I have tried removing /data/data/com.sonyericsson.settings and remove the SemcSettings.apk - reboot twice. Confirmed the xperia section had been removedfrom settings. Then I reinstalled the SemcSettings.apk - now the section is back, but it is still empty
Anything else I can try?

When I connect the K-Jam to the PC, using a USB cable, ActiveSync 4.1 detects the device. It starts connecting but it doesn't get a real connection. After a few minutes, it stops connecting.
I tried several soft resets, but they didn't help. Sync did work on a previous installation of Windows XP (SP2) but on a freshly installed system, I can't get it to work.
When I connect the device I do get an error saying "a duplicate name exists on the network". But I have no idea on how to solve this.
There is no firewall or anti-virus software installed.
If read about MTU in other threads, but I can't find that entry in the registry.
Who can help me out?
(PS trying to sync via Bluetooth is also not working )
Try changing the PDA name.....
..... go to Start > Settings > System > About > Device ID.
change the device ID and see if it will connect.
I had a problem like this with an old Dell X50 that would not let me sync when I had done a restore. There are ways to resolve the issue but I can't remember them off the top of my head. See if the name change works first though.
Good luck

Hi. I tried this, but it didn't work. So I did a hard reset and tried it again. And now, it's working fine again.
I find this solution for running ActiveSync connected thru BT via one click. I tried it on my MDA Compact and it works.
Hope it helps.

On the Pocket PC...
1. ActiveSync / Tools / Options... / Options... (yes options twice)
2. "When cradled Enable PC sync using this connection" 'Bluetooth
3. Startup an ActiveSync connection as you normally would...
4. Now setup a shortcut to the program "windows\repllog.exe" into the Start menu. To do this
a. open up Explore in ActiveSync
b. Go into My Pocket PC
c. Go into Windows folder
d. Find repllog.exe and right click and select copy
e. Go into the Start Menu folder (within Windows folder)
f. Right click, paste shortcut - rename to something like ActiveSync Direct
Back on the Pocket PC
5. Gracefully disconnect ActiveSync.
6. Start / Settings / Buttons
7. Choose Button 4
8. Set the button assignment as ActiveSync Direct (or whatever you called it above) and click OK
9. Reset your Pocket PC and wait about 15 seconds for everything to get loaded (esp. Bluetooth which takes a little while).
10. Press the top left side button. Voila! Easy!
If you get the ActiveSync - "Port Not Available" message, it just means that Bluetooth hasn't loaded yet. Tap OK, check that Bluetooth is activated and if so, try again.
Thanks for the post. Ive been having trouble getting this to work however.

Im using WM5, and firstly i dont have the option..option menu and secondly when i try to paste repllog it tells me that the file is copy protected or something like that.
Any ideas???
Help appreciated.....
Try to use Resco File Explorer instead of M$ Explorer. When you 'right click' on Windows/repllog.exe, there is 'Send To...' -> 'Start Menu as Shortcut' option in menu.

IMHO
help with activesync only com1
every time i install bluetooth usb stack, it uses new com79, com80, now and i cannot sync over bt like i did before.
How can i delete those comports?in device manager under advanced in com1, tells me that from com2-com80 are in used.?????
Any idea, thanks
remove your stack from PC, then delete all com ports except 1 & 2 , use buttons windows + break & install stack again!
in properties of each ports set different com for example com1 , ignore errors , delete free changed one! do so with each wrong port
THANKS A LOT! PROBLEM WITH COM79,COM80,COM81......FIXED
thanx rustoss, you are BIG! i dont unplug usb stack even.....i just ignore all notifications and change my only COM1, to com5, and thats it!.i can activesync by bt again.thanks again
Hey folks. I am trying to rename my device (I have some software tied to the deivce ID), but everytime I connect to my desktop via activesync, the device is getting renamed.
How can I stop that?
Did you delete the Activesync partnership on your PC before connecting the re-named device? I find that usually works.
Yes, i did.
I loaded AS on the desktop, "File" -> "Delete Mobile Device".
Then, I goto the tytn (unplugged from the pc) and rename it using Start -> settings -> system -> about ->device ID and clicked "ok".
then, I re-connect the tytn (via cable).
ActiveSync then connects, but uses the OLD device name (It does go thru the setup portion - what to sync, etc.) but still on the old name.
Did you soft reset after changing the device name?

yes, I did.
If you remove active sync (program) from both your PC & also delete all sync settings on your PPC, then you wil be able to reset your "name" to whatever you desire.

Hi guys,
Just connected the HD to a new Columbus radio system using rSAP.
First of all, I am not the one who made the .cab file needed, I simply followed the instructions on this site, and fiddled around a bit:
http://briskoda.net/superb-ii/howto...us-rns510-using-non-compatible-mobile/131709/
Here's what I did to get it working:
1) Download the .cab files from the above mentioned thread
2) Install .net compact framework 3.5
3) Install the BT_sap.cab file, it will say installation failed, but just ignore that..
4) Using file explorer, find "SAP settings" in the windows folder and click it.
5) Go to start => settings => connections => bluetooth and turn on bluetooth and make your device visible.
6) Uncheck the authentication or password box, then check the box that says "remote sim acces"
7) Connect to the radio.
That's all folks
Hope it works for you, please write your findings here.

Question :
What happens to your phone after you leave your car ?
With my diamond, the phone does not login to any network after SAP disconnects , I have to reset the device or turn off/on the phone from the communication manager :-(
Otherwise , it's working fine though

I've got the same problem. It went away for a while and my phone reconnected normally. But recently I had to soft reset my phone and the trouble has started all over again.
Has anyone resolved this issue? I did manage to get it working earlier (but I don't know how), so there must be a resolution to it.

Same here.I installed an Energy rom and connected the phone to car, after i leave the car, the phone doesnt turns on, just need to soft reset it.
On my Touch Dual, i had installed a BT_SAP.cab file, and worked perfectly, everytime i left the car, the phone turned the network on.
Still no solution to Blackstone ?

Hello,
I have a storage drive with data on it that I want to be able to access from my HD2 but sadly I can't get it to connect. I have connected to the WiFi successfully and have the expected network address but I can't get it to connect. I have tried the following:
1. Go to file explorer
2. Menu > Go To > Open Path
3. New Path
4. \\dm105
5. I also tried \\IPADDRESS
I guessing the problem is due it being attached to a Windows 7 machine. Does anyone have any idea how to make it work? My windows XP box can connect to the drive no problem...
With \\IPADDRESS it says that network resource cannot be found. With \\DM105 it says my connection settings are missing but then I don't know what to do...
I get exactly the same problem, I'd expect at least a login prompt!
This may solve the problem
- Go to Settings -> All Settings (to get the original Windows Setting) -> Connections -> Wi-fi -> Click on Wireless Network -> Choose your network for the list -> change 'Connects to': from 'internet' to 'Work'.
Try to connect again from file explorer.
Good Luck
