process com.google.process.gapps has stopped working error

I've searched for a fix for this error but all it brings up are like 100 page threads and I can't get to the exact page. Does anybody know how I can stop getting this to pop up? I've tried switching roms but the next one does it as well. Any tips?
Nobody knows a fix for this one?
For me, turning off Sync Browser in sync settings for my Google account fixed this problem. I am using a HP Touch pad though, but should be the same on any android device.

Same thing is happening on my touchpad when I click sync browser that comes up. Turning it off is fine with me thanks for the tip.
This happened to me occasionally when I was running a custom rom but since I updated to the next version of the rom and flashed gapps, it hasn't come back. There did not appear to be a reason or rhyme. I tried to reinstall chrome and gmail but not sure of the results. May want to try that.

process com.google.process.gapps has stopped working
I have the same problem. The only difference that I know exactly when happened and what is the reason.
I upgraded to JellyBean, but just before that I force stopped some running apps thinking of a "clear" upgrade (WRONG).
Then after the upgrade (I was rooted before it) I opened Titanium Backup and noticed that some applications were showing as uninstalled ???
I did not uninstall them - but somehow they ended up uninstalled after the upgrade.
I suppose this happened because I stopped those few processes just before upgrading.
Now the applications showed as uninstalled are: "DRM Storage Protected..." Media Storage" , "Gallery" and some more
All those missing now ... I cannot start Google Store at all !? It opens for a second and closes itself. Tried to restore those with Titanium Backup but it does not restore them ... just runs endlessly.
PLEASE HELP !
I would try to flash the factory rom, unless you are using custom, flash the custom with gapps.

Here's the most simple fix. Remove your Google account and add it again.

It's been driving me nuts.
As soon as my Nexus 7 boots I get the message.
I removed my Google account and re-entered my details.
The message popped up again as soon as the account was added.
I'm on the stock 4.2.1 rooted ROM.
Factory reset next without restoring a backup.
Speaking of backup. When I used the ADB restore command.
I had the message that my device will restart. It did. I then had the Restore screen on my Nexus 7.
I hit Restore my data button or whatever it's called, and my tablet reset immediately. And no data was restored to my Nexus.
It's seems that is broken too.
I cleared Data and Cache of Browser (my stock Browser) and error disappeared, problem fixed...
I'm having this issue as well. Started happening after I flashed Paranoid Android 2.99 Beta 6 and the current gApps zip.

Did you tried this? (Comment before yours)
Finally cured it on my stock rooted Nexus 7.
Factory wipe and didn't restore any system apps.
So far so good.
I tried every other trick in the book.
So in the end, a wipe was the only option.

I just solved this on my Nexus. It was one of the google apps having a sync issue. I solved it by turning each one off till the error stopped then uninstalling it and reloading it.
TWRP 2.3.3 installed via Goomanager.
With rooted stock ROM 4.2.1 I used GooManager to download latest Paranoid Android 2.99 Beta 9 and GAPPS-JB-20121011.zip.
Factory reset and wipe of Cache & Dalvik then flashed PA from Goomanager
Nexus booted into PA
Opened Goo manager and flashed the GAPPS I'd already downloaded.
Nexus boots into unlock screen but then says "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped" and when that is cleared I get "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped" over and over again.
I don't get an opportunity to do anything other that re-boot into recovery.
I've re-flashed GAPPS by itself over the top, as well as PA and have tried, from within TWRP, to flash both one after the other. I always get the same errors.
Any advice please?
[Edit #1]
Used Wug's NRT 1.6.1 to flash back to stock, unlock and rooted again.
Installed Goo Manager again and downloaded GAPPS and PA 2.99 and going to see what happens.
and.....
Exactly the same problem!
[Edit #2]
Solved.
There was a later version of GAPPS that Goo didn't have listed.

[Q] Email error, also 4.3 update reappearing?

