Works fine for me I'm only stock rooted though. My device status is official too.

This is where to get info on that app though http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114
Chain fire has fixed triangle away for the s4. It will reset your counter to zero if you're on stock rom and stock kernel. If you're not on stock rom and stock kernel the counter will stay at 1.

Can someone answer this? After reading a lot there is something I am still unsure of the definitive answer.... After running TA and returning counter to zero, will the counter be permanently at zero or will it start counting flashes again thereafter?
Idk but it is working properly now. Counter is zero and binary is official. Gotta be on stock ROM and stock kernel. Rooted is okay as well as hotspot mod.
Cool thanks guys I wasnt sure if I was doing sonethi wrong or what

It will reset to zero if you're on stock everything. If you use Odin after you used triangle away and trip the counter again, you ll just have to use triangle away again or select "allow tracker run" which will reset the counter every time you trip the counter.

You have to be on stock recovery for triangle away to work. If you stay on stock recovery after using triangle away it stays at 0. If you ever put a custom recovery on it will stay at one even if you use triangle away.

I'm on oudhs recovery and it reset everything fine, even after reboots. No, I don't have persistent checked either.

I was gonna go into Best Buy today because my dual shot wasn't working but then I factory reset and dual shot started working. So it musta been a mod I installed that caused it to not work, now it's time for some detective work to find the culprit! I did Triangle Away before I did the factory reset and I'm on TWRP and worked perfectly for me!!

Hmm that's good that it stayed reset. I thought it didn't though. Maybe the update fixed it. But that's good though.

Nope.... it was KT SGS4 kernel that was causing the problem. It's a known issue that I didn't know about -__- :banghead: using the 6-10-13 version now and it's fine!
The triangle away warning screens state that you need to be on stock rom and kernel in order for everything to reset as it should. If you don't follow the suggestions of ta, then don't get upset if you don't get the results you were hoping for.
Im not getting upset I have heard of a few people that did the counter reset with custom software and it worked I was going to try that next

Anyone done this? Do they care/check? And how would I go about resetting it if I do want to exchange it? I tried flashing the stock software, but it doesn't seem to go back. And now I'm unable to OR A update.
Thanks

I exchanged mine, but i made sure mine was Official status prior to sending it back. Did not want to take the chance
I used Triangle away then followed known instructions to unroot (or do as you did and flash stock)

I've checked through multiple sections (i9505, i9500, i337M). Tried flashing through ODIN, tried doing a bunch of other stuff. Used the search function multiple times. I can't seem to find anything thats tried and true that has worked.
If you could link me, that would be amazing.

Just did triangle Away, Now im going to reflash through Odin. Ill see what happens.
EDIT: Not working, Status Still says Custom :S. What did you do to remove your Root?
EDIT2: Did a Full wipe, Triangle Away and Odin Flash. Now im back to official .
If I root, Official will not be lost, its only if I flash something, correct?
EDIT3: Just rooted, and im back to Custom Status. Is there any way to maintain root while still having OTA capabilities?
If you return and they notice that you have a custom status, your account is going to be blacklisted and your warranty voided in the system... That's what happened to one of my friend.
Have you tried removing SuperUser and replacing it with SuperSU?
Triangle away will not work with the galaxy s4 for Att. Just install supersu. Open it and update the binary. Delete su and busybox from \system\xbin. Then uninstall superuser. Reboot twice and all should be well. You should still have root with supersu app after doing this.
You can Odin back after this for a clean start.

[Q] Root method on SGS4 i9505 to avoid "custom" status and red exclamation point?
Hi,
Over in the dev forum Chainfire describes his CF-Auto-Root in this thread.
As Chainfire says this method will increase the flash counter and set "unofficial" status. And since I'm a bit concerned about using TriangleAway ( it previously caused WiFi to stop working on my SGS2, until I did a factory reset) - I'm a bit reluctant to do it using this method.
That thread has also some references to the Motochopper root method. But I can't find anyone saying whether this will trigger the red exclamation point and set unofficial status.
Unfortunately I can't post to the original thread so I am asking in here instead. Does the Motochopper method increase flash counter, make phone status unofficial, and/or cause the red exclamation point on boot?
Thanks,
Descore

Short answer - CF's autoroot and motochopper both increase count and your phone will show custom.
T.A. breaking Wifi part - Coincidence at best or there would be a lot more exposure on that issue. I also have an S2. Use T.A. all the time, no issues.
With the i9505, Triangle Away works properly.
But, as the time of this post, if you're on MDL or planning to update to MDL you need to go to the [HOW TO][UPDATE]Latest Stock MDL firmware with Modem, Custom Recovery and Root. thread..
Who really cares about the flash count? Rooting in itself doesn't void your warranty on sprint. However your warranty doesn't cover your phone if it's bricked because something you did. It will cover hardware issues such as your screen going out. I had over 60 custom flashes on my gs3 and they still fixed my phone under warranty.
So does anyone in here know if the sprint version of the galaxy s4 is an international version?

