If you are talking about the CM10.1 that just had the wifi fixed then this issue needs to be reported to the developer. The developer needs to fix this issue.

but how to report? I can't able to post any comment on Android development
I just read your first post more carefully.
The wifi was fixed by dzo. He fixed the wifi the same way he fixed wifi in Aurora ICS. Your wifi problem is also in Aurora.
The best you can do is to flash the ROM (v5 with wifi) again (do a clean install). If it still doesn't fix that problem, then tell me and I will report the problem to developer.
Thanks.

Okay, I went back to Aurora V5U21 and flashed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24412002&postcount=3379
the patched WLAN configuration. Everything seems work great except I set the WiFi always on but when screen off still WiFi will off, but everytime it off it will autoconnect itself without reopen the WiFi.
And also I installed a clean CM10.1 V5, and used like 1 or 2hour then the WiFi icon remain blue but without updown arrow then awhile become grey and won't auto reconnect anymore, just stay grey there until I reopen WiFi. Is not a big problem but sometimes I open WiFi wait for Whatsapp or other social apps. I don't know when it disconnect.

OK, I will report that for you to the developer.
Same here
I too experience wifi not comnnecting after sleep mode... and When connected to USB mode.. the transfer rate is around 170 kbps... Anyone hav this problem??
I have sent a message to the developer. Now, I am not sure if he will fix this problem or not. I think he will fix it because a lot of people on the development thread are talking about this issue as well.
Since we are talking about CM10.1 wifi issues, I'll state mine too.
I installed CM10.1 v7 on my U8800, everything looked ok, apart from the wifi. I could see all networks around me but the phone couldn't connect to anyone.
The same issue was present in aurora 5v20 but flashing the alt wpa supplicant fixes the problem.
I tried using the same file in CM10.1, the wifi connected but only my home's router was visible ( I should be able to see at least 5 more routers) I could not see nor connect to any other network.
Anyone know why does this happen?

I am currently on CM10.1 v9 and found out that if I enable wifi modes b + g on my router the phone connects. With g mode only no luck. I don't know if that helps you, but it is something.

Hi i have very slow wifi on my u8800. I use Aurora ICS 4.03 Version 1.6. I have wipe when I install the ROM. I tried to download wifianalyser from market and it isent finished after 10 min (500k file). If I send a 1 mb file with wifi file explore it takes 5-10 min. Anybody know what the problem is?
Having the same problem..
Tried to flash an older stock .35 kernel ROM, and then Aurora ICS, but did not help.. Wonder what the problem is.. Doe's not seem like other people have wifi issues..
Running Aurora ICS 1.11
Yeap, mine too extremely slow to a point that it says that the connection has timed out. Lets hope its an easy fix for dzo because I can understand the man works hard to keep the updates rolling day after day.
Testing wifi at my parents house, on a d-link DIR-615, and it works like a charm..
Wonder why it wont work on the other ones i have tried..
bcus our wifi card is a cheap piece of sheat
it doesnt work on all modems and even if it works its not fast at all
Slow wifi
Hi, is there any solution to the slow wifi problem yet? Also, my wifi doesnt always disconnect so its doesnt auto switch to 3G/HSPA when I leave the hostspot area. Its almost as if it stays conected even if the hotspot is not broadcasting. I read in on the forum somewhere there are files you can try restore too check if its better but I cant seem to find the post now.
Thanks

Cheers. This lil patch helped me out. Wifi is running now, was about 200k before, now it is about 18.000k!
Has anoyone else trouble with wifi and cm10? I can't download more than a few mb. then the connection stalls, and I have to manually disconnect and reconnect to get it working again. I'm using a m252 with green lense as phone and a fritzbox 7390 as wifi router.
I forgot: Wifi in CM9 worked without problems...

I have the same problem, but also on stock defy, CM7 but under CM10 it occures more often. (Defy green lens)
I had trouble with a virgin media hub, but a sky one works fine. If the hub has a connect button try connecting that way instead of via entering key and it might work, did for me

hey,
yeah I had exactly the same problem as the OP described. Initially I couldn't get the wifi to connect at all, got stuck on 'obtaining IP address'. I had to cancel my wifi wpa2 security and put it back on later to resolve that issue.
(If it helps anyone - I tried out cm10 for a few days, but ran into wifi problems, rockplayer didn't work (that is supposed to be resolved by now), and couldn't get the samba share to work. So I'm switching back to cm7.2 for a little longer. cm10 looks great and it never crashed on me so I'm very impressed, and actually donated AGAIN to the developers
Just for the record, here are the results of some experiments I did:
* full wipe: didn't help
* connect via wps: didn't help
* disabled wp on routers: didn't help
* switched from wpa2 to wpa: didn't help
* disabled disconnect on bad connection: didn't help
* switched back to cm9: everything works fine
so I guess I'm stuck for now... :-/

I get the message 'Authentication problem' on my Defy running 08/08 quarx installed this morning.
I've tried restarting the Thomson router but nothing changes. Wifi worked fine on C7.1 but I must admit I didn't check it on the C10 04/08 build.
My 3G connection is pretty good so I have no plans to uninstall and will double check at the weekend, where I can get access to a BT Homehub.

