[Q] Wireless Charging Problem and Overheating Connection Issue - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

tl;dr at bottom
I recently purchased LG's WCP-300 Wireless Charging Pad for use with my Nexus 4 (Rooted, Stock ROM, Franco Kernel r127).
Last night after running my phone down to ~8%, (with some bump charging a few percent points with a cable during use) it got really hot. Once it got hot, all connection dropped. The phone showed greyed out wifi and cell service bars, and I could not send SMS or access the web.
Once I let the phone cool down and rebooted, everything was fine. I figured that it was a normal response for the phone to prevent itself from overheating and was okay with it. When it overheated I was in a Google+ hangout.
Here is where the wireless charging comes in. I put it on charge last night, and when I woke up this morning my phone was around 60% power. Looking at the attached screenshots, the phone appears to have stopped charging a couple hours later, and thinks it has been on battery power for over one day. To me that indicates that the phone did not realize it was charging.
If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it.
tl;dr: Phone overheated, dropped all connection. When phone cooled and I rebooted connection came back. Wireless charging pad only charged phone for a couple hours from ~8% to ~60%. Solutions?

[Q] Help! Battery won't charge

Need some feedback, any one has had a bad battery yet? I had mine charging up to 85% yesterday and went back to bed thinking that today (sunday) morning will wake up and do some early stuff but I woke up late and had a dead Streak next to me. I left it charging overnight (I know it was only 15%) but you never know when you're going to need that extra juice. I tried turning it on, no luck, took the batt out tried turning on with only the mains plugged in, no go, I had blinking LEDS for a short moment then it turned off and that was it until I decided to jump start the phone (I don't recommend doing this to no one) with a BB Bold Battery (3.7V 1500mAh) all of a sudden I get the battery with exclamation mark, like I had a dead battery, I've only had the device for 2 weeks, also this is a Beta Unit I bought "AS-IS" but the problem was a simple restore and not the battery. now I manage to charge the battery in a raw way, just hot wired into a 4.2v DC. now the big question...
I'm at 40% battery it is draining very little, I would even say it is under normal operation, but i can't tell I don't have a SIM on it ATM. but I checked on "spare parts" to see status of the battery and it all seems ok but the bit that says BATTERY STATUS: discharging
No matter where I plugged the wire it is discharging, the phone is being detected on windows/mac any computer I plug, the phone does detect where the source is coming it says AC when I plug into the charger that came with, if I plug it into the USB of the computer it does says USB but it will never say charging, I even transfered files to the phone to test the wire, seems to me I have a crappy battery but just need more feedback, anyone has had this problem before? on any phone should I call Michael Dell and order another batt?
P.S. I have a BB Javelin had the same problem did jump started the battery and now the mobile is charging no probs and it DOES hold charge.
UPDATE: Ok guys any of you running 2.1 (8105) on your USA Beta (probably regular too) and have this issue about not charging, I went back to 1.6 (4399) issue is gone, I also had the crazy screen couldn't unlock/answer phone, will see if that is gone too, more than likely it is but I'm not 100% sure.
if it wont charge using usb or mains but only by jump starting it, then the streaks charging circuit is most probably f***ed.

Hi,
Ive had the oppo for just over a day now and the first day all was well until last night. I had about 10% battery and left the phone on charge. half an hour later i came back and it was on 2% and then it died. sorry to hear about the charging problem. I have not heard of that. Some have complained that it charges slow. I have the opposite experience, mine charges relatively quickly I think. Anyway, have you tried contacting OPPO support. They will respond withing 24hrs, assuming it's not the weekend!
I also experienced some charging issues. Connected my Find to my laptop the other evening, closed the lid and went to bed.
The next morning the phone was out of juice. For some reason, my Find 5 will not charge when my laptop is hibernating. It charges fine otherwise.
No other phone I've owned has this problem. I tested it with my old Galaxy Note and HD2. No problems charging when laptop is hibernating.
I also noticed that sometimes when connected as Media Device (MTP) it says charging....but the battery level still goes down.

Probably the power output is not enough to charge the phone properly, it also happens to me, but with the stock charger it does it well.

