The are the same phone, but the XT907 it's the Verizon, with CDMA+GSM, version, and the XT905 it's the international version.
I remember this happen with the Droid 2, but there were diferences in hardware for the CDMA only and the CDMA+GSM version. Besides, it was also diferent with the international version, GSM only.
But, since it's likly the same device, I was wonder if I could flash the CM10.2 ROM over a XT905 and have RIL and everything working.
Thanks you guys!
Since 10.2 doesn't work on the 907 fully, I doubt it would work on the 905. That being said, you can probably try it as long as you backup beforehand

But the Xt907 is one of the few that are oficially in the CM10.2 three. I know there are just Nightlies, but still. Even if not, the CM10.1 ROMs works with the xt905 version? What about LTE? Or 3G?
Thanks for answer in any case!

You are not missing much 422 roms ALL HAVE something wrong. I tried http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/24078-romofficial-uxylon-86/
Has a freeze bug. As well as the latest cm10.1. Same freeze up.
My daily driver is the Australia Deodex Mod for XT907 in the dev forum. You restore it. Not a flash rom. You can even restore it's system onto your data, well backup first & it may work.

The 4.2 ones *might* work. Data (3g and LTE) are questionable, and you'll probably need to flash the original radio. But they might work.
EDIT: Worth noting that your build.prop would certainly indicate you were running a 907 and there may be other minor bugs, but they'd probably work. Do a backup first though!

I just wanted to know which one to buy. But if LTE wont work, then don't worth it. In my country the only operador have LTE on 1800 Mhz, and the another two will be in the 2500 Mhz.
I will just buy the XT905.
This is unlocked by default for international use right?
The radios are the same. I do not see why there would be any problem flashing 907 roms?

When you say radios are the same, what do you mean? XT905 have CDMA+GSM, but the XT907 only have GSM. Also, I think XT907 have LTE over 1800 Mhz but the XT905 have 700-13 Mhz.
Just asking, as I said, I didn't buy this yet, just want to know which one to buy. I want the XT907 better cause LTE 1800 Mhz is the only band in my country, but if I would lost the LTE on the XT907 it will be the same that have the Verizon version.
Thank!

What I ment was the latest sw for each have identical modems.
I am on the Avsi mod and my radio is the same as the stock 905. I have a 907. If I flash the newest vz sw same radio.
There is a whole list of roms for the XT907! Thanks you so much! .
Now I'm for sure try to get the XT907! Thanks you!
EDIT: I get overexited. For this little time I think I was looking for the XT907 and I was happy. But I'm looking it's for the XT905, this is the one that have LTE 1800 / 2600.
I do not want to misslead you. You can never flash the telstra sw to the 907 - it will brick.
The avsi mod is the closest you will get to the stock rom.
Help! XT905 will XT907 Roms i.e. CyanogenMod work?
Hi can anyone tell me if xt907 roms will work on my xt905 (australian model) running stock android 4.1.2, system version 98.21.7.XT905.Telstra.en.AU.
I have rooted using Motochopper and have the SuperSU v0.94 installed.
I have also unlocked the bootloader using Motopocalypse which I presume worked. Just a bit stuck on the next stage. I would like to install cm-10.1.3-xt907.zip rom.
But first I need a recovery, can anyone advise? I don't know which one to install or where to get the right file. I dont want to brick my phone!
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Tim

Ok. First you need to get fastboot runing on your PC. Install all drivers for your phone. Then, download and install SDK Tools from motorola web-site(honestly, i don't know, if there is any reason to install SDK Tools, but i've done all these steps and everything worked perfect)
Then, download CWM recovery file for your phone from their(CWM) own site.
Get your phone to fastboot mode (hold power button and both volume buttons for few seconds). Connect it to your PC. Run cmd line from folder where the recovery file is placed.
Then type "fastboot flash recovery *.img" and press enter
Type without " "
*.img - name of recovery file, you have downloaded. I've renamed it to recovery.img, so i've been typing "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
After all that, your phone will get a custom recovery.
Sorry for no links, i don't have access to my PC and i can't remember them all, so you'll need to google them.
Hope my advice will help. I mean, i've been doing all the same, to get custom recovery work on my xt905.

