I want to flash the Eclipse ROM. but I have no idea how.
I asked on the threads and no one has said anything, and the OP does not have instructions.
I was wondering if someone could spare their time and tell me how?
I looked on the other ROMs and they need something called Safestrap, is that the same for this ROM? If so, are their any disadvantages of it?
Tanks.

Root your device- better unlock boot loader... Then boot into recovery (ex;CWM-TWRP etc.) wipe what needs to be wiped then choose zip from sd card and choose the rom you want and flash it, then reboot system... Very simple ;D

I forgot to mention I am rooted.
And uh... how do I do all that?
I'm sorry, this is all simple to y'all, but I'm really new.

You should install 'safestrap.apk' version 3(at least) in order to boot into recovery. then all the wiping and choosing a zip to install from sd card and stuff
Okay, I figured out how to flash a ROM. (it was quite easy)
Though I hated that it pretty much devastated my internal storage..until I get a bigger SD card I am going to stick with Stock.
Thanks everyone that helped, or attempted.

I encrypted my tf101 and it works great...
I didnt it because I am testing apps for work and I deal with sensitive info..
now I want to remove it and before you say reflash it that doesnt work..
I can reflash and the encryption stays which is nice to know...
Says in the encryption menu the only way to undo it is to factory reset.
Anyone figure out how to do this with a custom recovery installed? I tried from the settings menu but it failed due to cwm installed. In cwm I am unable to mount and format /data.
Do we need to install the stock recovery? I'd hate to have to do that just to remove the encryption.
TIA
If you go to the HD Revolution thread in development you can download 'full wipe' with formats the encrypted partition. You should then be able to install a stock rom from recovery. Please be careful and have search as there are other threads on this with more detailed info than I have.
This method did work for me.

If you're going to use Super wipe script. Make sure you have a recovery that read from the micro sd card or ADB is working. If not you'll find a wiped tf with nothing to flash.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1522494 chronicles my experiences & eventual solution.
NVflash (to stock in my case)
Most of the roots were unavailable or not working
NVflash rogue recovery
CWM install new ROM
Of course that doesn't work if you have a SBK2 (B80 or higher) system.

Thanks for the replies. I need to update my recovery anyways. I'm still on an old cwm. Any recommendations for one that supports the full wipe script?
EDIT: Just thought about this...should I remove the sd card so that I preserve my flashable .zip rom since this is where they are located?

That's my recovery of choice.
Hi all,
My tab was using overcome 2.3.1 custom. Suddenly it just boot and looping while running diceplayer.
I still can go to recovery mode CWM, and want to reinstall the ROM. The question is, how do I copy ROM zip image to sdcard root while the system is still bootloop? I have searched google and forum with no luck.
Thanks and really appreciate your kind advice.
Cases like this is why I always keep a copy of the ROM I flash on the tab and a nandroid usually.
The only way I know for you to get from here to there is sammobile stock with Odin and then proceed to root and flash to where you want to be. Of course this will delete all your data. If you have things you can't lose, you might want to wait and see if others have easier and ways with no data loss.

Let it settle in recovery mode. Push the .zip rom via ADB.
Reboot recovery . Flash. Reboot. Enjoy.

So I tried to update my wife's nook color from cm7 to the latest cm10. I had messed up the partition layout before but she would never let me try to fix it, so I was trying to re partition it to the 1/5 set up. It will not read the SD card, either within the ROM or in recovery. I was able to get the repartition files to what the ROM thinks is the SD card but it won't flash. I tried to reboot into recovery to flash the reformat zip and it is now stuck in cyanoboot. It will not boot into recovery, ROM (CM7), or a boot able SD I made.
What are my options?
Force a factory reset and start over? I've never had luck with the 8 failed to boot method.
Thanks foe the help

You need to use my bootable CWM card found in my tips thread linked in my signature. It has been modified to boot in these circumstances. Then go to my partition repair thread and run those zips. It will take you back to 1/5.

I gotta say, you guys here in the NC forums are the best. Thanks form the quick reply

So I got it up and running, just one little issue. It gets stuck at the bootloader screen and it wont boot into recovery. I can get it yo boot into the sd recovery and flash/backup whatever I want, and then reboot system. But it won't reboot recovery from cm10 or cyano boot menu

Do you mean to boot to internal recovery? There is none there after you did the partition repair. It wiped everything. And if you put a CM rom back on it, that does not put any recovery on it, just the rom. Go to my tips thread linked in my signature and there are several recoveries there to put on emmc. I recommend the 5.5.0.4 version for emmc.

