I just uploaded a Nexus 7 II (2013) tester App to the PlayStore which demonstrates the fake touch bug.
The app does practically nothing just shows one static picture. You can see, what the Nexus 7 does as response. Every little white point on the display is a fake touch.
The app simulates nothing!
The app only shows one static image
That's all. Everything else happens because the Nexus 7 II has this fake Touch bug.
Here is how you can test:
Start the test by selecting a pattern. The pattern is visualized in the left upper corner. Not all patterns cause fake touches. One pattern can cause fake touches in landscape mode but not in portrait mode or vice versa.
Look for fake touches
Touch the display with one finger (one touch point)
Touch the display with two or more fingers (multiple touch points)
Try the same pattern in landscape/portrait mode
Select other pattern (by changing portrait/landscape mode)
If you don't trust me, then just make a screenshot, and open the screenshot (or the attached pictures) in a viewer app without any zooming. You must see the very same result! No zooming means: 1 pixel in the picture is exactly 1 pixel on the display. If you can't show the picture in that way, because your viewer program does some minor scaling, then you don't get the effect! Please be 100% sure, that you don't scale or zoom the picture!
If you use the app, please remember:

Nice. will test outt and see which points are fake touched the most
"fake touched" lol
holy sh..! so far i thought my n7 has no problems, but with this test my screen goes absolutely nuts...
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
What the hell does this prove? It seems like the app just makes my touch screen go crazy...
I think, it is not normal (in fact far from normal), that showing a simple picture on the display causes fake touches.
You can just make a screenshot, and even by showing the screenshot (without any zooming) you will get the same result.
It is very weird.
YAMTT
I have my Nexus (2013) for a week now, no multitouch issues but i did get twice to the point where i lost all touch (pressing power, forcing it to reboot helped). But i noticed when i use YAMTT and put my hand on it, it starts flipping. It registers my hand palm as 3-6 points, and when i pull my hand away from it, it will continue to register points for some seconds (makes YAMTT go crazy).
My nexus is working fine, but after all this reading about broken devices/software, you start testing for yourself. The nexus is very slow in following the finger in YAMTT.
Just wanted to share my findings, anyway my device is still working fine and very ok
I dont understand this test much, now is charging and the first time I used it dirung 5 secs where no dots, after that a lot appeared at the botton and just at the bottom of the screen, even pushing the buttoms back and home. I have never had an issue like this. I will try again when its charged.
it simulates a bad nexus 7.
nothing else.
wow! weird
I thought my Nexus 7 II generally has no touch related issue besides random freeze for a few seconds once in 2-3 days
...until I start this test
the screen goes nuts with so many stars of white dots mainly on the right half of the screen. It's always the "bottom" half (with ASUS logo on the back side) no matter the screen is flipped or not.
I see OP is also the author of "Display Test". So I ran similar pattern picture in that app and get similar result.
So the situation is clear: by just showing static picture on the screen, the multitouch somehow get fake triggered. weird but convinced.
PS:JSS15Q on PA
Just checking (for my sanity more than anything else).
Is this App showing the ghost touches on the nexus 7 (i.e. the touches a 'faulty' nexus makes)
OR
Is this App _simulating_ ghost touches on the nexus 7 (i.e. if you run this on a 'fine' Nexus It will still show ghost touches because it's just showing what it _would_ be like).
Does that make sense?
I'm just scratching my head as to why it wouldn't do that 'scattergun' effect of touches outside of this app (unless of course it's just a sim).
Just swapped out my Nexus for a replacement one regardless.
All the best,
Ant
Once again:
* The app simulates nothing!
* The app only shows one static image
That's all.
Everything else happens because the Nexus 7 II has this fake Touch bug.

Are you sure, that you had no zooming?! You had the picture 1:1 on your display? I mean 1 pixel in the picture 1 pixel on the display?
If you can't show the picture in that way, because your viewer program does some minor scaling, then you don't get the effect!
Please be 100% sure, that you don't scale or zoom the picture!
If you view it in the gallery app it will be scaled down. It's because the tester app hides the status bar while the galery app only dims it out.
This is weird , my nexus indeed has a bug confirmed with this test. On what specific screens does this occur aside from an image that hasn't been scaled? because I don't experience this behavior on other screens I frequent to.

