[Q] firmware boot problem - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm having a problem. The 'Charging paused...' message kept popping up so I tried to flash a different official rom via odin. Unfortunately the flash failed and now when I try to turn on the phone the 'Firmware upgrade encountered an isuue......' message comes up. I tried connenting to kies also but can not to do so. I have hope as i can get into download mode but can't flash a rom. I got halfway once then suddenly it failed again. Your help is much appreciated.
please help

Kies is probably the culprit here... It interferes with ODIN flashing.
Don't really use it as it is very much like Itunes... Besides, it keeps trying to copy 56gb of music and 6Tb of videos to my phone... Not too impressed...

Why You Need Kies after using Odin Flash firmware with Odin
Even if you have this message - "there is a problem with the firmware"
This is also a download mode reconnect cable and Flash

[Q] Help needed bricked my SM-N900

So today I was trying to update my phone to a newer version of 4.4.2 I downloaded N900ZSUDNG1_N900OZSDNG1_BRI also Odin v3.09, Odin detects my phone perfectly but flashing fails every time i tried 4 different USB ports and same thing at the end of flashing it says FAILED but i see no error on the log it goes all the way to where it writes CACHE it seems and then says FAILED any ideas as to what to do to recover my phone would be appreciated.
Hey good morning,
I would suggest you to flash root (knox will be flagged 0x1)
Then flash cwm (or any recovery you like)
Put a nice ROM in your SD card (use another device or a card reader for pc)
Boot into recovery, wipe all data and flash the rom.
(* the steps above WILL void your warranty)

Try a different region other than Hong Kong.
Flash again stock with odin and check md5 before

Usually Odin checks the MD5 validity of the file before it begins anything. If he just gets stuck on cache, the MD5 check must have passed.

[Q] Help a moron out and get paid

Note 3 in the middle of firmware UG cat pulls power cord out of the wall. Error message says repairable in Kies. I have not the time to figure it out myself. Is there someone out there who could fix the issue, install a Rom and send it back to me for a reasonable amount of money?
Are you able to boot to odin/download mode on the phone? If you can then you can try to flash firmware that is compatible with your phone to fix it.

Hey thanks for the quick response. I've got it connected in Odin. Any suggestions for fw?
Go to www.sammobile.com and find ur note 3. Then download the fw, extract the zip or rar and put the files into odin. Then flash =)

Fixed it!!You are a gentleman and a lady. Thank you so much.

I Need Help Please! PLEASE HELP!

Hello Everyone, i got a note 3 phone
SM-N9005 FCC ID: A3LSMN9005
SSN:- N9005GSMH
MADE IN VIETNAM BY SAMSUNG..
i bought this note 3 phone from UAE and it was with Kitkat 4.4.2 and when i was using it, some apps used to stop and not responding and get a pop-up message "System has stopped" or something like .com.system has stopped responding, also when i open some other apps the phone shuts down, so i turn it on, sometimes it works fine and sometimes it stops responding and shut down many times, so i had to make a full restore factory reset and still have the same problem, some guys told me you have problems with the rom, so i had to look for stock roms to it and found a lollipop rom under this name (AP_N9005XXUGBNL8_CL3643614_QB3415922_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar) and i installed samsung usb drivers just to make sure that everything is okay.
so when i started flashing it by odin it said Fail, so i tried once again but failed again, and i found my phone went to that black screen with (firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode in kies & try again), i couldn't get to my previous kitkat rom after that, but i'm able to go to download mode and recovery mode, so after this( brick) i had to search of how to unbrick it so after that i flashed philz as a recovery mode, and then flashed (All samsung recovery.tar) so then after flashing it, that message of (firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode in kies & try again) is gone, but i got another loop of restart each time i open the phone, it is not booting it is only taking me to the black start screen of android, and after a while it restarts itself.. and then when i tried to flash the same rom once again and connected my phone to my computer, drivers started configuring and so i waited to finish, but it failed it said (MTP USB Device Failed), though i still can see the phone connected over Odin in download mode.
so i had to look for another rom which is a kitkat stock version (N900TUVUCNB4_N900TTMBCNB4_N900TUVUCNB4_HOME.tar) which i found after downloading it and flashing it to my phone that it is for n900, which is normally failed flashing!.
so I don't know if i messed things up or not, and i really don't know what else or more to do ?
please give me your advice so i can restore this phone to its original stats.
Thank You!
Are you sure the first firwmware you flashed is a full stock firmware?. What is the size?.
The second firmware you flashed isn't for n9005. Try different firmware specifially for UAE.

I see. It's a leaked lollipop firmware. Flash again with 4 files except pit. First boot will take some time.

1. Go to Download Mode.
2. Tell me if you can flash this ONE using ODIN. It's the latest for KSA (Country Saudi Arabia).

Choose corresponding file for BL, AP, CP & CSC. Do not tick repartition. You could also try with the firmware as suggested by joku

You have repartion ticked but without a pit file, so obviously it will fail.

Can't update

Hi,
I'm having a problem with updating my note 3 ...I keep getting a notification saying can't update . This device is modified.
The device was rooted but I removed the root today to finally update the device but even after unrooting im still getting this message ....YOUR DEVICE HAS BEEN MODIFIED, NO SOFTWARE UPDATES ARE AVAILABLE.
i used root checker and it says the device is not rooted and my knox is valid, Then i tried updating in safe mode ( with and without sd) but still getting the same message, thanks in advance.
Try to update it via samsung kies
If it fails , Go to sammobile and download your phone firmware and flash it via Odin
Search google to know how to make that
