hi guys ive had my razr m for a while. absolutely love it but ive been having issues with it recently. i am currently on the BDH rom and have been for quite some time. i have some tweaks in place with pimp my rom also using apex launcher with barely anything on the homescreen. i have 548mb for apps, 6.15mb for pictures/videos, 20.00kb audio (but 16gb for sd music), 7.45mb for downloads and it says 1.21 gb available. battery used to be good but now i get 11 hours with BARELY any usage after a day of work. softkeys constantly lag when trying to go back on a page on the internet or anything of that nature...same with the home button softkey. keyboard is extremely laggy (using aosp) even just turning the screen on and off is extremely laggy. pretty much what im saying is everything i do is laggy even clicking apps. i constantly find myself using ram booster and cachemate every freaking 20 minutes and that makes it better for maybe 5 or 10 minutes then its back to the lag... any suggestions for improvement guys? appreciate the help.
Maybe an app running in the background hogging all of your RAM. Also do you have bdh in a ROM slot? I found that charging it over on the stock side helps with battery issues. After all stock slot is ultimately best.

I have it in ROM slot but its never gave me trouble before hmm.. maybe I'll give that a try

Having only 1.2gb of free space might be the problem or at least be part of the problem. I remember having slow down issues on my nexus 7 when my storage was near full. So I would try freeing up some space on your internal storage to see if that helps.
Have you tried clearing cache?
Sent from my XT907 using xda app-developers app
Yes I have jco I said I use cache mate and thanks legend I just ended up freezing and deleting a bunch more stuff and threw on some more tweaks with pimp my ROM and its been good so far knock on wood

Hello,
The battery on my S3 is driving me crazy. I originally had an S3 and went to the Note II, but reverted back to another S3 because I couldn't stand the size of the Note. Anyway, this S3's battery is really bad - I barely use it and it drains 5% an hour, sometimes more. I've tried everything, location is turned off, social media is all turned off I just update it manually... I've attached some screenshots. it was 50% and dropped to 34% in just 2 hours and a half, I only used it for 2 minutes during that time according to the Screen data.
Any thoughts, suggestions or miracle solutions are appreciated.
Have you tried turning it on and off again?
Seriously try another ROM dude

I've tried turning it on and off, tried wiping data.... Forgot to mention I'm running Sotmax Ultimate Stock ROM v8 w/ Yank555 v2.7 kernel. Everybody's reporting great battery life with the setup, can't say the same.

I used to have abysmal battery life too, on LK4 stock till I discovered that several stock apps were the culprits. I disabled them and now my battery is almost on par with how it was when running ICS.
Try disabling the below apps. If it works well and good. If not, you've got to investigate what's happening.

Ahlan.
Phone rooted. Since I installed the new JB 4.1.2 my battery live is really good : for example 48% remaining after 17 hours of use with 56 mns calls etc... and I keep everything working (WiFi, Bluetooth and all apps)
Updates from facebook and nova launcher seem to be your worst enemy

Try this. Im using Sotmax as well but with perseus kernel. In stweaks I under volted the CPU by -75mv and gpu by -50mv. Super smooth and completely stable.
I tried other kernels and I just couldn't get good battery life. I'm getting about 14 hours of solid use. Screen on of about 3.5 hours. I used to only get 7-8 hours.
The other thing I did was freeze the following which constantly run in background.
Video Hub
Software Update
SSuggest
Samsung Push Service (for Sammy app updates)
Make sure you remove your Samsung account. It constantly runs in background.
Wifi advanced settings change Wifi policy to only when charging. I find Wifi drains this phone fast.
I highly recommend resetting the battery levels by typing *#0228#
Then choose quick start. Unlock the phone and your battery will show the actual levels. Charge to 100%
Finally, I matched the ril with the modem included with this rom. Install the app getril and download the proper ril and install.
Hope this helps!

This device is blazing fast most of the time, but it will inexplicably lock up, completely, for a few minutes at a time for seemingly no reason. Right now it's frozen on a youtube video and I can't turn it off or use the screen. The device is also unusable really when installing apps, and will lag heavily in Google Now sometimes.
Is this just me? Or 4.2.1?
Just you. My N7 is still operating at warp speed and doesn't lock up..

Are you stock? If so I heard people saying turning off the sync for currents will help, for Google now lag I feel its performs better if you turn off the hot word in setting. But with that you can't say Google and start voice search

I'm stock 4.2.1 and don't have those issues. I do have currents (and various other apps) disabled, so like previous response said try that. Otherwise maybe go with a factory reset.
When my gnex updated to 4.2 it's performance suffered until I factory reset, now it's been much better.

