Hi. I own a Samsung Galaxy S4 i337M, which as you know has only 9 GB of internal free space. I have an SD, but I can't figure out how to move the apps to that place. I tried several methods, incluiding the app-moving apps in the Market, and the foldermount method, but nothing works.
Anyone knows a real, working method?
PS. I'm not from the US, therefore my S4 is not Sprint. I didn't knew where to post this.
Thanks.

What issues are you having with FolderMount? It is verified as working for the S4. I use it and it works flawlessly on mine.

It looks like it works, it apparently move all the files to the SD (according to the app), but when i check the SD in the explorer, nothing actually happened.

Sup xda. So I just won a galaxy s4 Google edition from a contest, and it can't write on my 32gb Samsung class 10 SD card. The problem is the phone, because it would write perfectly on my s3, also I bought a new one (sd card) and it can't write on it either, so definitely the phone's the problem. I read that this is a problem from android 4.3. Is there a workaround or will I just have to wait for kitkat?
I really need it to be able to write on the SD card cause I have some apps that rely on that.
Please help. Thanks

Isn't this a result of 4.3 disabling that feature? You have to root the phone, and edit a file to allow the media_rw group access. There are tutorials out there to explain in more detail.

Is root the only way? I really didn't wanna do it given some issues I've haven in the past with my s3 and the charging current intensity. But whatever. I'll see to it.

That S3 issue sounds like you installed a ROM. I'm not suggesting that, I'm just saying you need to root in order to adjust whatever system file needs adjusting. Here's what I found. Good luck!

I have Rooted my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE Running 4.3 . Now I want to Upgrade to 4.4.2 . Is it Better ? Or is it better to stay on 4.3 ? .
Thank you
Edit: I just realized this thread is in the wrong section. Q and A section please. Not to mention there are other threads like this already
Maybe you should read all the comments and decide for yourself? There is no way I could upgrade because it breaks microSD (can't write to it anymore), it loads new bootloader, so you can't go back and likely you will loose root in the process and some third accessories don't work anymore. It also fixes some holes in Knox security. So if you don't use SD card and don't care about other issues, why not upgrade, if you do care, I think you should wait. All this is changing almost daily and maybe all those issues will be fixed soon, but for now I don't see any benefits, your case may be totally opposite.
Pete4k is the external SD problem affecting all of kitkat or just some roms? Is there a thread page you could link me to about it if you CPUs be bothered?

It's better in terms of being faster overall. Having said that some functions don't work at the moment, for example in my case, the relative humidity sensor doesn't work ( or at least no driver was provided ). Also once you update to 4.4.2 you cannot go back to 4.3. But if you're the type that doesn't flash custom roms/recovery that often then I would say go upgrade.
I want to flash official 4.4.2 , but I want to know before doing that what are the differences between 4.3 and 4.4.2 , what features will be added
Thank you,

but I've seen few others. They claim you can fix it if you're rooted, but I don't think you can root KK without tripping Knox yet. Samsung admitted themselves some third party acc. don't work any more and they promised fix, but who knows when. I won't have official update for at least few months, but even then, especially sd card issue completely kills it for me, since one of the main reasons I get Samsung phones is for SD card.

The SD card issue that you mention is not a bug. It would never be patched. Kitkat handles external SD card differently. Apps which want to write data to it need to have a different permission. As of yet, not many apps have been updated with the new permission. Butin time, you can expect most of them to get updated.
In the meantime, you can root your Kitkat rom and change a simple value in an XML file. It will give all apps the permission to write to the external SD card.

The differences between 4.3 and 4.4 are subtle. The status bar icons have changed to white. And Google has enforced it. So every vendor has to make white icons. Honestly, they look nicer to me than the ones Samsung had earlier.
The phone is noticeably faster when turning the screen on and also when unlocking.
Another thing I noticed was a slight improvement in the multiwindow functionality. You can maximize one of the two apps over the other one without it closing. Very useful when you need one of the apps to use the full screen for a small duration of time.
Kitkat also provides native support for wireless printing.
Not much else I can think of right now. But take a look at kitkat's changelog. Just google it.

The only third party accessory not working is the S-view cover. You can use the exposed module by MohammadAG to fix that.
Also, Samsung has admitted to the issue and have commited to fixing it in an OTA update.
I just Realized that if I had upgraded to 4.4.2 , S view and SD Card will have some issues ?

Hi
I just upgraded to 4.4.2 and the only problem am having that {VLC app} doesn’t detect the media inside the Sd card other then that everything works as it was on 4.3(SD).
Overall the 4.4.2 feels smooth and fast.

Anybody got issues with latest update 4.4.2 for AT&T I337 mobile?
Please post here issues you are facing with latest update.
Thanks!!
None of my end so far. I just updated it last night around 1am EST. Been running since then perfectly fine. The phone is noticeably faster than before and has a quicker response time as well.
After the update the only thing I did have to do extra was reinstall SwiftKey. Any programs that I had that were in a paid status had to be reinstalled. Non-paid apps stayed with no issue.

Restoring with ODIN worked great, must have been trying with the wrong ROM. Now just wish we could root this one and have a variant of the 4.4 that did not have all the bloatware. Don't need all the Samsung and AT&T apps.

Hmm, not sure. I just tested it with my phone. Moved files to the SD, Renamed, Modified, etc... No issues. I tried with the Explorer that came with my phone as well as two file explorers that I tested out from the Play Store. Seems to be working fine for myself. Not sure why it's not working for you.

Overall Ifind the update made my phone much snappier and the data seems faster but speedtest has it the same. The illusion must be from the phone being snappier. I disable new bloatware Beats Music.
I wanted to try ART but it appears Samsung has chosen not to include it.I'm hoping the pieces are still there and it can be enabled once root is obtained.
I have not had any SD Card issues but if I do I assume it may be something that can be worked around with root. So looking for a root method, I am.

It is supposed to work with the built-in file manager, but not with third party apps. Can you tell me which file explorers (beside the built in) lets you rename files on the external SD? I have tried several and that all fail (except the built in one).
It works fine.
Hello everyone,
I finally rooted my Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 and I'm really enjoying the benefits of a rooted phone.
So far so good. I have just one Problem: I seem to not be able to install .apk files I downloaded from the internet even tough I allowed the installation of apps from sources other than the Play Store in the settings menu. You can see it here.
I didn't change a thing after rooting and I had no problems before the root. I also rebooted a couple of times already.
To root my Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 I used the Auto-Root method from Chainfire (awesome guy! :good: ) that can be found here. My Adroid version ist 4.4.2.
I am really thankful for all your help. I appreciate it!
Sincerely Nero

Hi Buddy,
I just bought Galaxy Tab 4 7 few weeks ago, to replace my old Tab 2 7
But one thing that makes me a bit confused, when I'm trying to move few apps and games to SD Card, its only moved the small data (see attachment)
I've used about 5 different samsung devices previously, and when I moved the apps and games to SD Card, its moved almost the entirely files. Why it doesn't work at Tab 4 7?
Also, is there any CF Auto Root for Tab 4 7? Or any substitution that can root tab 4 7 as easy as CF Auto Root?
Thank you before!
