morphing, cracking." I found that a few minutes ago. Same exact issues, both phones have same processor, sprint sent out a patch and it resolved issue for those phones. I have called sprint and been to two stores, returned one, got another with same issue. People need to speak up to sprint forum on sprints site, so they realize we are having same issue and hopefully they fix it soon. CSR s in sprint are useless, a manager at a corporate store said to me " I haven't sold a g2 yet, so I can't justify problem you are having " [email protected]#$ng great answer. I wanted to punch her out of her chair. Hopefully we all can be at ease soon.
I went to the corporate store on Boylston St, near Copley. FYI, the tech that paid attention advised me that the tower near the Pru is having problems so don't walk that way and expect to use your phone. Not only will it sound like **** but you'll drop calls too.
So far with the replacement phone, I've only had the issue a couple times

I've called Sprint about the issue to let them know and I've called Geek squad because of my warranty with Best buy and Geek squad just told me to get it replaced and I think that's what I'm going to do, if it's something that can be fixed with a software update this one should act the same right?

Low signal on new note 3

Hello I'm new to this thread as I've been a HTC user forever.
I just got my note 3 last night and it seems that I have low signal every where in Los Angeles. I only have 1 or 2 bars. I didn't have this issue with my HTC Evo which always had 5 bars..
I don't think it's Verizon network but the phone. Does any one else experience this issue? Is there a fix to get better signal?
Sent from my SM-N900V using xda app-developers app
I haven't had signal issues with my note, but from all the reading on these forums. If you are having signal issues and your on the latest radios it's probably a hardware issue. Seems like there are some phones made in China and some from Korea with quality differences between them. Wait for others to chime in, but you might want to contact Verizon and get another phone sent.

I have the same problem, as do many. And it got way worse after the most recent update. See if you can get a replacement.

After spending an hour on the phone with tech support they suggested I go in and exchange my sim card so I did. Well that didn't change the low signal. Does anyone know a fix for this?

Just to add my $0.02.. I had the exact same problem and I purchased original my phone close to release day. It didn't matter what I did, but I would drop signal or always have terrible signal even though I was close to a tower. I also had a wiggling home key as well. Eventually my proximity sensor died on the phone, which at that point I had enough with it. I went in and returned it under warranty after having it for a month and a half. The new phone I got now actually has an earlier build then my original (under battery it's dated), but I have no issues with it at all. It was factory re-certified, but it runs like a champ and has none of the signal problems my original did. So I think there is definitely some truth to the idea that some have better builds than others based on where they were manufactured. I would return yours without a hesitation under the manufactures warranty. Hope that helps!
Thanks for helping at this point I've returned it 3 times in 10 days. I've got two different build dates and all of them still have low signal issue and calls dropping.

Sprint Support Sucks!

So I went into a Sprint Server Center because my Galaxy S 5 had been acting up for the last couple of months. The most clearly observable problem is that the LTE signal was barely ever engaging anymore, and when it did, it would only get about 1 bar unless I was right next to a tower.
Anyway, the device had a variety of issues that a factory reset would not resolve. I have NEVER rooted this device.
Basically, the store techs told be that they believe me that there are issues with the phone, but since I didn't have the sprint service plan, that they would charge me $75 to return it to Samsung under warranty. What kind of customer service is that? I contacted Samsung direct myself and explained the issues. They gave me a shipping label and it is on its way for service. The only saving grace for sprint is that I was able to self activate my old S3 in the meantime.
ALWAYS keep at least one of your old phones laying around so that you can roll back to it as your own loaner while you wait for service on your real phone.

Post "repair" your phone will still only show 1 bar of LTE unless you're right next to a tower. The S5, for some reason, is reporting any signal RSRP with a dBm of -100 or lower as 1 bar (down to -125dBm where the S5 will lose signal), even though this value (-100 to -115) is quite capable of holding/sending many datas. If you want a better readout, download the SignalCheck Pro app and have it display it's LTE bars in the notification panel. Then you'll have a better idea of your signal. This is something that I hope and wish that Sprint/Samsung fixes for this exact reason you just posted.
If you don't have Sprint TEP insurance, never walk into a store with your phone needing help. That's just how it goes. Without TEP, they won't do anything for you.

I actually had the signal check app. I believe what you are saying, but it does not describe my situation. I did side by side tests between my phone and my GFs phone and the radio issue on my phone was real. I showed greater degradation through SigChk than hers. In addition, my phone was regularly falling back to 3G when hers wasn't. Both sprint, both side by side. My phone was also suffering a whole bunch of other problems such as navigation orientation issues, digitizer freezing, and many more. None of these issues were present in my first couple of months of ownership.
On a side note, I am very disappointed that XDA sensors more than youtube does. That is bizzare to me.
Gotcha. Sorry then for my over-analysis. I hope they get you fixed up. Please report back.