Hi,
I just picked up a Defy+ from a wholesaler online. It was supposedly unlocked already but it won't work when I placed my SIM card in it. My card is for Telus Mobility in Canada. Just curious if anyone has had success using the Defy+ on Telus's network. When purchasing the phone I was under the impression that it was just a Defy with bumped OS version and higher CPU clock speed, but essentially the same hardware. Telus previously offered the original Defy so I'm assuming that the Defy+ will work also. Any help/advice/info would be greatly appreciated.
I've also got a similar post on this thread but decided to create my own as well.

Just an incompatible baseband selected. What is the rom version you have on it?
Phone is still stock as it came
Just added a screen shot of the about phone. Haven't flashed any ROMs yet, or even rooted it. I'm waiting to make sure I can use the phone with Telus before I start doing all that to it. In case I need to return it.
I was considering flashing the baseband from this thread to see if it had an effect. Do you have a suggested baseband I should flash, or a suggested thread to follow? I'm no stranger to xda and modding phones, though I'm far from an expert and the Defy+ is completely new to me so I'm still just doing a lot of reading on it before I do anything.
Thanks,
Vic
Still not luck with Telus network
So after trying various Defy root methods I discovered that the old exploits don't work on my phone which has BL7. Found a good thread that handled rooting my device and successfully rooted. Following which I installed a current 2ndinit from this thread and then flashed the latest CM10 nightly. After playing with the baseband switcher and trying everyone I still haven't gotten it to register with Telus. The best I've achieved is finding the network and it failing to register.
Anyone with suggestions on what I should try next?
Still trying to get this device to work with my telus SIM card. Looking for any help to trouble shoot. Would like to start using this device as a second phone. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

OKay I see it says you that it was supposed to be unlocked but i'm thinking maybe you should get another unlock code and try it. That would be the only other reason i could see it not working other than APN not correct or wrong baseband. Try China ME722.1.10.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give unlocking it another shot tonight. I tried a half dozen baseband settings in cm10 that match the telus bands but no dice. Keep getting an ME error when it did see the telus network. I'll post my efforts tonight.

I've come to the conclusion that getting the Defy+ I purchased to work on Telus isn't possible. At least by me. I confirmed that the device was indeed unlocked by trying it with SIMs from both Rogers and Fido, which both worked. I also tried a Bell card and had the same results I had with my Telus SIM, which was being able to see the network but not connect or use talk or text. This was regardless of the baseband I used.
In the end I just returned the phone back to complete stock and gave the device to a friend on Rogers who needed a new phone badly but couldn't afford an upgrade at this time.

Too late now, but for reference you could have tried flashing a new radio. Worked for me, and also the baseband that works may not necessarily be geographically related to your location. In India the Vodafone France baseband works fine
Sent from my MB526 using xda premium
I tried to flash the Telus.zip baseband I found in a thread and it returned an error on each attempt. Flashing any other baseband that matched the frequencies for my network still resulted in a failed network connection. Same results occurred with the Bell SIM I tested with, which is a very similar network to Telus. After checking Telus' compatibility list it clearly stated the Defy+ was not compatible. I still find that strange since as far as I understand it is simply a Red-lens Defy with a larger battery and a more current ROM. I thought for sure if I added the correct frequencies I'd be set. I was mistaken as my repeated attempts have shown.
Interesting. But did you flash an older or newer Radio(not baseband)?
If defy is compatible defy plus has got to be, unless they use some twisted form of imei locking
Sent from my MB526 using xda premium
I tried the baseband from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117553
I also tried using the cm10 baseband switcher.
Didn't realize I could flash a radio as well. When I did see and connect to Telus I'd immediately get an ME error and then loose connection to the network. Where would I find radio files?
Isn't it redundant now, since you don't have the phone? Anyways there's a thread called radio fixes or something

Not having the device anymore doesn't negate my desire to solve my problem. I might get that phone back or I my decide to pick up another unlocked device that gives me similar problems. I no longer want to sign contacts for discounted devices so I'm always on the look out for good deals on unlocked hardware I can play with. Thanks for the replies.

