HTC has been very quiet about HTC devices that would receive some form of Sense 5.0. But a leak has come up for the HTC Speedy! Apparently Sense 5,0 has been slimmed down enough to run on devices with the S2 processor. Unfortunately devices like the OG Evo will NOT be supported.
HTC did not include Beats™ Audio, and Boomsound , Along with HTC Zoe.
It has received features such as
All new redesigned Sense UI
HTC Blinkfeed to view all your news sources at a glance
New camera options
Jelly Bean 4.1.2
The zip provided below has the full update. I have removed the bootloader and recovery img's so that you are able to keep your unlocked bootloaders and custom recovery's in tact.
Flash in recovery with the file on the root of your SD Card
Please flash under your own warrant as I do not take any responsibility for what happens to your device.
This is also a follow up to last years leaked OTA thread that can be found HERE
ZIP
I won't be updating or messing with this so it is just going in General section. Devs feel free to base off of it.

Beautiful xD

PETITION Dear HTC

So I was thinking. If we can get a large number of people, starting here on XDA, maybe we can convince HTC to upgrade us Evo's to gingerbread with sense 2. We can write a letter somewhat like the following.
Dear HTC,
Please upgrade the Evolution to gingerbread with sense 2.
Who's with me.

i guess you have not read

I don't see anything official about those links. I'm talking firm confirmation from HTC.

Just root your phone and use a custom Gingerbread ROM.
Custom ROM's all seam to be ported from other devices and there is always something that is broken.

I'm rocking cm7 nightly build 8 and find it to be very stable. An official update would be nice though for app support.
OP, what is in gingerbread that you need so badly?
Honestly I want an official sense 2 update for the evo more than anything. Gingerbread would be an added bonus. I just think its the right thing to do by keeping our phones updated. I know HTC is looking for everyone to keep buying. But I think we deserve the update

Hell, count me in. I rather a real EVO ROM with Sense 2.0 rather then ports. And as far as I know, there are no gingerbread Sense ROMs that I've seen. I'm running Warm Z just for the new Sense.

Honeslt one of the reasons I went with HTC over Samsung is because of faster update time. I don't wanna be let down. When my upgarde comes, if I'm happy, ill get another HTC. If they don't update my current phone to sense 2 and or gingerbread, ill lose faith and go with a different phone next time. A lot of people will agree I think.

yeah but look at the other manufacturers. They all pushed out Gingerbread and HTC is the only one people are waiting on.
I'm asking that they do it in the next six months or so. A standard contract is 2 years. If they do it officially by June, ill be happy. Some confirmation would be nice. And yes. HTC is the one we are waiting on.

Poll:who is holding up the Gingerbread?

So with Samsung putting out a Gingerbread app for the Epic and no new RDFs who thinks Samsung is still holding up the Gingerbread Orrrrr is Sprint having OTA problems with network outtages across the country and October maintenance. Do they really care if they put out the OTA now or November?

My next phone will be the next nexus so i wont have to put up with this bs any more weather its sammy or sprints fault.. Im putting my money on sammy being to blame tho.. The evo got gb almost from the first day it was available with no issues...

Yeah i know the thunderbolt update was garbage..
Also i didnt say the first day, i said close to it..
Wasnt the evo one of the first phones to get it? Right behind the nexus s? And my girlfriend at the time had an evo and i also worked for sprint at the time and i dont remember any major issues... Theres always going to be some issues with an update but for he most part i remember it being pretty smooth...
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
HTC Shift already has GB but ........
Both of my daughters have HTC Shifts; ever since the GB update they've had mucho problemo. So much so that 1 of the phones completely died after all the reboots and freezes (not rooted just stock phones).
sprint did replace that 1, but now the 2nd phone is starting to do the same thing. Guess we'll have to have that 1 replaced in a few weeks too.
I prefer to receive an update that is not riddled with bugs, so they can pacify the "we need an update every 6 months groups".
I have fun playing with the leaks and then going back to my daily; the fact we have those options with this phone is AWESOME.
I am happy for what I have and am not fixated on what I think I should have or am missing.
My thoughts exactly JD.
I'm all for things that make the phone better, but so far I'm not convinced that there's anything all that great for me in GB. I've been running leaks for a while, and they're fine, but I don't see anything too exciting in there. GB, meh.
My theory is that Samsung and Sprint both had Gingerbread hot and ready for release straight from the oven but the second they pulled open the oven, out popped the Gingerbread man and ran away so now they have to catch 'em first before they can start sharing the yummy gingerbread.

Thread for discussing/begging for CM10 Jelly Bean

They thought CM9 couldn't be ported to the Epic 4g, but a valiant corps of devs has done amazing work and gotten every single major feature, including 4g, to work in cyanogenmod.
Now that android 4.1 has been released, it is only natural to ask if it will be possible for the Epic 4g to keep up with CM10 when that is released, and to talk about the prospects and excitement of that idea.
Let's do that here, and not in the discussion threads for CM7 or CM9.
Please read forum rules before posting or making threads

My coding experience is limited to MatLab so since you develop correct me if I'm wrong. JB is version 4.1 so since it is not a full step up and we already have drivers that work for 4.0 CM10 will not be as difficult as CM9.

Hrmm...the low level tweaks they've made in project butter concern me, in regards to whether or not the hummingbird SoC can handle it. The UI is going to put even more strain on it than ICS, and I feel ICS is already borderline the max/slightly passed what it can handle....I suppose we'll see though.

It might be worth it for the stability alone... It's fully sense based, so sense camera will be there. Plus official support means weakly OTAs.
It's gonna be a nice change of pace. I'm excited for it as an option.

well, I'm currently a betatester, and I'd say there's still a lot of bug :/ and ofcourse, being stuck with 4.2.2 is quite a pain ahah I hope mikitkat will come soon enough...
is it possible to have blinkfeed in this?
For those who complain about miui being on 4.2.2 ... Can you explain exactly what features of 4.3 or 4.4 that you use all the time that 4.2.2 missing?...what would a miui based on 4.3 offer over the 4.2 based miui? Are people really that stuck on bigger numbers even if they don't know how it benefits them?

the rom is based on sense roms, even the remote controller from htc can be used.
Well , for me, 4.3-4.4 roms mean fixed qualcomm driver so yeah I care

Exactly my thoughts! I like MiUi, but 4.2.2? I'll rather stay with my kitkat. MiUi really needs to figure out how to keep up to date with the latest android versions.
Well they did an amazing job with 4.1 and 4.2.2... Anyway, mikitkat should come soon
