Tethering?
Wi-Fi Hotspot:
Settings --> Wireless & Networks/More... --> Tethering & Portable Hotspot --> check "Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot"
Setup Wi-Fi Hotspot --> Here you can change the SSID (name) of your Wi-Fi network, add/remove security (WPA2 PSK recommended), and change the password.
USB Tether:
Connect your phone to the computer via USB, access tethering options the same way as the hotspot, check "USB Tethering"

I'm not sure if the xbox supports USB tethering, but I could be wrong. With the wifi hotspot, try disabling the password and see if it works then.
I had a my touch 4g before and used a wifi Tether app cause I was rooted and it worked but when I tried using the same tethering app it said that there was a installation bindery error see show log

Try the stock tethering interface. Disable the security (for testing purposes) and see if it works.

I have searched the forum far and wide and so far haven't found anything on this. Is it a possiblity to tether over bluetooth on the Atrix? I currently pay for tethering but using the mobile hotspot feature chews battery life up 10 fold. Any thoughts or ideas on this??
Plug your phone in??

"Wireless Tether for root users" allows Bluetooth Tether.

Did you ever get an answer to the tethering issue??? I can't tether my Xoom either. wifi works fine, But i'd rather use the BT.... Rooted 1.8.3 GB 3.1
I have successfully enabled Bluetooth tethering on my atrix 4g from my windows 7 x64 computer. Basically i did the following.
1) Install wireless tethering application 2.0.7
2) Under settings in wireless tether, navigate to Bluetooth, then make sure use Bluetooth is checked. Also check don't disable Wi-Fi. Also if you haven't paired check make discoverable.
3) click on the wireless icon to enable tethering.
4) from your computers Bluetooth software, enable Bluetooth Dun.
5) add new connection from Bluetooth software, pair with atrix, it should connect, and you will see a yellow shield pop up on the Atrix with the computers ip address, which means the connection is made. After 30 seconds or so, internet should be enabled on the windows 7 computer.
I hope this helps!

Unfortunately, this did not work for me. When I loaded the wireless tethering app it said that my kernel does not allow me access control or something along those lines. Yes, I'm rooted so I guess that's not the issue. Also, when I paired my phone with my computer, the only option it gave me was for bluetooth file transfer and not DUN. Any ideas? Oh yeah, I'm running Mac OSX but that shouldn't make a difference. (?)
Do i have to have wifi thether plan to have a hotspot with this phone cause i thought since its european unlocked i might not need to have one...

Does you're wifi tethering work? I can't get it to work.
It's installed, it's sending a signal, but I can't pick up the signal on any of my computers, phones, or tablets.
I'm using wireless tether 2.0.8.
Don't install another app (wireless tether).
Use the program that comes stock on your phone. You can find it under settings > wireless and network > tethering and portable hotspot > portable wi-fi hotspot settings.

Thanks. I guess I'll stick with this one.
I guess there is no point for anyone to write a kernel for this app to allow netfilter-enable, especially since the stock one actually shows up as a wifi signal as opposed to ad-hoc.
Hey

You need to be rooted. After flashing, you'll find that option (Settings > Wireless & Networks > Tethering and portable hotspot).
there is no option to do it without root the device?
there is not external app that can do the same thing ?
Well, is there any options similar to what I said in my last post?

No, you need to mod the kernel at least.
Beamed from my Grouper.
Hi guys,
The other day my Ethernet cable plugging my desktop PC into the router broke, meaning I now have no internet access on my PC.
I was wondering if there was some way to plug my phone in via USB, and use my phones WiFi signal to access internet on the computer.
Any one know how this can be done?
Thanks.

Yes, it's straight forward enough.
Connect your phone to your WiFi network
Hook up your USB
Then go to Settings > more > tethering & portable hotspot and tick USB tethering

I tried that and it wouldn't let me enable it - could it be a problem with the ROM? Miui v5

Hey guys, my PC decided today that it would fry the WiFi adapter. I don't have a Ethernet cable long enough to reach my PC. I was wondering if I could share the WiFi connection from my Nexus 4 to my PC via USB. And no, I don't want to use my data connection because it so slow. Is there a way to do this?

This is quite obvious. Turn on Wi-Fi and enable USB-Tethering. I would turn off mobile data, just in case

But doing that turn WiFi off automatically and leaves data on
Edit: nvm turning off data did it