My best guess would be you have installed an app that is not compatible with 4.2.
How about posting a list of what you have installed, if you use multi-user, and if you are stock (not rooted), and we can give comments.
I agree. I'm running PA and rock solid. I was also rock solid on stock.
I've never had it lock up. I flashed a Trinity kernel once that caused sleep of death... but it was a known issue.

I have a pretty decent amount of apps installed. I'll post them in a minute, but no, I'm not multi-user, and I'm stock. I'll root and put a new rom on this thing if it's worth it, I figured it'd be fine the way it came.
btw, here are my androbench results. Are these slow?

Over 100 apps in total, my andronbench write speed is clearly an error so just compare read and app open macros.
My apps open much faster than yours, which I'd put down to PA ROM and kernel. Maybe your write speed is a bit slow?
Can you download "forever gone" from market and try a full fill and delete? Apparently helps reset the memory controller to improve performance.

So I had pacman v22.0.0, and I used survival mode on superSU pro to keep root, and flashed the pacman 4.3 update. My phone started lagging, overheating, and taking forever to charge. On 4.2.2 I had a few apps always running but rarely used more than 800MB of my RAM, but oh 4.3 with all the apps running the same, my RAM usage is normally about 1.4GB.
I'm assuming this has to be 4.3 right? Is it just me that's missing something, or have other people had the same experience with this?
Either way, if you're not completely running out of free ram, you have nothing to worry about.
Nope its not an issue with 4.3. I have few apps running with 800mb used . I am using PA 4.3. Never noticed any lag or overheating problems. It could be certain apps causing the issue?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4
Why don't you check in Running apps to see what apps are taking up your rams. I have been using 4.3 custom and now stock and its usually 400mb or less.
I assumed it was the fact that the pacman ROM had so many customizable options. I have the same exact apps running as I did before I updated, but my RAM usage has almost doubled. I know I have nothing to worry about, but when my phone is hitting 120 degrees on average, lagging, and the battery still drains while it's on the charger, I figured it's either the ROM or the fact that I didn't re root, I used survival mode. I checked my app usage, but the apps aren't accounting for most of the usage. Something else is, and I have no idea what.
With stock Rom and sometimes I can see 450mb Ram available.
So what?
Phone runs still flawlessly with no lags.
Don't get upset by numbers.

Guess it's rather the overheating and lagging that upsets him
You probably know this already, but it's not because of 4.3. Never had anything like that on PACman or CM10.2 - only once with a different kernel while navigating. But it just overheated, didn't lag or anything.
You should have flashed the factory images instead of just the zip;

I'm not upset by numbers, I tried explaining the numbers so that people who were going to respond to me with a worthwhile answer had a better understanding of what was going on. It does not run flawlessly, so if your gonna birch about my question and problem instead of trying to help, then just stfu.

You obviously misinterpreted him. I guess he was trying to help by comparing to his situation. Maybe he just didn't understand completely what your real problem was, but I doubt that he tried to birch you
But as was mentioned here before you should probably flash latest bootloader and modem. Either by flashing the factory image or by flashing a zip that contains both bootloader and modem.

Same here...ever since I updated my PAC 4.2 to PAC 4.3 my average ram usage is 1.4 to 1.8 gb with same number of app usage...previously it used to be 0.8 to 1.2 gb...no lag however..
P.S. it was a clean install with updated modem

Change your rom and kernel.

Didn't need to change the ROM or kernel, I figured out the RAM bar was showing me running, AND cached processes together. There's actually only about 400mb of running processes. All the other stuff was cached. Didn't notice it till way later.

your apps are the reason, was the phone slow prior installing 100 apps?, how many are running in the background and how much ram is avaliable?, you need to make sure they are not running when playing fifa.
backup your apps/data and remove them and see if it helps,
Are you rooted? If you are, I would say download greenify and greenify apps to save RAM and hopefully make your phone faster.

Nitty gritty...
I heard/read somewhere that once you reach 50% capacity of your storage that your Nexus 7 would have performance issues...I think I may have that issue...I've deleted what I could and and have freed up more than enough space to consider my table almost empty, but, I still have performance issues. I haven't been able to confirm the theory nor have found even an inkling of a thread to address it. I can't pinpoint any other reasons for my symptoms like a bad app or anything...I'm not rooted,
Symptoms include:
Very laggy to no response with touch...
Occasional freezing that requires power button holds reset...
Touchscreen acts as if a toddler was scribbling with a crayon(hard to describe) but without moving my touch point...
....
All this becomes very frustrating...any help would be very appreciated.
