usb internet adapter - Acer Iconia A500

hello , been trying to look around the forums to see if anyone has tried to get a usb internet adapter to work , im not a builder of roms but just wondering why no one has tried to build a rom with that app, right now im using connectifyme program for pc and tablet , but i wanna be able to shut pc down and use the adapter instead, tryin to cut back on electricity use.

Hi newbie here

Hi im Zigzagzz71 i have had my T-mo HD2 since launch but havent even begun to tap the power of it yet! i am a old blackberry curve 8320 user. I am trying to find out what to do as far as using ROMS, which i have no idea what they are??? im even having issue uploading a regular movie lol....newbie if anyone can assist or point me in a good start direction i would be very thankful!
Stock ROM
I am using the Stock ROM that came with my T-Mobile USA HD2. I would just recommend using Cookies Home Tab and Editor. Those are great additions. You can search in this forum and surely find the cabs for those apps. As far as movies. I use MP4 Movies and they work perfect. You can connect your fone to your computer using your data cable and active sync or take out the Micro SD in the back of your fone and get an adapter for the micro sd and just stick into one of the USB ports and drag and drop!? Hope this helps
will try....very overwelming at first lol

[Q] Help with my usb?

Hi, I'm new around here although I check in periodically to see if you guys have anything cool that I can put on my Continuum My phone's usb broke recently, but luckily I still have one from my old phone from like 2/3 years ago, the LG Chocolate Touch. Anyways, I want to install a ROM on my phone, but I can't seem to connect the data. It has let me connect the data before, just at random times. Like, it charges fine but I can't access the contents of my sdcard. Is there any way to fix this? (Sorry if this is the wrong forum, as I said, I'm new here, and I'm in a bit of a rush.)

I'm almost positive I did.
I've used USB cables from both LG and Palm to transfer data and even install roms on my Continuum. Most cables are built exactly the same, except for some Motorola and Blackberry cables I think. So I would think it has to be your drivers, try unistalling and reinstalling if they are already on your computer.
Edit: Also, my computer seems to recognize my phone faster if USB Debugging is turned on.

Quite an interesting idea, AD, however to use the HD as a usb wifi adapter to connect your PC to a wireless router may not possible since it would require drivers and software for the PC to recognize it as such. Nonetheless, quite an interesting thought. Cheers.

[Q] Motorola Defy - USB Hosting or USB reading Pendrives???

Good day everyone. I have motorola defy with the CyanMod 10 Android Version 4.1.1 and I want to know how to enable the USB Hosting on the phone.
Recently I acquired a Canon 7D camera and I wanted to use my phone as a controller for the camera and I found an amazing app for it, the DSLR Controller https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.dslrcontroller&hl=en, I've been looking around and I haven't find a way or why my cellphone doesn't detect the camera or even an USB Pen Drive. I have a USB on-the-go cable and apparently the app is compatible with my phone since I was able to download it. I can't find anywhere about this problem and I really want my phone to host and work as a remote controller for my cam. Physically I've tried different cables so the cable is working fine.
*How can I enable the hosting?
*is there an app for it?
*If i have to program a code for it, what app or how can I change the text code on my PC?
*Am I doing something wrong???
*Anyone has the same problem???
I've found a similar thread but it's no tutorial on how to do it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=960633 so if anyone can help me, I'll be a very happy man.
Thanks for your time.
I think it has not been yet implemented in the current custom kernel(but will be)

[Q] Ethernet to USB

Hey there,
I am pretty much a noob to all of this so please stay with me
I run a rooted Nexus10 with CM11 (20140603 currently) and need to use an ethernet to USB adapter via OTG. My OTG cable works fine using stick drives etc., but my tablet does not seem to recognize my adapter.
I tried using "ifconfig eth0" after first plugging everything into the OTG cable and then the cable into the Nexus - but to no avail.
I'd be very glad if any1 could help me out with this. I spent the last couple of hours reading through various threads throughout the internet, but was not able to find any solution :/
Best,
dersami
P.S.: Adapter: Königs CMP-NWUSB20
Try this app from play store

might help.

Does anyone have another idea? Im kind of in a bad spot right now, further research didn't quite help
Android only supports specific Ethernet chipsets out of the box (included drivers). So your adapter must be one of the supported ones or have drivers you can install which means you also need to be rooted. Search in the Nexus 10 accessories section to find numerous threads on Ethernet adapters. I have such a thread on my success with a gigabit Ethernet adapter with copious details.
