sprint tv over wifi - EVO 4G General

anyone know of a way to make this work? i wanna be able to watch the world cup games while im at work by my work only has wifi i cant get good 3g coverage where i am(under lead and concrete) so sprint tv doesnt work. any way around this so i could use wifi with sprint tv?

NO Sprint TV is not WIFI compatible. You must use it over your phone antenna. Sucks I know but hey the cool thing is I noticed my EVO 3G/EVDO connections seems much faster than my TP2.

epic disappointment. and to boot my dvr isnt working!

Blame all the people who took the Sprint TV app and installed it on non Sprint phones for other carriers for this. Sprint used to allow TV over wifi.

I know work at Sprint BIG QUESTION

Ok here is the deal. I'm not sure if this has been done before with the Athena/Advantage:
I'm in the USA and want to use the benifits of Sprint's EV-DO Rev A internet but buy a HTC advantage for web browsing, GPS, and everything else...
I started working for Sprint so i have to get rid of T-Mobile service. Now I have a HTC Universal but obviously that is GSM now CDMA so i will be selling it. I been going over this in my head a lot and figure this is the best solution to having a great phone and yet still have the sprint service if its even possible. Worst case scenario would be having to get the Sprint Mogul
P.S.
Also what CDMA Rev A phone would be the best to tether to a Windows 6.0 pocket pc

HTC Snap from Sprint No WiFi -- Any ideas?

I am thinking about getting the HTC Snap from Sprint but there is one problem: No WiFi. I know the T-Mobile Dash 3G and Ozone have WiFi, but I am using Sprint because I get an extremely reduced price on data and texts through my friend. I was wondering if anyone has ever made a Bluetooth WiFi Reciver or a dongle I could plug in the Mini USB, or something like that. I work in a building where cell phone signals are pretty spotty and I'd like to have data indoors.
Also, I read some posts and saw in the specs that the HTC Snap for Sprint has a diffrent processor than other Snaps, and is called Willow and not Maple. Does that mean I can not use the roms from here? Will I still be able to do stuff like install Skyfire or an NES Emulator?
Thank you very much for your help, this website is awesome!

PS> You might have noticed above I am currently on T-Mobile, I am switch to Sprint because of the reduced price my friend can get me.
The Sprint Version does not come with Wi-Fi. Sorry.
ur best option of all..get an Ozone from VZW, but order it online from verizonwireless.com. not only will u get wifi and everything else u could want with this little powerhouse, it'll run u less than $100 bucks! just because u get "the extremely reduced price" doesnt mean u should settle for something ur not gonna be happy with. and when u think about it, the price for a dongle or an usb attachment for wifi, plus Sprints pricing for the device u can most likely buy 2 Ozones from VZW.
no i dont work for VZW..just trying to save u a buck in the right areas.
p.s. welcome to xda!

Hero Tethering slow

I'm a teacher during the week and a photographer on weekends. 2 years ago when i tethered my mogul I could steam you tube vids no problem. Tethering was fast as hell. Then with touch pro I couldn't reasonably stream vids but could still show my photos to potential photography clients from my webstie so it was ok. Now I'm trying to tether with the hero i got about a month ago and it is too slow to even show my website to clients. This is a dealbreaker - may have to get something else even though i love the phone.
My set up is latest damage control rom with pda net. Pda net is the only tethering option i could get to work but am getting close to dial up speeds. Wi fi tether seems to work but the laptop never gets internet connection. Tried all radios on geeks for me and stock seems best but not by much. Any help on getting this thing to tether with some speed would be greatly apprieciated. I've searched extensively to no avail.

What PRI are you using? 2.11 made USB tethering work for me. It's quick. Here's how to get it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=661396&highlight=MNS
I agree with icornwal, using the 2.11_002 PRI gives me consistent >1Mb download speeds
...and it charges the battery

What sprint apps are broken?

No NFL or Nascar but TV and Sprint Nav both work.
Can't tethering cause extra charges on the phone bill? I swore i just read a story about this on the news about a guy who's kid racked up a $18,000 verizon bill doing this.

I was watching Hulu the other day using my Wifi tether on the hero so I don't think it's the phone causing you a problem.

Sprint TV Quality

Is there a difference of quality between 3G and 4G with sprint TV? Does it even work on 4G? it looks pretty bad on 3G and i'm hoping it will get better with 4G.
It looks A LOT better on 4G. On 3G indeed it is pretty awful.
How can I watch Sprint TV over wifi? It automatically shuts down wifi when I launch it.

You can't. Thank the people who took the Sprint TV install files and ran them on every other network but sprint.

Oops my bad. I kind of mixed up YouTube and Sprint TV in my previous comment. Yeah Sprint TV does not work in Wifi but it still looks way better on 4G then on 3G.

Just shooting from the hip hear because someone will be along shortly to put in their 2 cents..
Being that Verizon and Sprint use two different bandwidths I'm going to say it wont work. Its like trying to pick up FM with an AM radio.

Sprint and Verizon's 3G are compatible with each other. That's why Sprint phones can, or used to be able to, roam on Verzion's network...
Sprint and Verizon's 4G networks are not compatible, though.
Sprint and VZW still roam off each other... so the freq's aren't an issue.
I guess it depends on whether or not you upgraded to the 4G radio.
Can it operate on Sprints network? yes, will sprint allow it? probably not. Sprint employees have to let the device work on the network and technically they're not supposed to do that, but if you're good friends with a sprint technician maybe you can talk them into it.
