ASDA Pre-order

Hey guys has anyone had any details about ASDA dispatching the xperia z preorders?
I'm pretty sure that when i selected the free delivery option, that it mentioned something about it being a guaranteed delivery date of 28th Feb. Does anyone else remember anything similar?
I ordered on the 14th of Feb.

Mine is sitting on 'Back Order' haven't heard anything from ASDA.

Mine says this on the tracking system:
Awaiting Stock - We're waiting for stock of all these items to become available. As soon as these items leave our warehouse and are their way to you we'll send you an email to let you know.
But even if they get stock tomorrow i doubt they can get it to me the same day

It's wishful thinking, but hopefully they're just crap at keeping the website updated. Mine reads the same as others.
Going to be mighty annoyed if I don't get it tomorrow. I never go to Asda for anything - supermarket or online - they're not doing a great job of turning me around...

That's what i was hoping too, but seems unlikely :/

I've rang them 3 times today and been told something different every time! The one said it was out of stock when I ordered, another one said tomorrow and then the third one said a couple of weeks
I think there's literally 0% of it coming tomorrow

I spoke to them about 6pm and was told "your order isn't showing as back ordered on my screen. You see the phone isn't released untill tomorrow, so it can't be dispatched before then. If it doesn't say dispatched by this time tomorrow, call us back"
This was after I'd already explained the guaranteed 28th Delivery. Not holding my breath for getting it on release day. Even though the accessory pack was a big bonus, I picked Asda because no other site had commited to a delivery date at that point. Seems like another examine of Asda over promising and under delivering.

What was the guarantee? If they fail to deliver on the guaranteed date then what is their penalty?

I saw some sites got their deliveries late and had to dispatch on the 28th, i wonder if maybe this was the same for asda.

Mine still says on backorder. Just went through the process of ordering again to see if there were any delivery options this time and there were options to leave with neighbours etc. This wasn't an option when pre ordered. I am not sure if it means anything though.
I have seen on game forums that asda have form for this sort of thing too. Gonna see if I can find more info.

Where does it say that Sony are offering free headphones?
Update: just got off the phone with asda, while my order still says on back order, they're are saying that they have the phone in stock (as reflected on the site) and awaiting dispatch. Though I'm not certain I completely trust that!

The asda website looks like they've done a hasty removal job of anything to do with the preorder, so much that they still have photos of the preorder accessories, with absolutely no mention of coming with any.
I wouldn't imagine anyone would have felt the need to take proof of them promising delivery today, but it was plastered all over the site. It was even in the hidden T&Cs regarding the accessory pack saying you wouldn't actually get the dock and case today, something along the lines of "on 28th February you will receive the Bluetooth speaker, and a voucher for the case and dock redeemable from Sony stores"
The phone is being advertised as "in stock" for new orders, so I've got my fingers crossed that they are just being really poor at updating people's accounts.

I just remember it being mentioned when in the checkout process, i have searched online and others have mentioned the guaranteed delivery date for game pre-orders form asda direct in the past.

I've decided to cancel my preorder with asda and get them directly from sony with the free headphones (which more then makes up for the extra £29). Though I'll probably sell the headphones.
Though even the order cancellation is a hassle, apparently it has to be passed to a "technical team" and will take 24 to 48 hours for an email to come through stating the order has been cancelled.... I don't think I'll ever use asda again!

Can't believe the way ASDA have handled this pre-order. Even their website shows 'in stock', but my order still says 'back order'!! Im on hold to speak to a manager!

Tried to cancel the order, has to be passed on to another team, which takes 24-48 hours, but the phone may dispatch before they get the cancellation request. Crazy!!
The manager gave me a £40 e-voucher for the inconvenience. Ordered with Sony directly, with free headphones!

Gamestop release date 7/25/13? (US)

I've been reading the release date is July 27th, so I'm a tad confused since the Gamestop website says July 25th. I reserved my unit, I just hope it really does come a little earlier but maybe I'm just a little hopeful.

All I can think is GS had a release date from earlier in the month and nVidia must have extended it to the 31st, which is what is being reported as the release date by nVidia.

it could be that that is when nvidia ships the units out. They said they were going to try to get it to people by the 31st, so shipping a few days early would make sense. Often times stores get them even sooner to distribute them, so perhaps GameStop will get it the 25th but hold it until the 31st when it officially launches.

