Engle_Mars rom Engle_Mars-CM10.2-20130806-UNOFFICIAL-milestone2 problem - Milestone 2 General

Hello,
I have a problem with the rom CM 10.2 Engle_mars. I use actually CM10.1 and i send correctly sms but with CM10.2, directly i send a sms response is error 254
I check smsc with *#*#4636#*#* and for my smsc operator (mobistar = +32495002530 ) is correct.
someone has an idea?

Hi,
Same problem here.
And there s a third person, who has the same bug too, with CM 10.2 ROM.
Engle_Mars had the information (see the thread in Development Forum), and have to watch the log. We are waiting for a next answer.

I don't know really what the cause was, but I solved the problem by reinstalling the ROM with full wipe data...
then just test to send a sms with the native application without configuring anything.
hope it will help...

Hi!
I did full data wipe during initial 10.2 install, as well as cache/dalvik cleanup, and the problem was there from the beginning. I also force-closed the SMS/MMS app and cleared all its data and cache, and it also didn't help.
The following appears in the logcat during SMS send attempt:
Code:
V/SmsReceiverService( 7423): onStart: #1 mResultCode: -1 = Activity.RESULT_OK
D/dalvikvm( 1877): GC_EXPLICIT freed 414K, 30% free 5389K/7684K, paused 3ms+10ms, total 77ms

thanks a lot for this funny post you made my day!
wipe all -> espacially "system" is my favourite
but don't cry when no rom is installed afterwards
by the way... system is formatted by script in engle_mars's rom zip. so a data wipe is enough. cache and dalvik cache are on the data partition and are wiped automatically when you wipe data....

This usually helps. back up the data with titanium and restore after reflashing.

Dear Sirs, I was trying to to understand installing on Engle_Mars-SELinux-CM10.2-20131021. Now I have Retail British MILS2_U6_4.1-22_SIGNED_UCAMILESTONE2B1B80E1014.0R_UCXMILE2GBQWRTGB_P016_A006_HWp2a_Service1FF.sbf.gz. What should I do?
Root?
clockworkmod 6???
Or Team Win Recovery Project????
Thank You

I got it, I had to first get root and burn for cm10.

battery are lasting many hours?

Not very long.
About 60% battery supports about 22h. This is a backup battery which had been in storage mode for months.
For a "Active" battery, I could get about 70% battery for about 2 days.

I'm having trouble updating applications play in store, the 403 error appears on all updates. I looked for solutions on google without success. Someone with the same problem? How to solve?

hi,when i touch bluetooth phone will be reboot and allway live at the cm logo.

Hi dat00,
See the steps bellow:
1) Root your phone (you may use SuperOneClick root method)
2) Install Droid2 Bootstrap Recovery
3) Open Droid2 Bootstrap Recovery and tap "Bootstrap Recovery", then "Reboot Recovery" granting root privileges. The phone should reboot into recovery. Use volume buttons to navigate, camera button to accept, power button to go back. You will install files by selecting "Install zip from sdcard".
4) Optionally: create a backup of your data
5) Install latest CM ROM image file.
6) Optionally: install Google Apps
7) Select "Wipe data/factory reset"
8) Reboot and enjoy

Friend, I know you'd prefer CWM as you are a New User...Believe me, I too preferred CWM sometime ago..I bricked my phone atleast three times using CWM before I succesfully installed Merruk 2.5 Deluxe using ODIN(on first attempt)..you just follow the tutorial carefully. You'll get it done for sure..READ THIS AT FIRST-- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1640668
There's the ODIN section..Go through it and you'll find it much simpler...I did. Good Luck..!

