I'll try, thanks.

Just to re-itterate, the only way to get it out is obviously trying to pry it out.
As stated above try to wedge it with a pin.
If not, do what I did with my Wildfire S, crack it open (VERY SIMPLE WITH THE N7)!
Go from the back of the jack and push it up.

Go from the back of the jack? I don't understand what you mean.
Sent from my Nexus 7
Well with the back off, you can see the internals of the jack, I pushed from the bottom out. Basically the reverse of putting it in, you push down.
Wereas you need to take back off, flip the tab and push up.
I hope that makes sense
Just to add...
A pair of tweezers (if you happen to have a pair).. or a powerful magnet might draw it out.
Edit...
Just had a look inside my Nexus 7, and the socket is completely enclosed... so you won't be able to push out from the other side, as I think Wilks3y was alluding to...but with the back off , and my own headphones plugged in, I note that more of the jackplug is exposed... if you have some needle nosed pliers, you should, with care, be able to extract it.
The back of the Nexus 7 just unclips... I use my fingernails - start at the top (the camera end) and slowly work your way around.
After, restore the back in the reverse order... bottom first (near the charger port) - and make sure everything, on all sides, clips into place.
Rgrds,
Ged.
One set of precision screwdrivers, and an impressive amount of cursing..... Problem solved! Thanks for help everyone.

Does anyone here tried opening their tab or is there any link about the disassembly . I've looked everywhere but just cant seems to find any .
Where's an iFixit teardown when you need one?
I guess these things are too expensive to be guinea pigs and the process is probably like the later Samsung tablets -- no screws, all snap together and with the aluminum back a high risk of damage.
Same here. Can't find a thing on them.
I'm going to attempt to open the one I have here. If I figure it out, I'll let you guys know how to do it.
Wish me luck!
You can find complete instructions to open in samfirmware site.
Done!
It just snaps apart. The screen lifts from the housing. It's very tight though, be prepared to spend about 10 minutes (and a few hand cramps!) separating all 22 clips on each side. Phew. It's also easiest to lift from the bottom, near the charging port so you don't damage the headset jack.
Voila!
Good luck everyone. If you have any questions, I'd be glad to help.
Did you get it back together with no issues or scratches?
Yep! Very easy. It just snaps back together.
Slide the screen into the top part of the housing first, realigning the chrome headset jack cover so it doesn't slip (that thing is a pain!), then snap the rest back into place.

Your awesome Nae how did you open it can you give me some instruction i mean a video on how you open it?
Got it removed men that was nerve wracking. The problem is i forgot to remove my 32gb microsd next thing i know is that my card was cut into half , oh well.
Reason why i want it open is because i want to remove the small ding on the case. After removing the case i put a small magnet and small metal screw on the otherside to pinpoint the dent then i start rubbing it using the screw drivers handle and after a minute the dent is gone! Yesssssss thanks again for the instruction.
It wasnt that hard. I used the bigger part from my simcard you know ehere you have to press out your tiny sim. Put my nail between screen and case en the inserted the card and pushed it deep then wikkle it around and the case is loose 30sec work.

You may be able to find a part online. I'm really not sure..
This is good to know if I ever need to replace the battery..
Inside the GT
Here is a link to Samsung Tomorrow where they open the GT LTE.
Looks pretty interesting even if they do not do a step by step dis-assembly.

You can use this Blue Plastic Opener to easily separate the screen and the panel.
http://www.amazon.com/Mobile-Phone-Cover-Plastic-Opener/dp/B0055B3QL4
The back cover can be changed. It is available through a Samsung Service provider in your region. I guess it cost about US$ 25.
photos of how to open
My english is unfortunately not as good to understand what exactly to do to open the 7.7.
Can Somebody post some fotos of describing what is the easiest way to open the tab?
Thanks very much.
Hey guys,
Just got a HTC espresso off my mate. Anyway he said it had problems (lc not working and digitiser not working) So I was just wondering is anyone else having the same possible hardware issue. And if you have fixed it how did you?
Thanks

LMAO. Happy "first post"
Anyway, you'll require a new LCD Flex and possibly a new motherboard connector. Buy a T5 and have a look inside; see what's wrong.
Just to let you know, if it operates, it doesn't have a fully damaged LCD/Digitizer...

It's easy enough. Pop the battery out, unscrew 3-4 T5 screws and lift the housing off, and work from there.

I've had similar issues - phone worked with black screen. I've bought a spare flex ribbon cable on the eBay.
You'll need to remove the back cover, battery, memory card. Then unscrew 4 T and 2 phillips (+) screws. Use plastic card and a usual (-) screwdriver to detach back frame and you'll see the mainboard. Remove it and you'll see 8 philips screws that holds both sliding parts together. Unscrew them and detach the front half with the screen. Then remove 2 plastic patches from the sides of it - you'll see 4 more screws that hold the front part. Unscrew them and carefully pop the parts with a plastic cards. That's basically all. Then you'll be able to connect the new cable and put all the things together in reverse order.