I'll be looking out for that text message for the next few days notifying me that it's going to be in, if the Gamestop site is something to be trusted, I'm so impatient! I hope I get that notification tomorrow or Wednesday that it really will be on Thursday.
EDIT: My reason being, the website earlier this month had 7/31/13 as the release date, but later changed it to 7/25/13

all though possible i highly doubt gamestop will start selling it 6 days before Nvidia themselves ship it.

My personal interactions yielded mixed results. I called three GameStops and they all said they weren't taking preorders. Two said they weren't "Anymore" So I assume they closed the preorders? I know mine is still in effect since I was able to put down more money for it. I'm going to call on Thursday the 25th and see what they say. The GameStop website still says 7/25/13 regardless of what Nvidia said.

I just noticed on their website that the accessories are all dated the 31st but the Shield is the 25th. It doesn't look too good for this week.

Probably not. Still though, it is strange that soon before Nvidia announced the date as the 31st Gamestop switched the date from the 31st to the 25th. I don't expect it this week, but just to be sure I'm going to stop by Thursday still.

Went to Gamestop at lunch and the clerk knew nothing about preorder or delivery dates. He said it wasn't in the system which led him to believe it might actually be in stock tomorrow.....hmmmmm

Ya, but that is GameStop for you. Worst thing about the gaemstop website for me is it gives me stores about 300 miles away by default and won't remember my real location.

Yeah not the greatest website, but I like GameStop. I don't mind waiting.

Not so Good News for Us

Per my chat this morning:
GeraldC: I have checked on the order details and I can see that yes, your current order is being back ordered. Due to the high demand of the device our inventory isn't able to suffice all order from activations and upgrades. The estimated delivery date is 6 weeks from the date the order was made.
You: wow, will it be better to get it from the store?
GeraldC: That depends on the available inventory on our store, you can head to the nearest store on your location to check if there's available one.
You: when are the stores supposed to get them?
GeraldC: Usually if a store runs out of stock, the estimated delivery date is 6 weeks as well since the device is ordered and coming straight from the manufacturer.
You: Do you know when the stores will begin to receive them?
GeraldC: As of now the information is not made available for us, it would be best if you head to the nearest store so that they can give you specific date based on the day when they have made an order for their inventory.

My pre-order date was the 25th at like 7am.

I couldn't get the system to work the first couple days...didn't pre-order till the 27th... order says processing

Hope your right. I went to my local t mobile store on Saturday and the rep told me that my note 4 should be delivered on the 16th or 17th. He said he was pretty confident of that. Sidenote.. on my order status page under order history it does say backorder where it use to say pending shipping.....hopefully that's because it is not available yet.

I order mine by 9:06 am that day.
I doubt not many people would want a phone this big + its not an apple.

Mine doesn't say backordered, but it really doesn't matter. Their whole system is messed up.

I preordered mine Sept. 27th. Then on Oct. 3rd my status went to being processed and on back order. That's when I did an online chat and I posted the results in the OP. This is for the Note 4.

Stores get them sometimes a full week before release dates. Sometimes they even do a "soft release" when they have it in stock but not on display. You have to know they have it in stock and request it though and there is no way to know that unless a rep tells you or you are in there asking every day.
I got my vibrant (sgs1) this way.... was in store looking to upgrade from my G1 to a g2... saw someone looking at a vibrant right next to me playing Avatar on it n I was like.. "ummmmmm, what phone is that?" Told it was a vibrant, not officially on sale till the next week but I could get it now if I requested it by name cause they had them in stock and were doing a "soft release".

nice thats next friday. hopefully they dont sell out.

same thing happened last year which is why I just go to the store...usually a small line, but you will get one (this is not the iphone)
their online system is whack

