Just picked up the nexus 4 with virgin in Canada.
Wifi behavior is very bizarre. Here are my observations;
- Web browsing (chrome) stops responding, pages don't load, so often need to refresh pages
- Tapatalk behaves like Web pages. Stops responding, does not load and sometimes get error that Web server cannot be accessed
However;
- Speed test app gives great results
- YouTube streaming is fine, no lag or issues
- Wifi status is always connected
- Bars stay blue
Router is in DHCP, 2.4 wifi.
Same router works fantastic with my t989d. Which makes the N4 disappointing.
Any tips or suggestions appreciated.

My Desire HD connects to my wifi, shows full signal, and allows me to access web pages and web through apps as normal.
After about 5 minutes, all web pages and requests time out and I no longer have internet access, although my phone still says I have full Wifi signal and I've received no errors other than "this page doesn't appear to exist" kind of thing.
I don't seem to have this problem on my works wifi - get full internet access as normal.
My girlfriend's Desire S doesn't seem to have the same problem on my home wifi.
I've tried turning off 3G, and I've tried setting a static IP - I get the same issues with both.
I've used Wifi Analyzer and set my wifi broadcasting channels to ones set outside the ones used by all of the other routers I can pick up.
I've already received the Desire HD wifi fix update as well, didn't seem to make any difference.
Any help would be appreciated!
This may be better suited for the development forum. I am stock rooted 6.2.2.
Since the update, on my university wpa2 enterprise peap network I have had consistent disconnects every few minutes. My network admin suggested changing something in wpa_supplicant.conf, however I have no idea where that is located on the kindle. Has anyone else seen this problem? I did not notice it before 6.2.2, but it may have been there. It reconnnects almost instantly but kills any streaming apps.
Use wpa2 personal here, rooted 6.2.2, no issues.

Personal works fine for me as well. It is enterprise with multiple access points, I think it is hopping for no good reason now.
They may have changed the roam sensitivity, or enabled opportunistic key caching or something.
The bigger problem seems to be that the KF doesn't roam smoothly from one AP to another. I haven't had a chance to examine why, but my first guess would be that it does a complete dhcp release / renew on every roam.
I notice it a lot because I have my APs spaced for 5Ghz, so the 2.4s run at like 10mw and I roam every 20-30 feet. If it roamed nicely, it wouldn't really matter how often it roams.
Seems to be more frequent with high bandwidth apps, such as splashtop remote desktop. Vince for example only has trouble every once in a while, splashtop reconnected every 2 minutes or so. I don't believe the app is at fault here. My whole wiring goes out and reconnects. Sometimes it is just while browsing the web, stationary in a classroom.
I had the same problem and was running CM7. I realized that it always disconnected with I was using the Facebook app. I have since uninstalled that app and access FB via my browser. I haven't had a single disconnect in the last couple of weeks and I was having multiple disconnects per day.
I'm having problems connecting to the corperate wifi with my Nexus 10, I've used an android tablet berfore on it, TF101 connected without any problems, I've seen issues reported with the Nexus 7 and Wifi, has anyone else had and issues connecting to WPA/EAP with Certifcate authentication.
The device is crrectly registered as it can connect to another SSID which uses the same mac database
Working fine for me, however I have been disconnected twice in the last 2 days,

Bump.
Any fix to this issue? We use WPA/EAS and I get "not in range". Some people got it to work and some didnt. there's an open bug being tracked on Google (Issue 34212) but no workable solution on the N10.
Having problems with optimium wifi. I have to sign in everytime, while on my phone/laptop its not needed.
I downloaded the wifi register app from optimium, but it can't sign in with that. Any solution?

My connection stays strong (max bars) when for example playing a youtube video, but after while the video endlessly buffers (or freezes) until, either I jump in and out of multitasking screen or restart the WiFi connection. It's as if it can't reinitialize the stream for some reason. I have the same problem downloading apps and other media, i.e. good signal, stable connection, but just seems to time out continuously. It's driving me mental, without reliable WiFi the device is next to useless. I'm hoping it's a software issue that will be addressed soon, but if not I suppose it's RMA time.

I had the same issue with YouTube last night. It took me a while to get the connection back at one point. I rebooted the device and the router and I eventually got my connection back. I would tend to think it is a combination of Android and the router that will eventually be worked out with an Android software update.
Hey all,
I just received my Nexus 7. I'm having trouble with getting connected. I can connect to the router fine, and the WiFi indicator turns blue, but I can't access the internet or occasionally will be able to load a tiny bit of data and then it stops.
I've been able to get a little better access by choosing a static IP instead of DHCP, but it's still "choppy." For instance using the Speedtest.net app I'll get a burst of data, then it flat lines. Burst, nothing, burst, nothing, etc. Chrome will sometimes load a page and sometimes it will time out. GMail has been syncing very slowly, every once in a while populating some more conversations.
I've tried my GNex at the same time and have no issues, as well as on my PC, so it's not an issue with my ISP.
Any ideas what I can check? I hope I didn't get a defective unit. I ordered from newegg and I don't know how they work with returns and exchanges.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
How close to the router is your nexus?

Fairly close. I show 2 "bars" of connection and in the WiFi panel in the settings it says the connection strength is "good."
Try moving right next to the router and let us know if the problem persists.

Issue persisted even when a few feet away from the router. However, performing a factory reset on the Nexus and power cycling the router seems to have remedied all the issues. I can connect via DHCP, browse the web just fine, and am able to get consistent data on speedtest.net at 20+Mbps.
Everything is working great now, this thing is awesome!
Glad to hear it!

We recently signed up for TWC cable at home and have purchased our own Netgear C6300 modem/router. Since then, I have had a very noticeable delay in certain apps. For Google Play store, there is always an exact 15 second delay from the time I press install to when the app actually starts downloading. For YouTube, the thumbnails take about 10-15 seconds to load. For Netflix, the app takes about 10-15 seconds just to connect to my account and display thumbnails. These are the only apps affected, which seems strange. This only happens when connected to the wifi network at home from my Note 3. We have the 200Mbs internet plan and I can confirm we are getting 235Mbs when hardwired to the router and I'm getting 230Mbs on my Note 3 through wifi at the same time I am seeing this delay. So I don't see the internet speed being the problem. If I disconnect from the wifi and run on Verizon 4G LTE, there is no delay at all. When using a different wifi network with my Note 3 in different locations (work, friends house, etc) there is no delay. When using my ASUS tablet and my home wifi network, there is no delay within any of these apps. This only happens with the new Netgear C6300 modem/router and my Note 3. The other strange thing is that once this delay has passed, I have no issue with download speeds or any buffering during playback. It all just seems to be that initial connection. I even went as far as doing a hard reset on my Note 3 no see if that solved the issue, but nope. I am currently running Android 5.0 and the Netgear 6300 is running firmware V2.01.19. Has anyone else experienced this? Have any ideas as far as solutions? Help is much appreciated.