Ok I"ve send in my phone for the left yellow/darker problem; Got my phone back but offcourse it's stille there. Maybe a little better than my previous one, it's repared so no complete new phone.
But this left over/ temporarly burn in is still there. Haven't read much abouth it.
Just saw it again now, I'm typing a message, and when in that message I use the pull down menus I can see the contoures of the keyboard in the grey area of the pull down menu for abouth +- 15 seconds after it goes away...
Is this normal? The previous screen had it too. Or does it has to do with something else in my phone except the screen?
Thanks in advance guys!
well as you know its a defect in the screen itself... hmm this is what im thinking of doing as i cant return my phone since its been 7 days... im thinking of buying a new sgs ii from the same store then return it but put the phone i have now in the box... wonder if it will work...

So it's a defect and not every screen has it? My screen has been replaced, but this, besides the yellowish left side, is still visible...
So after a repare this is also still there. So the amount of screens with this problem should be large in amount too? But haven't read abouth this much...
Or I should be that unlucky that just MY 2 screen have this.

A picture of my phone...luckly, it's no big deal... I haven't seen this effect/ghosting since i changed the stock keyboard.... The yellow tint upsets me more...
Yep that's it!
Ah ok, gonna try changing the stock keyboard. But sometimes it's not only the keyboard, but I can also see contoures of other things. Pixels take long to adjust it seems?
I can also see these left overs in the grey bar of the pull down menus showing on your picture, the one where you put your thumb on. When I pull it down I can se contoures of text under icons, in it. Also dissapearing. You have to look closely.
Also in the stock weather widget(and other things) that the blue of the sky does not stay the same when moving the home screen slightly right(because you can't go left), not all pixels display the color as the previous one. This explanation sounds weird, but do you know what i mean?
Wow, that's really weird. To me, that's much worse than the left side banding which to most is really hard to detect. I'd call what you're describing ghosting or artifacting. I don't have it and would guess if more people did we'd have heard about it. I wouldn't even know where to begin in trying to figure out the cause. Hardware? Software? App conflicts?

Well, i haven't noticed this ghosting anywhere except when writing messages whith stock keyboard...even if a leave the same picture on the screen for some time, i can't see any ghosting. However, SAMOLED+ has clearly some issues with grey tones which show all kinds of problems: tinting, ghosting, etc...
I think when you move the home screen around there's some loss of quality so the phone won't slow down. I'm using Launcher pro and there's an option for high quality scrolling, which increaseases quality a lot when moving trough home screens...

OP says both of his phones have it, and you are right, it's so extremely rare that I don't think this was ever brought up here before.
What does this tell us? One of two things is possible:
1. The OP configured both the original and the replacement phone the same way. So it's a software glitch that he himself introduced.
2. The replacement phone actually is his old phone but with new screen replaced. So it's a hardware glitch in display "controller" or gpu.

It's not rare at all. AMOLED screens suffer from retention and burn in. I also see leftover when switching from a high-contast image to something else. ALL phones will have this. Mine, his and yours as well.
The rest of your "explanation" is utter bogus so will not even go there.

It's the second, I know it's just a new screen, because I've send it in after the DOA period, and the store I bought it from said they had to send it in to Samsung.
I also know it's a different screen, because the small dead pixel isn't there anymore and the yellow on the left is differen(but still there).
I just got this keyboard thing, and some other things being visible as left overs as for now only visible on grey pictures opening after it. Like the pull down notification bar. It's good visible when you're in a darker room.
I just noticed that it also has something to do with my background. It's just black. I tried another colorfull picture and than the countoures of the homescreen icons are much less(almost not) visible when the notification bar is pulled down.
So can someone try to set his background to completely black, and than go to a homescreen with like 4 buddy icons, wait 5 seconds and pull down the notification bar. Can you see the contoures??
I use black background. Never ever have experienced anything like this.
Did you try playing with settings:
Display -> auto adjust screen power (mine is off)
Power saving mode (mine is off too)

Not at all! I tried all your cases - no, do not see it. And I have always used a 100% black background everywhere I can on this phone.
If you have a Samsung service center near, maybe you can pay them a visit and ask what's wrong. Or just try full reset with user data wipe and factory firmware restore, to eliminate chances it is some rogue utility you installed.