Yea, I don't think I'm going to pre-order again in the future, this whole process does seem messy.
For my situation, I have a 4 Year Anniversary so I decided I'd get us a pair of Note 4s. I called the rep and one I was just going to order on my account and the other I was just paying outright for it. Well the rep couldn't process them both at the same time because it triggered some fraud warning. (Oh I was also ordering one of the WiFi calling routers). So after a bit of a hold she came back and said she would have to separate each item and buy them on separate days.
So that day I got the Black one ordered, the next day she called back and got the white one ordered, and finally the 3rd day she called back to order to the WiFi calling router. At that point everything looked great, all orders pending, I was a happy camper (though still wasn't liking the fact that it appears I would get it a couple days after release due to shipping, which after reading the posts here seems like that might be debatable and they might actually arrive early).
Well fast forward a couple days, I was checking the orders cause I'm crazy and impulsive like that and just noticed an update. On my Black N4 and Router they both say 'Pending' still. My White N4 however is now saying backorder! Having a bit of a freakout cause its an anniversary present and timing is critical. And to make matters worse, everyone I seem to talk to says something a bit different and so I've come to the conclusion that nobody really knows. Some say 'Oh our system just says that, but there will be plenty available' or 'I'm sure it will still be sent on time because we haven't had that many orders come in' to 'Oh, yes there has been a very high demand, maybe you can give the one that does make it and yours will just have to wait' or 'The system had a minor glitch and has now been corrected, because of this we now have an update on our stock and thus many orders have been changed accordingly'.
Sooooo yea. Here is keeping my fingers crossed, but just wanted to share that on my account I have two order and one says Pending and the other says Backorder.
Edit: Just to let you know this order process was on 9/24 (black one), 9/25 (white one), 9/26 (router).

Historically, when do samsung preorders ship?

I ordered a s7 edge through verizon but I have an issue with the delivery date. They are saying they should hit the stores March 11, but I will be in Texas for my Sister in laws wedding from March 9th until the 12th. So the issue is should I keep my delivery for my home in Colorado or have it sent to Texas.
Do the preorders usually go out early? I would think it would only be fair if people who pre-ordered to get it before people can get it at the stores.

Well for T-Mobile USA they sent the S6 a week early for some users. Verizon tends to be on the dot maybe a day early in most cases.

Anyone know how BestBuy handles pre-orders for online shipping?
IIRC, I pre-ordered the s6 edge last year from Verizon (online) and it came 1 day before the release date.

Follow my preorder thread in the discussion threads, I'll update it as soon as any news about early devices being shipped pops. Verified news, not he/she says.
Last year tmo sent devices a week early so I'd imagine the same again regardless.

Since it is going to other countries and carriers first I should hope there will be some left if I get mine a day late or something. One of the main reasons I ordered it was for the VR gear and I would be super ticked if they ran out!

I am a little bothered by this article saying there will only be 300,000 VR units given in the US. I wonder how many pre orders there will be. I think you receive a VR gear based off of what number you are in the pre order list, not whenever you happened to get your phone. If you get yours late, you might miss your shot. But the way they are advertising it makes it seem like nearly everyone will get one. I hope that is the case.

I'm sure there will be a lot of cancellations if this is the case.

My AT&T preorder says shipping on the 7th to arrive on the 8th. Many sites are reporting preorders will be out 3 days early from the official launch on the 11th.

I just talked to 2 verizon reps and the first one said the phone should arrive on the 11th, and the other checked with her manager and said it would ship out on the eleventh and not arrive until the 14th. To me it makes no sense that the people who preordered will get there phone 2 days after the phone comes out in the store.
I am not throwing any fits because it is unfair, but this is a issue for me because I don't know where to have the phone shipped. And like my earlier post said, it seems that they are only giving out around 300,000 VR Gears, so if I am a couple days late getting it, I may lose my chance at getting the VR gear. ?

That's incorrect. You can input your invoice that you purchased a device starting March 3rd on Samsungs website, I forgot where I found this information but if I remember I'll link it

Please do let me know! I keep hearing that you need your phone to do it. My receipt from Verizon does not have any info about the phone other than what it is, and the pre order number.

This makes it seem like you will need your phone. I sure hope there are plenty of VR units to go out to all the preorders. If not, there may be a lot of angry people.

I pre-ordered from Best Buy so they will ship the VR with the phone. Also getting a free 64gb SD card.

My S6 edge was delivered on March 30th (T-Mobile), and (I think) the release date was somewhere around April 10th. So, don't be too surprised if you get a shipped confirmation email in the next week or so.

Also plan on getting mine through BestBuy. Seems like less of a hassle than waiting "4-6" weeks for the GearVR to come in.

That does sound nice, but I didn't really want to fork out 300 and be stuck in a contract. I might contact samsung and verizon and try to get some assurance that there will be enough to go around. Otherwise, I might cancel and hold out to see what the V10 sequel has in store.

