i dont think so because; 1- the shape of the cam maybe different in size 2- i think any company will make every piece of your device to be compatible with the other pieces ...

It would be awsome to have that camera in our nexus 4, I think stock android camera isn't good enough

After I see is identical to the Nexus 4. I asked to tell me what size business has, tomorrow I will have details.

If it is compatible, I don't think it's even worth the hassle to swap them. :\

Not a point in this. Even if you got them to fit then the software wouldn't be able to decode the sensor. Unless you swapped the drivers out.

Camera FV-5 is a very good camera. Its on the play store they have a trial, the camera cost 2 dollars I think. It has worked very well for me tons of features quality is excellent.

Is Nexus 4 good?

Considering its not from Samsung, and LG isn't the best brand. Is it worth an upgrade from galaxy nexus to nexus 4? I purchased the gnex for 500 $ (dumb me) and nexus 4 is now selling for 299 $ only? WTF? What is the downside of it?
No microsd slot. Other than that it looks great.

If you want a faster CPU, better/bigger screen, more RAM, etc., then it is definitely worth an upgrade. Downside of it, is that it isn't available yet.
Considering it's not from Samsung you will not have squeaky plastic or inverted back menu buttons just to make it different, and no closed source software

This kind of attitude has always baffled me. I don't like a certain device so let me spend my time in THAT devices forums so I can tell people about my dislikes?? Come on, bro!

so it win win in hardware and software both side
Haha okay sorry if you were referring to me!
Got it!
Cheers!
Also, it looks more elegant than the Galaxy Nexus.
Heck, it looks so good I would lick it.
Really, the only downside of the Nexus 4 is the limited storage options.
Besides, Google Music solves the low storage option for music, and you can always use something like Dropbox for extra bits and pieces if need be, leaving the onboard storage for videos and whatnot. So for most users, it should be plenty.
Must say I can't wait to get mine. For the first time I have the option of rooting the stock ROM, job done! That said, will probably end up going with a custom ROM in order to have custom buttons and slightly improved performance and battery life.

I wasn't bashing on this phone directly, I was saying this from a general point of view. I like Nexus devices. They have great specs and I consider them as near-perfect devices. I'm just saying we shouldn't be limited storage-wise anymore.

People seem to always mistake, build quality and feel of the device. Samsung phones look and feel plasticy, but their build quality is very good, the Galaxy S2 is propably one of the most durable smartphones, after 1,5 years of usage without a case and countless drops, it's still n pretty good condition, unlike for example the HTC phones of some of my friends wich look like s hit (volume button missing etc.)
The reason that im still glad the samsung isn't the manufacturer of the new nexus is the fact that I'm sick of power hungry, oversaturated, screenburning Amoled.

What are you talking about?
The only true weaknesses of this phone are the lack of LTE and the low storage options. But if you are on t-mobile and use more cloud based storage or just not too much of your internal memory then it's a great phone.
The Nexus 4 has one of the best processors on the market (Qualcomm SnapDragon S4 Pro), 2 GB of ram (galaxy nexus has 1GB) and an improved camera over the galaxy nexus. The internal battery is 2100 mAh which is the same size as the extended battery for the galaxy nexus or 300 mAh more than the 1800 mAh standard battery of the galaxy nexus. Also the battery on the Nexus 4 is "serviceable" because you can replace it by removing the screws on the bottom of the phone. It's obviously not something you can do on the fly, but it is something you can do yourself. The battery life on this phone in theory should be fantastic compared to the galaxy nexus because not only does it have a larger battery and a more efficient (and faster) CPU, but it doesn't have LTE which means that is one less radio to be killing the battery. I've heard some people say that the battery life has been poor but I read a review just yesterday and the reviewer said you might be able to make it 2 days with minimal use. Also keep in mind that this is on "beta" software, It is not the final version of Android 4.2 which will be released on the phone starting Tuesday and I've heard they plan to send an OTA to the existing phones on Sunday.
I plan on buying the phone. probably not on Tuesday, with some restraint I will make it a few months before I buy it and look at real user reviews.

For the same hardware? Here are some phones that feature the same specs as the Nexus 4.

(Well they don't have expandable memory but with the amount of space embedded in the logic board, it should suffice.)
For the latest software updates? Stick with the Nexus 4 or any Nexus device except for the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon.
You could wait and see if the next Nexus phone will have expandable memory. Google will hold it's annual I/O event this May to announce their new Nexus devices. A new smartphone will come out before the year of this year for sure. So you can wait or camp out with the Nexus 4 for now.

Nexus devices will be announced at Google I/O but there will be no Nexus phone. Nexus phones tend to come out in the fall/winter months. If anything we'll see the supposed X Phone if we do see a phone.

First of all, camera on the Nexus 4 sucks balls, the one in the HTC will eat it up for brunch. Second, not every camera is the same to another camera and not every pixel is the same to another pixel.
4mp was normal for professional flagship dslrs costing thousands of dollars not so long ago. canon 1d for instance. even newer flagship models have traditionally lower numbers, lower than entry level plastic models, nikons d3 & d3s for instance. my d700 has 12. now these cameras have massive sensors compared to whats in a cellphone. its really really weird they go higher than 2mp, or at max 4 wioth these flea sized things. and you know why they do it, because the buying crowd loves high numbers. what htc is doing is not only sane, it will give them high quality pictures. unfortunately they piss away the lead by distorting android a minute later. :-/
i just hope google learn from it so that next nexus will get 4mp and no more.

Yep. You're right. But I think since the I/O event is going to be earlier this year, the devices will possibly come out earlier as well. We probably will get Key Lime Pie a few weeks after the announcement in May.