Trust me, all the people in the left side banding thread that have been looking at their screens constantly and taking pictures of them would have caught this if it were widespread. You appear to be special.

Quick heads-up. This is definitely not supposed to be a release candidate. There are a lot of times when apps crash, you can't change lock-screen background due to system crashes etc etc.
I know there are plenty of other topics all about this OTA. Here I present to you, a feature summary.
Please keep in mind that this most likely IS NOT the final 4.1.1 release that Samsung will put out.
Nevertheless, I hope you guys like it!
Feature-list:
S Note upgrades
S Note Widget
Improved calendar colours
Blocking mode
Text-message backgrounds
new multi-tasking features
Screenshot improvements
Improved text selection
S Note
Ah.. The note taking app from Samsung. I think this app was already pretty decent in 4.0.4, so let's see what some of the changes are.
The first thing that you should notice is that Samsung added a scrolling bar on the side. Sweet! Navigation through the standard navigation icon is still available.
When you active the Pen Only mode, the screen still responds to touch for navigation purposes. Touching the scrollbar to scroll works fine.
Want to know what also works fine? Pinch zooming! And boy oh boy, with this update, you WILL be pinch zooming with your palm while using the S Pen. Hate it..
This pretty much beats the purpose of the pen-only mode for me. Great I can't write with my finger any more.. but my palm keeps zooming in etc. It can't be that bad I hear you say? Well, it wouldn't be if it happened once every 15 minutes or so.. but I get it SO FREQUENTLY.. it annoys the hell out of me.
(Lucky for me, I'm getting a Smudge Guard (sort of a Wacom Cintiq 'glove') which will allow my palm to rest on the screen without any hassle. Was already getting it for drawing purposes )
Something that bothers me a bit, is the fact that with the update, landscape mode is zoomed in past 100% making the text and background blurry by default. Rotating your device to portrait mode ofcourse 'fixes' this, but I like working with my tab in landscape mode. On top of this, it is annoying to manually zoom to 100% because there is NO snapping. Leaving you twitching somewhere between 94~106%.
I don't have OCD, but man o man would I like this baby to snap to 100%
Folder lay-out
I wanted to add this quick tip in here. This was already a feature in 4.0.4 but I don't think many people know of it. You can adjust the width of the 'folder-bar' by selecting the dividing line and dragging it to the left or right. Dragging it all the way to the left, hides the folder lay-out.
Portrait page, covers and backgrounds
First off, you get to choose a new page preset named Landscape note.
Also, some new covers and backgrounds are present in this update. Nothing too fancy, but I think that the music sheet is pretty sweet for those who know how to use it.
New S Note widget
I'm pretty sure that this wasn't included in 4.0.4. Correct me if I'm wrong
New sync options?
Nope! The sync options are still limited to Google Drive and Evernote. No dropbox yet..
Settings
I don't believe anything has changed here, but a screenshot anyway
A nice new 'feature' is the fact that the colours in the agenda have been updated. They are brighter than before and reflect the colours I use in my Google Calender better! Yay!
Blocking mode
In the settings tab you can find an interesting new feature called blocking mode. Allowing you to block notifications, incoming calls etc. It's like an upgraded 'Airplane mode' with nice features like time settings and white-listing contacts.
Background text-messaging
Now you can also add a custom background to your textmessage overview yay!
Multi-tasking upgrade bonanza
At first it didn't seem to me that the multi-tasking was incorporated just yet. I had to search for that son of a gun. Turns out, they've given the 'up' - arrow at the bottom of the screen a pretty big make-over.
Where at first you just had some pop-ups like the S Note, Calculator, World time, etc. You now have a world of 'new' possibilities. I haven't played with this a lot yet, but it seems promising. Although there doesn't seem to be any support for third party apps.
When you press the arrow, you get to select which app you want to open. Also you can arrange the open apps in various lay-outs. Free-floating, and a few grid options (see images). Dragging a free floating app to one side of the screen, has a Windows 7 - like feature, making it expand to that side of the screen.
Now I hear people think, "why isn't there a multi-task button in the apps anymore?". Well, you can easily make a (samsung) app free floating, by dragging downwards from the outside, at the top of your screen. (Just like opening notifications on android smartphones!)
To me all these multi-task features feel a bit 'buggy', but I might have a change of heart when I get used to using it
Improved screenshots
Now you can hold the pen button and DRAG! to immediately marquee an area that you want to cut out and take a snapshot of.
Haven't gotten to testing this a lot, so bear with me on the 2 shots
Improved text selection
When selecting text in 4.1.1 you first get an Apple-like magnifier, which is stylized in a pixel-art-like style. It's pretty small though. The selection markers are a bit smaller and seem to have improved performance. In 4.0.4 I found it rather annoying to use them.. In 4.1.1 it feels much better
If you know how to take a screenshot of the notifications, please let me know. The pen method and the on-screen short-cut don't work.
You miss anything? Request something!
Thank if you like!