I know I'm popping in techno's place, but how much did the cable cost?
Also, we met up the other day (he's local) and found the volume buttons and the touchscreen itself didn't work. What will we need? So far I've got:
•Torx T5 Screwdriver
•Phillips Head Screwdriver
•Flathead Screedriver
•A Fully **** MyTouch 3G Slide

The cable was $10 plus free shipping from HK. There's a lot of them there available (just "put flex ribbon cable mytouch 3g slide" to the search - I don't have 10 posts yet so I can't make a direct link).
The volume keys contacts are attached to the mainboard with a small flex cable, which you don't really need to detach. Everything you'll need is just to put them into the place under the rocker button when assemblying, and if they are not broken they should work. If someone ever opened your phone, he could forget/missed this operation and probably that's why they are not working.
About the tools: it would be nice if you have screwdrivers of different size. Although I didn't have a torx screwdriver and managed to fix the phone using a flathead screwdriver of corresponding size.
One more thing: the cable has a metal plate. It has the light sensor and green/red LED and goes to the top of the front plate. You'll also need to put a small rubber spacer from the old cable to the new one.
In general it wasn't a complicated procedure - just be careful, don't shuffle different screws together and you'll succeed

Alright mad
Thanks a ****load for your help haven't fixed a phone since my HD2 haha. Slide phones tend to be assholes.
The previous owner, [i{Looking4Trouble[/i], said he had opened the phone once before he shipped to technotram91, and yeah I was the middleman lol.

Hope that this information will be helpful in such cases: I've found some repair guides with pics and videos:
HTC T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide Disassembly Repair Guide
HTC MyTouch 3G Slide Speaker Replacement Guide
I replaced the LCD Screen and Digitize and still have a blank screen, the phone turns on, I get the TMO Jingle, the back light works on the keyboard and home keys, and I get a flashing green LED at the top. So could the ribbon cable be bad?? or is there anything else I can do first before buying the cable.
Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.
Hey so somehow I've completely lost the little pin that comes with the device :crying:
There's none for sale yet (not surprising as it's so new, only seem to be iphone ones but i'm not sure if they're the right fit).
I've used a pin but it feels very bad using it as it's so sharp I think it may damage the mechanism if I use it too many times.
What are viable alternatives to the SIM pin tool?
I doubt a pin would cause any real damage as long add you're careful.

just shoot the device with a .45 itll open up....
Small pin probably best bet
Paperclip?
Sent from my Nexus 4
Clip the end of a pin off with wire cutters?
Paperclip.
Yeah I guess I have no other choice than paperclip/blunted pin. Just difficult trying to find one the exact size/fit. Oh well, it may turn up in 6 months down the line like most 'lost' things do!
Cheers
staple worked for me
A paperclip was too thick to fit into the hole when I tried it. (Wasn't one of the oversize ones, either, just a standard clip.) A dental pick worked, though.
toothpick should probably work

I'd ask to borrow yours because it will fit nicely, but I don't want to give my phone AIDS.

I can't believe there's a two page thread dedicated to helping you find something to stick in your hole.
Your phone has an immune system?
:0
Heat a pin and bend it so it is easy to hold and use a file to make the tip of the pin dull. Now you have a SIM removal tool.
Safety pin, or really thin needle. I think this is as big as the slot on iPhone's and that's how I always did it.
I used a staple just now... works great once you get a good grip and press straight down firmly.
i used a toothpick and it worked fine
Half of the power plug broke off at the groove in the plug and is stuck in the power jack. Has anyone else had this happen? How did you get it out. The jack is too small to get tweezers in there. I'm hoping I won't have to take the tablet apart.

There's a thread on this in here somewhere...
superglue on toothpick
touch JUST the broken tip
hold in place
remove
Had exactly same thing.
Used a needle and pushed and lifted the part, don't try pinching, you'll end up breaking the plug
Meanwhile charge your device over the usb-mini port

So, the devs worked out how to charge on usb??? Man, I have been gone for a while....
So since the Nexus 4 doesn't slide right off the wireless charging orb at the angle it's on, it obviously either has magnets inside it or at least a metal plate of some sort, right?
I was thinking about pulling one of the plastic pieces off my dashboard, installing a relatively powerful magnet on the inside, popping it back on and just sticking the Nexus 4 to it to use as a mount. (I am aware it wouldn't charge wirelessly, that's ok)
Would that work? Or is there any reason this might be a bad idea? I just want to make sure a regular old magnet isn't going to damage it or something.
Thanks!
