I had a similar problem with mine, but only when I rooted it. It would send and receive MMS and then stop and never send or receive MMSs again. The solution for me was resetting and going back to pre-rooted (unrooted?)
Is your device rooted?

For some reason I can only send MMS messages if I'm not connected to wifi. If I connect to wifi it will just try to send forever, and I've noticed that the wifi is trying to download and upload instead of the data part. But as soon as I disconnect from wifi and try to send an MMS no problem at all. Anyone ever seen this before?
I Believe this is normal.. Mine does the save thing.
Even on data I sometimes have to send MMS twice for anything to send.

Wow I thought I was the only one going through that ,it is annoying, but it wasn't always like that

I just got the Note 3 a couple of hrs ago and I noticed I couldn't send an MMS but I could receive one. I created a new apn and now I can send and receive. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem?
I deal with APN related issues about 5 times a day on the Dutch T-Mobile forums alone. It's normal on any smartphone that the settings are sometimes incorrectly inserted by the sim or configuration text.
I always enter them myself as opposed to using the preconfiguration.
Yea I just wonder what was wrong with original only difference was name so idk why it didn't work.

The server looks for a specific access point name, so if it doesn't match, it's not recognized.
Yea I did research and it seems ppl have been having problems with that particular apn. Would have thought they would fix it by now.

Here what i had to do...
Just about a week ago, a friend asked me to get cyanogenmod going on his Cricket Galaxy S4. I loaded the latest SNAPSHOT at the time (M7), and everything seemed to work okay as he had service, data, text, calls, whatnot. Only thing that isn't working right now is MMS. An update to a more recent nightly didn't help, an update to the latest SNAPSHOT didn't help. We've tried editing the APN, adding a fresh new APN for Cricket, but nothing seems to work. When attempting to send a picture message, the SMS application just shows "Sending" but never sends anything. Switching to Hangouts doesn't do any good either. I'm trying to fix this problem before deciding the phone goes back to stock touchwiz. Does anybody here have any idea what's going on here and how to fix it, if there is a fix at all? Again, it's a Samsung Galaxy S4 from Cricket Wireless.
Hey there.

Same phone, same carrier, same issue. Unfortunately these are known issues with running CM on the S4.
I was running SM for quite a while in hopes this would get resolved but it has been quite a while and there does not seem to be any progress on it.
I reflashed mine back to stock to restore MMS functionality.
There were a couple other issues too. It has been quite a while but I know one of them was I would never get 4G service, only 3G.

Hi guys I need your help, I have had this note 3 for 1 month I notice that my data keeps dropping in and out but yet I have 3 to 4 bars of signal, I have pulled Sim card out and also did a soft reset but still the same problem I am wondering if this is a common problem or should I just take back the note and get a refurb note.

Hey, are you rooted or pure stock. If you're rooted I'd try flashing a different modem in Odin here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47400062
If you're pure stock and not rooted at all, I'd probably give big red a call or stop in at your nearest store for a replacement.

Thank you for this. I am running stock rooted NC2. Going to try the NC4 file to see if it helps. Both data and voice have not been great on my phone lately. Even text messages have failed sometimes.
Are these instructions correct?
-download modem file, extract
-start Odin.
-Select "phone" and fetch the modem.bin file.
-Only thing checked should be "Auto Reboot"
-Put phone in download mode
-Plug in USB
-hit Start
-reboot

I'm on vacation right now so I can't completely confirm but the modem file should show up in the ap slot. It varies from phone and area but nc4 works great for me. Some people are using the mje modem on kk. It's a trial and error for you. Hope it's just the modem and not your phone.

I experienced this issue when running on GSM networks, i fixed my data stability issue by adjusting my APN settings and changing a couple of uncommon things such as adjusting mvno type to IMSI, bearer type to LTE, and removing the port for data (not MMS!), and fixed my signal stability issue by upgrading or downgrading the modem depending on what rom i was running.
If I am under verizon because they do not use GSM how do I Change apn setting and also whatever else do I have to change on a non rooted phone.

I'm not quite sure why you'd need to change APN settings if you're still on verizon (unless you're using a network that runs off of verizon towers). But the answer to your question is go to settings > mobile networks > Access Point Names. You'll need to leave MCC and MNC as they are. Those change based on what kind of network you are connected to. If you change those your APN settings will not save.
Hi Christaina do you think by changing those setting will help my phone from dropping data on and of while on foxfi and surfing the net

The only reason I ask is I have unlimited data and I use this for all of of my needs and I cannot afford to have data dropping so much

That honestly sounds like a modem issue but could potentially be fixed by apn settings by actually setting the authentication type, APN type set to default, hirpri, internet, mms I don't know any of the verizon APN settings because im using this phone on straight talk through AT&T towers.
flash MJE modem
Thanks

I am for some reason not able to send pictures at all. I have used hangouts, stock and Verizon text. Is there something I need to do to allow pics to be sent out?
Sent from my HTC6545LVW using XDA-Developers mobile app
There shouldn't be an issue. Have you tried removing and re-inserting your SIM card? If that doesn't work, are you able to send pictures with web app for Verizon messages? https://web.vma.vzw.com/vma/web2/Message.do
Might be an APN issue. Have you checked your settings?
I can't download mms, while on Wi-Fi only when I connect to Verizon data

I had this problem not to long ago and it turned out that I had the sim tray pushed in to far. I ejected it and pushed it in until it was flush and it works fine now.