About the multiwindow feature: nice find! Love this more than the "old" way.
Did you also noticed the new way of selecting text. They are using a magnifier now like the iPad/iPhone. Nice steal .. Hope they don't gonna troll Apple by copying everything that is not patented LoL
Thanks for the list. Looks promising for sure!
I don't know how it is in a browser but in tapatalk none of these pics will zoom.

@Mitchellvii; All these image-thumbnails are hyperlinked to the images on imgur, where they are hosted. I don't know how to do it differently on this forum
I know it works fine when I use the XDA app, but this was all created on my laptop
Looks nice so far. But as much as I enjoy having 85 different styles of notebook covers to choose from, how about:
1) Allowing us to create and save our own templates? <<< This!
2) Some white lined paper (yeah crazy right?)
3) A "chalkboard" background so we can write in white (hey I'm weird, I prefer whiting in white ink).
Holy s**t! The new multi tasking looks superb!
One X to rule them all
Looks promising with 4.1.1.

Samsung's new testing team -- XDA members!
Seriously, this is a good method. Their phones/tabs are unlocked, so it's easy for anyone to try Beta software. This allows Samsung to get real in-depth review of bugs in the codes. And it's fun for many people. Just look at SGS3 JB leaks -- new leak every single day. I won't even call them a leak now!

Been using the update for like 2 days now, and it has been suprisingly reliable for me.

I believe Samsungs developers are reading this forum, if you have a look at http://www.sammobile.com/ you can see that Samsung are leaking a new JB rom for the SIII pretty much every single day, which would make me think that they are actually using the bug reports and posts in the forum to correct bug and leak new releases.
Too scared to have a proper beta program which allow half of the people able to flash it without getting weird errors?

I am actually more worried about S Note.. If the final version does not disable pinch to zoom in pen only mode, my palm will definitely mess everything up. The it will be a deal breaker and I may not upgrade to jelly bean coz I take notes extensively

Normally, yes.
However, with the Note 1, there were things you would never figure out without looking at the manual.
Stuff like, 'hold the button on the s-pen and swipe left to hit the 'back' capacitive button'.
Like I did with the Note 1, i'll scribble down anything non-intuitive and post it here.
I'm scouring for interesting things to test in my video review.

