Hey Guys,
This just randomly started after the MF9 update i think....my ringtones are super quiet, even if i turn it up 50%, up to 80%. More than that is where it becomes decent and I can hear my phone ring. Anyone else experiencing this weirdness??
I haven't from running mf9 for 4 days. You could try to.flash a ROM that has sound mods on it.

^^ This.
Or, you could try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301190
Not sure if it works on latest TW/custom kernel though.

Ever since I moved to EC07 a couple months ago, my phone volume seems quieter? Maybe I'm just imagining things, but I never used to have to strain to hear things on speakerphone, and I do all the time now, both on me and my wife's EC07 phones. Has anybody else experienced this?
And, either way, are there simple hacks to increase the volume range on the phone?
Thanks all.
That's funny, I flashed the muinia beta 4 rom and my phone is actually louder. I had to play with the volume settings to adjust. Hope this helps out. Make sure the incoming volume is turned up.

Nevermind...
Ok, here is the deal: When i first start using Nexus 4 (brand new, stock rom, not rooted) i just thought the volume is very low. But then i observed that sometimes the sound of incoming message is exactly as i set (loud). But on next message, (nothing touched in settings) - sound is unhearable.. It applies mostly to sms messages, incoming calls (rare). Im using Light Flow for managing my LED, but sound control is not set there. I tried to set it there for fixed value but the problem remains. Even if its set to max, incoming message is unhearable. Like i said its not low all the time, randomly, the volume is ok but then it drops and i cant hear anything again.. Anyone experienced that kind of issue?
Regards
Yes. I've had my Nexus 4 for 3 weeks now and I came across your thread just to see if anyone can get the 4.2.2 stock rom volume issue fixed. I've read from many sources that 4.2.1 stock was solid but when 4.2.2 came into play was when the low volume issue began. I'm backing up my phone as we speak using the Nexus 4 toolkit and getting ready to downgrade to 4.2.1. I'll report back with my results.

Thank you very much, waiting for your feedback then.
My S4 is behaving weird today.
There's NO notification sound for my SMS, Whatsapp, Email and even phone ring tone. I tried calling out but couldn't hear the other party. I plug in the ear phone and also hear nothing...... Tried the Music Player and no sound to the speaker too.
I've rebooted the phone and everything goes back to normal.... for 2-3 minutes only. Then it's all NO sound again.
I suspect that it could be a software problem rather than hardware (since there's sound after I reboot but only for 2-3 minutes).
Anyone experience problem like this before and how do you solve it ?
What rom and which s4 you are using?

I'm noticing that whenever I get a call, the volume is very erratic, but oddly there seems to be a pattern. It starts out normal, then jumps high, then back to normal, then finally gets very loud.
It's not the ringtone itself, and I don't have the increase volume in pocket feature turned on, so it couldn't be that.
Anyone have any idea what could be causing this??
TIA!
have you check the adaptive sound under setting~sound?
suspect maybe the adaptive sound is processing at that moment.

Curious if anyone else is running into this... I am rooted and unlocked, running stock 183.46.10.XT907. I am on the 4.4 kernel as I rooted and unlocked from there and have not gone back to 4.1.2.
The volume is set at max using the volume key.
I've experienced the low call volume on Slim, CM11, and fastbooted back to stock to try to correct the problem.
Started in safemode, does not appear to be related to a 3rd party app.
Anyone experienced/overcome this or suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Yes I to have noticed this with not only the in call (both speaker phone and non)but also YouTube haven't looked into a resolution not on the phone that much ... I've had issues with it pressing buttons to have you or anyone else...it's not an issue with the proximity sensor as the display is off...

I haven't had issues with the hardware buttons, but appreciate hearing I'm not the only one. The speaker phone and speaker have normal volume for music, it is just in call that it seems muted.

Tried everything but going back to 4.1.2. Took to cleaning the area, even though not visibly clogged or dirty, with canned air/paintbrush/vacuum and it made it livable. It's better but not what it was.
Anyways- I would go to cleaning it first if you run into the same problem, you should get a little of the function back.
