Hello,
is there a possibility for "slide" the Sensorkeys / Touchscreen to wake up the Device or go into sleep?
So how does it work on the HTC One and Nexus.
Greeting
The s4 has a physical button between 2 virtual ones,so nop you cant have s2w,just use the physical one to wake it
no isn't

Hello, it's my first message also.
If I understand well what you're meaning, you encounter problems for unlocking the phone ?
I think I had almost the same issue, but figured it out quickly, I think: the unlock slider is special for practical or security reasons. As far as I know (I have the HTC Leo for one month only), the unlock slider needs to be pressed a very little longer in order to become active (it becommes white) before you can slide it right or left.
It's not an issue in the end, but I hope we're talking of the same thing.
Thanks for your reply, but ive tried everything and it just doesnt respond..it starts working after a while though :s

When it responds and you can use it normally, you could try a hard reset (Settings>Security> Factory reset)...
Hi! First post so sorry if its been asked before, is there any way to disable that annoying feature that makes the defy and others ignore a touch if held for so long? It makes some games unplayable (jet car stunts anyone?) Because you need to hold a button and you can't cos it ignores you after about 30secs, also is there any way I can boost touch sensitivity? I find the defy a bit shaky on recognising some touches, especially when typing, thanks for any help or infos
p.s I'm on CM7 cherry picks

When you touch and hold an area of the screen after about 30secs the touch will no longer register even though your thumb is still there. Apparantly its to stop the screen staying awake if you get water on it, I want to disable this, sorry hope it makes more sense now D:
Noone has a solution to this? I can't sprint on Nova 3 in multiplayer for long because it stops responding
then u go for the never turn off option in the display menu..screen will stay awake until u press the power button..hope it helps..defy's touch is too gud man..i nevr had any problem..

I really should explain better, thanks but that isn't what I mean, the screen will still be awake, just the touch will become "invalid" somehow if you hold the same spot too long, to demonstrate download multitouch visualiser from the market and hold 2 points, if you hold for long enough the touch disappears
I totally got your point as it happens to me too.. but occassionaly... i think its a hardware fault in the touchscreen.. like you said, it stops getting the point after 30 seconds, actually, the problem is that it starts reading your touch at another point on the screen, so you cant accelerare or sprint in jet car stunts and nova because when you tap the respective buttons, the touchscreen recognizes it as you are tapping somewhere else... i myself didnt found a solution to this problem, i just turn the phone on, wipe the screen and my fingers clean, and turn the phone on, sometimes its gone sometimes not.. and 30sec is too much.. my touch lasts for only 3-4 secs... hope we'll get the solution one day.. did you got your phone repaired? I got my touchscreen replaced few months ago but i think this problem was before too

No its an actual feature according to cyanogenmod forums to prevent "phantom input" caused by water on the screen, I dunno whether the digitizer handles this or its a driver, because if its software controlled theoretically it can be disabled

No just a fixed point or small movements, large movements is fine, its not practical to constantly move or let go during some games, and once it goes it doesn't reset instantly it goes crazy for a while, you try and press again and it "flickers" on and off if that makes sense
I've had that issue in 2.2 (Stock), CM7 and now, in CM9, as well...
A friend of mine made me aware of that (I hadn't and probably wouldn't have noticed).
I understand this happens only in Defies (not in Droids), so it shouldn't be impossible to avoid.

Actually some of the Droid series do, if you look on the webpage for jetcar stunts they've even identified it as something they can't fix with advice on how to avoid it, I think it was the Droid x. I'm desperate for a fix, hopefully this is not something in the stock kernal otherwise we need unlocked bootloader :/

Hi folks,
I have been using my Optimus 7 WP approximately 1.5 Years and Touch stopped responding few months back which is not shocking as I have already understood that this is common. I gave a try changing the Touch/Digitizer in a local shop and found it to be worthless. So the problem exists somewhere else which I am currently not worrying about. Since touch screen is just an input device, I am just curious to know if I can have some other device (Keyboard, Mouse, Joystick etc.) acting as the input.
Thought of just reusing the product before I could recycle it
Thanks & Cheers

I doubt it. My first thought was a bt device but it won't be possible as you cannot interact with your phone to establish the connection. I'm not even sure that there are compatible input bt devices.

Thanks for the reply. If you find something interesting to me, it will be great. :highfive:
Try, power off the phone, press:
camera, vol up, vol down buttons and connect to pc via usb, "DONĀ“T" release any button until the lock screen
i had the same problema and replace the digitizer with no luck. so i tried to do a hard reset to fixit but instead i do this combination and the touch screen start working again.

If your phone is rooted you can try to flash a kernel which supports slide to wake (e.g. Franco, etc) and install the App "Touch Control (Nexus 4)" ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2101488). Then you can wake your device either by double tapping or sliding over the screen. No need for buttons.

Your device is most likely facing the infamous end button/digitizer dilemma. Since you said it happens after waking up the device from standby (using the power button, right?). As far as I know there is no fix other than a replacement. I don't really remember which part required replacement (digitiser or buttons strip), but I'm sure the only permanent fix was a replacement (until the replacement fails, lol).
If it is just the power button, you could use another button to wake up the phone using button remapper or similar app.
Also, use softkeys for back button, since the digitiser cable runs below these two buttons.
New digitizer is way forward & they like $10USD these days
Like mentioned above you may get some use if avoid pressing buttons but if intend on keeping device for a while repair is worth while.