Okay, I read the manual.
There is some stuff that is different from the Note 1:
Random interesting blurbs:
If the device receives an unstable power supply while charging, the touch screen may not function.
While charging, the device may heat up. This is normal and should not affect the device’s lifespan or performance. If the battery gets hotter than usual, the charger may stop charging.
Do not remove the battery before removing the charger. This may damage the device.
Your device accepts memory cards with maximum capacities of 64 GB.
New 'motion' features:
1) tap and hold, then tilt the device towards you to lock the phone.
2) When you pick up the device after it has been idle for some time or the screen has been turned off, it vibrates if you have missed calls or new messages.
3) While viewing call, message, or contact details, pick up and hold the device to your ear to make a call.
4) Pan to browse - when an image is zoomed in, tap and hold a point on the screen, then move the device to 'scroll' around the image.
5) Double tap to move to the top of a list of contacts or e-mails. (or anything, I hope)
6) Camera quick acesss: While the screen is locked, tap and hold the screen, then rotate the device to landscape to launch the camera!
7) shake the device to update e-mails or Yahoo News/finance/accuweather. (not random widgets though)
8) when the screen is turned off, move your hand across the proximity sensor to turn the screen on and view the # of missed calls/new messages/battery power level and "more"
New feature: Page Buddy:
Specify a set of apps to be shown on screen for quick select when:
1) You pull the s-pen out
2) You plug in a headset
3) You are roaming
s-pen notes:
The manual says: For best results, keep the S Pen mostly perpendicular to the touch screen and avoid using it at sharp angles.
That's also what it said in the n7000 manual and that was WRONG. It works best at a 30-45 degree angle. This will be tested.
New s-pen gestures:
s-pen still doesn't work with capacitive buttons and they changed the pen gestures:
hold button and draw a ^ (left-up, then right-down) for menu
hold button and draw a < (left/down then right/down) for 'back'.
hold button and up is now the quick command box.
hold button and draw around an image to save that selection to gallery -> screenshots.
new options to:
emit sound if pen removed/inserted
do nothing (i.e. not turn screen on) if you pull out the pen
launch a quick note if pen is pulled out.
display popup/sound if you walk when the touch screen is off and there's no s-pen.
have haptic feedback if the pen is hovering over files/subjects/other options.
Quick command box:
press button while hovering over quick command box to see assigned gesture commands.
Stuff that I haven't seen before (I don't know if it's JB or new touchwiz stuff)
================================
Notification bar has usual toggles (wifi/gps/etc) and has a 'blocking mode' toggle - to block/hide notifications. (This is rather nice for programs that hog a spot on the notification bar)
Task manager has an 'end all' button.
Face unlock is now 'Face and voice unlock' - i.e. face + voice command.
You can now capture an image/record video of a video call.
You can now, when entering a message or e-mail (stock app), specify a time/date to send it.
JB feature: option to download offline speech recognition data.
New accessbility option - Negative colors - reverse display colors for visibility (is this night mode?)
New camera modes
================
best photo - take a series of photos, save the best one
best face - take a series of group shots, combine the best faces into one group shot
buddy photo share - auto-share pics with anyone 'recognized' in the photo (via tags).
low light - take a series of photos and combine them to improve the image quality (i.e. reduced color noise)
Take photos using a voice command. (not sure if you can set a timer for voice-self shots)
New video modes
================
limit for mms - low quality video for sending via mms
slow motion -
fast motion
LED indicator:
settings to turn on the light for: charging, low battery, notifications, voice recording active.
Manual doesn't mention color choices.
samsung keyboard has an option to auto open the handwriting box if you tap it with the s-pen.
Touchwiz blah de blah:
----------------------
Homescreen has an 'easy mode' that leasts you easily add app/contact/setting shortcuts to the home screen.
Smart rotation! Rotates based on orientation of your face! (You can read lying in bed now, YEAH)
Display battery percentage (great)
Smart stay - keeps backlight on if you are looking at the display
Doesn't say if changing font size is more universal than it was onthe original note (which only affected a few apps)
Samsung is mistaking us with iPhone users lol

PhoneArena did a review which included a small battery life test.
They put the phone on 100% brightness and airplane mode and played a video for one hour. The Note II lost 8% of battery percentage, vs 13% for the GS3 and 17% for the Note 1.
Given that with the note 1 on WiFi, 40% brightness, power saver mode and a custom kernel, I can get +5h of continuous usage (xda/verge apps, web browsing, you tube), I can't wait to see what this new beast is capable of.

No specifications at all, strangely.
It's not in any of the other posted manuals either. Guess we're waiting for an unboxing video now.

Not a word about multiple windows like in the Korean launch demo in this manual....

Changed link to version 1.1 manual as per this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32250493&postcount=121
Only change I can see is the addition of multi window on page 32.
Still no sign of 'screen recorder' as shown in the first look video.