Well since I'm on Telus as well with the red lense defy and I checked gsm arena and a few unlock sites. They all said and indicate that phone can be used on the Telus network. Seeing as its not a phone that Telus originally sold that is why I asked about the apn. Anytime I've ever used an unlocked phone on Telus I've ways had to input the apn.
Other than that sometimes when I flash I don't always get a radio signal for some strange reason. Even changing baseband doesn't solve the problem I usually have to flash another rom and then come back to the one I want or try a different kernel. Either way I'm like you except I never would have gave it away till I solved the problem lol
Sent from my MB526 using xda app-developers app
It was more than just a case of setting the apn. I have no problem doing that. In fact that's exactly what I did with the Rogers SIM so that I could test it's data before I let my friend have it. I tried numerous ROMs with it, none of them would allow me to connect to Telus even after choosing an appropriate baseband. Unfortunately because it wasn't a Telus phone to begin with I didn't have a working Telus radio on it. I tried flashing the Telus baseband, it would return an error. I tried flashing the entire Telus ROM, it went into a boot loop as expected. I got it back to it's stock Retail ROM, after rooting that tried a baseband switcher and still wasn't able to see connect to Telus. Though it would see the network. Best luck I had was with CM10 with the Argentina baseband which would connect to Telus until I either tried to call or text. At which point I would get an ME error message and it wouldn't connect again without a reboot. At that point I suspected that maybe this device was being blocked by some sort of IMEI filtering much as thekguy suggested above and gave up on it for now. When my friend does upgrade and returns the phone I might try again for kicks. It was a neat little phone. I'm even tempted to look for a used one that is from Telus...
Please shed some light in the errors you get while flashing the telus baseband
And if you get a boot loop after sbf flash, then wipe data and cache from stock recovery
Sent from my MB526 using xda premium
I'll clarify my description of boot loop in the instance of after flashing the Telus froyo stock ROM was actually more of a soft brick. The phone became unresponsive almost immediately after turning on, blank screen, no response to button presses, essentially a brick. The only sign of life was if I pulled the battery while connected to usb the LED light would flash white for a brief second. That gave me the idea to start up an sbf flash until it got to the waiting for device message, at which point I'd plug in usb and install battery and the flash would force it into boot loader before it could go "dead"again. As far as a ROM getting stuck at the boot image, yes I know a quick wipe fixes the boot issue. At least it had for me every time I got into an endless boot process. Had to do it after recovering from the failed Telus ROM flash with the stock Retail ROM.
Thanks for the tip though. I know you are being helpful.
As far as the exact wording of the error message, I'll have to look it up when I'm back at the PC I use for modding an such... Most I can remember is it start with "ME blah blah blah" but I have a note saved with the exact line.
Cheers, Vic

If the telus baseband failed to install via cwm due to cwm incompatibility, you can manually try to copy over the baseband files included in the zip according to the directory structure of the zip
Well, this was my last idea:If this doesn't work
Sent from my MB526 using xda premium
Ya, that was the one thing I wish I had tried before giving up on the phone. I'd considered it but wasn't sure if it'd work. When I passed it on it wasn't rooted anymore and I'd invested so much time with getting it back to stock that I had just had enough of it at the moment. Almost regret it. If I get it back any time soon that'll be where I start again.

Hello,
Trying to get my new mb525 setup. Got it last night and everything worked well as far as the radio, able to get 3G with decent connection speed.
After rooting and installing CM10 (quarx) I'm not getting anything on the network, no 2g, no 3g, and just "emergency calls only". Thought it might be the tmobile sim card, but tried others and still no luck. Put in an old AT&T sim card and got a connection, so seems that there is something wrong with the radio itself, at least for the frequencies I need, but for GSM I'd think there wouldnt be any problem since all the radios are quad band GSM, right?
I've tried using standalone Baseband Switcher, as well as the one built into CM with no luck. I also tried the 3G fixes, replacing the files in /system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default with those in freq_F_US_342_107-850-1700-2100-signed.zip.
Baseband is at EPU93_U_00.60.03, and I know it has previously had JRDNEM_U3_3.4.2_177-003_BLUR_SIGN_SIGNED_USAJRDNEMARAB1B8RTGB03A.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNFRYORTGB_P019_A010_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf flashed onto it. Have rebooted, reflashed, wided dalvik/cache/system quite a few times since last night, with no luck.
Is there a solution for this? I would appreciate any insight.
Thank you,
Anybody?
Has anyone ever had similar problems and been able to fix it? After searching a bit I've found threats of others with the problem, but seems no one has ever posted a real solution

