Hey guys has anyone had any details about ASDA dispatching the xperia z preorders?
I'm pretty sure that when i selected the free delivery option, that it mentioned something about it being a guaranteed delivery date of 28th Feb. Does anyone else remember anything similar?
I ordered on the 14th of Feb.
Mine is sitting on 'Back Order' haven't heard anything from ASDA.
Mine says this on the tracking system:
Awaiting Stock - We're waiting for stock of all these items to become available. As soon as these items leave our warehouse and are their way to you we'll send you an email to let you know.
But even if they get stock tomorrow i doubt they can get it to me the same day
It's wishful thinking, but hopefully they're just crap at keeping the website updated. Mine reads the same as others.
Going to be mighty annoyed if I don't get it tomorrow. I never go to Asda for anything - supermarket or online - they're not doing a great job of turning me around...

I've rang them 3 times today and been told something different every time! The one said it was out of stock when I ordered, another one said tomorrow and then the third one said a couple of weeks
I think there's literally 0% of it coming tomorrow

I spoke to them about 6pm and was told "your order isn't showing as back ordered on my screen. You see the phone isn't released untill tomorrow, so it can't be dispatched before then. If it doesn't say dispatched by this time tomorrow, call us back"
This was after I'd already explained the guaranteed 28th Delivery. Not holding my breath for getting it on release day. Even though the accessory pack was a big bonus, I picked Asda because no other site had commited to a delivery date at that point. Seems like another examine of Asda over promising and under delivering.

What was the guarantee? If they fail to deliver on the guaranteed date then what is their penalty?

I saw some sites got their deliveries late and had to dispatch on the 28th, i wonder if maybe this was the same for asda.
Mine still says on backorder. Just went through the process of ordering again to see if there were any delivery options this time and there were options to leave with neighbours etc. This wasn't an option when pre ordered. I am not sure if it means anything though.
I have seen on game forums that asda have form for this sort of thing too. Gonna see if I can find more info.

Where does it say that Sony are offering free headphones?
Update: just got off the phone with asda, while my order still says on back order, they're are saying that they have the phone in stock (as reflected on the site) and awaiting dispatch. Though I'm not certain I completely trust that!
The asda website looks like they've done a hasty removal job of anything to do with the preorder, so much that they still have photos of the preorder accessories, with absolutely no mention of coming with any.
I wouldn't imagine anyone would have felt the need to take proof of them promising delivery today, but it was plastered all over the site. It was even in the hidden T&Cs regarding the accessory pack saying you wouldn't actually get the dock and case today, something along the lines of "on 28th February you will receive the Bluetooth speaker, and a voucher for the case and dock redeemable from Sony stores"
The phone is being advertised as "in stock" for new orders, so I've got my fingers crossed that they are just being really poor at updating people's accounts.

I just remember it being mentioned when in the checkout process, i have searched online and others have mentioned the guaranteed delivery date for game pre-orders form asda direct in the past.

I've decided to cancel my preorder with asda and get them directly from sony with the free headphones (which more then makes up for the extra £29). Though I'll probably sell the headphones.
Though even the order cancellation is a hassle, apparently it has to be passed to a "technical team" and will take 24 to 48 hours for an email to come through stating the order has been cancelled.... I don't think I'll ever use asda again!
Can't believe the way ASDA have handled this pre-order. Even their website shows 'in stock', but my order still says 'back order'!! Im on hold to speak to a manager!

Tried to cancel the order, has to be passed on to another team, which takes 24-48 hours, but the phone may dispatch before they get the cancellation request. Crazy!!
The manager gave me a £40 e-voucher for the inconvenience. Ordered with Sony directly, with free headphones!

I got mine from cleverkit.com next day delivery for £5
If you'd prefer a bricks-and-mortar store and you're in London then you could try Inkino.
I'm guessing both these options are sim free .... ?

Exactly the same situation here. Placed order on Sunday, they failed to call me back on the Monday when 1000 units came into them, so I never got one of those, so i was advised to place my order online as more expected Friday and I did, now got an email saying early December. Called Voda who were very apologetic and if I can wait till the 12th then they will compensate me as I should have had my phone by now.

