I'm looking for a way to move apps to sd with a rooted stock Canadian I337M.
Any solutions or ideas for this?
16GB is simply not enough to store large apps, especially considering I just purchased a 64gb MicroSD card.
Please help!

It has been discussed on a couple threads on the s4 forums. I don't have time to research. I have a 32gb with 64gb card so haven't paid much attn to it. My son ran Bard's Tale and it asked if he wanted to put data on sd. Think it is developer set with the app.
Anyway I Googled this--
http://www.bongizmo.com/blog/moving-all-android-apps-to-sdcard-apps2sd-froyo/
Do some research first, And, since you are rooted back up sdcard and copy to pc and do a nandroid and put a copy of it on pc.
Check out these two apps for what you want to do.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devankit.mapps2sd
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devankit.apps2sdpro
Are you really out of space or are you just paranoid and want to start moving things now?
If you're rooted you can user FolderMount to redirect installed apps to your microSD

The apps such as app2sd don't seem to work with the galaxy s4.
I uninstalled some larger games for now to free up some space.

Foldermount is the only thing that works with galaxy s4. It's in the play store. Android phones with 16gb of storage is major fail. They copied iPhone so much you would think they would have copied the good things of iPhone like 64gb option.

That and 16gb that is really 9 is pretty silly. I think with the iphone you still get like 13 or something. Regardless loving my S4, don't think ill ever go back to apple for phones.

Nope
You can, however, browse these forums for alternative storage methods
Nope.
You can though get an OTG cable and use a flash drive, with root of course.

On Digitimes "Samsung reportedly to phase out from microSD card market" as you can see it is being reported that Samsung plans to phase out microSD cards http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20130507PD224.html. Also, consider if they go the way of Amazon, Nexus and the rest with no microSD cards--no way for users to warehouse their own data. Therefore requiring an internet connection to access your own data, then there will be few products out there with microSD cards and the storage you buy will be all you have unless you want to store your information on remote servers "cloud" to be accessed only if you have a web connection.
To voice your opinion about microSD cards you can email [email protected] and input. The more people who input on wanting them to continue to use microSD cards/slots in their future products the better chance they will keep the technology. I know this is a matter of choice and everyone feels differently about it, but, if you value having microSD please contact Samsung.
-Thanks
UPDATE
Samsung replied to my email stating they are checking out the source for the article and information. They are taking into consideration the way customers feel about having devices with microSD card slots & cards. So many people have been emailing, thanks to everyone who has. Before we emailed they didn't know how valuable devices having MicroSD slots & cards were to us. Of course, they said they appreciated our input.
On a final note, if you haven't emailed yet please do, the more the better the outcome.
Thanks again!
They are moving away from making microsd cards, not from having an sdcard slot in their phones...

Why put something in you don't plan to make money off of? Not, clear from the way the article was written to make that absolute determination. Why not let it be known you value having a microSD slot & cards?

They would be foolish to remove microsd frome phones and tablets, one of the main reason why I bought Samsung phone and tablet is for the Mico sd, when it comes to the note I would probably keep buying it cause of the pen input but other then that I would move to the nexus lineup

Not saying its a make our break factor but it is a factor and It does help with the decision making, the real question is if you had two identical devices and the one difference was one had an sd slot and one doesn't what would you pick

Last year one that has SD slot . This year not so relevant using a 2TB NAS box .
jje
latest versions of android OS already force people to install all apps to internal memory so i am not surprised if samsung eventually phase out micro sd, i guess i need to buy what i need soon before it's too late, it's a shame because i have a few of their micro sd cards, they are quality built too.

not everyone has access to the internet and cloud data which is what android and samsung need to realize, phasing out a essential feature will only alienate a majority of their customers, maybe it will be their downfall? who knows.
Amazing.
None of you read the original article.
Go read it. They're not phasing out expandable storage on our devices. They're getting out of the consumer market of sd cards.

I am at a loss here. I have an SGH-i337 (AT&T GS4) 64gb, when I go to the Storage settings it shows that I only have 24.03gb available. That does not sound right to me. I understand that system files and bloatware will take a few gb's but nearly 40gb?! If this is correct then I feel severely wronged by both Samsung and AT&T. If there is something wrong and there is a way to remedy it I would greatly appreciate the insight, thank you.
There's a 64 GB version?
I am a bit confused to
There is no att 64 gb model ( unless there is and I don;t know) and if you did get that much usable gb then it is probably a 'lemon' and you should return it for exchange.
That definitely sounds like a 32 GB model..

Actually, I have just removed my foot from my mouth. I was thinking of my 64gb microSD card when I was writing about my dilema. I in fact have a 32gb S4. I am still confused on just how much space is being utilized by system settings and bloatware. Is 7+ GB the norm for these things? And thank you joeybear23 for pointing out my inaccuracy .

the phone storage capacity has nothing to do with any update schedule. The people you see that have updates are probably newbs that are just now finding a way to receive the initial OTA MDL
New updates coming from Samsung and AT&T
I spoke with a source inside AT&T and they claim due to the amount of complaints and returns on both the 16 and 32g phones they are working to correct the freezes and system app crapouts. When is still a mistery
By inside ATT you meant behind the counter at your local ATT vendor.

That is funny. I have not had one freeze or any single problem. Not one. And my ATT store has had no returns or complaints. They have even run out of some models.
You realize they will tell you want to hear if you lead them. And the counter guys are not long termers so they will even make stuff up.
Also there are no threads on xda about stability issues, so your area must be like Bermuda triangle for cell phones.

flashing an international ROM and freezing unused apps works great to cut lag, and the newer XXUBMEA intl ROMs do allow many apps to be installed on SD card, so it does free SOME storage up (but not a whole lot more than what it came with stock, ie about 9GB for the 16GB version and 25GB for the 32GB version)