It's not the international version with the octa core processor if that's what you mean.
But from what I've read the S4 can be used on international GSM networks outside of the USA by using the sim card slot which is for apparently LTE while on Sprint in the US. This won't work on networks inside the US though.
Don't quote me on this, there seems to be a lot of confusion on this topic but this seems to be the general consensus.

I rooted with Motochopper and installed TWRP with GooManager. I did not get the triangle, just the GS4 logo followed by the Sprint animation. It did notch the count.

"There is no spoon.." as in, there is no triangle.. have yet to see anyone post that there is one.
It's all about custom on build and count now in odin mode, it seems..

Need to go to Best Buy to possibly get a replacement because my dual camera doesn't work, I have the "smearing" problem on black screens and the pink tint issue on grey screens. So yeah I need a replacement phone so I want no traces of root! Pretty disappointed though, although minor problems with a $700 phone there should be NONE!

What about my flash counter and all that?? I want 0 traces of root!!!
Also, that's MDC and I'm on MDL... Does that matter? Can I just downgrade like that without going through any extra steps? Thanks!

You could downgrade, or look for stock MDL, its available at the Samsung Updates site.
I thought I had read somewhere that doing a full factory reset before or after the stock odin flash will reset the counter. I haven't tried it yet.
use triangle away first then use odin back to stock.. triangle away works for the s4 now.. i already used it 2 times.. i was gonna bring me s4 in the other day cause i thought it was my phone that was screwed up but it was the towers near me.. i used triangle away.. then stock tar file in odin and everything was stright like it came new from the store..

Well I thought my dual camera was screwed up and it was faulty hardware... turns out it's either a MOD I installed or the KT kernel that conflicts with it. Gonna re flash the stock deodexed ROM now to find out who the culprit is! No need to bring it back!
Hello People of the forum,
I have a galaxy s4 which is a i9505. I had rooted it, and got a rom, then re got it back to stock everything went fine. I decided to re-root, get a rom I have cyanogen mod and when I use triangle away, and press reset flash counter, it reboots on the left top I see recovery mode, and the logo of cyanogen comes again, and I loose my cwm , and still no reset flash counter.
Thanks all for reading it, hope to get help!
Hmm!
Guys I don't know what to do. I am a new member if somebody kind enough can tell me how to contact chainfire or send him this post, I would be very grateful.
I'm not sure what a solution to your problem could be, but I just want to say please don't bump your thread after less than an hour, in fact refrain yourself from bumping if it's less than a day, I'm not being nasty, I just dislike people bumping after an hour, this board is for development, not a troubleshooting board.

Yes , sorry I understand.
Triangle away ONLY works on stock kernel. There's a huge warning about it before you run triangle away.
Don't annoy Chainfire, it's working perfectly fine.
You just don't understand how to use it.

Thanks for you're reply. I don't want to annoy Chainfire, he made one of the most useful apps on the market. I flashed stock kernel, still no fix, so I just went ahead and put on 4.3 which is stock from sammobile, and my knox and binary are all 0x0 and official. Although don't know why this thing happened with triangle away. I know how to use it, as it had worked for my first time, but this strange thing happened, O well, happy that my warranty aint voided and phone is back to normal, thanks for you're reply tho!
So I could not get the phone to root (super user binary issue) and I installed that SetUID kernal and now my phone will not boot. Can someone please guide me to a fix. Thanks
Set uid kernel? What are you talking about? The sprint gs4 doesn't gave a kernel like that.

Crap I just realized that it is a T-mobile thing. Am I completely screwed now?...should have following my rule and read twice downloaded once.
If you did flash a kernel with that name, it would explain your boot problems.
Flash one for the Sprint S4 and all will be good.

Any of the appropriate kernels from the original development section will get you up and running. You'll just have to pick one for whatever rom you were one (4.3, 4.4, tw, aosp, etc)

Ok so found out that I can get into recov with power plugged in. So battery is low. But now did fact reset and still galaxy screen the now just blue led black screen
ok so I am back running. installed mk2_stock02 from Dev page. Was able to get CWM booting and loaded the ROM from there. My next question, probably has been answered but this is where my problem started before. When I go to open the SuperSU I get an error saying there is no SU Binary installed....and then closes.
Install super su from market