Hey everyone, well, school is starting soon and mine uses an organizational email, but when I went to try and add an account on my N4 it gave me the "Could not connect to server" error, I have been reading for ways to fix it and have tried some, from rebooting to moving apk and odex files to the system partition, none of these worked. I've tried setting up a corporate account and that didn't work either.
I am on 4.3 stock rooted, I received the OTA for 4.3 the first day I heard reports of it coming out, I installed it and realized I had to re-root, did so and now Root checker app says it's still rooted, everything works fine, not only does the email error come up, but the 4.3 system update notification is reappearing. I go to install it, it reboots to TWRP and I get an error in the log and it stays in recovery, no "Android is upgrading" prompt on reboot.
Anybody have a clue? I've read other posts about other users email not working after 4.3, anybody else have this 4.3 update reappear?
Any help is appreciated, thanks all.
Screens below:
The update is a new one. Only 1.8 mb but yes it does have the same message as the 4.3 update. No idea about the email problem. Also, ota updates do not work when your device is not 100% stock no modifications at all

[Q] Prevention information

Just received the following notificatin;
" Prevention Information
An application has been forced to stop for unauthorized attempt to access system in your device"
I push the OK -button and find myself in Application manager. No instruction about which application or what to do?
l have ran the AGV virus scan. Clear all the data in the Boat browser. Rebooted my Note 3.
... and the notification message keeps coming back...
any help / comments?
Is your phone rooted as this is a knox warning to tell you that an app that isn't approved to use the system directory is trying to... Look at what you have installed as is(probably) an app you will have installed recently...

Same issue. I have no idea what's causing it. Anyone have any insight on this yet?
My phone is rooted with CF-Auto-Root, I have the same warning.
When I tried the disable "Security Updates" via "Root Uninstaller" the phone will become so slow that it requires a reboot.
I tried using "Freezer" to freeze "Security Updates" and "Knox" but the "prevention information" message still appears.
Research on this topic only shows "ANT+ service" possibly being the application
Same issue here. Started 3 days ago too. I didn't install anything

Not rooted & no new apps installed...
It just started and came from "nowhere"
It appears this problem is cropping up everywhere and isn't necessarily tied to any particular app/service except something with SELinux.

Great, maybe this might force Samsung to get rid of these sh!tty security features....
Wasn't Android and Linux supposed to be an open platform?

[Q] Disable OTA notifications? [Solved]

I sideloaded 4.4 and found enough drawbacks that I restored 4.3. Now, any suggestions on how I can get rid of the OTA notification that finally showed up -- and keep it from coming back?
Update: It's been 3 days now, and no update nags!

AFAIK, there is no way aside from installing a custom ROM that wouldn't even try to receive it. POSSIBLY by rooting and deleting a file in your system area, but I can't remember specifics.
I'm curious; what drawbacks did you find, exactly?

1. No Flash.
2. My bluetooth mouse refused to pair.
3. My preferred browser (Maxthon) FCs when opening a URL
4. No battery percentage
5. Stickmount launches, but won't actually mount anything
Except for the Stickmount problem, none of these, individually, is a show-stopper (no Flash comes close), but in the aggregate, I'm happier with 4.3.
FWIW, 2 & 3 seem to be hardware-specific. The mouse will pair with 4.4 on a 2012 N7 (but the response is so jerky as to make it useless) and Maxthon does run on the N7.

After reading many of the posts re: 4.4, I decided I wasn't going to install the OTA whenever it did come. Well it came yesterday and I wondered the same thing. I posted a similar question in another thread but didn't get any response. So I ended up just removing the zip file from the cache folder to see what would happen. I copied it to my sd card so I'd have it just in case and then just deleted it from cache. I tried a few things to see if it would automatically download the file again, but so far it hasn't. System Update in Settings still says, "Android 4.4 System Update, downloaded & verified - 219.9MB, Restart & Install." But hitting the install button doesn't do anything. It just says "Rebooting" but it doesn't actually reboot, so I hit Cancel Install. Been working with the device all day and haven't received any additional notifications for the OTA.
A whole bunch of suggestions in the Nexus 7 Forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1998378
I went ahead and ran the install, knowing it would fail with TWRP (which it did) and then renamed otacerts.zip (in the system/etc/security directory) to otacerts.bak. Check for updates shows system up to date. Hopefully, it'll stay that way.

Random reboots

I am on Android M right now and sometimes I have some kind of a weird random reboot on my phone... My phone is NOT rooted but the crazy thing is: it is like a soft reboot because after the rebooting process -> apps are still open (atleast in the recently opened apps tab) ... Does somebody have a solution or does somebody have the same problem? Is it a software problem? Thx in regards![emoji16]

The recent thing is just how it works in L up afaik, it just displays apps open even through a powercycle. You mainly need to try and narrow it down and figure out what the realm of the cause may be, then get a logcat, no root needed just setup adb.
