AOKP is my stock.

I'm still stock and non-rooted. Nothing has annoyed me enough to change that...yet.

I'm still waiting for the day android comes with automatic root via the dev options, they can be hidden like the dev options is. They also need a better stock recovery especially for the nexus line.

Stock and not rooted but I did just get this phone a few weeks ago. Nothing really needs to be changed for me at this time

Stock and root. Haven't the incentive to try other roms with the Nexus 4 as the battery has been great since the last ota.

If u guys are going custom on a nexus device it means u dont respect android.
Custom roms are for non nexus users. What better a custom rom can provide than ur vanilla rom.
Flashing a custom on nexus gives an impression as if the user think he will be cool if he has a custom, with no user need.
Sorry just my opinion.

Actually its the other way around , I assure you for a mainstream user there is no point of buying nexus device because its stock. So nexus device is for the people who want to try different things because of the aosp and how easy to costumize ur experience. If u don't want to experiment u have the right of course but also u r like saying I don't care about geogle trying to help the community with aosp .

Read my sig ;p

I flashed so many ROMs into my nexus 4 but decided to go back to stock. My battery life was awful with the other roms, it's great with stock so im staying here until i see an improvement.

The N4 is allready great out of the box but as i love Cyanogenmod i`am running the latest nightly`s. Batterylife is even better imo and i love its extra build in features. CM 10.1 all the way

stock rooted here. been like this since the first jellybean rom

Stock rooted and using moles bright kernel which is stock kernel with color modifications only.
It give me best colours and great battery life

It is indeed your opinion. It's also a little bit of a daft opinion to broadcast on a website dedicated primarily to the customisation of mobile devices.

oh what complete bull. and this on xda. i would not flash anything on a legacy device, because these plattforms are not meant to receive roms. nexus roms are based on pure aosp. google supplies fresh sources and vendor blobs, everything is cared for. you build stock android with a single shell command.
its funny though you post that from a note. samsung at its best, creating fragmentation and confusion. : P

I have been going through a lot of custom kernel after getting my nexus 4, since december, but now I'm back to non-rooted stock.
I kinda prefer stock vanilla because of stability, over nightlies, custom kernels, etc. These custom roms are always buggy in some way and stock seems a bit more polished for the moment.
I will try CM10.1 once it goes stable, because I really like the customization of switches on it.

sorry just vanilla android, which is what you have before all the manufacturers put the unneeded skin and fiddle with the frame works to make their phones different from one another(these same modification also hinder the speed up that their phones can be updated from each android release)
Its funny actually all these great developers here can get the source code the day its out make a almost fully functioning rom/port while these big name companies stumble around for god knows how long to make an update when they have full access to the drivers and such
While I will admit from froyo to gingerbread was nothing monumental in way of adding lots functionality but security updates those were needed(still waiting to use my nfc to buy sodas from teh coke machines in the mall though)
Enjoy your nexus

welcome, and you have definitely made a good choice, it will last you forever, or until some accident happens
this is the best phone you can get at the moment, with the most development going on around it
however the only shortcoming of this phone is the missing MicroSD support.

Team ICSSGS for Epic 4G?

I am curious why the Epic 4G has been left of the ICSSGS list. I would love to have the pure experience on my phone but do not have the ability to even try to understand the programming involved. I am just wondering if anyone has even thought about it for our phone?

Both of those are CM9, not stock ICS. I believe OP is asking why there is no Epic4g involvement in team ICSSGS.
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/team-icssgs-brings-pure-aosp-ics-to-samsung-galaxy-s-line-up/
CM9 is gonna be great, but if I had a choice I'd probably run stock ICS.
We are NOT getting ICS so get over it or write Samsung. Sorry to sound so abrasive but you are preaching to the choir. There is no reason why we shouldn't except it would take Samsung 10 months to get it working on Touchwiz and BML.

This build is not built by Samsung. I'm sure the Epic may be able to work with AOSP ICS now that we have WiMax drivers for it and most of the guts are the same with the other variants. We no TW, I'm sure there is enough space for AOSP ICS to fit.

