Hello,
I have a storage drive with data on it that I want to be able to access from my HD2 but sadly I can't get it to connect. I have connected to the WiFi successfully and have the expected network address but I can't get it to connect. I have tried the following:
1. Go to file explorer
2. Menu > Go To > Open Path
3. New Path
4. \\dm105
5. I also tried \\IPADDRESS
I guessing the problem is due it being attached to a Windows 7 machine. Does anyone have any idea how to make it work? My windows XP box can connect to the drive no problem...
With \\IPADDRESS it says that network resource cannot be found. With \\DM105 it says my connection settings are missing but then I don't know what to do...
I get exactly the same problem, I'd expect at least a login prompt!
This may solve the problem
- Go to Settings -> All Settings (to get the original Windows Setting) -> Connections -> Wi-fi -> Click on Wireless Network -> Choose your network for the list -> change 'Connects to': from 'internet' to 'Work'.
Try to connect again from file explorer.
Good Luck
I want to ask if it possible when I connect via WiFi, QuickGPS automatically download data (like same way when I connect via ActiveSync).
I dont care about the way (script, shortcut of exe, registry, other way...).
well, i have the KalimochoAz v10.12 /2.3-rom on my rooted Click. (i know, there are now newer versions, but this is ok for now) and a Haipad M701 (chinese android 2.1-7"-Tablet, rooted) i'd like to use the data (apn/3g) connectrion from my phone to use internet on my pda via wlan.
If i understood everything right, that's what tethering is. I also installed 2 apps (Barnacle Wifi tether and wireless tether) on my phone. I think, i did everything that is set-able, but when i swicht on wlan on my pad, i don't see my SSID i gave for my click.
Anyone got an idea or guide? (i "just" want to acces my Click from the Tablet via WLAN so I can use the 3G-Connection of my Click to surf the net on my Tablet.)
Thanks in advance!
Wireless tether for root works fine for me.
Install the app, run the app, grant su permissions, click for tether and find AP you've created. If you cannot find your AP(tattoo) just wait some time.
i somehow don't get it.
I firstly enable APN (data/3g) connection on my phone and ensure, i can access the internet. then i start the app. (should i activate Wifi on the phone?)
I used Wireless Tether for Root users (2x version 2.X and also the exp. v.3.0 pre11), i just start the app on the phone, disable encribtion (should i care?), check the ssid-name (tried renaming or default), checked the cannel (used 1,7 and 10) and just click that wifi-icon to start.
the phone sais, it's on. then on my tablet (2.1), i just go to settings/wlan/advanced -> set ON and search for AP's, but my phone is not listed.
Did I forget something?
well, just installed the current version of the rom, and everything works fine.
EXCEPT... tethering. I use the version from the marked, used enc. or disabled it, my PC (win 7 x64) found my click, but my android-tablet still did not find it. why?
Re
i faced the same problem, by default settings.
However enabling "Wifi'Encryption" from menu, to WEP-128bit (with default password: abcd .. ) worked.
Hi,
I use "Wireless Tether for Root Users" from the Market and it works fine. By the way I tried it on several different ROMs including CM7_RC2.2 (Gingerbread) and Fyodor's AOSP (Froyo).
Are you enabling Wi-Fi on your phone? You need your regular 3G connection + Wifi enabled. Then launch the application and click the big wifi icon in the middle.
Perhaps you can try CM7 ROM, maybe you current ROM is somehow not compatible.
Regards,
Hi I have a data enabled HTC Snap, but I can't enable internet sharing. The connect option is grayed out. I have tried to enable and disable ActiveSync but it doesn't help.
I thought it might have been a problem with the file
I have the installer as well and I tried to install it, but it didn't work and says that it does not have sufficient system permissions.
Anyone know how I can fix it?
Solved:
Reinstalled it, exited out of some background tasks for internet sharing, and it reinstalled fine.
I have a problem with my Arc S. It's running Sony final ICS.
When I plug it to my computer it used to give me a popup message about PC companion (do you want to install it on the pc...). I clicked no and ticked do not show again. Now I have ap problem - I cannot connect the phone to any PC anyore.
I know that I can re-eable the companion dialog under settings -> Connectivity, ony problem I do not have that menu.
Anybody knows how to reset it? (either on the phone or via adb shell)
I just download and install the latest companion software and the PC recognizes it just fine hope it could held

I have tried removing /data/data/com.sonyericsson.settings and remove the SemcSettings.apk - reboot twice. Confirmed the xperia section had been removedfrom settings. Then I reinstalled the SemcSettings.apk - now the section is back, but it is still empty
Anything else I can try?
