Help: suddenly bootloop - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

Hi all,
My tab was using overcome 2.3.1 custom. Suddenly it just boot and looping while running diceplayer.
I still can go to recovery mode CWM, and want to reinstall the ROM. The question is, how do I copy ROM zip image to sdcard root while the system is still bootloop? I have searched google and forum with no luck.
Thanks and really appreciate your kind advice.

Cases like this is why I always keep a copy of the ROM I flash on the tab and a nandroid usually.
The only way I know for you to get from here to there is sammobile stock with Odin and then proceed to root and flash to where you want to be. Of course this will delete all your data. If you have things you can't lose, you might want to wait and see if others have easier and ways with no data loss.

Let it settle in recovery mode. Push the .zip rom via ADB.
Reboot recovery . Flash. Reboot. Enjoy.

CWM not flashing from ROM Manager

I'm trying to get Clockwork Mod installed on my wife's Nexus S via ROM Manager but whenever I reboot into recovery it's just the default recovery.
I had this issue with my Nexus S too and I never resolved it. I was only able to flash via fastboot. This isn't an option on my wife's phone as it's not unlocked and I don't want to wipe everything.

How can you flash cwm without unlocking? I don't think that's possible(correct me if I'm wrong).

You mean rooting? You're supposed to be able to flash it from within Android if your phone is rooted. OEM unlocking the phone lets you flash things from the bootloader. However, despite that I haven't been able to do it.
I finally gave up. Since the phone is rooted I just backed everything up with Titanium Backup and then OEM unlocked the phone and I'm not restoring from scratch. Not sure I'll ever have an answer to this issue.
Note: If the phone is rooted and you have flash_image, you can use that to flash custom recovery(without bootloader unlocking) 'manually'.

I have had the same problem with ROM manager ever since I bought it. What I do is flash the recovery a few times. I'll hit flash recovery, and when it finishes I'll do it like 3 or 4 more times and eventually the recovery will stick.

To fix this, flash CWM recovery using ROM Manager, and then install root explorer. Using root explorer, rename /system/etc/install-recovery.sh to something else (e.g. /system/etc/install-recovery.sh-RENAMED) and that should make your CWM recovery stick. Otherwise it gets overwritten on each boot by the stock Android recovery.
I actually just learned this over the weekend when I got my new NS and I had to do the same thing. I've previously been a happy SGS i9000 owner for the past 2 years, so the NS is pretty new to me still.
i had the same bug i flash a more oldest vercion of rom manager and cmw and that work for me but im crazy ,there are better methods I just tell my experience
Just flashing using CWM..dont flash using ROM manager...many users have problems flashing from ROM manager..

[Q] SoftBrick used Kies- CWM can't get recovery mode

Hi all,
Had a number of issues with my SGS4, decided it's time to wipe it out and start fresh. Thankfuly I have everything on my SD card.
Long story short, I softbricked it, none of my backups are working. I read that if I launch KIES and follow instructions it loads a new firmware and OS (factory). The problem is, I can't get it into "download" or recovery mode. I have Clockworkmod recovery on this phone.
How do I get the CWM removed in order to reboot into the default download mode that came from factory? The phones will reboot and sit at the AT&T logo. I've done everything I could think of, been 4 hours and not making progress. Please help me remove CWM and or boot into download mode so I can try and restore my SGS4. Thank you all:crying:
Did you make backups in cwm? Can you restore any of them?

Yes I tried to recover via my back ups. Some say md5 mismatch which I can't fix until I get into the OS. Other ones restore, however upon reboot it gets stuck at the ATT logo.
I am downloading the stock ROM onto a SD card as we speak, hoping to flash to it using CWM. Ultimately I would like to remove CWM and use KIES to restore/reinstall my firmware. I'm told this is considered a soft brick.

What stock rom did you download? Stock roms are generally flashed thru Odin. You don't need to get rid of cwm.

Looks like the stock rom? Figured I'd load it onto my SD card, then use CWM to flash to it. Think it'll work? It's downloading as we speak.
In an ideal word, I'd use KIES to do the firmware restore and upgrade but CWM is blocking me from my standard/stock download recovery (power button home button and volume up button)

Don't know stock roms.net. Next time use sammobile.com. my guess is the zip won't flash thru cwm. Most of them you need to extract the .tar.md5 file out of the zip and use that in Odin. You'll need 7-zip to extract it.