This phone has been a lot more popular than Vodafone thought it would be.
Apparently people stayed away from the HTC Magic when it came out because they hadn't heard of HTC.
Don't think we can blame them for everything. I hope you get one soon mate! Vodafone are usually pretty good with fixing problems. Especially when they create them!
Same problem with voda here, on top of that I enquired as what would happen with my number transfer (my pac expires 12 December) in case they can't deliver a phone by then, they told me they had no record of my pac/number to be transfered... ooops must have fallen into a black hole then lol.
Not bothered about waiting but very annoyed about not being informed about delays before ordering and the fact that they did the credit check straight away...
Sent a lovely email to the UK CEO (yes, I can be polite and explain things clearly when I want to lol). I've just got a reply from him (about 1 hour after I sent it) apologising for letting me down and saying he'll get someone from his office to call me to "see how we straighten this out"

Will do though I can't really see how they'd get me a phone if they can't get stock from HTC before December. Still, I'm hoping that at the very least my account will get a note along the lines of "do not mess up, the stupid cow will complain to the ceo" .

I Phoned tmobile yesterday and was told the hd2 is in stock but only on a 18 month contract. Vodafone tell me they have sold all there stock over the weekend and will not be getting more until the 27th of nov. Vodafone are not listing 12 month contracts but if you phone them and ask they will offer one. I Just cant wait until the 27th.

Me and many others with outstanding orders got this email from Vodafone:
"We have received unprecedented demand for the HTC HD2, and due to shortages from the manufacturer – we are experiencing slight delays in receiving your handset. We are doing everything we can to obtain further stock and will be the first to receive the next deliveries. Currently we expect these to arrive early in December."
That's a funny definition of slight delays Not sure where the 27th November date they've given you is coming from.

I couldn't get them to offer anything shorter than 18 months, so if 12 months is what you're after you may just want to order before they change their mind again
12 month contracts are very rare in premium mobiles these days. Given the lowest possible monthly amount is around £35 and premium phones are around £500 or so, the companies only get £420 out of you.
However, on an 18 month contract at minimum of £35 they get around £630 from you. At least this pays for phone.
As for stock, I would have hoped they could have had more in before the start of December. Must be because the phone has probably been more popular than HTC imagined it would be.

Ordered mine last week - due to be delivered to me the end of next week (29th). The bundle is a nice touch and £499 all in very good. They only have silver, which suits me fine. And it's SIM free...

Got a text from them this morning that said by the 29th. ( I ordered it quite a while ago). As that is Good Friday I suspect the day before... anyway at least it's coming!
EDIT: Just noticed the page now has a "7 days to go" banner on it...

I called yesterday to ask and they asked the manager and he said no deliveries on good Friday so earliest will be 30th.
Yeah banner said 8 days to go yesterday which counts down to Good Friday.
Dont matter when you placed order, unless they dispatch it on 27th you wont get it before 30th.

Hi! What made you say that those who ordered from those stores won't be getting UK handsets?
I think it's quite weird since those are based on UK. I don't think HTC would be stocking US or Asian handsets on those stores right? Else that would just mess up their distribution structure.

Ás much as I want that good luck it's highly impossible. As you can see I am not from UK so having a non-UK phone on handtec would greatly benefit me as that would likely give me chances of having a compatible Asian LTE. But I already asked them about that before I made a purchase and as they said they'll be providing EU models only. They even posted on the description the LTE bands it will be supporting. So.... hopefully your words would create a miracle. lol
I sent them a email saying they are false advertising that we will get it delivered on good friday. Thats impossible so they are in fact lying to customers.
Will ask for good will reward or I will go instore to purchase one at Phones4U.

I see the 3 - 5 day delivery message now too, hopefully a promising sign that they're going to be sending them out on time .

You might be right. I think most orders, if not all, will be delivered on the 2nd of April or after that, but I hope to be proven wrong.

