I'm looking for a good VPN that will get me fast speeds. The best I've tried is hotspot shield but its VPN is in California and I need a VPN out of north america (Europe is good). Hot spot gives me around 8-9mbps which is great but for what I need I need a VPN that connects out of north aamerica. I've tried many that do have vpns in other countries but don't give me the speed I need (I usually get 1-1.5mbps with those). I use it to stream video from NBA game time which is meant for people out of the USA or Canada that cannot see NBA games on their TV (I just don't have sports channels)

Hi, you Cingular and Tilt guys and gals. From the UK we have booked a Car Camping Tour using a hire car convertible.
Our Tour visits California Pacific Highway (Car Tour Start and End is Sacramento) heading South to Los Angeles then East to Arizona Grand Canyon, North Utah, Wyoming and at Oregon Seattle heading Pacific Highway South.
We plan going to plenty of KOA campground sites that boast Wi-Fi. Is it possible that anyone will recommend “Best Service Provider, and sensible cost, Wi-Fi, WLAN, PDA Wireles supplier”?
Is anyone going to tell me AT&T, iPass or Resco Explorer 2007 is favouroite
Come on instead of all the pointy headed development let us lighten up a little ok?
I learned today that my friend in California has replaced his router with a model that has WLAN just to accomodate a Brit with his iritating pocket pc!
Find out if your friend has AT&T DSL, if he does and it's 3-6mb he has free wifi access at any Starbucks or McDonalds, as long as he doesn't mind you using his DSL username/password...
Thank you, I have read a review identifying Starbucks replacing T-Mobile with AT&T. My friend does not have AT&T Wireles Router or an AT&T plan. I intend visiting AT&T Agent in Redding at the first opportunity and discuss my needs there.
Hi all,
Sorry for posting - just re-read some posts - I see that the UK model doesn't have the hardware to support the US 3G frequencies - Apologies.
Dennis! West London UK!
hardware supports voice and data on the US GSM/EDGE bands; no support for US 3G bands.
Most definitely works. I'm in California using Touch HD on AT&T for about 9 months now without a problem. As far as 3G, I don't really miss it, nor care about it. Had a Blackberry previously and Motorola Q Global previously and even with the 3G on AT&T surfing web was annoying. So I don't do a lot of surfing the web on the phone. Just isn't practical for me. However!! I'll do an occasional dictionary.com, Wikipedia, Google maps, or surf a few freeware sites. Speed is adequate and always dependent on signal strength. I check multiple email accounts through out the day, send and receive photos. Even able to let my 4 yr old watch a few cartoons from youtub site with any lagging. Now that I've babbled on and on and blah blah blah...hopefully I understood your question correctly - Good luck
Phone will work in the USA fine apart from 3G which has no support at present

anyone know of a way to make this work? i wanna be able to watch the world cup games while im at work by my work only has wifi i cant get good 3g coverage where i am(under lead and concrete) so sprint tv doesnt work. any way around this so i could use wifi with sprint tv?
NO Sprint TV is not WIFI compatible. You must use it over your phone antenna. Sucks I know but hey the cool thing is I noticed my EVO 3G/EVDO connections seems much faster than my TP2.
epic disappointment. and to boot my dvr isnt working!
Blame all the people who took the Sprint TV app and installed it on non Sprint phones for other carriers for this. Sprint used to allow TV over wifi.
There have been some peeps talking about data speed on their network, with this in mind I did a little test using www.speedtest.net
The website's big desktop flash is a little slow to load on our phones, but goes on to work perfectly.
I am on UK Vodafone and was standing in Leicester Square (Central London) 9PM ish when I performed the test.
I am using Doc V9 froyo (based on JPO)
I managed 4Mbps download (I think vodafone support 7 mbps at this loaction, possibly network contention was an issue)
I also managed 3mbps Upload speed, (I have no idea what vodafone support), which is good going as I have Virgin 50 mbps broadband at home and only get 1.7 mbps upload (as stipulated by my contract with them)
Why go to the website, "there is an app for that"
Not the best of results from that site over the years it can throw in some idiotic figures like 20MB ps
jje
there are several apps for speedtest, but imo speettest net is the most handy one
I generally get fairly accurate figures off them too,, and I find that my MBB is a lot faster than the BB we had from the fixed line,,
And I can take it anywhere with me,, Plus I'd never hit the 8mbp/s that Eircom said I'd get here,,
Hey guys. Going to London for the Wedding (I am CIO of www.TheNaturalSapphireCompany.com and a lot of press are using my sapphire rings) in 2 weeks and need a fast HSDPA battery powered device I can rent for a week to get my ipad and laptops on the net.
I found:
http://www.cellhire.co.uk/products/uk/mifi
http://www.adamphones.com/short-term-hire/3g-mobile-wifi-broadband/
http://www.fonmigo.com/index.php#wifi
But it looks like they are all 3G. How is the coverage of HSDPA in central London, and does anyone know of a good rental place that I can get one from (and 2-3 smart phones).

See what suits your needs best
That is 3G as well.
I am looking for anything faster than 3G. I will be uploading pictures to my website, and with 3G, I will be days behind.
Something like:
UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, 3G+, or HSPA+
Is that available in London.
hsdpa is available in most major uk towns now, although you ll prolly be better finding one of the many free wifi hotspots scattered all over, hell the hotel youll be staying in will have free wifi, most do...... but the hsdpa is available if u want it.
look here
http://londonist.com/2007/05/free_wifi_in_lo.php
There seems to be no public wifi by the Palace, where I will be most of the days.
Which services have HSDPA?
London all carriers will have hsdpa but there is no hspa+ in the Uk. O2 and vodaphone have better coverage
Have a look at the 3 mifi - works like androids portable hotspot