I'm using it ( CM10 08/08 quarx) too, but I have the same wifi problems (shows the phone connected to the wifi but the internet is stopped).
As far as I can see, they (stock, CM, MIUI, WIUI) work differently on each phone.
Regards,

Interesting.
For the record my router is the Thomson TG585 v8 - it gets pretty mixed reviews and can clearly be bettered so perhaps I should upgrade it. I'll report on Saturday how I get on with the BT Homehub.
Also for the record the 08/08 build runs more smoothly than the 04/08 build - very nice!
I encountered some problems (disconnecting from time to time while device is not moved) but the scan connect speed increased compared to CM9. Also switching WiFi on/off is much more faster now. Very convinient when choosing between different WLANs.
me too...

I see the 08/08 build has been replaced entirely by 10/08... let's see what that brings!
Wifi using BT homehub seemed to work OK - installed 10/08 and is fine too... good upgrade!

wifi resolved
I was same problem with wifi data connectivity. After some MB dropped the the connection. (tplink wifi router). Switched the wifi speed from 300 mbps to 54 mbps. After this the wifi worked normaly, no dropped data connection, and download speed is over 10 mbps, and the upload speed is over too 10 mbps.
Defy MB525 red lens GB kernel 12.08-nightly
Sorry my bad english
Same problem here on CM10-20120812-NIGHTLY-mb525.zip with MB525 green lense. After a while wifi has no more internet connection, but device connection is shown properly on phone and AP. Switching wifi OFF/ON on phone helps.
Temporary fix, I have trouble with virgin media routers. Connect via wps button on the hub, it works, takes a while to connect but at least it works, I get authentication error when using password

Temporary solution
Before connecting to wifi try disable mobile connections, then turn it on after
my nexus 4 connects to wifi for a few seconds and is really slow then. the wifi colour turns grey and is not working should i return it or is there a fix ?
wifi is controlled by kernel, are you on stock kernel or what are you using?
is it your router thats causing the problem? try it on another wifi network.
If you're talking about the Wifi going grey and not being connected to Google services but otherwise the internet works, this is a known issue that Google has acknowledged
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=40065
In the comment sections, a Google engineer has made a few posts and it's clear this affects numerous devices, which would mean wait on a fix, don't return it.

Help
Im also having wifi issues. Works fine with my router at home and was the same with router in work but suddenly the other day it wouldnt connect in work, now it just says "authenticating" and never actually connects.
Have switched the phone on and off but it does nothing. Other phones are all working fine with router, Samsung Galaxy S3 and Nokia Lumia 920.
Im using AOKP Jb Mr1 Build 2 Rom and stock kernel and havent changed either before or after the fault.
as the title says, my wifi acts weird on both AOKP roms that i've tried (stephen spear's AOKP pub, and the official AOKP mr1 build 2). wifi will stay connected, but the internet will just drop. i could be in the middle of downloading something and it will just stop downloading and i'll lose internet connection even though i'll still be connected to the wifi network. i can't recall if it did this on stock 4.2.1, but it's definitely done it on stephen spear's AOKP pub build and the official AOKP mr1 build 2. i even tried franco's latest kernel and it still does it.
does this happen to anyone else, where it stays connected to the network but loses internet connectivity?
Massive 4.2 problem. There's a Google bug report thread with about 1, 000, 000 people moaning.

This happens to me on one public Wi-Fi router I use. What I see is that android does not handle long breaks in data transmission caused by congestion, network delays, etc. Of course I see it the most on big downloads. The download will stall and will not resume even though other apps can access online content. This happens with this access point across multiple devices I have.

well shoot, guess i'll have to read some more on 4.2 problems! that makes sense then, i've only used 4.2 on my n7 and the problem only exists on my n7 since my two sgs3's have 4.1.2. thanks for replies guys, i'm glad to know i'm not the only person that experiences this!
I hope this information I posted will be useful:

I have a N7 32G and an ASUS RT-N66U and had been having disconnection of my Wifi during use. Sometimes, turning on and off Wifi works but at spots in my house that's a bit further from the router, it will not connect. A few weeks back, rebooting my router helped for a few days and same problem occurred again. Then I tried static IP, and that helped for a few days. The latest test I did was to increase the "Network Key Rotation Interval" on the N66U from the default of 3600 to 7200. Crossing my fingers and hoping that this will finally solve my disconnection problem. My Wifi is set to 2.4GHz band, Wpa2-personal AES.

Temporary fix:
I have the same problem and the temporary fix is wifi advanced settings - advanced - and turn wifi "always on" to "nerver", reboot your device in recovery and clear cache , reboot and go back to advanced on wifi and switch back to always on. It will work fine untill you shut down or reboot your device, in that case you'll have to repeat the steps.
Hope it helps. We should see an update from Google soon.

I think it depends on your router.
My home wifi is sporatic when it comes to connection but at work, it's flawless. I venture it maybe hopping frequencies? When you are not getting internet/data, can you toggle off and then on in the settings and then try to open up google now? Will it refresh immediately then?
No such issue here since november 2012.

yes its been happening to me as well. Sometime when i am downloading an app, it just stuck on downloading... Youtube is also very slow. I tried some of fixes users suggested but it always goes back to being slow.
I am running Paranoid Android 3+ with Stock kernel.
EDIT: recently i switched my router from WEP to WPA2. I wonder if thats causing this issue.

I am on PA as well with stock kernel. I am thinking it's a wifi band issue. I am going to test out using 2.4 only at home to see if that works or not.
Like I said in my previous post, my work wifi (2.4GHz) works with no issues, but at home (unknown ghz right now) it stops connecting until I toggle wifi on and off. I am on WPA at both my work and home.
EDIT :
So far so good...I have been connected to my home wifi by switching the frequency to look for 2.4GHz only. No disconnect issues to report.