The comparison was with my GFs Galaxy S4 (triband) and also with my Galaxy S3 (also triband) which I am using while I wait for mine to be returned. My S3, according to the signal check app is running about 15db better on average for the RSRP. The S3 is getting -88dB while my S5 was -103db and up (measured in the same area).
They better fix the phone or there will be hell to pay!

I've been out of the loop for awhile but I do not think there was ever an S3 tri-band. There were S4 tri-bands but those came after the S4 had been out a year or longer.

I've been out of the loop for awhile but I do not think there was ever an S3 tri-band. There were S4 tri-bands but those came after the S4 had been out a year or longer.

I appreciate you input, but if you think about it, what you are saying does not make much sense. I might be wrong about which of those phones are not tri-band, but based on your own implications, tri-band is better.
So, it would stand to reason that even if neither the S4 or S3 are tri-band, then one or both should be worse in signal strength. The fact is that both perform better than my S5 in its last couple of months. Again, my S5 did great for its first two months of service. Something has definitely gone wrong with the radio. If it was a tower problem, it would not be isolated to 1 handset and it certainly wouldn't be consistent across many geographical regions. All of this point to handset, not towers.

Not sure how what I say doesn't make sense...if the S3 and S4 are single band radios for voice/data then they would not have issues. Tri-band phones are having the issues. I hope you get it sorted out and please update if/when you find out the problem.

I'l try to put my S4, S5 and G3 all next to each other in the coming days over various areas and see if I notice a difference in signal.

monsignor garwynn, could you please tell me how many Sprint signal bars your G3 reports at -100dBm RSRP on LTE? 1? Does it remain at 1 all the way through to signal loss around -120dBm?
I've tried to ask this question in the G3 threads and it just gets ignored.
I have come back here to eat crow... sort of. Sprint support still sucks. But I thought there was a problem with my phone and Samsung has concluded that there isn't. So, it would seem that the triband issue is plaguing me as well as many others. How is it possible that this problem has gone on for so long? Is there no one addressing it? Can't they just turn off the spark? It all seems to have started when they rolled that out.

Well, "you" can turn off the Spark, by just putting your phone in 3G mode only.....but that sucks.

BC the technology of tri-band phones are causing this issue. You could set your phone to LTE ONLY but then you would miss calls...up to you

I use the DBM xposed module to see my exact signal. As far as I've seen, a PRL update can really make a difference to improve signal. My S5 is averaging 23 mbps inside a large building and 50 next to towers. Really its about if you're at a Spark Tower or not. There is still alot of network improvement going on right now, so it'll make a difference.
Wow this posts made me laugh. So let me get this correctly, you are upset because Sprint is the only carrier who offers service centers in store with techs and so they offer a protection plan that allows you to utilize their services like repairing and replacing factory warranty devices in which you chose not to purchase. You then start having problems with your Samsung device and are upset because Sprint offered you a $75 fee to replace your device that is still under manufacturer warranty? Not sure how Sprint sucks.
I personally have the plan. I pay the monthly charge. Guess what? I had an issue with my phone. Took it into a Sprint store. They seen I had the plan. They pulled a replacement (refurb) S5 out of the drawer behind him. I left with a working device that day. That is called a convenience sir. Had I not had the plan I would be just as upset as you are but to post a blog about how the company sucks is just over the top. Had I not had the plan guess what? I would have contacted Samsung. Sent my phone in. Then they would call me and say well sir we noticed this that and the other its gonna cost $ xx.xx to fix. If you dont want to pay then we will ship the device back to you as is. Why deal with that? Warranty is a free service and is not there to help you. The protection plan worked well for me. Now truth be told I actually opened the phone up trying to replace a cracked camera because I had dropped the phone. Screen didnt crack tho. But when I opened the phone I accidently ripped the soft key ribbons so after the reassembly my soft keys didnt work. I took it into Sprint and told them my soft keys "stopped" working. Replacement phone same day. Now just think.... If I took it to Samsung they wouldnt have played so nice. Sorry man but Sprint TEP for the win.

Although I do agree with you in the circumstance you shared, the OP issues are not his fault nor should he have a protection plan for it in order to get it fixed. If you read through the thread, you would notice that his issue is with the tri-band phone and sprint service..