After the recent update from ICS to JB, many have noticed new S-Note problems.
Problems:
1.) Palm Detection Fail
2.) Missing Full Screen Function
This thread is to consolidate everything together. And bring awareness and hopefully find a fix or workaround to these issues.
Darkman posted the old version of S-Note, but so far there no one has confirmed that they work on JB.

S Note's not broken in JB, it's different and OP isn't pleased with some of the changes Samsung made. This is what he posted in another thread...

I've been using the updated version of S Note in JB since November and have been fine with it. I guess others have been too since this is the first time someone's called the new features "issues." And you can't just apply a different S Note APK because there are supporting files that it needs and it will FC when you try to open it. I don't know what to tell you OP, it is what it is.
Full screen is one thing, but how can you stand the palm detection issue?
If you rest your hand on the screen first before your s-pen gets within proximity, it will unintentionally zoom.
Before, There was no problem with palm touching the screen first.
You are fine with this?

Samsung added scroll bars at the bottom and right of an active S Note because people were unhappy with the scrolling box in earlier versions. The scroll bars are sensitive to non-pen input even when palm rejection is active. I'm guessing this is to make it easier to navigate around an S Note. They also added multi-point non-pen input so that even when the palm rejection is active, if you touch the display in two places at once (EG: with two fingers), it will allow zooming. So since I've known this I avoid touching the scroll bar areas and make sure that my palm touches the display solidly so it's not mistaken for "two fingers." Here's a quick video showing what I'm talking about.
And here's something that might help. In the newer version of S Note that added a new template, "landscape note." At 100% it uses the all of the Note's display and therefore doesn't need to display scroll bars. So you get some of the real estate that you lost with the elimination of full screen mode back as well as eliminating the scroll bars which are sensitive to input even with palm rejection on.
And to answer your question, I am fine with it because I hated the scroll box and there are times when I do navigate with my fingers (scroll bars, two finger zoom) while I'm primarily using the pen.
Trust me, it's not the scroll bars that is causing the scrolling hahaha.
BTW, your video is private.
If that was the issue, then people who are complaining would be retarded.
You can put your palm right in the middle of the page, FAR away from any scroll bars on the side, and STILL it will zoom wildly.
Yes, even in the landscape template.
Maybe your palm is different than mine and many others. Because when I'm holding the S-PEN, the moment my side palm hits the screen, the Note zooms CRAZILY!!! All over the place.

Oops. Sorry. You can see in the video that S Note only responds to non-pen touch when I make contact with the display with more than two points.
I see in your video your palm movement indeed does not induce the same Zooming that I have experienced.
I suspect this is because your palm is only contacting the screen at one point.
The way you have learnt to hold your pen, only the back of your palm (near the wrists) rests on the screen.
For many of us, the whole side blade of our palm rests on the screen, therefore presents many more Points of Contact resulting in misinterpreted Zoom behavior.
Mmmh! You could clearly see the issue at ~16 seconds with the zoom (top right) starting to do its crazy thing... nice bit of palm re-adjusting in an attempt to hide it
Whilst the scroll bar is a good addition, they borked palm rejection! They could of integrated the pen button for zooming, scrolling, pen only and full screen.
I also have a bug which must be solved quickly!
When I use form recognition for drawing schema, SNote often deletes previous forms and I can't use the revert feature.
Any other similar experience?
Im really not sure how people are complaining about the new S Note. The old one had a fair number of bugs and limitations. Great new features I noticed are:
- Switch between eraser and pen with pen button -love this
- PDF import actually works and doesn't crash S Note
- Pam rejection mode is gone but new mode does allow for scrolling and zooming which I like.
- New scrollbar is useful
- You can now scroll tops of pages to below the top toolbar. Not being able to do that before was annoying. Eliminates need to hide the toolbar.
- Air view with hovering pen makes for easy scrolling.
- Air view also brings up help tips when hovered over anything in S Note. It also let you expand a folder in the file select screen and you can go right to a note in that file.
Probably even more I may have missed. I think losing the full screen is definitely a fair trade off, especially as several people have mentioned, it's not even as useful anymore. I do agree it would be nice to still have as an option so that you can have a full pad of paper on your screen. But it is definitely not a dealbreaker. With all the new features and bug fixes I think you'd be nuts to downgrade to an older S Note just for that.
And the palm detection??? It's always behaved that way... get used to putting the pen close to the screen before your hand and you won't have problems. It was that way in ICS and it's not hard to get used to. Again having the total palm rejection mode as a second option would be preffered but certainly not a dealbreaker. The new mode also has advantages.