4mp is more than enough for most people unless you're taking photos for poster size prints...
Also, 4mp in the HTC One is much higher quality than most cameras, since the individual sensors are larger and capture more light, resulting in less noisy images. More pixels does not equal better camera.
See http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2415581,00.asp
The Nokia Lumia 920 has a excellent camera IMO. It's auto-focus is quick as a fox. The pictures looks amazing. I wish we had that in the N4.

How's everyone liking Nexus 4

I had a nexus s, galaxy nexus and went to a Z10. I'm kinda missing my Android experience and apps. I originally wanted the nexus 4 nut got this and now thinking of trading. Is everyone pleased with their nexus 4?
First Android phone, definitely pleased!

Make the trade bud.. Ive come from a galaxy s 4g, then an s2, then an s3... I couldn't be happier with my decision to buy this phone.

Definitely trade. Lots of ROMs to try out for this awesome phone.
Definitely better than Z10... using pure android is really a different experience after seeing Touchwiz or Sense

This is my 5th android phone. Can't go wrong with the nexus line. I love this phone like a fat kid loves cake.
Although I'm currently awaiting a replacement phone as the touch screen went dead on mine... I suspect static buildup then an arc from my leg to the screen... So I might suggest setting the phone down when you know you will be around static buildup, as I now will.

The screen is amazing once you calibrate it. It's easily as good as the HOX and iPhone 5 and probably as good as the Z10 (even with the lower PPI). Overall this phone is brilliant taking everything into account, couldn't have asked for more.

Z10 has more PPI , smaller screen , Cost a lot more

Its the best around...but don't wait to much longer to get it!

S4 mini versus Nexus 4

If you had a choice, which would you buy? The specs are nearly same and S4 Mini has a bit better specs interns of front camera, memory card, 4G and size. While I like the nexus 4 nterms of the android version as I am bored with the Samsung ones. For past couple days I have fixed my mind on nexus 4 but now after seeing S4 mini specs as well as complains of nexus 4 being over heated, im wondering which phone to buy.
S4 mini? Seriously?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
The n4 doesn't overheat iv had mine 4 month now total stock too, in terms of comparing it to the s4 I'd rather have the nexus hands down it looks better feels better you get updates months before Samsung the nexus front camera is 1.3 which is more than capable for video calls etc the only disadvantage is the memory and why would you pay over the top for the s4 when you can buy a nexus or 2 even for the price of one of those

Well specs wise it seems to match somewhat:
http://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/Samsung-Galaxy-S4-mini,Google-Nexus-4/phones/7788,7531
The s4 had a handy size which i liked, so kinda confused now. So looking for good reasons why Nexus 4 is a must buy instead of S4 mini. Im not really a gamer or using the phone for movies. So i just need phone for work use and probably work apps, good video calling (s4 mini has 1.9 Mp front camera compared to 1.3 of Nexus), good interface (in which nexus is better).
Well, it's August now which means we're probably a little over 3 months away from an update so I'd probably wait. That aside, having a nexus device for me is just as much about supporting a cause as it is about owning a phone. Easily unlocked/rooted, timely updates, no carrier bloatware, no contracts and longer supported devices.
I get more freedom and support from Google than I do anyone else. The more manufactures see people use nexus devices, the more likely we will see a culture change. If these things like this don't matter to you, is really just a coin toss.

I'd say if those are your criteria then get whatever's cheaper in your area since both will do the job more than well enough. Personally I'd take the N4 any day over the S4 mini. If you're concerned about the N4's screen size, don't be. I had the same thoughts as well when I upgraded from my 4.3" HD2 but now anything below 4.7" feels small.

hi,
Something interesting what i read today, May something to take note of?
is that the just announced LG G4 will support DSLR type features and RAW capabilities and o yeah removable battery .. plus Fm radio? Specs overall seems promising? Interesting and i will watch the LGG 4 reviews closely

LG 4 is hmmm this is not THE Note
Note 4 is still superb but camera lacks API 2.0 it seems. However when we would compare camera GUI to the LG cam GUI I would choose Samsung over LG anyway.

hi ,
yes, i have a similar viewpoint ( i have Note 2 ,Note 3 and Note 4 and Note 8.0 )
No removable battery , no sd slots ,....no camera 2api ( raw capablities ) ...is the Note 5 in line for these "improvements"
If so, i feel i must have alternative choice ,so for me LG is staking a strong claim ?
Its only the Spen functions ,that will keep me back .
Anycase when Samsung did not implement Camera 2 api ,i gave up hope and instead upgraded my old bridge camera to a Nikon DSLR ..(so i am happy ).
good luck
I think I will not like Note 5 so much due to its build. I think its gonna be like S6, very glassy fingerprint like material. I had S6 in my hands and I was disappointed how uncomfortable it lied in my hand.
But we will see.
LG G4 if becomes a superb phone I may give it a chance but it may end like One Plus One's camera - hugely hyped, final effect is poorer than skeptics thought.
I still sit with SGS II, there is always something I do not accept - in S6 I do not like materials, in S5 no camera stabilization.
Note 4 I love but no API 2.0.
Lg G3 camera is quite low (I mean GUI and possibilities).
note 4 is getting camera api so if thats holding you back you should not wait. the SD note 4 is having problems with camera api with long delays when taking pictures which is why it is not released. get an exy note 4 and camera api 2.0 will come in a future update.
Why the exynos? Won't Qualcomm ones have it to?
if they cant fix the bug only the exys will get it.

no thats still under debate. work has not even started on that yet.
So to get final conclusion it is highly unlikely Note 4 would get Camera 2 API implementation.... what a shame.
I say this because when you think it is obvious if Samsung wanted it to be, they would add it in LP release together with x64 CPU support.
Can you guys help us with this PETITION for RAW Support??? Please, thanks in advance, cheers:fingers-crossed:
