Hi, I was on 7.1 stable.
Went into Stable Recovery (also tried Customer).
I wiped/factory reset, wiped dalvik cache
I installed Flashed kernel-froyo-222-179-4-signed.
Installed CM10-20120924-NIGHTLY-mb525
installed gapps-jb-20121011-signed
wiped cache, dalvik cache
Rebooted.
But it boots to a CM7 (my previous sys) logo, then goes blank and reboots. Any ideas what went wrong?!?!

Why won't you try the new build from yesterday (9th nov)?
Just don't flash kernel for 2ndboot builds..
Sent from my Defy green lense using xda-developers app

Ahhh, was looking in the /defy/ directory...
So I need to
Wipe, Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik
Install latest 2nd Boot CM10
Install JB GApps
Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik
Reboot?
Just realised, the latest is a MB526, I've got the 525, is that going to matter (much)>???>
Well tried it, didn't work, even worse, just get a red led and nothing. Any more ideas? LOL

Now, in trying to get my CM7.1 back on, i'm getting 'Error Mounting /Data' WTF?!?! How do I get out of this lol
Hi, I also own a mb525: because of united builds the phone should show the device as it were a defy+ ...
If the device reboots do not worry: it happens to me too when I update to ltest nightly, just wait the second boot and it should boot fine.
If it does not pull off your battery for a little while, reinsert it and it should boot properly ( forever ).
PS: you do not need to flash a kernel because it is inside the zip you flash.

It doesn't matter if your device is a MB525.
Try the clean install again without wiping caches at the end.
Hope this help you.

[Q] defy + stuck at boot, cyanogenmod logo, red led

Hi,
i have a defy +, rooted and installed the last quarx cm10 nightly for the defy+ (not the second boot version, latest version from 24 sep). everything worked, had it in use for 2 days. then out of a sudden (can't remember really what i was using at that moment) the phone rebooted. not it is stuck at the cyanogenmod spinning circle logo with the led flashing red every 5 secs or so. i can get into recovery with vol down when led is blue at start.
i guess i could flash the stock rom (don't have my nandroid backup on card) but perhaps someone has a solution. already wiped cache and dalvik cache, didn't help.
try this
-Mount the SD card and upload the lasted cm 10 quarx build
-First Wipe data , cache , dalvik
-Format /system is very important with this removes the old ROM totally (DON'T REBOOT THE PHONEEE !!! )
-Flash the ROM and try if works

[Q] [noob] please a step-by-step walkthrough From 'CM7' to '2ndboot CM10'

Hello everybody, as stated i title, i need a noob-mode step by step guide to install the new superb innatural quarx's '2ndboot-CM10' in my green lense 525 with the latest CM7 nighly in it.
I know most of us are using the phone for everyday use, so most likely is using the "stable" CM7 as well.
I read that cm10 is almost good for everyday use by now, and it's time to upgrade.
Somebody could do me this favour, I promise to thank...
just reboot into recovery and wipe data and chache, if u want wipe battery stats also and it's done. simply install it like all custom roms.
0. Go to recovery
1. Make a Nandroid backup (recommended)
2. Wipe data, cache and dalvik
3. Install non-2ndboot CM10 (MB525 for Defy or MB526 for Defy+ or red lense Defy with Gingerbread kernel)
4. Reboot to stable recovery
5. Wipe data, cache and dalvik
6. Install latest 2ndboot CM10 build (one build for MB525 and MB526)
7. Install Gapps
8. Wipe cache and dalvik
9. Reboot

hi nasty and thanks for the complete answer.
I read somewhere that the 'old' non 2ndboot cm10 doesn't contains the kernel, it is true or not?
If yes do i need to flash actually only the kernel or the complete 'old' rom?
tks

Why those steps ? They are not necessary !
As already mentioned the steps above me are not necessary and for your question
The kernel is included in the Rom simply choose the latest nightly, BUT sometimes Quarx makes some Kernel Updates for a specific nightly then this is only a Kernel Update but atm there are no Kernel Updates so its not necessary

It is safer to update from a CM10 ROM.

Only 2ndboot ROMs contain custom kernel. You can install 2ndboot CM10 directly, but it is safer to install from CM10 Stable Recovery.

[need help] problem flashing (setup crashes)

edit: fixed it. went into custom recovery with pressing volume down when the blue light turns on and reflashed everything
hi
my name is jason and i own a defy+. i flashed a few devices over the last 2 years (2x i9000, i9001, 2x i9100, Defy+, Desire HD, ...)
but now im stuck.
i tried to install cm10.1-20130415 nightly from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1768702
i also downloaded gapps-jb20121011 for jb4.1.2
i booted into custom recovery and did a wipe data and wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache.
then i flashed the ROM and after that i flashed Gapps.
then i rebooted and i have to unlock my sim card.
after that the process gapps and the setup wizard stops working and crashes.
i only know how to go into the stock(?) recovery (volume down + power until android symbol, then vol up+down)
i did a wipe data and wipe cache. no changes.
i can't install zip from sd through this recovery.
please help me
