[Q] Android 4.2.2 for RAZR M? - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, done some searching around but Telstra and Motorola seem to be quite, was just wondering if anyone knows when the Razr M is due to receive the Android 4.2.2 update for Australia Telstra users? I know this is speculation more than anything but was hoping for a hope :fingers-crossed:
Thanks guys

Probably a few week after the RAZR HD.
Its hard to tell at this point, seeing that the RAZR HD JUST got official 4.1.2

The razr M does not have a developer's edition as far as the motorola website goes.
The razr HD does however.

Seems to only ship to the US...
I just looked at the price and they put $70 tax on top or something??? WTF... And that's without postage...
You'd probably be better off buying a RAZR M from Australia when it comes out next week (I think it's next week, anyway). It will have an unlockable bootloader, too.
Razr m coming to japan

Not sure.

For those who haven't seen it yet...

...an article I found on the 'net listing supposed "official leaked" information about the timeframe for us RHD/RHDMaxx users (and other Motorolas) getting the new 4.2.2 version of Android. LIke one of the comments states, it's interesting that there is a timeframe to update software that we haven't even received as an update yet
Also it talks about a Nexus Motorola... possible next phone purchase?
http://androidcommunity.com/rumor-m...-nexus-and-android-4-2-key-lime-pie-20121024/
2013?
You noticed that, eh?
Keep in mind that we haven't even received the 4.1 update yet, and if it's true about the RAZR X and the Motorola Nexus, our phones are already outdated, tech-development-wise. I was just happy that eventually it will be coming... eventually the key word...
Man I hope the moto nexus is true and unlocked!!!

Really - that is what I want. Razr Nexus. With LTE. On Verizon. With SD support.
Nexus won't be with sd support... Google want you to buy everything on the play store...

[Q] CyanogenMod and the Razr M

Just switched to the Razr M from the Samsung Fascinate and have a couple of questions:
1. Is CM10 available for the Razr M (I have seen one Alpha build, but nothing else).
2. Is it possible to use Cyanogenmod made for the Razr HD, Razr, or Razr Maxx on the Razr M? I would assume not, but it can't hurt to ask.
3. Does anyone know if CM10.1 and/or Android 4.2 is supposed to come out for the Razr M at some point?
Thanks
Look around on board a bit. We talk about this everyday. The cm alpha is all we got

I would much rather have 4.2.
I may be missing something and I haven't read the forums recently so I apologize if this is old news, but you can manually update here....

Just updates using the above method, havent noticed a difference yet, and i would much rather have 4.2 as well but until they come out with the stand alone flash zip like the one above or the OTA for it, ill wait.

Did anyone that has update use OTA Rootkeeper? Does it work with the latest OTA? I do not want to lose root.

If you read through the comments on the page for the download a few people mention using something to keep root. But you can go read it not my job

hdmi is working better and the quality has improved. Lapdock works better, still not like on ICS but they upgraded resolution to 720x1280.
I got the update this afternoon..
I guess it was mainly a software update of tweaks here and there, post any changes here if you find something worth sharing.

Hmm, ok. Thanks. I thought someone in another thread said it was updated.
Any noticeable improvement to the default launcher or to the phone overall? The lag was terrible..

Mod-abilty of the razr M

Hello, my verizon contract is expiring and that means time to get a new android device! I previously had an xperia play, and I probably won't be missing it very much since it never got anything official past gingerbread. Anyways I really wanted to know is how moddable the razr is, like if I were to get on with my new contract would the current root and bootloader exploits work? I've read a little about motorola devices never having an unlocked bootloader and motorola didn't seem to be a modder friendly company. I've built some android for my xperia play, up 4.2.2 and I want to make sure whichever phone I get, I can play around with the software on it if I don't like it.
phew, what a mouthful.
The RAZR M is very mod-able. The bootloader is easily unlocked now, and it is also easy to root. However, there aren't as many roms for the RAZR M compared to other phones.
I own a RAZR M and I like it a lot, but at this point with your upgrade discount, I might recommend the Galaxy S4 if you're concerned with modding. I'm sure the bootloader will be unlocked for it very soon if not already. And I'm sure it will be rooted soon as well. And the kicker is that there will be a lot more roms for the GS4 than the RAZR M.
At this point, I like the stock software a lot since it is very close to vanilla Android AOSP. I am currently using a custom yet stock rom that has all the verizon bloatware already removed.
I would recommend the RAZR M.
Bootloader unlocked able, and you can root and mod to your hearts content.
I really appreciated the work you did in the R800x forums.

Hey cj! I also remember your work on the Play. I went with the Razr M and have had zero issues and zero regrets. It's sweet even running stock, especially after you kill the bloat

Only issue is internal memory its 8gb but moto has it partitioned down to 4gb unless I'm told you buy the dev edition otherwise its a great phone

No reason it would be different on the Dev edition. They're the same phone except that on one of them, fastboot oem unlock doesn't fail out...
