[Q] Stuck in Glowing Samsung logo. - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

I'm a noob when it comes to this things.
A while ago, I installed Hyperion 7 in my SGY using CWM, I taught of installing another kernel name Merruk Kernel, so I googled it and found some instructions for installing Merruk, I followed the instructions given correctly, I rebooted my phone but it was stuck in Galaxy Y logo (not yet glowing). I tried restoring my previous back up using CWM but its says "Cant mount /data" that's why it cannot restore, I also tried using Odin and flashed the stock ROM but i'm stuck in the samsung glowing logo. Please help. (

Can u provide the log and try reflashing Odin with firmware from your country found in sir doky's thread. U should download the USB drivers from there to and make sure when u connect your phone to PC make sure Samsung kies is not started.
1. Power off phone.
2. Setup firmware for Odin.
3. Connect phone to PC.
4. Press power volume down and home button simultaneously until a screen of words come out and press volume up.
5. Go to Odin and press start.
6. Wait for it and when log says success! Then its OK and finished.
Press thanks if I helped !

I used a firmware for my country, Philippines. I already fix this problem by luckily mounted /data, /system, and /cache, lol. thanks btw.

Alternate guide...
Rom
1 Go to cwm
2 Mount system, data, cache
3 Flash hyperion 7 and wait for it to boot
4 make a backup of ur rom using cwm backup and restore
Kernel
1 in merruk's thread there should be an ext4 converter so flash it. The ext4 converter formats the system, data and cache.
2 restore the rom you backed up.
3 after restore, flash merruk's kernel the v2.5 the one with overclock feature.

did you do it via CWM app? i've had a softbrick as well while using that
try enter recovery via Vol Up + Home + Power button ....
after that try install once again the zip file
as of for me, fixed my softbrick just now by flashing back my nandroid 2.3.6 backup
What was the result of PC odin flash? Did it get stuck at factoryfs.img?

I believe you did not do a factory wipe after your GB from PC Odin boots, right?
Because the GB flash via PC Odin only put the necessary files into your phone, the residue data from your previous Rom is still in it, upon boot, your system read theses data and do not understand some residue instructions, therefore you are stuck.
Just do a full wipe and cache as well... try it and let me know if I am right?

after flashing stock GB after reboot stuck.. then go thru CWM to wipe data successfully wipe and complete.. but after i reboot the system.. im still stuck on logo.. im tryin to think if flashing cf root via odin then flash abyss4.2 kernel then flash an ROM LPY based.. do you think it will work?
After flashing the STOCK GB (very imp)
Get into the stock recovery by pressing vol up+ home+ power button and do a factory reset, you are good to go.
Edit: Do not flash Abyss yet, you would get a yellow triangle.
Also first boot takes sometime, how long are you waiting before trying again. Just do a factory reset on stock GB rom, power off, remove the battery and wait for sometime. Put the battery and boot again! It may take some time but it should boot.

30 minutes is like too long. Just try one more time and see or flash a different ROM, a wipe one, preferably?
If the PC Odin is flashing it successfully, then you do not have to fear, all is well

But how can i flash
My mobile hangs just in the first boot screen i.e. where it states"Samsung galaxy y young GT-5360"
please learn to search,
there are like a thousands of threads out there to teach you how to fix your phone
Use odin. Download the appropriate firmware from the general thread and use Odin 1.85 provided in the attachment. Put your phone in download mode by holding home, power and volume DOWN key. Press the volume up key to enter Odin mode. Extract your firmware files somewhere and link the relevant files in the relevant places in Odin. Dont worry about the files not present. Connect your phone and there will be an indication your phone is connected. A white area turning yellow.
Click start. Youre most likely going to experience bootloops but now you can boot into recovery and wipe data and cache and install the ROM you wanted.

Problems with recovery mode

i have a samsung galaxy y (gt 5360), and
its updated to android 4.1(not officially-using jellyblast 3.0.3 rom)
Then i rooted it and i was
messing around with the
awesome power of root. now im trying to get a
different rom, and when i go to
recovery mode, i cant flash zip files, it always gives an error message"can't mount /sdcard (No such file or directory)".
But when i reboot the system i can mount sd card and can browse all files in sd card.
Does anyone know how to fix
this recovery problem??? PLEASE HELP?!!

If still not working...
If mounting your SD card or changing your SD card won't work, Try my Steps on flashing a new firmware:
1. Firstly, download/choose a firmware from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800
2. Once your download has finished, download Odin 1.85 from here: forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=581913
3. If you have installed Samsung Kies, stop it, also for adb sessions
4. Open Odin 1.85
5. Boot to download mode, make sure its shut down (Vol. Down + Home Button + Power Button)
6. When in download mode already, press Vol. Up button
7. Now, connect your phone to your pc, when Odin detects your phone you can now press the start button
8. Wait for installation to complete, it will reboot automatically,
9. When successfully booted, your done!
10. Enjoy! your newly fixed phone...
Above instructions are not fully detailed(COMPLETE), but it will work

Understand the problem correctly? I see your post and i knew you were just doing the 10 post thingy.
Good going but try to understand the prob and then help. Thank you!
And OP, there is no actual need of odin. Mount and try.
I feel your CWM is the problem. Flash stock kernel from Doky's thread and try again!

Try flashing stock kernel.
It should work.
Or else try to use a different SD.
First go with a different SD. Still if it doesn't mount, flash stock kernel and try. DONT TRY TO FLASH ANY OTHER KERNEL.
AND HAVE A BACKUP!

already tried by removing battery for some time but no luck phone doesn't open. Even the sgy logo doesn't appear.....
To start with you got mount errors in stock kernel as it doesn't support ext4 system partition - Merruk Whitexp percy & hells fusion #50 do
If you can get into recovery mode - format data after flashing stock rom via odin
If you can only get into download mode - reflash stock rom correctly using the firmware packages on dokys thread in dev section
If you can't get into either normally
turn off phone
remove everything from it (battery sd sim)
connect phone to pc via usb
open odin on pc
with battery still removed press keys to enter download mode
with keys pressed still reinsert battery
phone should be in download mode
if not you need a USB jig or take to service centre as you flashed the wrong firmware or not correctly

"2) Go to CWM recovery via pressing home + power + volume up button at the same time.
3) Use the "Clean to install a new rom" option in Wipe Data and system.(clean installation recommended)"
well on my CWM it don't show Clean to install a new room or something.

to wipe (format) system, you have to select Mount and Storage and then select format system.
