I've been reading the release date is July 27th, so I'm a tad confused since the Gamestop website says July 25th. I reserved my unit, I just hope it really does come a little earlier but maybe I'm just a little hopeful.
All I can think is GS had a release date from earlier in the month and nVidia must have extended it to the 31st, which is what is being reported as the release date by nVidia.
it could be that that is when nvidia ships the units out. They said they were going to try to get it to people by the 31st, so shipping a few days early would make sense. Often times stores get them even sooner to distribute them, so perhaps GameStop will get it the 25th but hold it until the 31st when it officially launches.
I'll be looking out for that text message for the next few days notifying me that it's going to be in, if the Gamestop site is something to be trusted, I'm so impatient! I hope I get that notification tomorrow or Wednesday that it really will be on Thursday.
EDIT: My reason being, the website earlier this month had 7/31/13 as the release date, but later changed it to 7/25/13
all though possible i highly doubt gamestop will start selling it 6 days before Nvidia themselves ship it.

My personal interactions yielded mixed results. I called three GameStops and they all said they weren't taking preorders. Two said they weren't "Anymore" So I assume they closed the preorders? I know mine is still in effect since I was able to put down more money for it. I'm going to call on Thursday the 25th and see what they say. The GameStop website still says 7/25/13 regardless of what Nvidia said.

I just noticed on their website that the accessories are all dated the 31st but the Shield is the 25th. It doesn't look too good for this week.

Probably not. Still though, it is strange that soon before Nvidia announced the date as the 31st Gamestop switched the date from the 31st to the 25th. I don't expect it this week, but just to be sure I'm going to stop by Thursday still.

Went to Gamestop at lunch and the clerk knew nothing about preorder or delivery dates. He said it wasn't in the system which led him to believe it might actually be in stock tomorrow.....hmmmmm

Ya, but that is GameStop for you. Worst thing about the gaemstop website for me is it gives me stores about 300 miles away by default and won't remember my real location.

Mine says "Boxed Shipment" as well. I called and spoke with customer service earlier today, and they told me that they didn't have any shipping information available, but that my order status was "In Process." I don't know if that is the generic back-ordered product status or an indication that the Shield is actually being made ready for shipping. The CS rep obviously just works for Digital River, the apparent ordering/payment processing company used by Nvidia.

im 2 seconds from canceling my newegg order and pre ordering from nvidia. Nvidia Still says they will ship by the end of the month. ill pay $35 more (tax/shipping) but atleast i know ill be getting it in the next week or so instead of being in the dark...

Haven't been on XDA dev for years, used it all the time back in my HTC years! Feels like coming home!
I'm hoping that either they had sold out and so put back sales for 3rd parties or Newegg etc have sold out of their allotted units and they don't have a date for resupply so have just gone down the 2 months ahead route. The conversation in this thread with the Customer support (support, yeah right...) just makes me think she didn't have a clue. Looked it up on the system and is going off the same info we are.
I just don't see Nvidia allowing 3rd party retailers to give a new release date without them updating their own store first.
Please tell me it's still coming, I'm in Australia and had to pay $20 for the T-shirt to be shipped and put $100 in the shipping account to cover the Shield. I want it! I want it NOW!!!

Just spoke to gamestop where I ordered my shield and they confirmed that they received a message that there is a delay in shipping. I was supposed to receive my unit tomorrow. According to the gamestop system there no known date of when it will actaully ship at this time....GREAT!!!! I had only one more day, now there is no tellin how long it might take to get it.

Where did you see the 3rd was the release day? As far as I've seen the 3rd is only the release day for the Nexus 9.

I believe I read it on android police but I could be mistaken? I thought both the TV and N9 come out at the same time and the N6 comes out later. It was probably me being overly excited and not reading it properly.

You could be right...I did see that this morning on AndPol but I don't recall reading it anywhere from Google. Meh whatever haha, the 3rd would be ideal. I just want mine so I can play with it.

Me too, I've been dying to have one since I/O it's a Nexus year for me wife and I. I already pre ordered the Nexus 9 32gb (white) and Nexus Player with controller. Now I'm waiting on my black Nexus 6 64gb . I just got rid of my Nexus 7 (2013) and I'm selling one of my G3's. I have been waiting a while for the Nexus phablet and now android TV. It's going to be a good year for android.
I wonder if it will support 3-4 controllers for multiplayer? That would be awesome then I could play mario kart SNES or N64 on my TV without pulling out those old consoles.
I Ordered mine on the same day it was released on the 17 Oct and I was able to order the Game Controller also I don't when I will get my stuff.

If goto the play store and click the settings wheel, orders, and then click on the order and it will show the estimated ship date

What you're hearing? You mean the people referring to the previous Nexus launch?
I'm pretty sure everyone who got an order in was given the same shipping date placeholder. As with most pre-orders like this, they are giving out a longer than anticipated ship date just in case. Ask anyone who has pre-ordered any of the other nexus phones from google.... they shipped out well before the initial placeholder date.