Well, long story short I wasn't able to mount the external SD card from CWM. Thankfully after wiping the device and cache over and over and reloading my backups over and over it finally loaded and by passed the software loop.
I am happy it's no longer a $600 piece of plastic. So, I am hoping to do a fresh image install (downloading firmware now) and doing better backups. Any recommendations on a new boot manager outside of CWM?
Any ideas for a bullet proof (or close as possible) plan to keep this from happening again? Thanks all
Bump- anyone

2 Serious problems

I have been a Samsung Galaxy Y user for more than a year. I have to say that this device is awesome. But.... I have later noticed 2 problems.
1) One day I tried to install Elegance ROM. I followed all steps very carefully and when the installation was done, I rebooted my phone. Unfortunately, my phone booted up again at Samsung stock firmware. I tried to enter recovery mode because I wanted to see what went wrong, but I was automatically redirected to CWM recovery. I tried once again to install Elegance ROM, and the result was the same. From that day, CWM is my default recovery. Why? How to fix this??? I can't access stock recovery and I also cannot install any custom ROMs. How to fix this?
2) Even my SD card is full with songs, photos and videos, the "Gallery" and "Music" apps don't read any file. Why? How to fix this?
P.S. I'm running stock 2.3.6 rooted.
Thanks for help.

You have a permanent cwm because you are using a custom kernel with a permanent cwm - probably was included in the rom zip
If you want stock recovery flash stock kernel (can be found in general section or flash hells fusion #50 from dev section and select option to flash stock kernel)
you would of remained on stock rom after flashing another rom because you didn't mount system in cwm before you flashed the zip
As for your other problem flash stock rom via odin as you have probably mucked something up from flashing zips incorrectly
So.... If I flash the stock kernel, will I be able to access stock recovery and flash CWM every time I want?
By the way, this mess with the files started when I changed my phone's SIM card. When I turned my ohine on again, I opened by mistake the "Galery" app. I noticed that no images were there. I also thought that the "music" might also had the same problem. And that's what happened. Which Odin version I will need?
Thanks again.

Yes stock kernel = stock recovery and you can flash a temporary cwm
there is no problems with a permanent cwm in custom kernels as you need cwm to flash roms
If you goto phone settings about phone it will show you your current baseband - for example mine is xxlf3
You can either download that stock rom firmware from dokys thread if there or any other from your country
Thanks everybody. You are all really helpful. I appreciate your help. But tell me, do I need to mount system before installing Elegance? And while I'm having a custom kernel installed, can I flash roms or I need the stock kernel?
Thanks again.

Follow instructions on the op of the rom you want to flash
you must always mount system before flashing a zip else nothing will happen - you can flash zips all day and no changes would happen as it can't write to system as it's not mount!
As a general rule
wipe system
wipe data
wipe cache
mount system
mount data
mount cache
flash zip
format data (not always required just for some roms)
restart
you do not need to go back to stock to change rom
There are guides in general section - please read them first then you would understand the process

A few months ago, I installed Creed 3.5 ROM. It was awesome. I want to install it again but tell me:
Can I install it while I have a custom kernel installed? If yes, do I need to mount system before installing? Thanks for help

I refer you to my previous post in this thread
wipe data system cache
mount everything
flash rom
you can use any compatible kernel
The problem with the files is caused by the sdcard

[Q] flexrom - SOLVED-

I've been successfully using the new 4.3 ROM on my a500. After flashing the latest, it worked beautifully until I shut it down. Upon rebooting, it stays in a boot loop. I am able to get into TWRP 2.4.4, but cannot restore my backup or flash any ROM.
It looks like I accidentally deleted the flexrom folder from the tablet. I have not previously been successful flashing via USB. How can I recover my tablet?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

seems a bit strange u cannot do anything from recovery...what happens when u do?
Do u still have Skrilax_CZ bootloader?
Think I'd reflash the v8 bootloader/recovery pkge and go from there

Managed to get apx working and flashed bootloader v9. Got to twrp 2.4.4 but could not flash a rom. Flashed an apx bundle with b/l v8 and Thors 1.7 cwm. Flashed a rom with aroma and it looked successful, but would not boot past the wifi screen. Says process failed.
The flexrom issue seems to be solved, but I had to repartition. Could that be it? Don't know what the proper partition sizes should be.

[Q] accidental full wipe!! urgent help needed

Hi, I was installing PA beta with twrp when I accidentally wiped absolutely everything, including internal storage so my backups are lost. I have no way of getting it back, can I install something with Odin or something to get this back?? Please help as this is the only phone I own!!
Well if you can enter TWRP, you can sideload a ROM.
Either way since you just deleted everything you can also reflash stock using the stickied guide =) don't worry, as long as you either can enter TWRP or download mode.
