What app am I deleting that is causing it to brick? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Maybe wrong forum, feel free to move.
I have Mint Jelly rom and an US AT&T GS4
Was cleaning up apps today and popped a few like S Health and ChatOn, and then decided to restart the phone and it says "samsung is upgrading...loading apps" and never boots.
this is the second time this has done this, so if anyone knows what I'm removing that's doing the please let me know. I'm almost positive that nothing i removed wasn't on the 'safe to remove' list...it just seems like samsung realized something is missing, tries to update itself, and is failing.
Thanks in advance for any replies

Help! I need somebody!

Help, not just anybody, Help, you know I need someone, help.
The Beatles I love that song...but seriously all kidding aside.
Over the last few weeks...every time I restart my phone I get a white sreen thats says....."We are sorry but services.exe could not be blah blah blah..." Anyone ever come across this?! The phone continues to work perfectly fine. and it only for maybe less than a minute while sense is booting up and once sense is booted it goes away and never comes back until I restart again. I just hit send report and it is gone?! Any ideas. I looked in the windows folder and found the services.exe but have not idea what it is or what it is for?! I clicked it to launch nothing happend (that i know of) so I copied a shortcut into the startup folder. I just restarted and it appears as if it went away. So I am just throwing this out...it might be a fix if anyone has ever come across this......
This was one of the errors that lead me to get a custom ROM and leave the crappy stock.
But there is a post somewhere here about this very topic,,unfortunately I have no clue where to find it...but one of the devs there suggested that if you dont want ot see that error anymore...just simply turn off error reporting in settings.
Otherwise the sevices.exe is a service that instantly restarts itself everytime it fails...and that is why that error has no meaning or effect at all.

cant download purchased apps

I have been attempting to dl apps that I've been purchasing only to have to get a refund before my money is lost. Everytime I try to install the app it just says installing forever and never starts the download. The strange thing is this only happens with apps I purchase. Free apps download just fine.
Has this happened to anyone else if so has anyone fixed this?
I've had the exact same thing happen to me. I just waited a bit and eventually it started to download. Took mine maybe 20-30 minutes.
This has been happening to me as well. I hit buy, get an email about my purchase and then it hangs. If i hit back, the button still says "buy", after a couple minutes it changes to "install". It has happened to me a few times with free apps also.
Sent from my Thunderbolt.
try wlan on / off. i know this bug from my galaxy s.
This happens to me as well with free apps... I've found that whenever it happens to just exit out of the market & try again. Not the best solution, I know... but it's worked for me before. Gotta love those growing pains...
Could you guys please report this to the market? Happened to me and they're just like "hurr durr you're probably doing it wrong"
Anyway once it becomes a known issue I suppose we can expect them to fix it.
When I buy.
I tab [My Apps] in Android market. (I can see: Downloading then Instal).
But will not appear in notification bar (like reguler free application).

samsung dive screen unlock

Hi I know im new to this and i have searched for my related subject with no avail so here is my issue/question. My Samsung galaxy note gt-n7000 keeps popping up in the notifications bar saying that Samsung dive has reset your password, so i logged in to dive and take a look to see if that's been hacked and someones messing with my screen unlock. But i notice the latest reset was 27/6 so i thought that's odd whys my phone keep resetting the password set the password back three times and its reset it self each time so far has any one else had similar issues? i'm wondering weather my phone has been hacked.
Im running ICS Official with root.
Did you by any chance try the unlock screen feature? If you did this is why it is doing it, mine did the same, only way I found to cure this, was to delete the account on pc and phone, then set up again only this time I have left that feature well alone.

I did once but its took over a month for the issue to arise, was yours straight away or did it take a month or two for the issue to arrive, I've just set a new password and restored system data using Titanium Backup Pro, I'll see how it go's now as the previous times it was instantly so I'm wondering weather some dodgy app got installed on my phone.
I had this issue and I reset the device and that was that. By reset I dont mean power on and then off I mean I flashed the device to get it back to factory clean. I do so every once in a while just yo make sure everything is running smoothly. It got rid of the issue you're speaking of. Ever since I left Samsung dive alone and only use it in case of emergencies.

I had this issue too.
Try opening the Samsung Apps and update the softwares from Samsung.

Brand new Galaxy Note 3, Android 5.0 doesn't start after encryption

Dear Experts,
Yesterday I have received a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 3, with Android 5.0.
I wanted to encrypt the device, didn't do anything else with it, I went straight for the encryption - I charged the battery to 100%, left the phone attached to the charger, set the screen lock and went for the encryption process.
The phone rebooted, showed the picture with percentage. Then it rebooted again, showed the SAMSUNG logo with a few stars flying around it. The LED is blinking blue and it stays like this for an hour or so. Rebooting by taking the battery out causes the same. I have reset the device to factory default settings and retried this 2-3 times, also selecting the fast encryption option, but each time the result is the same.
I have called the Samsung service, but, of course, this was an imported phone, it was honestly quite hard to find it, so they refused to help me, but they were pointing to installing a new software on the phone.
Please kindly advise what to do and which software/ROM would you advise me to put and if there isn't an easier method, because I'm used to Samsung's stuff and I would stay with the current ROM.
Basically, I am looking for the easiest solution to apply encryption.
Many thanks in advance!

Process System Isn't Responding

I rooted my Galaxy S4 SCH-I545 yesterday using kingoroot and all was going well. This morning I was using a root utility app to uninstall unwanted system apps. I went down the entire list removing unwanted apps (making sure not to delete any system processes or system apps, or at least I thought) and when I got to the bottom of the list to the last app I wanted removed, I hit "Reboot Now"
Unfortunately, now the phone won't boot past the red "Verizon" screen. It stays on there for about 30 seconds and then gives me the error: "Process system isn't responding. Do you want to close it? -Wait -Ok"
It doesn't matter which option I choose, the phone goes into a black screen with the top bar (battery, cell signal, time). After a minute or two, the phone reboots and goes through this same process over again.
I deleted a few samsung apps which I'm afraid one of them is causing this problem, but I honestly have no idea. I'm a total rookie at this.
Can anyone help me out? Did I delete/uninstall something important? What steps can I take to fix this?
Thank you!
Edit: Strangely enough, the phone wouldn't reboot so I removed the battery for a few minutes and tried again. The second time I did this It booted up properly. Not even sure how thats possible... Is there any way I can avoid this happening in the future?
Yes. Disable things rather than removing them. In a disabled state they do take up space in /system, but they're not running so they don't consume any resources. However, with an AT&T or Verizon device disabling apps is of limited effectiveness because the carrier apps don't like being disabled.
TL; DR: Disable first, and only delete if you can't disable.