No. I was referring to the ship date that was cited for the N9. And my bad on not having a link, but all I'm recalling was post that was probably pure speculation anyway.
Here in Norway at proshop.no they expect it in 03.11. I have ordered mine and they say that it should be shipped from them late the 03.11.
Fun but also strange that we can have it very early. Normally its 2-3 weeks later over here.

I really hope it's true that they send them out before the 21st. I was quick enough to select next day shipping too so hoping to get it ASAP.
I tried speaking directly with Google. I said to my Nexus 5, "hey google when will my nexus 6 ship?". It responded with a list of URLs that don't tell me when my Nexus 6 will ship. Guess I just have to wait.

i bought the nexus 5 through t mobile when it came.....exact same phone, t mobile just added 50 bucks to the price but it was the same as the play store

Ordered on Amazon too, got the white 64GB though. The Amazon page says that the 64gb can be expected on December 19 and the 32 on December 1st of I'm not mistaken.
I do hope they come sooner though. The Amazon.co.uk website says that the nexus 6 is being released on December 15.
I know some people who ordered from the German play store and they got a December 15 shipping date as well.
I'm not sure if they cando that? Because on saturn and media markt i think they say the december 31. of earliest shipping day.

I think we can be happy if we get it still this year.
I expect the 15th of december to be the date for both the N9 LTE and the N6 to be released. Hopefully that applies to the accessories of the N9 aswell as I will take a fourth - and hopefully last - try to get that damned tablet without build quality issues.

google has told ntv directly that the play store will start selling (and stop accepting preorders) on 5., saturn and media markt will start 9. amazon and sparhandy will start on 11.
but they also said that these dates are subject to change.
I talked to Vodafone in my local area. Luke around 20 shops, and about 4 told me the ordered one single phone and it will arrive from mon to wednesday. If i fest my Finger on one device i will post it Here. **** Google, Id welcome paying 700€ If they'd let me

Same here, Media Markt and Saturn told me that they´re not going to get any Nexus devices in this year, so I got a Vodafone contract with the Device.

Man that sucks. I hope Amazon.de is going to start shipping soon. If they won't I might cancel my order and look somewhere else.
I pre ordered from Best Buy to get the 12 months no interest (I would have used Amazon otherwise). Pre ordered the day it dropped on their site. Anyone know if it's still going to be there tomorrow the 29th? The order page originally said 7/29 but now it says 8/2... I also pre-ordered from BestBuy, but opted for the Quartz Grey so mine is still two and a half weeks out.
I'd like to assume the date changed because they sold out of the initial pre-orders, meaning if you ordered early enough you should be fine. Of course, that's an assumption. Their whole shipment could have been delayed because of strong sales.
Edit : I just rechecked my order status and it says the Quartz Gray is now slated for an 8/25 release. Bullcrap. This same delay crap is what turned me away from the HTC 10. If it gets another delay I might as well wait until October for the Nexus.

I pre ordered from Best Buy to get the 12 months no interest (I would have used Amazon otherwise). Pre ordered the day it dropped on their site. Anyone know if it's still going to be there tomorrow the 29th? The order page originally said 7/29 but now it says 8/2... Really hoping to pick it up tomorrow but was wondering if anyone has heard anything regarding it being there tomorrow. Thanks!

I never saw 8/2 but my order went from "Ready to pickup on 7/29" to "We've received your order" yesterday. I called the store and they said they have it and I can pick it up today. I'm headed there for 10 AM ET. Hopefully it really is there.

I'm in the same boat. I noticed yesterday morning that the "release date" on bestbuy.com had changed to August 2, so I called BB customer support about it. They said it looked like my order had gone from pre-order to back order, which i assume means they don't have them yet, or don't have enough of them to fill my order (placed July[oops] 16). I made it clear I was very unhappy and regretting not going with Amazon, and she eventually gave me a $100 credit to make up for it. I hope they will actually deliver it on August 2 like they're currently saying. The website is now showing 8/2 as the release date for all the stores near me.

Oops, sorry, meant July 16.
Btw, I just checked and they've updated my order from "Processing" to "Preparing for shipping". That certainly suggests they have them in hand now, at least. The status change was made in the last couple hours.
Ha, cool. I pre-ordered mine July 16, which I thought was day one.
I was gonna flip if I was a month off.
I wouldnt buy from BestBuy if my life depended on it.. They ban people from returning items! Google BestBuy return ban...

Just came from BestBuy where they told me they aren't expecting the Quartz Gray Axon 7 until early to mid October.
I will cancel my pre-order if that's the case. Way too long gone to wait and at that point the Nexus 2016 will be right around the corner.
I'll keep my pre-order through August and that's it.