Of course it would work AOSP but Samsung already has the Nexus's out there for that. They are not going to shift gears and strip TW out of all the Galaxy S phones. We have to rely on our DEVs to get ICS on this phone.

Team ICSSGS is an independent team not affiliated with Samsung. The op was probably asking if there were any Epic devs on Team ICSSGS and if the team will release a version for the Epic. They already have AOSP ICS builds for the Captivate, Vibrant and International SGS.
These builds are not coming from Samsung

Well that answers my question. Read the link I posted above. This has NOTHING to do with Samsung and NOTHING to do with Cyanogenmod. He was asking why we are the only Galaxy S variant not involved in Team ICSSGS. Again, nothing to do with Samsung.

I would say because devs on the epic are becoming scarce and/or stretched thin. My suggestion is to learn how to develop, ask the team to join, and start coding!
Sent from my Cyanogenmodded Epic4g! Wanna fight about it?
to muyoso: I think you are referring to what icssgs is doing as stock is going to cause more confusion.. Stock on epic 4g would be an official tw room from Samsung.. An aosp type rom is what icssgs is working on.. (since none of these phones are in anyway aosp phones)
To OP: Their are a bunch of skilled devs on their own team working on an ics aosp-like rom for this phone.. They are awesome people.. Doing this on their own time... In their own way.. If you want aosp ics than get a galaxy nexus.. Otherwise respect these guys and don't ask them why they don't do this (aka joining another Dev team or project) .. Moreover without the epiccm7 team their wouldn't even be a twinkling of an idea that anytime soon you could even expect an ics rom on the epic..
And next time put this in Q&A..
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
It wasn't a request to get it worked on I was just wondering if anyone had taken a look at it as developers.
I am kinda a stock kind of guy with my phone and it interested me when it came up on the news feed today. I simply made the thread to get a bit of chatter about another possible (even though highly unlikely) avenue for ROMs for people that like their phone to look more stock. That's all.
Sorry I caused such a fuss. I promise my question was in no way asking the current developers to leave their current projects. I will probably try CM9 when it comes out.

Reading the recent chatter in the CM7 you might not have to wait long.
Sent from my 4G Cyanogen Epic.
AOSP ICS will quickly be forgotten the moment CM9 is released.
Am I wrong? I don't see any benefits on using that over CM9.
There are modifications to the AOSP that CM sees as benefits and there are pros and cons to that. It interested me that there was another team out there that was trying for the purest form they could build.
I happen to like the stock launchers that Google make and from what I have looked into regarding CM is that it comes with ADW or LauncherPro and not the stock launcher and that's what I would prefer. Just a preference thing really. I'd actually like a nexus model but the ones that I have available think SD cards are from the devil!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
Trebuchet is the stock ICS launcher allowing users more control over orientation and transition feature and more features later, they're not using ADW any longer. CM9 in it's current state is AOSP. It's an Alpha, there's not heavy modifications and few optimizations to it yet. Perhaps some actual looking into it would be preferrable. CM9 itself isn't official yet. And once we get it, it'll still not be official until the whole is considerd official.
That's awesome to know!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
that word stock on cell phone roms is so confusing.. Like on Samsung phones the GB stock launcher is tw... Maybe Android standard launcher would be a better way to refer to it . Ie ics standard launcher.. Not saying to do that at all, just frustrated with such confusion for the word stock

Galaxy S III: An awful device

Ok, maybe it's not completely useless but how on earth can a top-device-less-than-three-months-ago lag at every single move I make?
The situation gets considerably better with cyanogenmod and I'll never stop thanking devs for that, anyway it's still not the fluidity you'd expect.
Has it finished its time?
Edit: I must say that it's all going on from the jelly bean update, can't blame ics

The only reports of lag are often caused by overclocking and the SoC begins to wear down.
I find the device faster than any I've tried, On CM10.1 its not as smooth as Nexus 4 because Project Butter is a load of **** on a non-Nexus device but it performs tasks better in my opinion.

Furthermore, you have provided all of the necessary info (ROM,kernel, recovery, apks installed, MODs etc.) to properly assess your problem.
Last but not least, you have carefully read the XDA rules, and you have posted this mess in General section, while it definitely should be in Q&A...