Mine says "Boxed Shipment" as well. I called and spoke with customer service earlier today, and they told me that they didn't have any shipping information available, but that my order status was "In Process." I don't know if that is the generic back-ordered product status or an indication that the Shield is actually being made ready for shipping. The CS rep obviously just works for Digital River, the apparent ordering/payment processing company used by Nvidia.

preordered mine from my local gamestop , they got an email today saying they will no longer be receiving the shield on the 27th and they do not yet have a new date. Who hell knows whats going on im pissed to say the least . Nvidia only has like 3 partners in the USA that there selling through at launch (gamestop,newegg, & micro center) and they couldnt even get this right?

my newegg pre-order is still just pending so far however i don't expect them to ship them untill tomorrow night at the soonest. prolly not till thurs. which is why i bought 1 day shipping.

im 2 seconds from canceling my newegg order and pre ordering from nvidia. Nvidia Still says they will ship by the end of the month. ill pay $35 more (tax/shipping) but atleast i know ill be getting it in the next week or so instead of being in the dark...

Edit: oh i see.. nvm.. hmmmm well i might cancel if it doesn't ship tomorrow/thurs/fri, but i can't afford it on nvidia's website cuz i was gonna buy it with newegg account lol.

Haven't been on XDA dev for years, used it all the time back in my HTC years! Feels like coming home!
I'm hoping that either they had sold out and so put back sales for 3rd parties or Newegg etc have sold out of their allotted units and they don't have a date for resupply so have just gone down the 2 months ahead route. The conversation in this thread with the Customer support (support, yeah right...) just makes me think she didn't have a clue. Looked it up on the system and is going off the same info we are.
I just don't see Nvidia allowing 3rd party retailers to give a new release date without them updating their own store first.
Please tell me it's still coming, I'm in Australia and had to pay $20 for the T-shirt to be shipped and put $100 in the shipping account to cover the Shield. I want it! I want it NOW!!!

well it still says 6/30 on the gamestop site.. im gonna go up there to the store i preordered at tomorrow and see what the deal is.. if they say its delayed then i guess im getting my money back

Just spoke to gamestop where I ordered my shield and they confirmed that they received a message that there is a delay in shipping. I was supposed to receive my unit tomorrow. According to the gamestop system there no known date of when it will actaully ship at this time....GREAT!!!! I had only one more day, now there is no tellin how long it might take to get it.
This doesn't happen very often, but i just spoke to a phones4u employee who actually seemed to know what he was talking about, and he replied to one of my questions with "im sorry but i dont know" which implies to me that he aint making stuff up lol. Anyway as i believe he knew what he was on about heres what he said (still take with pinch of salt tho)
"we recieved limited stock on the 11th which we thought were for delivery on the 14th but sony delayed them and we are not allowed to deliver them until the 17th, we are getting more stock on the 17th which will be delivered on the 22nd"
He then went on to tell me that my order was due to be delivered on the 22nd, when i asked if he how much stock they recieved on the 11th he replied

Just wondering if anyone else's order info has changed??? Mine has finally changed from "awaiting stock" to "preparing for dispatch", still doesnt mean ill be lucky enough to get it tomorrow but heres hoping.... Anybody still showing as awaiting stock?

I hope yours changes during the night.......... on the other hand as yours hasnt changed im a little more hopefull about getting mine before the bank holiday weekend. I'll feel bad if i do tho..... you ordered a week before me

Yeah that sucks, still on awaiting stock, i suppose i did get loads of cashback on mine though, so an extra few days isnt the end of the world, just sucks so much -.- considering the website states delivery of tomorrow =/

i just checked there site, still dont actually say dispatched yet but my hopes are building as there general next day delivery terms say if ordered by 6pm, and mine changed at 5.09pm..... yeah i seen a post by you regarding cashback..... you're up t 200 aint ya? i only getting 75

Mine is on its way! checked my emails this morning and had an email from DPD to say its been dispatched and due for delivery today!
Phones4U page must have just messed up and not updated.
Roll on 5pm til i finish work!

tracking on the dpd page says its currently at my closest depot and is due for delivery between now and 8pm

not sure about voucher, i think i read it should be with you within a few days.... but can take up to 28.