That link actually proves that you need the IMEI and WiFi address.
First, they mention in the text on that page that you need to fill out the form and submit a receipt. That doesn't say what info is required for the form so it does not suffice as a counter-example, nor any evidence that the receipt is the only information you need.
Secondly, that page provides a link to the actual terms and clicking through you can see that the section on submitting the claim explicitly lists the IMEI number (3.b.iii) and the WiFi MAC address (3.b.iv) in addition to the receipt.
So, IMEI and WiFI MAC are certainly required to claim the Gear VR...

Bestbuy releasing early?

Left my local bestbuy last night and a couple blueshirts there told me that they would be releasing the S7 and S7 Edge this Monday. I was pre-ordering and asked when it came out and they told me I could pick it up on monday.
So if you preordered from bestbuy i'd recommend calling them and seeing if they are also releasing it early.

I don't know how truthful BestBuy is. I got my pre-ordered T-Mobile S7 on the 3rd of March and was told by my local BestBuy store that they had the Otterbox cases in stock for the S7. So I drive over to the store and find out that they have the cases in stock but won't be releasing them until the 11th of March because that's when the phones will be released. I will NOT be going back to BestBuy again!

I bought a surround sound system from them a month ago. He told me i was gonna get a discount and hed hook me up with an hdmi and optical cable. Then he was tryin to talk me into joinin their "rewards program" it was like every $100 you get a dollar or something. I was like, "it'd take me so long, im good" but i bought a tv a couple months before so he said i could get credit for that aswell. So finally i said, "well, your not gonna send me a bunch of emails if i sign up are you". He said, " haha noooooo"!
Long story kinda shortened.
I paid full price for the SS system.
I got a wopping $5 off a used hdmi cable. Which was $20
Paid full price for optical audio cable $25
Then at the end i said oh can we add my tv to the rewards program. (Of course the salesman left so i was left with some kid to check me out)
He said, "oh man we'd have to call customer service and i dont think theyd do it anyway"

The following weeks im flooded with best buy emails, i unsubscribe at least 10 times with no stop to it. Finally have to call a 800 number and scream at them to make it stop.

Oh i ended up takin it back anyway so i got my money back. Hah

big thread on reddit about this: multiple best buy mobile employees confirmed it, and users who went there confirmed it. people got calls to pickup on monday too.
pisses me off bc i chose shipping instead of in store (for the first time ever with best buy) bc i was worried they'd run out of stock before my preorder was fulfilled, so i wouldn't be able to walk in friday and get it. did shipping, thinking they'll def have enough in a warehouse.
yeah, and now they release early lol. so mad.

Pre ordered from Best buy about 2 hours after they started taking pre orders and I haven't received notification yet.

You should. I heard about this from https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS7/comments/490phl/best_buy_preorders_go_out_monday/, and went to my local best buy to be sure. They had no idea what I was talking about, and reaffirmed the 11th as the release date. This was yesterday, today my GF got a call that our phones have arrived and that we can pick them up tomorrow.

My preorder confirmation said they would Email me when the items were ready. By chance, did they mention if the Gear VR was ready for pickup also?

Sorry, She didn't think to ask about the Gear VR. I'll call to ask. Our preorder confirmation states the same about notification of pickup.

Same thing happened to me. They had a Samsung rep there and I even showed him the phone, still wouldn't sell it. I went to U.S. Cellular, AT&T and even the new T-Mobile store in my town but neither had cases yet. Verizon store had the stuff out on display already so i bought my case and screen protector there.
I wondered who the *#&@ cares if I buy a piece of plastic for a phone that isn't "out yet"? I am giving you money, why do you care?! It was dumb as f.

Just got off the phone with my local BestBuy, they said that it should be no problem. She mentioned it would be FCFS based on available stock, dunno if this means you can get one shipped later, or if you are sol.

Well...that's kind of strange. The Best Buy website now shows the expected release date for the phone on my order as: "Null"?
The other 2 items still show expected release of 3-11-2016.
Edit: They just now changed the expected release date to 3-7-2016.

Guess they are finally shipping sooner than release date!

Well ****... For some reason my pre-orders aren't showing up on bb's site. What carrier are you guys on? I'm on ATT. I'll definitely have to stop by after work.

Yeah. I ordered two actually, got two seperate emails. I tried looking them up, but it says the name and phone number are wrong, didnt say anything about order number being wrong.
Edit: nevermind, it was under my old name. My att acct is kinda wonky haha.