Umm, his device is broken through no fault of his own, and is still under warranty. His device was purchased through Sprint, I am assuming. It should be replaced under warranty regardless of a protection plan.
Right. It should be replaced. Through the manufacturer (Samsung) not Sprint. If its service related then Sprint needs to fix the service not the phone.

Sprint is a cell phone service provider. Samsung manufacturers the phone. You guys keep mentioning warranty and Sprint doesnt even have one they have a return/exchange policy. Sprint offers extra protection as an extra service to convenience the customer. Samsung offers the 1 yr warranty. He claims to have LTE issues and feels it is the phone not connecting to the service. Which means the service is provided so Sprint did their job. Now if the phone doesnt connect to the service correctly then who is to blame? Samsung. So going to Samsung should be the first cause of action UNLESS you have Sprints protection plan that covers Samsungs device they manufacturered. The phone has a 1 yr MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY THROUGH SAMSUNG NOT SPRINT. Sprint has 14 day return for defective devices. Outside 14 days you have purchased a Samsung phone under samsung 1 year warranty and if the Samsung phone has warranty issues then take it to Samsung since they are offering the warrantly. Or pay $11 a month to have Sprint take over SAMSUNGS WARRANTY and replace the defective device that wont connect properly to a Sprints CELL PHONE service which is clearly there. I read the issue thoroughly. People just have the habbit of blaming the wrong people for stuff. Its Samsungs fault if the phone doesnt work after 14 days. He knew the policy when he got his phone. He just didnt think he would have an issue and now he is upset because the 1 company that can easily help him wont because he didnt want to purchase their protection plan. Now he is upset I get it. But he should be upset at Samsung for putting together a poor S5 that wont connect to the cell towers properly. Shame on Samsung!

Oh and FYI the $75 that they charge IS NOT TO SEND YOUR PHONE TO SAMSUNG! You can do that for free. The $75 is for you to get a replacement phone. They order you 1 and it comes in 2 business days. Again Sprint DOESNT OFFER ANY 1 YR WARRANTY! Samsung does. So to avoid being out of a phone for a weeks because you have to deal with Samsung, Sprint told him okay you have issues we see that. WE are not the manufacturer but can help you for $75. Your device needs to be replaced and instead of you having to go through the trouble of that Sprint is offering him an out so he doesnt go weeks without a phone. Sometimes they even have the phone there. Im just really confused at all the people wanting to blame Sprint here. Its a warranty issue and Sprint doesnt EVEN HAVE A 1 YR WARRANTY! ON ANY PHONE BUT THEIR OWN SPRINT DEVICES! Smh.

Very Upset with Samsung.....and Sprint

I've owned a new Samsung device every year since the Galaxy S3. I've never been disappointed with Samsung like I was when HTC sold me their "greatest smartphone ever" in the Evo 3d. I've been left wanting more like with the Note 4, but never disappointed.
That all changed today. For those not aware, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has a major hardware issue. If you touch your phone at certain places on the bottom part of the device, it causes Bluetooth audio to skip like that Outkast cd you played way too often. You also can't use a magnetic car mount unless you put the plate as far up towards the top as possible.
I discovered this within 24 hours of having this phone. I know 8 people with the Note 7. 100% of them have the same problem. Everyone that they know with a Note 7 has the same issue. Just to be clear, I am a business owner who knows a decent amount about phones. I'm pretty tech savvy. If I went on an interview at Samsung for a Hardware Engineer position, I'd be laughed out the door in less than 60 seconds.
My point is that if I could catch this problem, Samsung certainly can and did. Which brings me to why I'm upset with Samsung. These devices were recalled. While not ideal for Samsung, what a great opportunity to fix the Bluetooth module while you make sure I'm not carrying around a time bomb. I got my replacement Note 7 two days ago (more on that later) and sure enough, it has the same Bluetooth issue!
Samsung, this is absolute neglect. If you tell me nobody was aware of this problem, you're lying. You rushed devices to a market in order to beat Apple, and you cut corners. Any real world testing would've quickly shown you these issues. You didn't have someone holding their phone while steaming audio over Bluetooth? I pray that you at least own up to this mistake and make it right.
Oh, I almost forgot about Sprint. They are supposed to make the inconvenience of swapping your recalled Note 7 for the one that won't explode, right? Wrong! I walked into Best Buy at 7pm was helped immediately, and didn't walk out until 10:30pm. Oh, and they close at 9pm. Why? Because Best Buy has to call Sprint to initiate the switch. Sprint kept this poor Best Buy rep on hold for 3 hours! When a Sprint rep finally answered, they said they initiated the transfer but they didn't actually do it. After another 15 minutes on hold, a Sprint rep had the nerve to cop an attitude with this very patient Best Buy employee who is now at work 90 minutes late because of Sprint!
This is how Sprint handles a 20 year customer with 4 lines. My friend went to 3 Sprint stores today to swap his recalled Note 7. Two of the stores had the phone but wouldn't give it to him because, "we need to sell these to paying customers. We can order you one and let you know when it comes in." This is complete garbage and I'm pretty sure illegal to refuse to swap a recalled device.
Bad look for Sprint and Samsung.
Yes I agree, Sprint poor customer service and handling of the Note 7 recall
Ive had horrible customer support from sprint as well. I went to the sprint store where i purchased my note 7 and they asked me to wait 5 days until new ones came in. I did as i was told and came back only to be told they cant give me a phone from their inventory, it needed to be ordered. They ordered it, i come back 3 days later to be told i have to go to the corporate store 30 miles from my home to pick up a new one and pay a second down payment of close to 300. Ive never had worse customer service. Especially for being with the company for 9 years.