shotgun, i envy you so much right now, i phoned dpd yesterday when tracking showed my phone had started its journey to me, but the guy i spoke to reckoned i couldnt collect it from the depot this morning as it wont arrive there until tomorrow, so far according to tracking it left leceister 6pm yesterday, birmingham hub 2 about 8pm, birmingham hub 3 at 9ish n thats it, arrrrrgh........
Per my chat this morning:
GeraldC: I have checked on the order details and I can see that yes, your current order is being back ordered. Due to the high demand of the device our inventory isn't able to suffice all order from activations and upgrades. The estimated delivery date is 6 weeks from the date the order was made.
You: wow, will it be better to get it from the store?
GeraldC: That depends on the available inventory on our store, you can head to the nearest store on your location to check if there's available one.
You: when are the stores supposed to get them?
GeraldC: Usually if a store runs out of stock, the estimated delivery date is 6 weeks as well since the device is ordered and coming straight from the manufacturer.
You: Do you know when the stores will begin to receive them?
GeraldC: As of now the information is not made available for us, it would be best if you head to the nearest store so that they can give you specific date based on the day when they have made an order for their inventory.

My pre-order date was the 25th at like 7am.
I couldn't get the system to work the first couple days...didn't pre-order till the 27th... order says processing

Hope your right. I went to my local t mobile store on Saturday and the rep told me that my note 4 should be delivered on the 16th or 17th. He said he was pretty confident of that. Sidenote.. on my order status page under order history it does say backorder where it use to say pending shipping.....hopefully that's because it is not available yet.
I order mine by 9:06 am that day.
I doubt not many people would want a phone this big + its not an apple.

Mine doesn't say backordered, but it really doesn't matter. Their whole system is messed up.
I preordered mine Sept. 27th. Then on Oct. 3rd my status went to being processed and on back order. That's when I did an online chat and I posted the results in the OP. This is for the Note 4.

Stores get them sometimes a full week before release dates. Sometimes they even do a "soft release" when they have it in stock but not on display. You have to know they have it in stock and request it though and there is no way to know that unless a rep tells you or you are in there asking every day.
I got my vibrant (sgs1) this way.... was in store looking to upgrade from my G1 to a g2... saw someone looking at a vibrant right next to me playing Avatar on it n I was like.. "ummmmmm, what phone is that?" Told it was a vibrant, not officially on sale till the next week but I could get it now if I requested it by name cause they had them in stock and were doing a "soft release".
nice thats next friday. hopefully they dont sell out.
same thing happened last year which is why I just go to the store...usually a small line, but you will get one (this is not the iphone)
their online system is whack

Yea, I don't think I'm going to pre-order again in the future, this whole process does seem messy.
For my situation, I have a 4 Year Anniversary so I decided I'd get us a pair of Note 4s. I called the rep and one I was just going to order on my account and the other I was just paying outright for it. Well the rep couldn't process them both at the same time because it triggered some fraud warning. (Oh I was also ordering one of the WiFi calling routers). So after a bit of a hold she came back and said she would have to separate each item and buy them on separate days.
So that day I got the Black one ordered, the next day she called back and got the white one ordered, and finally the 3rd day she called back to order to the WiFi calling router. At that point everything looked great, all orders pending, I was a happy camper (though still wasn't liking the fact that it appears I would get it a couple days after release due to shipping, which after reading the posts here seems like that might be debatable and they might actually arrive early).
Well fast forward a couple days, I was checking the orders cause I'm crazy and impulsive like that and just noticed an update. On my Black N4 and Router they both say 'Pending' still. My White N4 however is now saying backorder! Having a bit of a freakout cause its an anniversary present and timing is critical. And to make matters worse, everyone I seem to talk to says something a bit different and so I've come to the conclusion that nobody really knows. Some say 'Oh our system just says that, but there will be plenty available' or 'I'm sure it will still be sent on time because we haven't had that many orders come in' to 'Oh, yes there has been a very high demand, maybe you can give the one that does make it and yours will just have to wait' or 'The system had a minor glitch and has now been corrected, because of this we now have an update on our stock and thus many orders have been changed accordingly'.
Sooooo yea. Here is keeping my fingers crossed, but just wanted to share that on my account I have two order and one says Pending and the other says Backorder.
Edit: Just to let you know this order process was on 9/24 (black one), 9/25 (white one), 9/26 (router).