Yes, I've tried both the signed kernels here http://defy.wdscript.fr/kernel/, that were linked from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795647.
So following up on this.
I flashed the JORDN_U3_6.36.0_SIGNED_USAJRDNTMOB1B4B5DE1028.0R_JORDANTMO_P022_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf.gz sbf file, Tmobile base, as a start. No signal. Pulled the official OTA update, still no signal. This puts baseband version at epu93_U_00.58.00, and kernel at 2.6.32.9-g8431013.
Rooted with Gingerbreak and installed Baseband switcher, have tried each of the 3 TMobile bands and still no signal.
At this point I've largely given up on getting this to work for me, but now I just want to understand why it doesn't. Is there something that controls the radio that wouldn't be taken care of by flashing and SBF? Is there anything that controls radio frequencies/firmware besides this, and is there any way to determine what frequencies a current radio firmware supports?
Does anyone have a working tmobile nandroid backup that I could compare with this?
Seems unlikely, but is it possible that this is a hardware issue that just happened to occur while I was initially putting on CM10?
I realize this is a wall of questions, so thanks for reading this far
Last update.
Success, I'm a dumbass. I finally realized that the baseband I was selecting wasn't for the network I was trying to connect to, it was for the radio hardware! One of the Chinese firmwares, ME722 1.0 was perfect for me, and seems to support more than just the bands listed in CM. Says 850/1900/2100, but I'm getting nice HSPA speeds on tmobile, which is in the 1700 mhz band, so great stuff.
Hope this helps someone else, and saves them a few hours.

Hello all,
I bought a used Droid Razr M on ebay a couple of months ago...(xt907). Then let it sit around for awhile
I recently rooted and unlocked the bootloader, following the recent forum posts for the kitkat update.
Just today I then successfully booted into twrp recovery, and installed CM11. Then booted into CM11 - yeah! This is progress!
I now have the goal of configuring the phone to work with PagePlus (Verizon 3G network).
I have found a good toutorial at howardformums, but the toutorial is for ICS, not for KitKat. My understanding is that the radio files, configuration, etc, is different and won't work with KitKat
I also notice that CM11 has some configuration options for which radio, network, etc, within settings.
I'm trying to figure out the specifics of the following:
1) Do I need to use CDMA workshop with CM11/KitKat to configure any settings?
2) I'm assuming I'll still need a donor phone to spoof this phone as 3G on network?
3) Can I just use OTA with CM11?
4) Are there any toutorials for CM11 with 3G providers? Or any distros pre-configured for this situation?
I've made it pretty far...just looking for a little help to make it to the next step...looking forward to getting this phone activated!
Thanks for any tips!

Well right now you've got 2 options.
1. I just recently found out that it's possible to activate a sim meid# and get calling/sms working through *228 but you need to get the meid from dfs.
This is for calling and text only data will not work other than wifi
http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?p=15221091
2. Downgrade to jb 4.1.2. Fastboot flash the ics radio
And perform the flash as instructed on Howard forums.

Once everything is working on JB 4.1.2 you can flash twrp recovery and run cm11 builds before 7-1 and kitstalk rom is supporting the jb bootloader as well

What is the best rom to use for Page Plus/selectel compatibility or should you stick with stock Verizon Jelly-bean?
Any of the jellybean bootloader roms have been working great for me. On the kk bootloader roms you can't use the ics radio so the 1st link is the only option and it won't get you data
Thanks for all the info and help, I may go ahead and try using the suggested roms, links, etc...
*However*
There is a topic over at howard forums discussing the possibility that PagePlus may add Verizon 4g plans very soon...there is no official verificaiton or announcement, but supposedly this could happen as soon as August? I'm tempted to just wait it out another few weeks and see if I could just use a "PagePlus 4g" sim with kitkat....
....otherwise I'll use one of the older builds
Thanks!