here u go .try this at your own risk.
Procedure to install Stock ROM in Samsung Galaxy Y GT-5360
1.First download the zip file (link https://hotfile.com/dl/164864526/e7ba5c1/clockworkmod.zip.html) in your computer, extract it. After extracting you will get a folder with three files i.e. Backup, Desktop.jpg, Thumbs.db. and then with the help of USB cable connect the Galaxy Y with computer to place the three files i.e. Backup, Desktop.jpg, Thumbs.db right away in the SD card inside clockworkmod folder. Do not place in any subfolder.
2.Detach the cable
3.Just check that in the backup files there is a folder DDLE1 and in that there is Nandroid.rsf.tar, System.rfs.tar, Cache.rfs.tar etc. if these are missing then again continue the process from beginning.
4.Now its time to turn off the Y to boot into Clockworkmod recovery by pressing the Volume Up key, Home and then power button together. In case you have install the creed ROM then press the power button and select the Clockwork Mod to boot the same.
5.Now wipe data and cache partition. After this select Backup & restore-> Restore-> DDLE1->Confirm-restore DDLE1 and wait for 10 minutes to flash the ROM.
6.When the installation is finished, select ‘Reboot system now’.
If this doesn’t work then you have use odin way.
PLZ PRESS THANKS
I hate to see the people getting their basics wrong and doing it all complicated.
1) First of all, DONT use Creed six ROM, its NOT an official one(not by creed series OP pratyush.creed), its outdated, way better ROMs out there now. Try USSRv8/ Jelly Blast/ Hyperion, they are way better than Creeds Six in every way.
2) Use only XDA posts/ROMs/Kernels to get the correct info, dont rely on 3rd party websites. If you cant find something in xda, you cant find anywhere!
3) Im assuming you are installing Merruk Kernel 2.5 (deluxe #206 kernel) which only supports overclock.
The error code you are getting there is due to the ext4 flashing. Merruk #206 involves the conversion of system, data and cache to ext4 and flashing the kernel in ext4, its a ALL-IN-ONE pack.
To get a perfect combo of flashing merruk dev #206 follow these steps:
1) Flash back to stock ROM (Refer to doky73 thread in development)
2) Flash any custom ROM you desire via CWM( Refer its thread for instructions)
3) Download and copy the latest merruk kernel package(#206 deluxe all-in-one pack) to SD card
4) Backup your ROM using nandroid backup option from CWM
5) Flash the merruk kernel zip via CWM
6) Now, Go to advanced restore in CWM and restore data, system, cache
7) Reboot..
Thats it, your phone is now installed with latest merruk kernel(which involves the overclocking capability).

The solution was found by this user:
I fixed this issue by copying libhardware_legacy.so from my OEM ROM to the ported ROM. Rebooted and WiFi worked just fine

I would like to know how to apply this solution to the GT-I9505. I must confess I do not think there is a solution to my problem, so any suggestion will be very welcome.
I am using Stock 4.3
Thanks in advance
Must have something similar I've gone 3 days without WiFi
I'll give this a go and get back to you. :good:
Edit: What a random series of events!
I looked at the line in your Logcat 'E/WifiHW ( 879): Cannot open "/data/.cid.info": No such file or directory' and when I looked I did have this file so deleted it and tried Wifi, nothing.
So I tried to replace that 'libhardware_legacy.so' file, but without thinking about it I'd taken it from a stock TW rom when I'm on a AOKP based rom. Doh!
Of course, it didn't boot and then I was left thinking "Oh ****"
I then tried flashing an old Android 4.2 rom I had on my SDCard but I did it lazily by only formatting the system and clearing Cache and Dalvik.
When I restarted it showed the boot image and then did nothing, so I went back into recovery and restored the system partition from a backup I created the other day (But whilst it was broken) of the same ROM I was on at the beginning of this post.
When it booted again it had a weird corrupted image, from my experience that's normally Kernel related, I also had a copy of KT Kernel on my SDCard, so flashed that, then wiped Cache and Dalvik
Low and behold when it finally booted, I went into settings and there was Wifi switched on and had found all my local Wifis. I got it to connect and ran some speed tests. Also restarted the phone and switched it on and off to make sure it wasn't just a fluke or hoax and now it seems I'm all sorted!
.... But for how long....

I'll give this a go and get back to you. :good:

Well I actually took it from a ROM that was in zip format, that you can flash in CWM so was quite easy. I've included it for you to try. It may not work the same as mine so make sure you have a backup to revert to!
And the KT kernel I used was KT-SGS4-JB4.3-AOSP-INTL-11.14.2013, but you'll need the TW version if you're on stock ROM? That version can be downloaded Here.

I really appreciate the help, but this also did not work. I'm starting to think I have a hardware problem. is possible to diagnose it via ADB?
I'm thinking that I must have a problem with the permissions of folders and partitions, because the file "/ data / .cid.info" should be created automatically (if I'm not mistaken) and here, no matter what I do, this file is not available.
Could someone show me how to check the correct permissions for the folders and partitions?
Yeah that's really odd. The file is recreated for me when I was deleting it before and restarting. I'm not sure which file browser I'm using atm. 2 secs and I'll get some pictures up and the permissions for folders.
This is the file manager I'm using, should work ok. Hopefully it works with root features.
I've included pictures of permissions for folders, hopefully they help.
Whoops mis interpreted the pictures
Cat you give an example of what should be in the .cid.info?