[Q] Battery sometimes not charging/ draining on charger connected

Hello, it has been happening to me for last 2 days that when I put the phone on charger, the battery sometimes charges at an extremely slow rate (14% to 23% in 1.5 hrs), and sometimes it even discharges while the charger is connected. I am attaching the battery screen here.
You can see that first it goes down from 100 during morning to evening. This is normal behavior owing to my usage. Then I charged it and up goes the curve with a high angle because I use a good charger. This is also fine. Then I disconnect and heavily use the phone again and then put the phone on charger overnight. This is where the problem starts!
Now you see, first of all the battery starts going up then it suddenly starts dropping while still on charger. I woke up to find 23% battery after charging overnight. I noticed in the screenshot that my phone was constantly waking up all night long, may be this could have been the problem. So I connected it to charger again to see the battery level rising in front of my eyes. But again, after 3 hours I found that my battery is 51% and the curve has started to fall down again, and this time there were not enough wakeups.wakelocks.
I am using a powerful charger. It is made in china but it charges all the phones in my home perfectly. I also tried on another charger (also probably china) with the same results on my phone only.
I am using the stock rom, unrooted (can't root version 182.*.*.*)
Do you have thinks running in the background while you charge? Mines charges a lot faster if I turn off internet, kill background apps.
Also is it overheating while chsrgeing? You get a better charge if the phone stays cool
And third your phone might think the charger is a computer. I say this because mines charges really sloe when I connect it to a computer, like 12% per hour. Try a third charger, diffrent brand and wattage compared to the ones yoive tried. it might help.
yes there are background apps but there hasn't been a change which triggered this. the background have worked fine before.
no overheating issue. in fact, this device always feels cooler.
I've always used this charger, my whole family uses it without any issue but now the problem just started happening to me. and even with me the problem is not constant. I just charged up to 50% without any problem. there is one thing left to try. that is, I should try to restart in safe mode and try charging in that mode. if that works fine then it's definitely an app, otherwise the issue may be bigger.

Need help! Wireless charging stopping overnight!

Hey guys, I have a galaxy s7 on Verizon that was working fine with no issues until about a week ago. I use a Samsung wireless fast charging pad by my bed for charging overnight. The last week I have an issue where I set the phone on the pad, the phone says wireless fast charging connected, the pad lights up blue and charging begins like normal. The issue is when I wake up in morning the pad is lit up green as if it reached 100% charge, but the phone isn't charging and the battery has been between 40-90% depending on where it was when I went to bed. Wireless fast charging is enabled in settings, I have rebooted the phone, not sure what is going on. I don't think anything changed, I can't remember an event where this started, just one morning it wasn't full any more and has been doing it every night now

Try turning off the wireless fast charging. Go into settings>battery and turn off "Wireless Fast Charging." You won't need this anyway due to the fact that you're charging overnight. Obviously you'll charge slower, but the charging will be more stable. I had the same problem a while back.

I have had this problem randomly using a regular "slow" wireless charger, too, so it isn't that. I also had it happen on my S6 a few times, too. I've had it on a Samsung wireless charger and a "Verizon" wireless charger as well.
I read on another site where someone said reset all app preferences/permissions, that seems to have fixed it, not sure why and it sucks approving everything again, but at least my phone is charged in the morning and I don't have to wake up and check it 30 times a night

Mine doesn't do it consistently and neither did my s6, just sometimes it isn't changed all the way to 100 when I wake up.

wireless fast charging

In the last couple days I started noticing the fast wireless charging is not turned on every time when I place the phone on all of my three fast charging pads. Instead the phone just shows the regular wireless charging status. If I lift the phone and put it down again, the fast charging will turn on randomly again with no observable pattern.
Does anyone have the same problem? I have wiped the cache, thinking it might have been one of the latest Sprint updates, but it didn't solve the problem.
I've had this issue too, how long before it's switching to slow charge? Mine does it if the temp gets too hot usually, but other times the wireless charge doesn't work at all. I think it might just be a bad pad though and not the phones fault...
Mine was doing about the same thing ...it would say wireless fast charge as soon as I set it on the pad and one second later it would say wireless charging. I switched the power brick from the one that came with the charging pad to the one that came with my s10 ( faulty brick maybe?)and that did the trick for me. For reference I'm using a Samsung wireless charging pad but that was my experience