I'm with you 100%. I've been with Sprint for 14 years and still find myself puzzled when I hit the poor customer service experience. I think this applies here. Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. We are all insane
Odd....
I went to the corporate store and they cancelled my previous installment plan, refunded me what I spent, and then reprocessed it. No money ever left my card/hand. It was all cash based. I also ordered my wife's phone over the phone and they sent it out no problem.
Guess it's hit and miss with some.
The problem is there is no standard, each and every store is doing what they want, which equates to a poor customer experience for sprint
Glad someone created a thread like this lol. I ended up doing a phone replacement order for my note 7 over the phone with Sprint sales back on 9/11. Still til this day, no email updates. Called them this past Saturday and their still claiming 3-4 weeks backorder. Doesn't make sense why new customers who are ordering the note 7 online or by phone are receiving theirs in the mail already but us waiting on replacements due to the recall haven't. The way Sprint is handling this recall is ridiculous.

Where exactly is this mystery spot? I stream Pandora everyday when working out literally everyday and haven't had this issue. Im actually right streaming Pandora touching my phone all over like a perv trying to duplicate what you are experiencing. Im also using Beats Powerbeats 2 and i cant create any sort of Bluetooth skip. Ive touched, cupped, hell ive even layed on top of it and still streams flawlessly. If i get any closer with it i think we will be dating or at least produce the first cyborg........lol

Yup...it's not the Bose Speaker, or my Bose Headphones, or my Truck Sync or my Bose bluetooth adapter. They are all working perfectly with all of my other Bluetooth devices. It's the Note 7.
In safe mode, I can only test streaming audio from Google Music. As that is the only streaming service that I have music on that is available in Safe mode.
Frustrating for sure!!
I have the issue only in my ford taurus with sync. Not when using phone not when streaming. And not when touching the device specifically. Just playijg my downloaded music. I figured its the damn car it works well with my other bluetooth devices. As far as Sprint customer service. I would say most people who go in pissed off go in with an attitude and are rude as f*** to the rep like they broke the damn device or messed up the bill. Sure let me help you out while you hold this ???

Having issues here too. I have been on a "waiting list" in store for 3 weeks now. Called sprint a week ago and they assured me a replacement phone will be sent directly to me within 1-2 weeks, still no email that it has been shipped. I'm going to the store soon to complain in person. My phone has the same bluetooth issues you describe. The Note 7 is a beautiful phone but it lacks various features my old HTC M8 had. Considering going with an HTC 10. The only reasons I might keep the Note 7 is because of the 4k screen and S Pen, using it way more than I thought I would.
Same here. I was told by the store right after Samsung issued the official recall that I'd have one with 3-4 days and I am still on a store "waiting list" from the store I purchased this from. I have gotten a different answer from every corporate store I have called, and different answers from the customer reps online at sprint.com. The store told me I would be called once it was my turn to get my Note 7 replacement, yet I am STILL waiting. Sprint has done a horrendous job of having every corporate store being on the same page.
Also, I am having that bluetooth issue with choppy sound - my Note 4 did not do this at all. I am HOPING this new Note 7 will fix it or Samsung releases a fix for this.

This Bluetooth issue was the main reason why I returned my Note 7 and got the S7 Edge. Have you noticed when you search Google about this problem there's barely anything on it, at least nothing officially from Samsung anyway.
I was not aware of the magnetic car mount issue when using this accessory. What is the problem when using this accessory? Just wondering because my wife still has her Note 7 and she's been asking me about this particular accessory for her car..
Got my replacement note and Bluetooth still cuts out
