s4 models - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

which model have the best proccessor
i9500 or i9505 or i9502 or ..

The I9500 is marginally faster and more power efficient. It also has better audio hardware, although I have read the difference is negligible.
The I9505 is marginally slower than the I9500 but is better for compatibility and ease of development, hence the availability of a working Cyanogenmod 10.1 build already. It also has 4G, unlike the I9500.
The I9502 is a dual sim version of the I9500.

So.. i9506 killed i9505?

I did some researches recently and i think i9506 would have a better performance than i9505, however, the datas I found are about 6 months old...
So I am wondering, does anyone have encountered any problem with i9506 if you bought the phone in 2014? Does it really better than i9505 (performance and battery time)?
My friend bought me an i9505 as a gift 3 days ago, but I want to swap it to i9506. Is it worth?
Many Thanks
There aren't many reviews on the i9506 out there. But afaik it is running a snapdragon 800 2.3ghz processor and adreno 330 gpu. The i9505 is on snapdragon 600 1.9ghz processor with adreno 320 gpu. It should run slightly faster and do better on mobile games.
It depends on how much you need to pay to swap it for a i9506. The i9505 is good enough if you use a debloated touchwiz rom or any aosp based one. If you use a custom kernel like KT's, tweaking that or using built-in profiles like the ktoonservativeq will help in performance too.

Performance, 9506 is better
Development, 9505 is much better
If you don't do any flash, you should go with 9506 , otherwise I suggest you go for 9505

What buy I9500 or I9505?

Which version better to buy? I9500 with Exynos or I9505 with Snapdragon? I can choose but I don't know which is better.
On XDA I see more threads/posts at Snapdragon version... But I hear that Exynos have Wolfson audio chip and better music - true?
True, but i have i9505 and sound quality is very good, if you have good headphones (also I was wondering which one to choose because music is very important to me) moreover i9505 has beter support dev
In my opinion it depends where do you live? For example, in Argentina we don't have lte support, so we have to use the 9500
Hello,
My friend @frapeti (recognized developer) had both I9500 and I9505.
He said that I9505 it's way better and satisfactory than I9500

I9505 is better..
Hi,
i9500 uses Exynos processor, known for its not so good support and problems. While i9505 uses Snapdragon, known for its stability, amazing dev support and good power.
I'd go for i9505 (I use one actually ), my friend has the i9500 and the performance doesn't differ a bit, actually he's starting to complain about Touchwiz lagging his device now... And as you said it has more threads and more dev support .

[Q] Which S4 should I get?

Hi,
I am looking at the specs on androidbenchmark.net and noticed that the i9505 is the most powerful S4. Should I get that one? I don't need the international calling, but don't want an S4 that's underpowered. I currently have a Samsung Relay and find it to be rather slow. Here are the performance benchmarks for each phone per the site:
GT-I9505: 5156
GT-I9506: 4380
SGH-I337: 3370
SGH-M919: 3395
Relay: 1831
Anyways, not sure if these benchmarks are reliable as the CPUs they're equipped with do not seem that far away from each other, but was wondering if I could get some clarification here.
Thanks!
Hello,
I suggest you to take GT-I9505

I9505
Hi,
This benchmark seems a bit fake for me... i9506 uses SD800, which is way more powerful than SD600 (i9505). However, I suggest you getting i9505, as you get a better developer support for it and it's powerful enough to run almost anything you want .

URGENT! HELP! Regarding AnTuTu Performance on G900H

Hi all!
Please help me in a simple matter regarding AnTuTu
I am currently using Samsung Gakaxy Note 3 SM-N900(Exynos) and want to upgrade to Samsung Galaxy S5 G900H(Exynos) which is available in my country.
But I am a bit confused as I love the big screen of Note 3 and the better camera os S5. I know I can't have both when I am poor.
So I ordered S5 so that I can compare it myself. Either I will return the S5 or will sell the Note 3 in next 10 days, but I am stuck somewhere.
Technically, S5 with Exynos 5422 should be faster than Note 3 with Exynos 5420. I know RAM plays important role too, but HMP should raise the flags towards S5.
However, I am getting very low AnTuTu score on S5 compared to Note 3.
Just for test, I flashed both phones with complete wipe and "NAND Erase All" with latest Lollipop ROMS available and the AnTuTu I am using is 6.1.4 with 3D Benchmarks 6.0.4
The score I am getting varies from 52000-54000 for Note 3 and 44000-46000 for S5
That is some 8000-10000 point low for S5.
HOW can this be possible? All reviews show S5 has the upper hand, but thats not in my case. Should I consider replacing my unit?
I wont be opting S5 just for Android 6. I need performance as well.
Guide me please.
Please help at the earliest.
Thanks.
Who cares about benchmark?
I don't get what you want to aquire switching note3 for s5.
Almost same spec with smaller screen.
That is all pointless.
Ps. You should've bought g900f snapdragon. That suposed to be a bit quicker than exynos g900h

I comfirm this
Gta sa and lcs work flawlessly on note 3 exynos 4.4.2 but they lag on galaxy s5 exynos 6.0.1
antutu benchmark of my S5 snapdragon gives me 62741
Benchmarking is not relevant, plus the Note 3 has 1 gb of RAM more than the S5.

purchase galaxy s5

Hi,
What is the better buy versions galaxy s5, snapdragon or exynos? (I mean the performance and battery)
Generally Snapdragon has much more roms developed for it while Exynos used to be much better in performance. As for battery - I don't know.