I can guarantee you that Palm Detection did NOT function in the same way before.
In fact, in 4.0.4, S-Note would not even Zoom unless touch access was enabled.
So there was no chance of miss detection.
All the other features you list are great, but besides the point.
Just because you fed your kid a nice meal of Kraft Dinner does not excuse you from murdering it after.

I have noticed that if you lift the pen while writing then either the screen zooms or it starts making marks on the page. This is why I have switched to Write app for the notes app with it set to ignore all touch input (still registers the pen touch) and works great. Just wish I could change page background.
Now I really use the pen much more and like it more also.
Hey guys...I haven't seen a thread started for this yet and since I've been toying around with my M8 all day I figured I'd share 2 bugs I seem to have found and if you guys have found any feel free to contribute. Any edits I make will be for resolutions and updates to the bugs found. So far what I've found:
- I seem to have difficulty deleting files off of the external SD card. I have my pictures saving by default to it and I noticed if I delete one it disappears then pops back up. This happens through ES File Explorer.
--Issue lies with Kit Kat version not the phone itself
- When I manually set my brightness and then open up the camera it auto increases the brightness (which I don't think is a bug) the bug however, when you exit the camera app the brightness remains the same and doesn't revert back to your manual setting.
--If you exit the camera and then shut the screen, when you turn the screen on again you have your manually set brightness back.
- the buttons like to reappear over the top in immersive mode, they appear on the side if rotation is disabled
- the task switcher has options at the top, task manager and close all that get covered by the notification bar at the top
- blinkfeed looks odd with the 4 menu buttons still appearing
- Possible static on other end when using speakerphone
- Cannot take pictures of front and back of a check with the Bank of America app check deposit feature
- Snapchat filters will cause the screen to flicker.
- When authorising Sense's access to Facebook the Facebook app will take you to your newsfeed, meaning you cant authroise until you get to the homescreen. It's somewhat confusing, if you already have a HTC phone you won't see this issue.
Let me know if you find anything else on the Verizon model please as this is the one I will be getting in a few weeks. If others comment please specify which carrier model to maybe help. Thanks

It *is* possible to modify the contents of the internal and removable sdcard when connected to the PC. As discussed in several threads elsewhere, KitKat 4.4.2 has modified the manner in which apps are permitted to write to the sdcard. I'm wracking my brains because of a number of issues I'e encountered (and I have a 128g card!)
Also in the bug list:
Can't get Amazon Appstore to download apps (download always fails).
- the buttons like to reappear over the top in immersive mode, they appear on the side if rotation is disabled
- the task switcher has options at the top, task manager and close all that get covered by the notification bar at the top
- blinkfeed looks odd with the 4 menu buttons still appearing

A restart of the phone fixes this.
I had the same issue. I believe its due to the spotify video which starts on the firs time launch of the app.
Guys, I have updated the OP as of the latest bugs found by Electronic Punk. When posting bugs we find please specify which version you have international, Verizon, etc. When we find a resolution to the bug I will post underneath the bug in the OP in bold red.
1.54.401.5 although now running that same version on Android Revolution HD 2.2
want to clarify the last one as it looks the same on sense 5.5 but the blinkfeed did not continue underneath the buttons (ie phone, camera - that row)
In Sense6 it does and looks bad.
In addition, on ~Blinkfeed if you swipe left
the options menu covers about 2/3rd of the screen and stops about half way over the task switcher, looks really odd.

Anyone else having problems with the loudspeaker while on the phone to someone? I've tried using the loud speaker while on the phone to 2 different people and both have said the moment I put them on loud speaker they hear loads of static in the background
OP updated...Noticed the Bank of America app taking pictures of a check for check deposit does not work.