That time of the month I guess?
Never experienced any lag with any of the roms I've tried so far. If it did, a wipe did the trick. Been usimg stock ics/jb, leaked jb, sammy omega, wanam, cm10, cm10.1, paranoid, aokp, ultima. I think I had a few others in between as well. Been using stock or siyah depending on if I forget to flash siyah after rom but no lag. Oced to 1.6ghz, uved around 100-150mvs per clock.
Absolute charm except for taking a while when waking device.

Thank god someone got what I mean. It's been advertised as top, it simply doesn't have the numbers to be qualified as top. I really can't imagine myself using an ios device, but have you seen you does iphone reacts to user stimuli? It's on another planet x.x
If there's an android that has iphone's responsiveness to human stimuli, that's the perfect smartphone :&
Anyway, could it possibly be the single gb of memory?

No idea what's going on with your device, zero lags here and this is my third android device (in 6 years) and by far the best. As for no longer being top of the tree after three months (I thought it was released may 2012? no?) that's technology my friend. Try reading around and installing either an aosp rom, or a modded samsung base, BTW cm is not great on the sgs 3 due mainly to Samsungs policy of not releasing the sources or documentation the devs require.

HTC has been very quiet about HTC devices that would receive some form of Sense 5.0. But a leak has come up for the HTC Speedy! Apparently Sense 5,0 has been slimmed down enough to run on devices with the S2 processor. Unfortunately devices like the OG Evo will NOT be supported.
HTC did not include Beats™ Audio, and Boomsound , Along with HTC Zoe.
It has received features such as
All new redesigned Sense UI
HTC Blinkfeed to view all your news sources at a glance
New camera options
Jelly Bean 4.1.2
The zip provided below has the full update. I have removed the bootloader and recovery img's so that you are able to keep your unlocked bootloaders and custom recovery's in tact.
Flash in recovery with the file on the root of your SD Card
Please flash under your own warrant as I do not take any responsibility for what happens to your device.
This is also a follow up to last years leaked OTA thread that can be found HERE
ZIP
I won't be updating or messing with this so it is just going in General section. Devs feel free to base off of it.
Beautiful xD

To bad it'll take HTC 8 months to release the kernel source.

N7105 on uk 3

Hi guys
I've had my note 2 a couple of months and love it but I'm starting to get that flashing feeling.
I've run custom rooms on previous phone and also my nexus10.
Has anyone on here Flashed a custom Rom into a uk n7105 using the 3 network. I regularly use tethering and love the fast download speeds. How have you found custom roms?
Thanks
Glenn

Ive not tried on 3 but everything I've tried on orange in the uk has worked fine.

Well I have N7100 with 3 and I flash custom roms like crazy. However I don't have the one plan and I get block straight away if I tether. Even when I use Android browser with user agent switched to desktop I get blocked as well. But this is most likely because I don't have the one plan tariff...

Hey
im on the same network and phone, ive come from the note 1 which i flashed regularly, but haven't felt the need to try custom roms on the note 2, the stock rom works as i expected it to, wasn't the case with the n1, still a great phone.
here's the 2 stock roms ive tried, DMG1 being the latest, and for me there's a noticeable improvement, not huge but its snappier.

forgot to add... rooting it and removing all the bloat will speed things up, tho, only try if you're familiar with removing system apks
enjoy

I have exactly the same setup and use phone for similar things, been using moon rom for the past 2 weeks. Great on battery, great for network speeds constantly up at around 15/16mb in a decent reception. Lots of modes but i use the standard resolution, if you opt for it dont forget to copy the systemui.apk over to the device from the rar to the device to get the taskbar on as theres a bug with the installer!

Foxfi doesn't work for me. I still get blocked. However I discovered that in ubuntu tethering works very well. No need to mess around with switching user agents.

Got the free upgrade from n700 to n705 on three UK. See other thread not much good in the choice of stock/tw rooted rooms in my opinion so I'm on asop. bean stalk. Best most stable rom I have used period. Lte varies at between 6gig and had maxed out at around 26 gig. Average is about 10. No noticeable difference between roms. Cheers