So, just to clarify, even though the radio files only work for jb, I could downgrade to jb, configure, and then upgrade to CM11 up to 6-30-14? If so, I found this nightly build I could try the following file: cm-11-20140630-UNOFFICIAL-RAZR-HD_M-KITKAT.zip
(not allowed to post link, but found it posted by 'dhacker'
Edit: misunderstood the question. Yes that nightly is still on the jb bootloader and the m8 snapshot is the latest/last cm11 build to support it.
Also the phone can still be programmed on cm11. The important part is the ics radio and it can be used on the jb bootloader no problem but not on the new kk bootloader

Thanks for the tip...I took a break, but this will help as I finally try programming everything in the next week.

Hmmm...I just tried installing the special jb radio file on two different CM11 versions: one was m8, the other m7, and with both, it failed. I'll try another with an m6 version, but I wonder if that jb radio file (X907_Modem_SM_BP_1139.000.32.12P.xml) will only install with the earlier official verizon jb version (4.1.2)?
I'm running it right now on pac 8-11 and have used it on just about every rom available for the razr m you say it's failing to flash? That's likely a bad download. Can you unzip it?

I can unzip it, and I'm using Xubnuntu as my OS. I tried installing it using TeamWin recovery, and using RSD lite...both failed.
Just tried downloading it again (from link on Page Plus toutorial), and installing again with cm-11-20140720-NIGHTLY-moto_msm8960.zip. It fails in TWRP almost instantly.
Should I be using a different build? Is there another file I should flash first? I flash the cm rom, boot it one time, then try to flash the radio file...am I missing a step?
Thanks for the help...
M
Download the whole ics fxz and edit out everything in the xml except NON-HLOS.bin and erase modemst1 and modemst2 and flash that via rsd lite. I'm not sure why your previous attempts to flash aren't working but it's not the rom.
Edit: I made this with nobe1976's flashback zip. It'll flash the jb bootloader jb kernel and a jb bootloader compatible twrp recovery and I switched out the jb radio for the ics one

Well, I was hopeful, but it just got stuck on the bootloader. No full boot.

I'm sorry I should have mentioned that was supposed to be flashed via custom recovery, and you may have to reflash cm11 afterwards

Totally worked! I now have everything up and running. Thanks!
Cool, glad to hear. All credit goes to nobe1976 all i did was swap out the radio for the ics one.
Ok, here we go....
This past November, I rooted my wife's XT907, unlocked the bootloader, unlocked the GSM, and flashed a custom rom to the phone. I bought my wife a new phone today, and the XT907 is now going to be my daily driver.
I have been browsing the forum here trying to gather some information about getting CM11 on this jewel safely. It seems that I have to put the official KK bootloader on it??? Some things have changed since I last tried to do anything on this phone, and I'm not sure I understand what needs to be done. It looks as though the information is scattered everywhere =/
Could anyone list me the steps on getting CM11 flashed to this phone without bricking it? Will I have to unlock the GSM again as well?
Here is what is currently on the phone:
Bootloader - Unlocked
GSM - Unlocked
TWRP 2.6.3.0
Rom - Unofficial SlimKat 4.4.2.beta.2-UNOFFICIAL-20131230-1146
Thanks!
According to the CM 11 thread you can flash a few of them on the jb kernel... But if you want the kk kernel download the official 4.4.2 and rsd 6.1.6 just boot your phone to fastboot menu then on your PC open rsd plug your phone into the PC with in rsd select the 4.4.2 zip and flash it...then flash TWRP 2.7.1 either by fastboot or root it and use rashr to flash it... As far as gsm I don't know I don't keep up on gsm capabilities of our device sorry...

Ok, thanks. I have this phone on Straight Talk, so I'm not comfortable flashing anything from Verizon on it.
You not comfortable flashing something from Verizon on a Verizon phone...especially when your just going to flash cm... Best of luck... Your may have to update eventually ROM support for the jb kernel may stop soon...

Yes, it was a pain in the ass to unlock the GSM on the original Verizon Rom, so I will keep it as it is. So KitKat via Slim Roms will have to do.
Thanks again.