KK 4.4 !! [Solved] Wifi Regional problem with sim card inserted

For 4.4 goto 2'nd post
This is for JB 4.3.1
If you like me have the problem of : ( wifi + sim_card ) = wifi not working
here is the fix : credits to HTCZ715E
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2368501
but just 1 more step , after making the new "telephony-common.jar" and adb push , and chmod 644
you HAVE TO wipe dalvik+cache
without wipe dalvik+cache it never worked for me.
HTC MyTouch 4G
[ROM] CM-10.2 | AOSP 4.3 Jellybean [KANG] [Oct-11]
cm-10.2-20131011-Albinoman887-glacier
Well heads up to the android 4.4
non of the previous solutions is not working :crying:
today i tried ROM Legacy Carbon 4.4
so i started to use my knowledge about cracking from the old MS-dos ages !!!!!!!!! and i cracked the bcmdhd.ko file
using IDA dissembler and HexEdit the bcmdhd.ko file.
Now wifi works again. :good:
The problem is that , in this method i cannot provide a universal file and you have to make your own cracked driver ".ko" file.
Or the developers of each Rom should use the working source code for the wifi driver which has the complete support for all languages.
refer to this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077329
and also here are some lines from logcat (i changed my mcc , mnc and country to XX ) with the cracked driver.
(i prefer to use cracking instead of patching because it was previously we called it)
Code:
D/Tethering( 1874): Exception adding default nw to upstreamIfaceTypes: java.lang.NullPointerException
E/wpa_supplicant( 2047): wpa_driver_nl80211_driver_cmd: failed to issue private commands
E/WifiStateMachine( 1874): Failed to set country code XX
D/MccTable( 2051): updateMccMncConfiguration: mcc=XXX, mnc=XX
D/MccTable( 2051): getLocaleFromMcc to null_ir mcc=XXX
D/MccTable( 2051): getLocaleForLanguageCountry: skipping no language
D/MccTable( 2051): WIFI_COUNTRY_CODE set to ir
I/WifiService( 1874): WifiService trying to set country code to XX with persist set to true
D/MccTable( 2051): updateMccMncConfiguration updateConfig config={1.0 XXXmccXXmnc ?locale ?layoutDir ?swdp ?wdp ?hdp ?density ?lsize ?long ?orien ?uimode ?night ?touch ?keyb/?/? ?nav/? themeResource=null}
I/ActivityManager( 1874): Config changes=3 {1.0 XXXmccXXmnc en_US ldltr sw384dp w384dp h615dp 200dpi nrml long port finger -keyb/v/h tball/v s.6 themeResource=null}
The whole problem started from the "wldev_set_country" function in "C" code in a ".h" file of wifi driver.
i don't have the knowledge to manipulate the source code of the wifi driver and compile compile the ".ko" file.
This method is not for pplz who don't know about reverse engineering.
So i opened the "bcmdhd.ko" in IDA disassembler and select the ARM Architecture.
Then searched for the "wldev_set_country" function and in the disassembled code there is some Branches which should be re-routed.
for example: (these are the OP-Codes of ARM cpu)
BNE loc_206E4 in the hex view window "08-00-00-0A"
BNE = Branch if not Equal , (and must have to change to just Branch no matter what is the result of compare )
0A = BNE
EA = B (Branch)
AA = BGE (Branch if Greater or Equal)
..... and etc
The important thing is that in IDA hex-view for examaple it shows : 000206BC 08 00 00 1A
but at the bottom of window it shows: 000206F0 <= this is the address which u needs to find and change in your hex-ediotor
and in hex editor we will change that 1A to 0A
The whole process i re-route 4 branches to get success.
Also i've checked it , and there is no need to appliy the previous patch "telephony-common.jar"
Only the bcmdhd.ko driver needs to patch
I attached the cracked version of my bcmdhd.ko file.
you can try it , BUT IT MAY NOT FOR YOUR COUNTRY AND/OR YOUR SIM CARD and for sure it only works in some Roms
this is the driver version from dmesg
Dongle Host Driver, version 5.90.195.114

i made the attachment for this Rom
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL] LegacyCarbon 4.4 \\ 18.11.2013 \\ Built From Source
you should unzip it and use "adb push" and "chmod 644 "
Code:
adb root
adb push bcmdhd.ko /system/lib/modules/
adb shell
su
cd /system/lib/modules/
chmod 644 bcmdhd.ko
and reboot

i'm root and s=off , HBOOT 75
and flashed, backed up, restored my phone more than 100 times last week . and never lost root
This is my old phone... Fun to be back here.
I am asking about this modified driver. I need to find out first if my phone uses this driver (looks like a broadcom driver), but if it is, I am going to try it.
My question to the author is: do the changes you made make this driver location agnostic? Because you changed the BNE, to just branch, it seems that you are allowing it to function regardless of the country (in the MMC).
I have an HTC One running 4.4 and my issue is that I really need to use channel 13. My router is set to 13, but no matter what changes I make to the wi-fi region encoding (the region encoding change is successful), I still am limited to only channels 1 to 11.
So I just thought I'd ask to get your input on this...
Thanks,
Paul