"or reboot into the rom". What does that mean? You cannot get the new flashed rom to boot? Or did you mean you could not get it to boot to internal recovery from the power menu in CM10? If the latter, try installing a different recovery to internal to see if the twrp install corrupted somehow.

I have been a Samsung Galaxy Y user for more than a year. I have to say that this device is awesome. But.... I have later noticed 2 problems.
1) One day I tried to install Elegance ROM. I followed all steps very carefully and when the installation was done, I rebooted my phone. Unfortunately, my phone booted up again at Samsung stock firmware. I tried to enter recovery mode because I wanted to see what went wrong, but I was automatically redirected to CWM recovery. I tried once again to install Elegance ROM, and the result was the same. From that day, CWM is my default recovery. Why? How to fix this??? I can't access stock recovery and I also cannot install any custom ROMs. How to fix this?
2) Even my SD card is full with songs, photos and videos, the "Gallery" and "Music" apps don't read any file. Why? How to fix this?
P.S. I'm running stock 2.3.6 rooted.
Thanks for help.

You have a permanent cwm because you are using a custom kernel with a permanent cwm - probably was included in the rom zip
If you want stock recovery flash stock kernel (can be found in general section or flash hells fusion #50 from dev section and select option to flash stock kernel)
you would of remained on stock rom after flashing another rom because you didn't mount system in cwm before you flashed the zip
As for your other problem flash stock rom via odin as you have probably mucked something up from flashing zips incorrectly
So.... If I flash the stock kernel, will I be able to access stock recovery and flash CWM every time I want?
By the way, this mess with the files started when I changed my phone's SIM card. When I turned my ohine on again, I opened by mistake the "Galery" app. I noticed that no images were there. I also thought that the "music" might also had the same problem. And that's what happened. Which Odin version I will need?
Thanks again.

Yes stock kernel = stock recovery and you can flash a temporary cwm
there is no problems with a permanent cwm in custom kernels as you need cwm to flash roms
If you goto phone settings about phone it will show you your current baseband - for example mine is xxlf3
You can either download that stock rom firmware from dokys thread if there or any other from your country
Thanks everybody. You are all really helpful. I appreciate your help. But tell me, do I need to mount system before installing Elegance? And while I'm having a custom kernel installed, can I flash roms or I need the stock kernel?
Thanks again.

Follow instructions on the op of the rom you want to flash
you must always mount system before flashing a zip else nothing will happen - you can flash zips all day and no changes would happen as it can't write to system as it's not mount!
As a general rule
wipe system
wipe data
wipe cache
mount system
mount data
mount cache
flash zip
format data (not always required just for some roms)
restart
you do not need to go back to stock to change rom
There are guides in general section - please read them first then you would understand the process

wipe data system cache

Had to take the ota to 4.4.2. and Just recently saw the method of breaking the bootloader open again.
So I went through all the steps, and made a backup of what I thought was going to be my failsafe old system. I formatted everything, excluding internal media and external sd at first. went to flash CM11 and failed.
Now going back into TWRP, I set my mind on fixing this. I go and wipe again, and flash my backup only it failed too!
Now I got to the point of another rom: pac rom, followed in TWRP with the gapps.
Everything installs(so it would seem), however I'm now in WARNING BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED bootloop.
I wasn't expecting this much of a hassle and may have rushed, I can get into TWRP and still have access to Fastboot if needed. but a working system is a must, your help is appreciated.

You can only use dhacker's test build of CM11 with the new kernel. It is in the Droid RAZR m Android development section. And Pac Rom is not compatible with the new kernel yet. I downgraded and I'm running it now.

And... I shouldn't have been so damn fast to get this thing done . Booting into CM11 as we speak, so aside from this version of CM11 I would need to downgrade to the old kernel system to use the other roms I was trying? And when doing that I would have to use RSD right?
Thanks for the reply!

You also need wipe your internal storage to restore your nandroid backup. Backup your internal storage to a computer hdd or your SD card then try these steps to restore back to stock kk
Go to advance wipe
Check all except micro SD card
Wipe
Now Restore you Nandroid backup it will get done.
